Usage Instructions

Accessing the SoftNAS StorageCenter(tm) instance from EC2 on your browser is very easy. Simply follow the steps given below.

1. Launch the instance and once it is running copy the public dns and instance ID (starts with an 'i-')

2. Paste the DNS into browser window (ex: https://Public DNS) An authenication Required dialog will be displayed

3. Enter the username 'softnas' and password as the instance ID starting with 'i-.' Click OK. The initial License Agreement page will be displayed. The web browser may warn you that the web address is not secure. Simply accept this warning and proceed with the site.

4. Read the SoftNAS license agreement and click I Agree button to accept the same.

The Welcome and Release Notes of SoftNAS Storage Center will be displayed. From here, you can access all the features and functions of SoftNAS Storage Center. - See link for video: https://www.softnas.com/wp/support/tutorial-how-to-videos/tutorial-amazon-ec2/

Pricing Details

For region

You can use one instance of this product without paying any software charges for 30 days. AWS infrastructure charges will still apply, unless you use this product on a Micro instance, use less than 750 hours per month and qualify for AWS Free Usage Tier. Free Trials will automatically convert to a paid subscription upon expiration. Note that Free Trials are only applicable for hourly subscriptions, but you can opt to purchase an annual subscription at any time.

Hourly Fees

Total hourly fees will vary by instance type and EC2 region.

Software annual pricing savings over hourly: 10%

Savings is based on the difference between the annual price and running the software at the hourly price for 24 hours over 365 days.
