The Ritz Brothers were an American comedy team who appeared in films, and as live performers from 1925 to the late 1960s.
Although there were four brothers, the sons of Austrian-born haberdasher Max Joachim and his wife Pauline, only three of them performed together. There was also a sister, Gertrude. The fourth brother, George, acted as their manager. The performers were:
The family name was Joachim (pronounced "joe-ACK-him," as Harry himself explained on a Joe Franklin TV interview) but eldest brother Al, a vaudeville dancer, adopted a new professional name after he saw the name "Ritz" on the side of a laundry truck. Jimmy and Harry followed suit when the brothers formed a team. The Ritzes emphasized precision dancing in their act, and added comedy material as they went along. By the early 1930s they were stage headliners.
The Ritz Brothers were hired for a New York-filmed short subject, Hotel Anchovy (1934), produced by Educational Pictures. This did well enough for the film's distributor, Twentieth Century-Fox, to sign the Ritzes as a specialty act for feature-length musicals. During this period they appeared in On the Avenue, a 1937 Irving Berlin musical. That same year Fox gave the Ritz Brothers their own starring series, beginning with Life Begins in College.
Joey Bishop (born Joseph Abraham Gottlieb; February 3, 1918 – October 17, 2007) was an American entertainer who was perhaps best known for being a member of the "Rat Pack" with Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Dean Martin. Bishop appeared on television as early as 1948 and eventually starred in his own weekly comedy series playing a talk show host then later actually hosted a late night talk show.
Bishop, youngest of five children, was born in the Bronx, New York, the son of Anna (née Siegel) and Jacob Gottlieb, Jewish Central European immigrants. His father was a bicycle repairman. Bishop was raised in South Philadelphia. In 1941, Bishop married Sylvia Ruzga, who died in 1999 from lung cancer. They had one son, Larry Bishop, a film director and actor. Drafted into the US Army in World War II, he rose to the rank of Sergeant in the Special Services serving at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
Bishop began his career as part of a standup comedy act with his elder brother, Maury. He guest-hosted on television's The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson more times than anyone else,[citation needed] having also frequently appeared on Steve Allen's and Jack Paar's previous versions of The Tonight Show.
Milton Berle (born Milton Berlinger, July 12, 1908 – March 27, 2002) was an American comedian and actor. As the host of NBC's Texaco Star Theater (1948–55), he was the first major American television star and was known to millions of viewers as "Uncle Miltie" and "Mr. Television" during TV's golden age.
Milton Berlinger was born into a Jewish family in a five-story walkup at 68 W. 118th Street in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan. He chose Milton Berle as his professional name when he was 16. His father, Moses Berlinger (1873–1938), was a paint and varnish salesman. His mother, Sarah (Sadie) Glantz Berlinger (1877–1954), eventually became stagestruck and changed her name to Sandra Berle when Milton became famous.
Berle entered show business at the age of five when he won an amateur talent contest. He appeared as a child actor in silent films, beginning with The Perils of Pauline, filmed in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The director told Berle that he would portray a little boy who would be thrown from a moving train. In Milton Berle: An Autobiography, he explained, "I was scared shitless, even when he went on to tell me that Pauline would save my life. Which is exactly what happened, except that at the crucial moment they threw a bundle of rags instead of me from the train. I bet there are a lot of comedians around today who are sorry about that."
Alice Faye (May 5, 1915 – May 9, 1998) was an American actress and singer, called by The New York Times "one of the few movie stars to walk away from stardom at the peak of her career." She is remembered first for her stardom at 20th Century Fox and, later, as the radio comedy partner of her husband, bandleader and comedian Phil Harris. She is also often associated with the Academy Award–winning standard "You'll Never Know", which she introduced in the 1943 musical film Hello, Frisco, Hello.
Born Alice Jeanne Leppert in New York City, she was the daughter of a New York police officer of German descent and his Irish-American wife, Charles and Alice Moffit Leppert. Faye's entertainment career began in vaudeville as a chorus girl (she failed an audition for the Ziegfeld Follies when it was revealed she was too young), before she moved to Broadway and a featured role in the 1931 edition of George White's Scandals. By this time, she had adopted her stage name and first reached a radio audience on Rudy Vallée's The Fleischmann Hour (1932–1934), where she may have met her future husband and comedy partner, Phil Harris.
Charles Atlas, born Angelo Siciliano (October 30, 1892,Acri, Italy – December 23, 1972, Long Beach, New York), was the developer of a bodybuilding method and its associated exercise program that was best known for a landmark advertising campaign featuring Atlas's name and likeness; it has been described as one of the longest-lasting and most memorable ad campaigns of all time.
