Priest, in film, may refer to:
Priest is a 2011 American post-apocalyptic science fiction action film starring Paul Bettany as the title character. The film, directed by Scott Stewart, is based on the Korean comic of the same name. In an alternate world, humanity and vampires have warred for centuries. After the last Vampire War, the Catholic priest and veteran Warrior Priest (Bettany) lives in obscurity with other humans inside one of the Church's walled cities. When the Priest's niece (Lily Collins) is kidnapped by vampires, the Priest breaks his vows to hunt them down. He is accompanied by the niece's boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), who is a wasteland sheriff; and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q).
The film first entered development in 2005, when Screen Gems bought the spec script by Cory Goodman. In 2006 Andrew Douglas was attached to direct and Gerard Butler was attached to star. They were eventually replaced by Stewart and Bettany in 2009 and filming started in Los Angeles, California, later in the year. The film changed release dates numerous times throughout 2010 and 2011. It was especially pushed back from 2010 to 2011 to convert the film from 2D to 3D. It was released in the United States and Canada on May 13, 2011.
6: It's not the naked body that's exciting. It's the possibility.
6: Sex is biology. Sex *appeal* is marketing.
Davies: [Offering a competing job] We are hoping that our ridiculous salary package might change your mind.::Scat: Exactly how ridiculous?::Davidson: [Initially trying to control his laughter] I think it's safe to say... [at splits while laughing] very ridiculous.::Davies: [Now laughing out loudly] It's preposterous!
Plot
Linda and Larry's forthcoming wedding hits a snag when the local parish priest comes to their home to do some much-needed marriage counseling. As Larry's anxieties about Linda's draconian wedding plans escalate, the priest turns out to be much less of a moderator than an instigator.
The most stupendous and bone chilling tragedy about the agony and decline of one middle-level manager.
Plot
Mike Maquinna returns to his home town of Gold River on Vancouver Island to attend the funeral of his father, Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nations Chief Ambrose Maquinna. With a troubled past including alcoholism, Mike does not intend on staying to claim his rightful place as Chief, but intends on returning to his current life as a logger in Bella Coola. Meanwhile, a lone Orca whale - dubbed Luna by western media - has been spotted in the area, the whale unusually socialized to boats and humans. Luna, suspected to be a missing juvenile from a pod now living south of the area in Puget Sound, becomes a public sensation, both as a spectacle and a human interest story. The Department of Fisheries & Oceans (DFO) administration, led by Ted Jeffries, plans on reuniting Luna with his pod, which means capturing the young Orca. This move by DFO does not sit well with Mike and the band, who see the spirit of Ambrose inhabited within Luna. They feel it best for Luna to decide where he chooses to live. This issue - in combination with caring for a troubled band youth, Adam Ross - reintegrates Mike into his band life. The band does have an ally in local DFO officer Jill Mackay, who - behind the scenes - is continually butting heads with her boss, Jeffries, the public face of the DFO.

A clash of two cultures. The freedom of one whale.
Mike Maquinna: As our people count time, we have lived here since the beginning, between the mountains and the sea. To us, two animals are sacred, the whale protects the ocean and the wolf protects the land. When a chief dies his spirit can choose to join with either one.
Mike Maquinna: You know you got enough on your plate ma.::Gloria Maquinna: They'll put him in foster care. Another lost Indian kid in the system. They'll bounce him around 'til he breaks. [speaking about Adam]
Gloria Maquinna: There's always been a Maquinna chief Mike. That's who you are.::Mike Maquinna: I'm a recovering alcoholic, that's who I am.
Mike Maquinna: You know I betcha she has a glass somewhere. [to Adam drinking from a carton]
Young Mike - Age 9: You keep on bringing me here, how come?::Ambrose: It's where you're from. We used to hunt from those canoes back there, we knew how then because we knew who we were. A chief always has to remember who we are.
Adam: Ambrose told me that when a chief dies, his spirit can come back as a whale. Do you think it's true?::Mike Maquinna: He's gone Adam. My father's dead.
Gloria Maquinna: He needs your Tsuu-qiit. Touch his spirit. [praying to Luna for Mike]
Mike Maquinna: How you been?::Lucy: Hey, a whale in the bay keeps the tax-man away, right?
Bill Louis: Must be nice to come home and be hero-for-the-week, huh? [to Mike]
Ernie Ivers: I was just trying to scare him. If I wanted to kill him, you think I would have missed?::Jill Mackay: Your license is suspended for a month. If I see your boat on the water, Ernie, I'll impound it.::Ernie Ivers: I got a right to make a living. That's my right, and you people are supposed to protect it. Why don't you just do your job? [after shooting at Luna]
All cities burnt down
Escape to the forests
Light up a fire to survive
In mind and in soul
Can't tell you everything
Can I open my heart to you
Will you be my friend in spirit
Will you be my priest
Union in the wilderness
Rituals to praise the sun
Homo sapiens and the nature
Stars and the night sky as our priest
Can't tell you everything
Can I open my heart to you
Will you be my friend in spirit
Will you be my priest
Can't tell you everything
Can I open my heart to you
Will you be my friend in spirit
Deep in prayer, my cross to wear
I kneel upon the floor
Temptations of a catholic priest aren't easy to ignore
But I can not control myself
He rips my soul apart
For one small sheep among my flock has
Stolen the shepherd's heart
Altar boy, altar boy
Confess your sins to me
You will find the grace of God
Inside my rectory
Sunday mass or bible class
I catch him in my view
I close my eyes but there he lies
Spread-eagle on the pew
And when I see him in that frock
My conscience goes awry
I'll give him some communion wine thats
Spiked with Spanish fly
Altar boy, altar boy
Is it gonna be heaven or hell?
You can play my organ all night long
If you promise never to tell
... Our father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name...
I could dress him up like the pope and then I'd...
Oh dear god, the shame, oh no
Lead us not into temptation
Deliver us from sin
Or we could pretend that he was Jesus Christ
and I was Mary Magdalene
Altar boy, altar boy
Confess your sins to me
You will find the grace of God
Inside my rectory
Altar boy, oh altar boy
Confess your sins to me
You will find the grace of God
Inside my rec...
The priest waits for the train,
He leaves today,
He says "How could I have been so wrong for so long",
He lights his last cigarette,
He quits today,
What better way to leave than turning a new leaf
"Tell your mom I'm coming home,
Tell your mom I'm coming home"
The priest drinks from a flask,
It keeps him warm,
He says "I've felt this way before",
The book is a book,
The cross is wood,
The priest is a man
"Tell your mom I'm coming home,
