WUGD- Guns 2 Head

“The Negro people are suffering under a privileged class of Negro businessmen and professional men who have no more consideration for their own unfortunate people than the white exploiter. Their selfishness is their only motive, their contempt for the masses of their people is great, and their only mission is to rob and exploit the unfortunate brothers of their own race…”

– Marcus Garvey.

“At the expense of the plundered colonial peoples, capital corrupted its wage slaves, [and] created a community of interest between the exploited and the exploiters …against the oppressed colonies—the yellow, black, and red colonial people—and chained the European and American working class to the imperialist ‘fatherland’ ”.

“Before I was married, I thought the sound of bangles jangling on my forearms would be delightful.  I looked forward to being able to wear bells around my ankles and silver necklaces around my neck, but not any more, not since I had learned what they represented for the man who gave them. A necklace was no prettier than a piece of of rope that ties a goat to a tree, depriving it of freedom.”

“This country is a nation of thieves. It stole everything it has, beginning with black people. The U.S. cannot justify its existence as the policeman of the world any longer. I do not want to be a part of the American pie. The American pie means raping South Africa, beating Vietnam, beating South America, raping the Philippines, raping every country you’ve been in. I don’t want any of your blood money. I don’t want to be part of that system. We must question whether or not we want this country to continue being the wealthiest country in the world at the price of raping everybody else.”

WUGD-Awake

“First of all, I want to give my condolences to every family member here and across America. I don’t know if every one of you have [heard of] this but I want to say it just in case you don’t. There is something on Facebook called Killed by Police. If you don’t have this already on your Facebook, you just like the page Killed by Police. Every time there’s a murder (by police) across America, it’s gonna pop up. Well, let me tell you, they are popping up every single day. Every day across America people are being murdered by police.

My son, my only son, 25 years old for eight days, four o’clock in the afternoon on Anna Drive in Anaheim, he was talking to his friends at a truck or a car. Police pull up and they point at him. He had been in jail before so when they pointed at him he ran. He had his cell phone in his hand, a black one. We all have black cell phones. The cops said it was a gun.

The first shot was to his lower back and as he was falling to his knees the second bullet was to the back of his head. He wasn’t married. He did not have any children. My son Manuel Angel Diaz, in Anaheim, if you look it up, there were ten days of uprising. At that time, I called for peace. I regret it. I regret calling for peace because maybe if there would have been more of an uprising there wouldn’t have had to be Baltimore. There wouldn’t have to be New York. There wouldn’t have to be Atlanta, Georgia. There wouldn’t have to be Long Beach. Too many murders, too many families suffering. Never forget, Never stop fighting. Even in the courts, don’t stop fighting. I don’t care what these lawyers say, keep the fight until the very end. You cannot give up. These lives mean so much… “

All Power To The Positive! Vol#5, Episode #37: 4th Of Their Lie(s) 2015 Mega Episode!

WUGD - 4th of July 2015

Greetings all the incredible people who supported us through the trial,

Yesterday, the jury in the trial against Beck, Gillian, Cat and me came out with a verdict of not guilty for our charge of pedestrian interference. Congratulations! We’ve beautifully, inspirationally, and super successfully supported and protected people who have taken risk to say loud and clear that Black Lives Matter. We’re hopeful that the verdict of not guilty will be strong leverage to get the city to drop the charges against the other seven solidarity activists who put their bodies on the line on MLK Day.

While we are extremely excited that we are no longer facing charges, we also know that the struggle continues. The day of our pre-trial hearing, a white man murdered 9 Black people in Charleston. Since our trial began, 6 Black churches have been burned down in the South.

In the midst of our trial one of our attorneys tried to get us off the hook by pointing out that the charge we were being charged with was really to stop begging, not protesters, legitimizing the criminalization of houseless people.

We need to celebrate our victories and we have been and continue to do so, but also recognize the immense privileges we had throughout this experience and continue to build movement to ensure that all people have access to the kind of care, legal defense, and inspiration that we had. We really hope that the action we took on MLK Day and how community has shown up in the course of the trial encourages you all and others to take bold action for justice in the future.

We’d all like to encourage you to attend the pre-trial hearings of Rashad Barber and Isaac Robinson facing more serious charges than we were and who were arrested in association with Black-led marches:

Rashad Barber – Pre-Trial Hearing. Monday, July 6th 1:30PM Seattle Municipal Court, #903.
Isaac Robinson- Pre Trial Hearing. Monday, July 6th at 9:00 AM Seattle Municipal Court, #903.

The four of us want to say THANK YOU for all the ways you’ve helped us through this process, and we’re excited to celebrate with you (info to come on that soon)…”

Settler allies who locked themselves across Hwy 99 in Seattle in solidarity with Black Lives Matter; MLK, Jr. Day 2015.

“I had been a radical, a left-wing politico, and meeting the Indian people made me realize that the politics of the left and the right were so much less important than the politics of the heart and the spirit.”

– Larry Brilliant.

“Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas [as those of slavery foes]; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.”