According to Atlas, he trained himself to develop his body from that of a "scrawny weakling", eventually becoming the most popular muscleman of his day. He took the name "Charles Atlas" after a friend told him he resembled the statue of Atlas on top of a hotel in Coney Island and legally changed his name in 1922. His company, Charles Atlas Ltd., was founded in 1929 and, as of 2010, continues to market a fitness program for the "97-pound weakling" [44 kg]. The company is now owned by Jeffrey C. Hogue.
Born Angelo Siciliano in Acri, Calabria, Italy, in 1892, Angelino, as he was also called, moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 1905, took the name Charles, and became a leather worker. He tried many forms of exercise initially, using weights, pulley-style resistance, and gymnastic-style calisthenics. Atlas claimed they did not build his body. Atlas was inspired by other fitness and health advocates who preceded him; world-renowned strongman Eugen Sandow and Bernarr MacFadden (a major proponent of "Physical Culture").
It brings a tear,
Into my eyes,
When I begin,
To realize,
I've cried so much,
Since you've been gone,
I guess I'm drowning in my own tears,
I sit and cry,
Just like a child
My pouring tears
Are runnin' wild
If you don't think
You'll be home soon
I guess I'll drown in my own tears
I know it's true
Into each life
Some rain, rain must pour
I'm so blue
Here without you
It keeps raining
More and more
Why don't you
Come on home
Oh yes so I won't
Be all alone
If you don't think
You'll be home soon
I guess I'll
(drown in my own tears)
Ooh, don't let me
(drown in my own tears)
When I'm in trouble, baby
(drown in my own tears)
Oh, yeah, baby don't let me
(drown in my own tears)
I guess I'll drown in my own tears
You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.
And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips.
You're trying hard not to show it, (baby).
But baby, baby I know it...
You've lost that lovin' feeling,
Whoa, that lovin' feeling,
You've lost that lovin' feeling,
Now it's gone...gone...gone...wooooooh.
Now there's no welcome look in your eyes when I reach for you.
And now your're starting to critisize little things I do.
It makes me just feel like crying, (baby).
'Cause baby, something in you is dying.
You lost that lovin' feeling,
Whoa, that lovin' feeling,
You've lost that lovin' feeling,
Now it's gone...gone...gone...woooooah
Baby, baby, I get down on my knees for you.
If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah.
We had a love...a love...a love you don't find everyday.
So don't...don't...don't...don't let it slip away.
Baby (baby), baby (baby),
I beg of you please...please,
I need your love (I need your love), I need your love (I need your love),
So bring it on back (So bring it on back), Bring it on back (so bring it on back).
Bring back that lovin' feeling,
Whoa, that lovin' feeling
Bring back that lovin' feeling,
'Cause it's gone...gone...gone,
and I can't go on,
noooo...
Bring back that lovin' feeling,
Whoa, that lovin' feeling
Bring back that lovin' feeling,
'Cause it's gone...gone...
There's a lotta things I want,
A lotta things that I'd like to be,
But girl I don't foresee
A rags to riches story for me
There's just one little dream
I've got to make come true
There's just one round
I've got to win,
I can't be a loser with you
And baby, baby
Just once in my life
Let me get what I want
Girl, don't let me down
Just once in my life
Let me hold on to
The good thing I've found,
Don't let me down
Baby, say that you'll be stayin'
'Cause I couldn't face the day
If you weren't here by my side
And if you went away then
I'd be left without any pride
I've given up on schemes 'cause
Every one fell through
I've given up so many things,
Don't ask me to give up on you
And baby, baby
Just once in my life
Let me get what I want
Girl, don't let me down
Just once in my life
Let me hold on to
The good thing I've found,
Don't let me down
Baby, say that you'll be stayin'
That old pot of gold
Ain't so easy to find
But if you'll stand by me, girl,
I'll keep peace of mind
I can't give you the world but
I will work hard for you, girl
Yes, I'll work hard all my life
If you won't leave me
Please don't leave me
Just do this for me, baby
Once in my life
Let me get what I want
Girl, don't let me down
Just once in my life
Let me hold on to
The good thing I've found,
Don't let me down
Baby, say that you'll be stayin'
Hmm-mmm-hmm mmm-hmmm
Just once in my life
Let me get what I want
Girl, don't let me down
Just once in my life
Let me hold on to
The good thing I've found,
Oh, my love, my darling,
I've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time,
Time goes by so slowly and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love, God speed your love to me.
Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh, "Wait for me, wait for me"
"I'll be coming home, wait for me!"
