Isaac Alvarez Cardenas is a member of the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan (Qua-wheel-tek-can) Nation, a Native American Indian, son of an Apache mother and a Coahuiltecan father, raised in the inner city west side of San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Cardenas married to his wife Sylvia for 34 years, and is a father and grandfather of two young adult sons, Michael Isaac White Cliff and Jason Adam Black Cliff, wife Marissa and Grandchildren Nicholas and Kylee Anabella Cardenas. Isaac is currently working as Director of Programs for the American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT-SCM) "Rites of Passage Program". He was also involved in the conceptualizing, of the Avance's "Fatherhood" project in 1988 bringing male involvement to San Antonio. Mr. Cardenas is a graduate with a Masters degree in Science, Psychology Counseling, at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Isaac is also a Mental Health Psychotherapist working with AIT-SCM's "Healing the Wounded Spirit" and other Mental Health Clinics in the city. Isaac designed a program providing services for Native American Indian, Alaska Natives and Pacific Islanders that is culturally inclusive for mental health programs and treatment centers. Isaac is also the prayer and spiritual leader for the, Coahuiltecan Nation. It should be noted that Mr. Cardenas has chosen to reside in the inner city, working with high-risk, minorities, children, families, and youth for over twenty years. The purpose, to strengthen the family, and community by providing, culturally competent, mental wellness, information, education, spiritual support, health, parenting, social, emotional enlightenment.

El Paso alberga la Universidad de Texas en El Paso, fundada en 1914, así como el campus de ciencias de la salud de la Universidad Tecnológica de Texas. Además en la ciudad se encuentra una importante base militar llamada Fort Bliss, la cual es una instalación militar del Ejército de los Estados Unidos ubicado al noreste de la ciudad que se extiende hacia el norte hasta White Sands Missile Range. Existe evidencia arqueológica en Keystone Wetlands y Hueco Tanks que indican que estos sitios albergaron asentamientos humanos desde hace miles de años en la región de El Paso. Los primeros exploradores españoles encontraron pueblos mansos, sumas y jumanos habitando la región que fueron asimilados por la población que se asentó, integrándose a una cultura mestiza. The Jumano Indians are a prominent indigenous tribe or several tribes, who inhabited a large area of western Texas, adjacent New Mexico, and northern Mexico, especially near the La Junta region. Spanish explorers first recorded encounters with the Jumano in 1581; later expeditions noted them in a broad area of the Southwest and the Plains. The last historic reference was in a nineteenth century oral history but their population declined by the early eighteenth century.
Scholars have generally argued that the Jumano disappeared as a distinct people by 1750 due to infectious disease, the slave trade, and warfare, with remnants absorbed by the Apache or Comanche. But as of 2008, self-identified Jumano-Apache in Texas have registered 400-500 members with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in an effort to be recognized as a tribe.
Spanish records from the 16th to the 18th century frequently refer to the Jumano Indians, and they are noted by the French in areas to the east as well. During the last decades of the seventeenth century, they were noted as traders and political leaders in the Southwest. Contemporary scholars are uncertain whether the Jumano were a single people organized into discrete bands or whether the Spanish used Jumano as a generic term to refer to several different groups, as the references spanned peoples across a large geographic area.

Isaac Alvarez Cardenas is a member of the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan (Qua-wheel-tek-can) Nation, a Native American Indian, son of an Apache mother and a Coahuiltecan father, raised in the inner city west side of San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Cardenas married to his wife Sylvia for 34 years, and is a father and grandfather of two young adult sons, Michael Isaac White Cliff and Jason Adam Black Cliff, wife Marissa and Grandchildren Nicholas and Kylee Anabella Cardenas. Isaac is currently working as Director of Programs for the American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions (AIT-SCM) "Rites of Passage Program". He was also involved in the conceptualizing, of the Avance's "Fatherhood" project in 1988 bringing male involvement to San Antonio. Mr. Cardenas is a graduate with a Masters degree in Science, Psychology Counseling, at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Isaac is also a Mental Health Psychotherapist working with AIT-SCM's "Healing the Wounded Spirit" and other Mental Health Clinics in the city. Isaac designed a program providing services for Native American Indian, Alaska Natives and Pacific Islanders that is culturally inclusive for mental health programs and treatment centers. Isaac is also the prayer and spiritual leader for the, Coahuiltecan Nation. It should be noted that Mr. Cardenas has chosen to reside in the inner city, working with high-risk, minorities, children, families, and youth for over twenty years. The purpose, to strengthen the family, and community by providing, culturally competent, mental wellness, information, education, spiritual support, health, parenting, social, emotional enlightenment.

El Paso es la segunda ciudad más importante a lo largo de la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México, después de San Diego. Se encuentra frente a Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua; México, ciudades separadas por el Río Bravo o Río Grande. Entre ambas forman un área metropolitana de dos millones y medio de personas.
El Paso alberga la Universidad de Texas en El Paso, fundada en 1914, así como el campus de ciencias de la salud de la Universidad Tecnológica de Texas. Además en la ciudad se encuentra una importante base militar llamada Fort Bliss, la cual es una instalación militar del Ejército de los Estados Unidos ubicado al noreste de la ciudad que se extiende hacia el norte hasta White Sands Missile Range. La Montaña Franklin se localizan adentro de El Paso, extendiéndose desde el norte, dividiendo claramente a la ciudad en dos secciones.

Los primeros exploradores españoles encontraron pueblos mansos, sumas y jumanos habitando la región que fueron asimilados por la población que se asentó, integrándose a una cultura mestiza. Otros pueblos habrían de integrarse con los mescaleros, quienes por muchos años habrían de asolar la región.
