The Burgundians have one of the strongest shock cavalry units in the game (Royal Lancers) and arguably the best skirmish roster. Barbed javelinmen shred both infantry and cavalry alike with their high armor piercing, and Elite Germanic archers with 200 range and scattershot slingers with a bonus vs. infantry round out their roster. The Burgundians should focus on quick strikes with cavalry and skirmishing/kiting with their powerful ranged units. Infantry engagements typically wont go well for them
My opponent and I face off in what I felt like was a fun battle. Hope you enjoy!

What is Duchy of Burgundy? A report all about Duchy of Burgundy for homework/assignment The Duchy of Burgundy from 1032 existed as a successor of an ancient and prestigious patrimony and a large division of the lands of the Kingdom of the Burgundians. The duchy roughly conforms to the borders and territories of the modern region of Burgundy, but its dukes came to own considerable possession of numerous French and Imperial fiefs in the Low Countries known as the Burgundian Netherlands. In its own right, it was one of the larger ducal territories that existed at the time of the emergence of Early Modern Europe from Medieval Europe, reminiscent of the Middle Frankish realm of Lotharingia. The Burgundians always find a reason to celebrate, preferably while drinking their own wines and eating foie gras with truffles, but also in the face of unseasonable weather and a challenging harvest. Perhaps no year was as challenging as last year’s bottled vintage, 2012, with frost, hail, excessive rain, rot – everything but a plague of frogs causing vignerons to wring their hands. Despite this, winemakers such as Volnay producer Frédéric Lafarge remained steadfastly upbeat. Pointing to a corner of his cellar with conspicuously few barrels when I visited in spring of 2013, he noted that due to a massive hailstorm in the summer of 2012 yields were down by 80%. As I was about to offer my condolences, he smiled at me and said cheerily, ‘yes, but the 20% we have remaining is of fantastic quality!’ According to vigneron François Carillon, best known for his Premier Crus from Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet, despite a cool spring and rainy summer 2013 produced wines of beautiful freshness, with aromas of white flowers already emerging from the whites and notes of cherries at the forefront of the reds.

The Examiner 2015-02-24The Burgundians (Latin: Burgundiōnes; Old Norse: Burgundar; Old English: Burgendas; Greek: Βούργουνδοι) were an East Germanic tribe which may have emigrated from mainland Scandinavia to the island of Bornholm, whose old form in Old Norse still was Burgundarholmr (the Island of the Burgundians), and from there to mainland Europe.
The name of the Burgundians has since remained connected to the area of modern France that still bears their name: see the later history of Burgundy. Between the 6th and 20th centuries, however, the boundaries and political connections of this area have changed frequently; none of those changes have had anything to do with the original Burgundians. The name Burgundians used here and generally used by English writers to refer to the Burgundiones is a later formation and more precisely refers to the inhabitants of the territory of Burgundy which was named from the people called Burgundiones. The descendants of the Burgundians today are found primarily among the west Swiss and neighbouring regions of France.