He can turn the tides and calm the angry sea
He alone decides who writes a symphony
He lights ev'ry star that makes the darkness bright
He keeps watch all through each long and lonely night
He still finds the time to hear a child's first prayer
Saint or sinner calls and always finds him there
Though it makes him sad to see the way we live
He'll always say "I forgive"
He can touch a tree and turn the leaves to gold
He knows every lie that you and I have told
Though it makes him sad to see the way we live
He'll always say "I forgive"
He forgives

Oh my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch

And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me
Lonely rivers flow
To the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonley rivers sigh
Wait for me, wait for me
I'll be coming home, wait for me
Oh my love, my darling
I've hungered, hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk
You'll never walk
You can have her I don't want her she didn't loved me
anyway
She only wanted someone to play with all I wanted was
love to stay
If you get the wrong woman there's only one thing you can
Just dig a hole jump right in it and pull the ground
right over you
You can have her...
The girl I love she upped and left me she ran away with
my best friend
Comes home at night just for an hour when daylight comes
she's gone again
You can have her...
Life without love it's mighty empty confession is good
good for the soul
I'd rather have love that I can cling to than have the
world and all of its gold
Tonight you're mine completely
You give you love so sweetly
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes
But will you love me tomorrow?
Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment's pleasure?
Can I believe the magic of your sighs?
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Tonight with words unspoken
You say that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun?
I'd like to know that your love
Is love I can be sure of
So tell me now, and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow?
(INSTRUMENTAL)
So tell me now, and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Will you still love me tomorrow?
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try, try to find one who loves you
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
This time she's leaving
She's packin' up her suitcase
Try to find another woman
When she first met you
You were her everything
You meant so much to her
She just had to be your loving bride
But in five years, you've changed
Now you never do nothin'
All you ever do is sit around the TV set, feed your fat face with slop
And make the woman's life a complete misery
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try, try to find one who loves you
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
'Cause this time she's leaving
She's packin' up her suitcase
Try to find another woman
From the early hours of the morning
Till the late hours at night
You keep on braggin' on your lady
And tell them folks, she done nothin' right till date
Oh, can't stand it no more
She's got fed up with everything about you
So take a friend's advice, go on with your life
And try to find another woman
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try, try to find one who loves you, yeah
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
'Cause this time she's leaving
She's packin' up her suitcase
Try to find another woman
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try to find one who loves you
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
'Cause this time she's leaving
Packin' up her suitcase
Wella, oh yeah
Wella, oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Do you know that this little girl of mine
I want you people to know
This little girl of mine
I take her everywhere I go
One day I looked at my suit
My suit was new
I looked at my shoes
and they were too
And that's why I, I, I, I,
Oh, I love that little girl of mine
Oh do you know that this little girl of mine
Makes me happy when I'm sad
This little girl of mine
Loves me, even when I'm bad
She knows how to love me right down to her teeth
If she does any wrong, you know she keeps it from me
And that's why I, I, I, I,
Oh, I love that little girl of mine
(bridge)
Do you know that this little girl of mine
Called me last night about eight
This little girl of mine
Told me that we had a date
She said that she'd meet me at a quarter to nine
Believe it or not, but she was right on time
And that's why I, I, I, I,
Oh, I love that little girl of mine
Do you know that this little girl of mine
Knows how to dress so neat
This little girl of mine
Stops the traffic on the street
When the fellas start whistling, well I don't mind
I can't blame them, `cause she is fine
And that's why I, I, I, I,
Oh, I love that little girl of mine
And that's why I, I, I, I,
There'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, just you wait and see.
There'll be love and laughter,
And peace ever after,
Tomorrow, when the world is free.
The shepherd will tend his sheep,
And all the valleys gonna bloom again,
And Jimmy will go to sleep
In his own little room again.
There'll be bluebirds over
The white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, just you wait and see.
Just you wait and see.
When the world is Free
Just you wait and see.
Up in the morning
out on the job
work like the devil for my pay
lucky old usn
aint got nothing to do
roll around heaven all day
fuss with my woman
toil for my kids
sweat til i am wrinkled and grey
but that lucky old sun
aint got nothin to do
roll around heaven all day
dear lord above
cant you see im cryin
tears are in my eyes
send down a cloud with a silver lining
take me to paradise
show me that river
lead me across
and take all my troubles away
like the lucky old sun
ill have nothin to do
roll around heaven all day
dear lord above
cant you see im cryin
tears are in my eyes
send down a cloud with a silver lining
take me to paradise
show me that river
lead me across
and take all my troubles away
like the lucky old sun
ill have nothin to do
roll around heaven all day
Girl, I can't let you do this
Let you walk away
Girl, how can I live through this
When you're all I wake up for each day
Baby, you're my soul and my heart's inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
Without you, baby, what good am I?
I never had much goin'
But at least I had you
How can you walk out knowin'
I ain't got nothin' left if you do
Baby, you're my soul and my heart's inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
Without you, baby, what good am I? Oh, what good am I?
