Fees & assistance
When you enrol in a course, it is a good idea to understand what enrolment fees are involved. We may also be able to help if you are having problems paying your fees.
In 'Fees & assistance':
-
Vocational Education (VE/TAFE) course fees
The tuition fee you pay depends on the course & units you enrol in. Work out whether you are eligible for a concession, government subsidised or full fee paying place. -
Higher Education (HE) course fees
Work out whether you qualify for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) or a full-fee place in your higher education course. -
Student services & amenities fee (SSAF)
A fee that all students must pay for services and amenities not directly related to your course such as sport, recreation, counselling and childcare. -
Paying your fees
You can pay fees in person, by phone, internet banking, credit card or mail. Your invoice (statement of account) available via MYVU Portal shows how much to pay & when. -
Census & fee payment dates
The census date is the last day to finalise your enrolment for each semester and has implications on fee payments. -
Refunds & remission of debt
If you withdraw from your course or a unit of study on or before the census date, you may be eligible for a refund of some fees. -
Financial assistance
We offer you a wide range of assistance, referrals and advice to help manage your finances while studying. -
Balancing study & living costs
Along with your tuition and Student Service & Amenities fee (SSAF), there are other study and living costs you'll need to consider when applying to university.
Higher Education Budget information from the Government
From 1 January 2016, the Government is changing the way it provides funding for Commonwealth supported students. All Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) accredited higher education institutions such as VU will be able to choose to provide Commonwealth supported places for their students. This will cover students undertaking an accredited bachelor, higher education diploma, advanced diploma or associate degree course.
For more information on Government announcements for students who are Australian citizens, studying at campuses in Australia, see the Education Department's information on Higher Education fees.
