We caught the ferry over to Savaii to spend a few days. There are fales dotted all along the coastline so we thought that the best way to get in and experience the local lifestyle was to actually stay in a traditional fale. We stayed at Tanu Beach Fales and they provided a mattress and mosquito net and we slept right by the waters edge and went to sleep with the sound of the water lapping up on the sand. There is a lot to explore on this huge island and we visit the Saleaula Lava Field, swim with turtles at Satoalepai, throw coconuts in to the blow holes, cross the swinging bridge at Falealupo Canopy Walkway and hang out with some of the locals. You can find beautiful romantic resorts in Savaii and we stayed at Le Lagoto Resort with a elegant mix of traditional and modern decor. As soon as you walk in to this resort you know you are in a tropical paradise. A wonderful experience not to missed is their Sunday church service. Being a highly Christian country, there are churches of every denomination and Sunday is their day of church, family and rest. See the locals in their beautiful Sunday best and singing from the heart with their angelic voices. And at the end of the day we head to Falealupo Beach which is at the western most point of Samoa to see the first sunset in the world. Take a picnic and enjoy your stunning surrounds.

When deciding on a base in Southeast Asia we carefully thought about where to go. Soon it became a no brainer that Chiang Mai would be the perfect fit. Considering how affordable it is to live there in tandem with the amazing dining options certainly won us offer. Moreover, the Chiang Mai offers numerous top attractions and things to do. In our latest travel guide we attempt to highlight as many of our favorite attractions in Chiang Mai as possible: 1) Chiang Mai is famous for its night markets. We suggest starting off at the Sunday Night Market which is best explored from Thapea Gate. From handicrafts to silverware and from souvenirs to silks, you'll shop until you drop. In my opinion, an even better thing to do at the market is to indulge in as much Thai street food as possible. 2) Elephant tourism runs rampant in and around Chiang Mai. Unfortunately, the well being of the elephants is rarely a consideration. Visiting the Elephant Nature Park, known as an elephant sanctuary and rehabilitation center, is somewhere you can go to interact with elephants knowing full well they are being taken care of and not exploited. A trip to the park is a memorable experience that is both incredibly fun and extremely education. 3) From the roof of our apartment building we had often had unobstructed views of Doi Suthep. It was only a matter of time before we decide to take a Songthaew up to explore it on foot. Although it is very touristy, it is still well worth a visit - especially for the views of Chiang Mai! 4) Few cuisines are more famous around the world than Thai food. While you're in Chiang Mai be sure to take a cooking class to learn how to make all of your favorite Thai dishes. An even better idea is to go to the countryside where you can have a more authentic and rural cooking experience. 5) Although I love the Sunday Night Market my favorite night market in Chiang Mai happens on Saturday. Possibly because it is only a stone throw away from where we lived in Chiang Mai, I just enjoyed wandering through the maze of people and shops to eat as much Thai street food as possible. 6) You can't visit Chiang Mai without trying its most famous Northern Thai dish - Khao Soi. Crispy and soft noodles float around in a coconut milk base with various vegetables. It's delicious and one of the cheapest meal options in the city! 7) When you have time - and a friend to go with - reserve a table at a restaurant that specializes in Khantoke sets. Served with sticky rice and a plethora of small dishes you'll get a real sense of what Northern Thai food is all about. 8) Wander around the neighborhoods outside of the city center. A big part of why Chiang Mai is so charming has to do with its various neighborhoods. Get off the beaten path and just go explore around. Here we show you our neighborhood, which is not far from Chiang Mai South Gate. Having now visited Quebec City in both the summer and winter I'm officially naming it our favorite city in Canada. I've never visited a city where I felt such a radical difference between seasons. Coming back here in the winter felt like falling in love and rediscovering Quebec City all over again. We bundled up early on a Sunday morning to wander around the Old City before the masses converged. We ended up walking (or should I say sliding/skating) down Petit Champlain marveling at all of the festive and Christmas decorations before warming up next to a fire and then grabbing a hot chocolate, Nanaimo bar and cookies. Later we wandered down to the Saint Lawrence where we could see massive chunks of ice floating down the river. Finally, we checked out a few different vantage points where we could admire some of the best city views and snap photos of the Château Frontenac. Winter in Quebec City Travel Guide