Baby, I can't make it without cha
And I'm, I'm tellin' ya, honey
You're my reason for laughin', for cryin', for livin' and for dyin'
Baby, I can't make it without you
Please, I'm begging you, baby
If you go, it will kill me
I swear it, dear, my love can't bear it
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
There's a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us somewhere
There's a time for us
Some day a time for us
Time together and time to spare
Time to learn, time to care
Some day, somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere
There's a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to learn, time to care
Some day, somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
You can dance
Ev'ry dance with the guy
Who gives you the eye
Let him hold you tight
You can smile
Ev'ry smile for the man who held your hand
'Neath the pale moonlight
But don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin', save the last dance for me, mmmm
Oh, I know (oh, I know)
That the music's fine
Like sparkling wine
Go and have your fun
Laugh and sing
But while we're apart
Don't give your heart to anyone
But don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin', save the last dance for me, mmmm
Baby, don't you know
I love you so
Can't you feel it when we touch
I will never, never let you go
I love you oh, so much
You can dance (you can dance)
Go and carry on
'Til the night is gone
And it's time to go
If he asks if you're all alone
Can he take you home you must tell him no
'Cause don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arm's you're gonna be
So, darlin', save the last dance for me
---- Instrumental Interlude ----
'Cause don't forget who's taking you home
And in whose arm's your gonna be
So, darlin', save the last dance for me, mmmm
Save the last dance for me, mmmm-hummmm
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band Jimmy
Gave us rainbows and Janis
Took a piece of our hearts and Otis
Brought us all to the dock of a bay
Sing a song to light my fire, remember Jim
That way, they've all found another place, another place to play
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band Jimmy
Remember bad bad Leroy Brown, hey Jimmy
Touched us with that song
Time won't change a friend we came to know and Bobby
Gave us Mack the Knife
Well look out, he's back in town
They'll all be there together
When they meet in one big show
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band Jimmy
There's a spotlight waiting
No matter who you are 'cuz everybody's got a song to sing
Everyone's a star
(Everybody's got to be a star)
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
I've had my taste of independence
Since the day I set you free
Now I don't bear the least resemblance
To the man I used to be
Cause baby things look much different now
On this side of good-bye.
Can’t you find it in your heart somehow?
To give our love just one more try
I thought I knew just what I wanted
When I left you standing there
But now each night my soul is haunted
By the dreams we used to share
And baby things look much different now
On this side of good-bye.
Can’t you find it in your heart somehow?
To give our love just one more try
I got to find away to make you hear me
I got reach you somehow and make you forgive me
My mistake I’ve already paid too much my soul
Baby don’t make me pay for as long as I live
Baby things look much different now
On this side of good-bye.
Can’t you find it in your heart somehow?
To give our love just one more try
Now baby things look so much different now
On this side of good-bye.
I'm talkin' 'bout my baby, not your baby, say my babe,
she's so fine,
I'm talkin' 'bout my baby, not your baby, say my babe,
she's so fine,
I love to love my baby, love to love her all the time.
Well I love her, don't you love her, say I love her, do
you hear?
I love her, don't you love her, say I love her, do you
hear?
Upsets my soul, she whispers sweet words in my ear.
I love the way she walks, I love the way she talks,
She makes me feel so good, just like a young man
should,
She never make me cry, that's why, she's my babe, she's
my babe.
Nothin' could be better than to see her in a sweater
and a real tight skirt, that don't fit,
Nothin' could be better than to see her in a sweater
and a tight skirt, that don't fit,
She wants to have fun, people let me tell you that's
I love the way she walks, (Strut that stuff)
I love the way she talks, (Vachement bien)
She makes me feel so good, (Feel so good)
Just like a young man should, (Feel so good)
She never make me cry - that's why, she's my babe -
she's my babe.
Alright!
{Rod - Slide Solo - 3 verses}
I love the way she walks, I love the way she talks,
She makes me feel so good, just like a young man
should,
She never make me cry, that's why, oh baby, that's why
.....
Talkin' 'bout my baby, not your baby, say my baby, not
your baby,
Say my babe, she's so f-i-n-e.
I love the way she walks, (Strut your stuff)
I love the way she talks, (Vachement bien)
She makes me feel so good, (Feel so good)
Just like a young man should, (Feel so good)
She never makes me cry, that's why, Oh!
I love the way she walks, (She's so fine)
I love the way she talks, (Feel so good)
She makes me feel so good, (Feel so good)
Just like a young man should, (Feel so good)
Hear the music playing, what makes it sound that way
Look who's now appearing and sharing his feelings in? sad
café
Though he won't find fortune or fame, he's not that kind
To hear this, all the same
He's the melancholy music man, but he don't mind
I can hardly hear him, the laughter fills the air
They didn't come to see him, they'll never cheer him
Don't even know his name.
But I don't care he's playing for me, and he'll play my
favorite melody
He's the melancholy music man, but he don't mind
Just take you time, keep on playing
And back to the way
Just for me, (just for me) won't you please (won't you
please)
Won't you please (won't you please) play for me (play for
Melancholy music man
I'm leavin' it all up to you-ooh-ooh
You decide what you're gonna do
Now do you want my lo-o-ove?
