Kebab (or originally kabab) is a wide variety of meat dishes originating in Iran (Persia) and later on adopted in the Middle East, Turkey, South Asia and Asia Minor, that are now found worldwide. In North American English, kebab with no qualification generally refers more specifically to shish kebab served on the skewer. In the Middle East, however, kebab refers to meat that is cooked over or next to flames; large or small cuts of meat, or even ground meat; it may be served on plates, in sandwiches, or in bowls. The traditional meat for kebab is lamb, but depending on local tastes and taboos, it may now be beef, goat, chicken, pork; fish and seafood; or even vegetarian foods like falafel or tofu. Like other ethnic foods brought by travellers, the kebab has become part of everyday cuisine in many countries around the globe.

This doner kebab is a classic Turkish Food, a favourite of Istanbul locals. There is so many istanbul foods to try, but this one was one of my first. It was juicy and dripping red juice as the chef cut away layer after layer of heavenly lamb. You can find this as a turkish street food on the corners or you can have it at high class restaurants overlooking the city. I went for the middleground, and went to an average place that was recommended by a local friend.
In actuality, he told me that he has had better doner, but we had to settle for this one because the place with the best doner was closed for ramadan. As my first try of doner kebab

In actuality, he told me that he has had better doner, but we had to settle for this one because the place with the best doner was closed for ramadan. As my first try of doner kebab and one of my first tries of Istanbul food, I was really happy with the outcome. Juicy, nice lamb flavour, just the right amount of fat, a little crunchy from pickles, and a good amount of mayo to give it that nice extra kick. BOOM!
The only complaint I had was the wrap was a little too much bread, I like a full mouthful of meat and less bread, but this had like half and half.
This restaurant was in besiktas. The famous place for doner that we wanted to go was here:
Karadeniz Pide ve Döner, Beşiktaş Merkez
This place was right across the street from it.

Resep Membuat Kebab Turki Daging Sapi Sederhana
Kebab Turki
Resep kebab Turki Daging Sapi
Bahan kebab turki :
1 lembar Tortila (roti kebab)
1 sdt Margarin
25 gr Bawang bombay, iris tipis
25 gr Selada, iris tipis
25 gr Tomat, iris tipis
25 gr Timun, iris tipis
50 gr Irisan daging kebab
1 sdt Saus tomat, secukupnya
1 sdm Mayones, secukupnya
Cara Membuat kebab turki
1. Panggang tortila sebentar saja di atas pan atau wajan yang sudah dioles margarin hingga muncul bercak kecoklatan, angkat.
2. Tumis bawang bombay sebentar saja, hingga agak layu.
3. Letakkan tortila di atas piring, tata bawang bombay, selada, timun, dan tomat di tengah tortila dengan bentuk memanjang.
4. Semprotkan saus tomat dan saus sambal secukupnya di atas sayuran.
5. Tambahkan daging kebab di atasnya, ratakan bentuk memanjang.
6. Semprotkan mayones secukupnya di atas daging, lalu gulung tortila atau roti kebab dan padatkan.
7. Sajikan.
Resep Daging Kebab Turki
Bahan daging kebab turki :
½ kg Daging sapi, iris melintang serat
2 siung Bawang putih
2 cm Jahe
½ sdt Ketumbar
100 cc Yoghurt rasa plan
3 buah Cabai merah
Garam, secukupnya
Lada, secukupnya
Cara Membuat daging kebab turki :
1. Cuci bersih daging sapi, pukul-pukul daging hingga agak melebar.
2. Haluskan bumbu cabai merah, bawang putih, jahe dan ketumbar.
3. Campurkan daging sapi dengan bumbu halus, hingga daging berbumbu rata.
4. Beri yoghurt, garam dan lada secukupnya. Diamkan kurang lebih 10 menit.
5. Setelah bumbu meresap, panggang daging hingga matang.

This doner kebab is a classic Turkish Food, a favourite of Istanbul locals. There is so many istanbul foods to try, but this one was one of my first. It was juicy and dripping red juice as the chef cut away layer after layer of heavenly lamb. You can find this as a turkish street food on the corners or you can have it at high class restaurants overlooking the city. I went for the middleground, and went to an average place that was recommended by a local friend.
In actuality, he told me that he has had better doner, but we had to settle for this one because the place with the best doner was closed for ramadan. As my first try of doner kebab and one of my first tries of Istanbul food, I was really happy with the outcome. Juicy, nice lamb flavour, just the right amount of fat, a little crunchy from pickles, and a good amount of mayo to give it that nice extra kick. BOOM!
The only complaint I had was the wrap was a little too much bread, I like a full mouthful of meat and less bread, but this had like half and half.
This restaurant was in besiktas. The famous place for doner that we wanted to go was here:
Karadeniz Pide ve Döner, Beşiktaş Merkez
