VO Prime Minister of the Lao PDR Thongsing Thammavong hosts the gala dinner in honor of all 35th AIPA delegates INTRO: Prime Minister of the Lao PDR Thongsing Thammavong hosted the gala dinner on Tuesday night in honor of all delegates and accompanying persons. The Premiere told the delegates that Laos is contributing actively in the Asean community building process and will host the Asean Summit for the second time in Vientiane in 2016 after the country’s success in hosting the summit in 2004. STORY: The gala dinner which host in honor of all delegates and accompanying persons held on Tuesday night at the National Conference Centre. In his welcoming remark, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong said, We hope that this 35th General Assembly of the AIPA will build on the good tradition that has been practiced and also mark yet another historical milestone in the evolutionary process of Asean as we move closer towards an Asean Community in 2015 More than 400 performers will be gathering to showcase different cultural performances through singing, dancing, a fashion show, a circus and instrumental acts. There will be a total of 18 performances showcased such as: Phongphai Lae Sainam , a traditional music show with songs from Asean countries including, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam to be incorporated; Sao Hmong Muanseun and Hapa dance performances; Khao Khao Ban Nong , a dance performance by the Lavae ethnic group; songs of One Love, Treasure the World, and a group dance performance to the song, We Shall Overcome. Over 300 delegates from AIPA member countries, development partners and other invited guests are attending the AIPA General Assembly which will run until September 20.