Or are we through?
That's why I'm leaving it up to you-ooh-ooh
You decide what you're gonna do
Now do you want my lo-o-ove?
Or are we through?
I've got my heart in my hand
I-I don't understand
Baby, what, what have I done wrong?
You know, I worship the ground that you walk on
That's why I'm leavin' it up to you-ooh-ooh
You decide what you're gonna do
Now do you want my lo-o-ove?
Or are we through?

I bless the day I found you
I want to stay around you
And so I beg you, let it be me
Don't take this heaven from one
If you must cling to someone
Now and forever, let it be me
Each time we meet love
I find complete love
Without your sweet love what would life be
So never leave me lonely
Tell me you love me only
And that you'll always let it be me
Each time we meet love
I find complete love
Without your sweet love what would life be
So never leave me lonely
Tell me you love me only
Justine
Justine, Justine
Yeah, you just don't treat me right
Justine, Justine
You just don't treat me right
You like to ball in the mornin'
And stay out late at night
Goin' to the barber shop
Gonna have them do me up
Gonna get clean for my little buttercup
Justine, Justine
Yeah, you just don't treat me right
You like to ball in the mornin'
And stay out late at night
Hey, ho
Hey, ho
Justine, Justine
Justine, Justine
You like to ball in the mornin'
And stay out late at night
Do you feel all right?
(Yes, I feel all right)
Do you feel all right now, yeah?
(Yes, I feel all right)
I wanna know, I wanna know, yeah, yeah
(Yes, I feel all right)
Do you feel all right now?
(Yes, I feel all right)
Do you feel all right?
(Yes, I feel all right)
Do you feel all right, yeah?
(Yes, I feel all right)
Goin' to the barber shop
Gonna have them do me up
Gonna get clean for my little buttercup
Justine, Justine
Yeah, you just don't treat me right
You like to ball in the mornin'
And stay out late at night
Justine, Justine
Justine, Justine
Justine, Justine
Justine, Justine
You like to ball in the mornin'
And stay out late at night
Traveling down a road that's lonely
Wondering why you're feelin' blue
Living just for yourself only
I know what you're going through
Looking through those shady lenses
Will distort the view
Yeah, can't you see that
Love is needed?
Let me share my life with you
Make your mind up
Where we wind up
It's up to you
It's up to you
How can you see the new horizon
When you hide your heart away?
The past has made you so protective
But those are dues you had to pay
Now throw away the gloomy makeup
Groovin' is the thing to do
Well, time to wake up
All your feelings
Let the sun come shining through
Make your mind up
Where we wind up
It's up to you
It's up to you
It's up to you
Hey hey hey
Throw away that gloomy makeup
Groovin' is the thing to do
Yeah, time to wake up
All your feelings
Let the sun come shining through
Make your mind up
Where we wind up
It's up to you
It's up to you
It's up to you
Make your mind up
Where we gonna wind up
You know it's up to you, girl
It's up to you
Make your mind up
Where we wind up
You got to make your mind up
Where we wind up
This is my island in the sun
Where my people have toiled since time begun
I may sail on many a sea
Her shores will always be home to me
Oh, island in the sun
Willed to me by my father's hand
All my days I will sing in praise
Of your forest, waters, your shining sand
When morning breaks the heaven on high
I lift my heavy load to the sky
Sun comes down with a burning glow
Mingles my sweat with the earth below
Oh, island in the sun
Willed to me by my father's hand
All my days I will sing in praise
Of your forest, waters, your shining sand
I see woman on bended knee
Cutting cane for her family
I see man at the water side
Casting nets at the surging tide
Oh, island in the sun
Willed to me by my father's hand
All my days I will sing in praise
Of your forest, waters, your shining sand
I hope the day will never come
That I can't awake to the sound of drum
Never let me miss carnival
With calypso songs philosophical
Oh, island in the sun
Willed to me by my father's hand
All my days I will sing in praise
Of your forest, waters, your shining sand
Sad the time, I'll ever miss
The gay colored skirts as they turn and twist
Let me always hear soft guitars
And a maiden's voice 'neath a thousand stars
Oh, island in the sun
Willed to me by my father's hand
All my days I will sing in praise
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
That's when my love comes tumbling down
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
When there's no one else around
I'm gonna take you girl and hold you
And do all the things I told you
In the midnight hour
Yes I am
Ooh yes I am
One more thing I just want to say right here
I'm gonna wait till the stars come out
And see that twinkle in your eyes
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
That when my love begins to shine
You're the only girl I know
That can really love me so
In the midnight hour
Oh yeah ..In the midnight hour
Yeah, alright, play it for me one time
***horn solo***
I'm gonna wait till midnight hour
That's when my love comes tumbling down
I'm gonna wait, way in the midnight hour
That's when my love begins to shine
Just you and I Ooh Baby
Just you and I
Nobody around baby, Just, you and I
I dont want you be no slave
I dont want you work all day
I dont want cause Im sad and blue
I just want to make love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you
I dont want you cook my bread
I dont want you make my bed
I dont want your money too
I just want to make love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you
Well I can tell by the way that you twitch and walk
See by the way that you baby talk
Know by the way that you treat your man
I can love you, baby, till the night train
I dont want you wash my clothes
I dont want you leave the home
I dont want cause Im sad and blue
I just want to make love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you
Yeah
I dont want you wash my clothes
I dont want you leave the home
I dont want cause Im sad and blue
I just want to make love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Sweet love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
I just wanna make love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you, baby
Love to you
I just, I just want ot make love to you, baby
Now you know me
You know how proud I am
And what I'm gonna tell you now
Won't be easy to say
Before I left your side
Ooh, I was so happy then
But I've been so lonely
Since I've been away
Oh, baby
I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go
I just can't make it alone
There's something in my soul
That will always
Lead me back to you
What can I say now?