Video Transcript: Faster, horses! Faster! And how is the ice princess this morning? Doing very well. This morning we are heading in to the Old City. We're going to do a bit of a walking tour on our own. Let's head into town and check it out. We are about to enter the old city. There are real benefits to waking up early on a Sunday morning. We've practically got the old part of the city to ourselves. And what a different feel. In the summer it had a totally different vibe and now in the winter it's like an entirely new city to explore. So I just noticed there are railings all along the street and I think it is because it is so steep and it gets so icy in the wintertime that if they didn't have these babies people would just be sliding all the way down. Well, we've been sliding a lot anyways. Yes. So it is kind of cool being here in the winter because even though it is February it still feels like Christmas never left. Like we still have Christmas trees, Christmas lights, lots of red. So it feels very festive. Absolutely. We found a little place where to warm up. There is a little outdoor fireplace. It is our own personal fire place. And we really need it after all that walking. Put your legs up by the fire. It's a dragon! It's a snow dragon! A fire breathing dragon. Alright, it is time to warm up. Let's go for a hot chocolate and maybe even a cupcake. Yum yum. Lead the way. How is that hot chocolate? Mmmm. That is so good after that really really cold walk. Alright, it's time to lick your lips. You've got cream all over your face. There you go. That's some kind of classic Canadian food. Here we've got Nanaimo bars. Audrey is digging in. Very Canadian. Let's have that first bite. Mmmm. Sweet enough for you? It's such a nice breakfast. And I've got fudge and Bonhomme de Carnaval. And this guy has been really nice to me but unfortunately I'm going to have to take a bite out of his head. Sorry, Bonhomme. Does he taste good? He does. What do you have over there? And the last indulgence of the day - we've got pure maple sugar fudge. I'm not surprised you would go for that. You're always looking for fudge wherever we go. I don't have anything to say - it's just pure bliss. Now if you can believe it we were bonkers enough to be doing ice canoeing out in the Saint Lawrence with those massive chunks of ice. It was just one of the craziest things we've ever done. We can't wait to show you that video as well. So now we're working our way up to the Chateau Frontenac. That means climbing a lot of steps. I'm already out of breath. We still have a few more to go. Lead the way. It's a little steep and slippery over here. I almost feel like I could go snowboarding. Do it. Do it. And the concludes our walking tour of Old Quebec. Now we're going to head back to our hotel, warm up a little bit and get ready to do some more exploring in the afternoon. This is part of our Travel in Canada series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Canadian culture, Canadian arts, Canadian foods, Canadian religion, Canadian cuisine and Canadian people. We had heard Berlin was a city bursting with art and music and we were very excited to spend some time there. Here is our list of our favorite activities to do in the city. The following are the best 25 things to do in Berlin, Germany presented in our latest city top attractions travel guide: http://nomadicsamuel.com/photo-essays/25-things-to-do-in-berlin 1) Visit Berlin Wall - The East Side Gallery 2) Brandenburg Gate 3) Tiergarten 4) MauerPark Flohmarkt (MauerPark Flea Market) 5) Friedrichshain 6) Currywurst 7) Reichstag building 8) Tempelhof 9) Berlin's Museum Island 10) Holocaust Memorial - the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe 11) Charlottenburg Palace 12) Checkpoint Charlie 13) Alexanderplatz - The Berlin TV Tower 14) Ritter Sport 15) Berlin Cathedral 16) Currywurst Museum 17) Rent a bike and go riding 18) River spree boat tour 19) Eat a Wurst sausage 20) Friedrichshain Flohmarkt (flea market) 21) Eat a German Breakfast 22) Cat Cafe (Pee Pees Katzen Cafe) 23) Schnitzel and Spaetzle 24) U-bahn and S-bahn metro system 25) Turkish Food The East Side Gallery is the longest remaining strip of the of the former dividing wall between East and West Berlin. Today the 1.3 kilometer long wall stands as a memorial to freedom and it is covered in art and graffiti. Right now we're visiting Brandenburg Gate. This gate dates back to the 18th Century. We're here at Tiergarten, one of the biggest parks in the city. MauerPark is a hipster hangout. Every Sunday people flock to this park and spend the day barbecuing, listening to music, enjoying a few beers, and simply having a good time. There's a popular flea market where you can pick up old vinyls and clothes, and if you head over to the Bear Pit you can catch some karaoke and musical performances. If you want to spot some cool street art, then head over to Friedrichshain. You can't come to Berlin and not eat a Currywurst! This is the city's most popular fast food snack. The sausage is served with a ketchup and curry powder concoction. Up next we're at the Reichstag building which has a pretty cool glass dome on top. This dome is actually open to visitors and it offers 360 degree views of the city. Today we're visiting Tempelhof, a re-purposed airport here in Berlin for leisure activities and sports. If you enjoy museums and art galleries you'll want to visit Berlin's Museum Island. They actually have five different museums here and if you get a daily pass for 18 Euros you get access to all five. We are now visiting the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. It is also known as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Charlottenburg Palace is the largest palace in Berlin and the only surviving royal residence in the city. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the crossing points between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Located near Alexanderplatz, The Berlin TV Tower offers a great lookout over the city. Chocolate! Ritter Sport is a chocolate brand that is sold all over Germany, and while in Berlin we couldn't resist sampling a few of the different varieties. Berlin Cathedral is located on Museum Island and it's one of the most beautiful churches in the city. If Currywurst is to your liking, you'll want to check out this quirky museum devoted to Berlin's favorite sausage. Renting a bike is a great way to get around the city. Most places will rent out bikes at 10 Euros per day. For a leisurely afternoon, hop on a boat and enjoy a tour down the River Spree. Of course, you cannot come to Berlin and not eat a Wurst or a sausage. The Friedrichshain flea market takes place every Sunday and it's a great place for people watching and a little browsing. The Germans sure know how to enjoy a hearty breakfast, and we recommend you try it too. Breakfast usually offers a wide sampling of loafs and bread rolls, accompanied with various deli cuts and cheese. We couldn't resist visiting yet another cat cafe while we were in Berlin. While in Berlin we enjoyed a hearty meal of Schnitzel. This thin strip of meat is coated in flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs, before being deep-fried. You can order it with a side of mashed potatoes or German noodles known as Spaetzle. It's quite easy to get around Berlin using the U-bahn and S-bahn system. In Berlin, there is a big Turkish population and that means there is awesome Turkish street food. And that's Berlin for you! A city that has risen from the ashes of the war, which is now bursting with art, music, and life. Have you been to Berlin? We'd love to hear your favourite things about the city in the comments below. For more travel and food videos, hit subscribe! This is part of our Travel in Germany series. When visiting Montreal consider the following top 35 things to do in Montreal as a travel video guide for all of the best attractions in the city. There is no other city in Canada or the United States of America that can compare with Montreal in terms of its diversity and European flare. As a city of festivals (during the winter, fall, spring and summer) you're left with an inexhaustible amount of things to see and do in the city during all four seasons. During our time backpacking and traveling around Asia we spent more time in Thailand than any other country in SE Asia and for good reason. Unlike most tourists who visit Thailand, we decided to skip most of the beaches located in the southern regions of the country and instead focus most of our time in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai, our home away from home, became our base for several months and by the time we left we promised ourselves we'd return again in the near future. What makes Chiang Mai such a great base for foreigners? Firstly, it's cheap. You can find high quality serviced apartments for under $500 (some are less than $300) that offer modern amenities and are in located in close proximity to the old square of the city. Secondly, the food – both Thai and International – offers as much diverse selection as any city I've ever visited. If you want to gormandize on authentic Thai delights you'll have no shortage of options ranging from Thai street food to high class Thai restaurants. For the culture vulture, no shortage of opportunities exist to explore temples such as Doi Suthep, markets such as the Saturday night market or interact with animals such as at the Elephant Nature Park. When you get tired of Chiang Mai, the sleepy hillside town of Pai awaits where the pace is slower and you feel more like you're out in the countryside. Whether you love it or hate it, most journeys in Thailand begin and end in Bangkok. This steamy chaotic city offers some incredible temples to explore (such as Wat Arun and the Temple of the Mount) along with great shopping and nightlife. The following is a top attractions travel guide offering a snapshot of the best things to do in Thailand during your next vacation to Land of Smiles: 30 Things to do in Thailand Travel Guide and Top Attractions Travel Video Playlist: 1) Elephant Nature Park Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand 2) Pai, Thailand Travel Guide and