Production

Perform's state-of-the-art sport production facility is specifically designed to focus on mobile and broadband content. It has proven itself over the years as a reliable and robust solution for delivering live, near-live video and long form content.

Live

PERFORM has 10 dedicated 270 Megabit SDI lines from BT Tower into the production facility in Feltham. In addition, Perform has readily available ad-hoc access to more direct lines to BT Tower and extensive satellite downlink capacity from three global satellite hubs all linked up to our central production facility via a high-speed MPLS network. This allows us to cost-effectively ingest content from all corners of the world.

Clip Production

To ensure a fast turnaround and the highest production standards, Perform use an Avid Integrated system across 20 purpose built edit suites and over 20 dedicated commentary booths. Perform's highly experienced professional editing team is comprised of 50 full time production staff, plus a core team of freelance commentators and producers. A significant volume of content is produced and delivered in multiple languages, which include; Spanish, Italian, German, French, Portuguese, Polish, Arabic and Mandarin.

Our encoding platform is comprised of 16 dedicated transcoders running on 16 dual processor multi-core servers which deliver over 5,000 encodes on a Premier League match day in 101 different video specifications. All content is controlled and managed by Perform's proprietary Content Management Platform.

In addition to the Premier League, our transcoding platform produces over 1 million video clips every year that are distributed across our platforms.

Outside Broadcast

To supplement and enhance Perform's live events platform; Perform manages outside broadcasts for partners such as Professional Darts Corporation, World Snooker, Premiership Rugby, ATP World Tour, WTA Tour and Professional Squash Association. The set-up includes purpose built Outside Broadcast trucks with the capability to output 2 feeds simultaneously with upwards of 8 cameras, live graphics and the ability to uplink via VSat or IP to our MCR.

Bespoke Programming

The final component of Perform's production department is the creative and format production team. Using the facilities listed above, this team produces bespoke television programming on behalf of clients such as RFU, ECB, LG, Nike and most famously managed all aspects of production for the ground-breaking exclusive live stream of the England vs Ukraine international featuring James Richardson and Sven Goran Eriksson. Perform also produces the OMNISPORT Bulletin, a 26 minute daily news bulletin that reviews the day's key sports news globally and previews all of tomorrow's big sporting events. This show is produced for all outputs including TV, web, mobile and IPTV.