Sorry is just not good enough
I couldn't blame you if you hurt me now
The way I hurt you then
But who else can I turn to?
Oh, baby, I'm begging you
Won't you reach out for my dying soul?
And make me live again
Oh, baby, it's so hard
I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go
I just can't make it alone
There's something in my soul
That will always
Lead me back to you
Baby, help me
I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go
And I can't make it alone
There's something in my soul
That will always
Lead me back to you
Oh, help me
(Please help me)
You know I need you
(I need you)
I'm saying that I need you
I just can't make it by myself
(I just can't make it by myself)
I just can't make it all alone
(I just can't make it all alone)
I just can't make it by myself
(I just can't make it by myself)
I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows,
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows,
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
Someone will come to show the way,
I believe, I believe.
I believe above the storm a smallest prayer
Will still be heard,
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word,
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I believe.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
Adore you, and want you so
I'm just a no one,
With nothing to give you but Oh
I Love You
He, He buys you diamonds
Bright, sparkling diamonds
But believe me, dear when I say,
That he can give you the world,
But he'll never love you the way
I Love You
He can take you anyplace he wants
To fancy clubs and restaurants
But I can only watch you with
My nose pressed up against the window pane
I, I who have nothing
I, I who have no one
Must watch you, go dancing by
Wrapped in the arms of somebody else
When darling it's I
Who Loves you
I Love You
I Love You
Girl you got me to fall in love with you
Though I'm not free to fall in love with you
Oh, baby
Why did I have to get so hung on you
Tell me
Why did I have to get so hung on you
Believe me, baby,
I didn't plan it this way
I thought I'd see you one night and
Forget you the next day
You're not the girl that I belong to
And even though I know it's wrong to
There's a little place where we can go
Where we won't run into a soul we know
Whoa, baby, baby
Well I wish I could get you out of my heart
Then I could also get you out of my life
Baby
Why did I have to get so hung on you
Tell me
Why did I have to get so hung on you
Sure I could tell you it's over and then
One day I'd call you and beg you to see me again
This is a fine mess I got myself in
And let me tell you baby, you're not helping
You know the changes I'm going through
And still you look at me the way you do
Cause you got me to fall in love with you
Though I'm not free to fall in love with you
Baby, baby
Why did I have to get so hung on you
I want to know
Don't you ever, be sad
Lean on me, hen times get bad
When the day come, and you know your down
In a river of trouble, your bout to drown
Hold on, cause I'm coming
Hold on, I'm coming
I'm on my way, your lover where
If your cold, I will be your cover
Never have to worry, because I am here
You dont need to suffer, cause I am near
Hold on cause I'm coming
Hold on cause I'm coming
Hold on, cause I'm coming
Hold on, I'm coming
Lemme hear ya'll
You talk to me
For satisfaction, oh, hold on
Call my name, oh, call my name yeah for quick reaction
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Oh dont you ever,
oh dont you ever, be sad,
I want you to lean on me, when times get bad,
When the day comes, and I know you been around,
In a river o trouble, you you you you about to drown
Hold on I'm coming
Hold on cause I'm coming
Hold on cause I'm coming
Hold on I'm coming
(just hold on baby)
Hold on, I'm coming (here i come)
Hold on, I'm coming (take my hand)
Hey, Girl! I want you to know,
I’m gonna miss you so much if you go.
And, Hey, Girl I tell you no lie,
Something deep inside of me’s going to die,
if you say so long, if this is goodbye. Oh...
Hey, Girt This can’t be true
How am I supposed to exist without you?
And, Hey, Girt Now don’t put me on,
What’s gonna happen to me when you’re gone.