Things to Do (ปาย) 3) Wat Arun (วัดอรุณ) 4) Eating Thai street food at the Chiang Mai Saturday Night Market Walking Street on Wua Lai Road 5) Eating delicious Khao Soi (Northern Thai Noodles: ข้าวซอย) at a restaurant in Chiang Mai Thailand 6) Learning How To Cook Thai Food at an organic Thai cooking school in Chiang Mai, Thailand 7) Visiting Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market to Eat Thai Street Food and to shop for Thai Souvenirs 8) Bangkok Water Taxi Boat Ride along a canal nearby Chao Phraya River to visit Wat Saket Temple 9) Our Neighborhood in Chiang Mai, Thailand | A tour of some Thai Buddhist temples, Thai homes and dogs 10) Thai Visa run border crossing from Mae Sai, Thailand to Tachilek, Myanmar (Burma) Travel Video 11) Eating the best Pad Thai ever (ผัดไทย) at Chang Chalaad Restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand 12) Eating the best Pad Thai ever (ผัดไทย) at Chang Chalaad Restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand 13) Feasting on Thai street food at the Chiang Mai Saturday Night Market | Thailand Travel Video 14) Riding our bicycles down the street during a flash flood in Chiang Mai, Thailand Travel Video 15) Visiting Wat Saket (The Golden Mount Temple) on a Buddhist holiday in Bangkok Thailand 16) Eating Northern Thai Cuisine Khantoke Set Feast (ขันโตก) for dinner in Chiang Mai, Thailand 17) Train Ride in Thailand from Chiang Mai to Bangkok Travel Video: Thai Railways การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย 18) Eating Korean Food in Thailand | Delicious Korean Meal (김치전 & 군만두) at the Korea House in Chiang Mai 19) Eating Mango Sticky Rice Thai Dessert (Khao Niaow Ma Muang: ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง) in Chiang Mai 20) Eating Thai Banana Pancakes Roti in Chiang Mai, Thailand | Thai Street Food Travel Video 21) Eating Thai Yellow Noodle Dumpling Soup at Chiang Mai Gate, Thailand | Thai Street Food Series 22) Flying from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, Thailand in first class (business class) with Thai Airways 23) Train Ride in Thailand from Bangkok to Chiang Mai including a word association game 24) Visiting Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand (วัดพระธาตุดอยสุเทพ) 25) Eating Thai Vegetarian Food at Pun Pun Restaurant at Wat Suan Dok in Chiang Mai, Thailand 26) Shopping at Thai Shopping Mall MBK (Mahboonkrong Center มาบุญครอง) in Bangkok, Thailand 27) Eating lunch at Salad Concept - a vegetarian friendly restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand 28) Tuk-Tuk Auto Rickshaw ride in Bangkok, Thailand with an update about our upcoming travel plans 29) Train journey from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, Thailand Time-Lapse Sequence Travel Video 30) Shopping For Thai Souvenirs in Chiang Mai Music by Kevin Mcleod under a creative commons attribution license. What do you do on your first day in your destination when you are jet-lagged and exhausted? Rushing from one historical monument or tourist attraction to the next on that first day sounds no fun. And staying in the hotel room all day is a no-no! So what do we do? In this video from Sevilla on my first full day in town, I was asking myself this very question. But lucky for me some cheerful locals came to my rescue. I met David, Javi, Anna and Jose-Antonio out for a typical, lazy, Sunday afternoon in Sevilla during the Spring. Turns out it was the perfect itinerary to distract me from my jet-lag and immerse me into local life. In the video we get a glimpse into the neighborhood of Alameda de Hercules. This part of town has a cultural energy that is really special. Not long ago it was known as a rough neighborhood. But Sevilla has been going through a transformation over the last few decades and this area has been revived as a hub for dining, living and gathering. Along the Alameda you can find locals enjoying themselves all day and all week long. During the weekend and holiday evenings the promenade is busy well into the night. It seems all demographics, young to old, can be found here intermingling. And in this neighborhood, you will find few tourists in comparison to the Jewish Quarter. This means you'll get an authentic perspective on local life. For info on where we ate and how to book an experience just like this come to the corresponding post on Travelwithkate.com: http://travelwithkate.com/2014/07/02/curing-jet-lag-with-tapas-in-sevilla-video/ PHOTO CREDIT: In the Travel with Kate opening sequence, the image behind Kate eating sushi (not of Kate) is by photographer Trey Ratcliff of http://www.stuckincustoms.com/

Tam Tam is a French word for Hand Drum. Every Sunday from May to Sept/October, at the base of Mont Royal, there is a free tam-tam event. People bring their drums, hackie sacs, dancing skills and other carnival type activities and everyone is able to participate. It has a seriously cool vibe and is definitely worth checking out!! VATICAN CITY - Pope Benedict XVI appealed for peace in the world's troublespots in his Easter Sunday message Benedict XVI (Latin: Benedictus PP. XVI; Italian...