How will ‘live. How can I go on.
How can ‘go on? Hey, Girl!
Hey, Girl! Now sit yourself down, “in not ashamed to get
down on the ground, Don’t go away. Hey, Girl!
Huhuuuhuhuhuhuuuuuuh, hu!
You move it to the left, yeah, and you go for yourself.
You move it to the right, yeah, if it takes all night.
Now take it kinda slow,
with a whole lot of soul.
Don't move it too fast.
Just make it last.
You scratch just like a monkey.
Yeah ya do, real cool.
You slide it to the limbo.
Yeah, how low can you go?
Now come on baby, come on baby!
Don't fall down on me now.
Just move it right here to the Harlem Shuffle.
Huh, yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem Shuffle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem Shuffle.
Meooow. Ooh haoooh!
Hitch me hitch hike baby, across the floor.
Whow, whow, whow, I can't stand it no more.
Now come on, baby [oh, come on baby!], now get into
your slide.
Just ride, ride, ride little pony ride.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem Shuffle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem Shuffle.
[Do the Monkey Shine]
Yeah, yeah, yeah, shake your tail feather, baby.
[Shake shake, shake shake yeah!]
Yeah, yeah, yeah, shake your tail feather, baby.
Huh, yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem Shuffle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, do the Harlem Shuffle.
Yeah, like your momma told you how.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, huh, do the Harlem Shuffle.
(Love can change a young boy into a man)
(But a broken heart can change a man, back into a boy
again)
Your not the first man to cry
When things have gone wrong
You're only human, you're only so strong
(It takes one) Little tear to knock a big man down
(It takes one) Broken heart to keep him down on the
ground
It takes three little words, to make him stand again
(stand agaun)
(So cry, go ahead and cry
Go ahead and cry, cry)
Love is so easy to play, but so hard to win
You're still a young man, your heart will love again
(It takes one) Little kiss from her sweet tender lips
(It takes one) Gentle touch from her soft fingertips
It takes more than one tear, to mend a broken heart
(broken heart)
(So cry, go ahead and cry
Go ahead and cry, cry)
Go ahead, go ahead
Go ahead and (cry)
I want you to get down on your knees and (cry)
Kneel down baby (cry)
When your feelin' blue I want you to (cry)
Ever since the time that I was ten years old
I dream about the way it would be
Mama had me playing on that classical piano
But that was not the music for me
I had my very first introduction
By singing in a local band
I've got my rock and my roll instruction
Playing every club in the land
I made a deal with the angel of music
And I found what you said was true
If you give it to the people like the people want it
They'll give it, they'll give it
They'll give it right back to you
I can't think of anything that I wouldn't do
As long as someone wants me to sing
You don't have to label me a Hollywood hero
Just let me do my RIGHTEOUS thing!
'Cos when the crowd they're just waiting for you
And the lights they check-out okay
There ain't no words to describe the feeling
That everybody's come to hear you play
(Yes I will)
I made a deal with the angel of music
And I learned what it's all about
If you give it to the people like they wanna hear it
They'll let it, they'll let it
They'll let it all hang all night
You know I, you know I made a deal with the angel of
music
And I found what she said it was true
If you give it to the people like the people wanted
They'll give it, they'll give it
They'll give it right back to you
FADE:
I made a deal with the angel of music
And I learned what it's all about
Georgia, Georgia
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
I said now Georgia, Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
I said Georgia, Georgia
No peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
Now ya know it's Georgia, Georgia
No peace, no peace I find
Just an old, sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
---------------------
Georgia, Oh, Georgia
The whole day through
Just that old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind, on my mind
Georgia, Oh, Georgia
A song, song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
Oh, as moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
That the road leads back to you
Yeah, I say Georgia, yeah, yeah, Georgia
Yeah, no peace, no peace, yeah, do I find
Oh, just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind, yeah, on my mind
Yeah, just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
First the tide rushes in
Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more
So I'll rush to your side
Like the oncoming tide
With one burning thought
Will your arms open wide
At last we're face to face
And as we kiss through an embrace
I can tell, I can feel
You are love
You are rea....ly mine in the rain
In the dark, in the sun
Like the tide at its ebb
I'm at peace in the web of your arms
With the music of life
My soul is out of tune
And I feel like I'm growing old
Much too soon
My love I just couldn't compare
And the key to my happiness
I let slip away
Now I'm a man without a dream
I've got a heart that has no home
All my senses are numb
Losing you I've become
A man without a dream
Instead of striving to reach my goals in life
I got distracted with mean, endless games
For just an illusion I traded love that was real
Now my eyes cannot see and my heart cannot feel
Now I'm a man without a dream
I've got a heart that has no home
All my senses are numb
Losing you I've become
A man without a dream
Sometimes I think I'm a prisoner of fate
Doomed to find out things a little too late
And so I must play this broken man's role
Unless you come home, girl
And bring back my soul
Now I'm a man without a dream
I've got a heart that has no home
All my senses are numb
Losing you I've become
Lay your head down on my shoulder
I wont let the night get colder
I'll protect you
I'll be keeping trouble far from where your sleeping
Until you wake in the morning
You've got the world to yourself.
Dream on
Dream about the world we're gonna live in one fine day
Dream on
Spend the night in heaven, I'll be here to light your
Someday tomorrow will smile
But little girl in the meanwhile
Dream on
You're a princess
Chains around you
I'm a hero who just found you
Till a brand new day must wake you
Let imagination take you
Go where the music is playing
I'll be along in a while
Dream on
Dream about the world we're gonna live in one fine day.
Dream on
Spend the night in heaven, I'll be here to light your
Someday tomorrow will smile
But little girl in the meanwhile
Dream on
Baby, baby, dream on
Dream about the world we're gonna live in one fine day
Dream on
Spend the night in heaven, Ill be here to light your
way.
Dream on
Dream on
Dream on
Dream about the world we're gonna live in one fine day
Dream on
Spend the night in heaven, Ill be here to light your

Dream on
Dream about the world we're gonna live in one fine day
Im gonna love you like nobodys loved you come rain or
come shine
High as a mountain and deep as a river come rain or
come shine
I guess when you met me it was just one of those things
But dont ever bet me cause Im gonna be true if you let
Youre gonna love me like nobodys loved me come rain or
come shine
Happy together unhappy together and wont it be fine?
Days may be cloudy or sunny
Were in or were out of the money
But Im with you always, Im with you rain or shine
Im gonna love you like nobodys loved you come rain or
come shine
High as a mountain deep as a river come rain or come
shine
I guess when you met me it was just one of those things
But dont ever bet me cause Im gonna be true if you let
Youre gonna love me like nobodys loved me come rain or

Happy together unhappy together and wont it be fine?
Days may be cloudy or sunny
Were in or were out of the money.
But Ill love you always, Im with you rain or shine
You look at me
And baby all you see
Are my blue eyes
I´m not a man
Baby all that I am
Is what I symbolize
Brown eyed woman
Ohh brown eyed woman
Brown eyed woman
Oh I could love you so
Love you so
Brown eyed woman
I could love you so
All of the years
All the hate and the tears
Have twisted your mind
And you turn away
You won´t trust what I say
And it´s tearing me apart
Brown eyed woman
Ohh brown eyed woman
Brown eyed woman
Oh I could love you so
Love you so
Brown eyed woman
I could love you so
I´m holding out my hand to you
Ohh darlin´ tell me
Tell me please what else can I do
When your lips
Long to be kissed
And your heart
Cries for love that you have missed
Bring your love to me
Darling, please don't you be a
No, don't go to him
Bring your love to me
Just to feel
Your lips next to mine once more
Would be just
What my heart's been crying for
So please take my hand
Darling, please walk away with me
Please don't go with him
Bring your love to me
Log on to hide ad.
When you're in his arms
I can feel my heart crying
When he takes your hand
I can feel my soul dying
How could I be so blind
To lose a love that was only mine
All the stories that I heard were wrong
Without your love I can't go on
So bring your love to me
Darling, please don't you be a
No, don't go to him
I plopped down in my easy chair and turned on Channel 2
A bad gunslinger called Salty Sam was chasin' poor
Sweet Sue
He trapped her in the old sawmill and said with an evil
laugh,
"If you don't give me the deed to your ranch
I'll saw you all in half!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He turned on the bandsaw (and then, and then...!)
[Chorus:]
And then along came Jones
Tall thin Jones
Slow-walkin' Jones
Slow-talkin' Jones
Along came long, lean, lanky Jones
Commercial came on, so I got up to get myself a snack
You should've seen what was goin' on by the time that I
got back
Down in the old abandoned mine, Sweet Sue was havin'
fits
That villain said, "Give me the deed to your ranch
Or I'll blow you all to bits!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He lit the fuse to the dynamite (and then, and
then...!)
[Chorus]
I got so bugged I turned it off and turned on another
show
But there was the same old shoot-'em-up and the same
old rodeo
Salty Sam was tryin' to stuff Sweet Sue in a burlap
sack
He said, "If you don't give me the deed to your ranch
I'm gonna throw you on the railroad tracks!"
And then he grabbed her (and then)
He tied her up (and then)
He threw her on the railroad tracks (and then)
A train started comin' (and then, and then...!)
I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
I'll give you my heart
I love you and you alone were meant for me
Please give your loving heart to me
And say we'll never part
I think of you every morning
Dream of you every night
Darling, I'm never lonely
Whenever you are in sight
I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
I've given you my heart
I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