Traditional Latin Mass filmed on Easter Sunday in 1941 at Our Lady of Sorrows church in Chicago. The film presents the ceremonies of the Missa Solemnis or Solemn High Mass in full detail with narration by then-Mgr. Fulton J. Sheen. Celebrated by Rev. J. R. Keane of the Order of Servites (hence the white habits and cowls), the ceremonies are accompanied by a full polyphonic choir, orchestra, and fifty Gregorian Chanters. The attention to detail in the ceremonies is impressive. Notice, for example, how the servers and ministers always take great care to move in order. Notice too that the servers are all almost identical in height. The Ordinary of the Mass, composed by Rev. Edwin V. Hoover, while pleasant in places, is very much a reflection of its time. The Proper on the other hand is timeless and sung admirably by a healthy throng of Seminarians from Mundelein, Illinois. Unfortunately due to size restrictions at Youtube around 20 mins have been cut from the original, however, I hope to upload a full version somewhere soon. In addition to the cuts I have added new captions and edited the opening credits which had deteriorated in the original. Other than this the film remains largely unchanged. Apologies for the error in the captions for the two parts of the Mass (software). The first part is of couse the Mass of the Catechumens, the second is the Mass of the Faithful.

The Telegraph India 2015-04-13Sunday (i/ˈsʌndeɪ/ or /ˈsʌndi/) is the day of the week between Saturday and Monday. For most Christians, Sunday is observed as a day for worship of God and rest, due to the belief that it is Lord's Day, the day of Christ's resurrection.
Sunday is a day of rest in most Western countries, part of 'the weekend'. In most Muslim countries, and Israel, Sunday is a working day.
According to the Hebrew calendars, traditional Christian calendars, Sunday is literally the "first day" of the week. According to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 8601 Sunday is the seventh and last day of the week.
No century in the Gregorian calendar starts on a Sunday, whether its first year is '00 or '01. The Jewish New Year never falls on a Sunday. (The rules of the Hebrew calendar are designed such that the first day of Rosh Hashanah will never occur on the first, fourth, or sixth day of the Jewish week; i.e., Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday).
The English noun Sunday derived sometime before 1250 from sunedai, which itself developed from Old English (before 700) Sunnandæg (literally meaning "sun's day"), which is cognate to other Germanic languages, including Old Frisian sunnandei, Old Saxon sunnundag, Middle Dutch sonnendach (modern Dutch zondag), Old High German sunnun tag (modern German Sonntag), and Old Norse sunnudagr (Danish and Norwegian søndag, Icelandic sunnudagur and Swedish söndag). The Germanic term is a Germanic interpretation of Latin dies solis ("day of the sun"), which is a translation of the Ancient Greek heméra helíou. The p-Celtic Welsh language also translates the Latin "day of the sun" as dydd Sul.
I met you on a saturday
And I met you on an easter sunday
I met you every single day
I met you when the tide came in
And I met you
In your soaking skin
And I met you, every single day
People come and shout about it
Fall about and laugh about it
I don't mind I can take it either way
