A judge in Marion County, Oregon, is under investigation after he reportedly refused to perform same-sex marriages when it was legalized in the state.

The state Commission on Judicial Fitness and Disability, which is conducting the ethics investigation, will not comment on the probe into Judge Vance Day's actions, leaving it unclear exactly why Day is being investigated.

But numerous local news outlets reported on Thursday that the investigation is related to Day's decision not to marry same-sex couples.

The recall election for the three Jefferson County school board members who pushed for changes to the AP U.S. History curriculum will be placed on the general November ballot, the county clerk announced on Thursday.

Critics of the school board majority submitted recall petitions in July. Board members Ken Witt, Julie Williams and John Newkirk have been criticized by parents and students for an attempt to make sure the AP U.S. History course emphasized "positive aspects of the United States and its heritage." The plan was nixed after students staged walk-outs protesting the proposed changes. Parents are also concerned about the board's stance on school choice and teacher turnover in the Colorado district.

After conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt stumped Donald Trump with questions about the Iran Revolutionary Guard's special Quds Force, Laura Ingraham rushed to the real estate mogul's defense by attacking Hewitt's tactics.

Trump confused the Quds force with the Kurdish ethnic group in the Middle East, and was also unable to answer Hewitt's questions about the leaders of world terror organizations. Trump whined about the host's "gotcha" questions, and called Hewitt a "third-rate radio announcer" on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

A Louisiana police officer was fired on Wednesday after a photo of him giving a Nazi salute at a rally in North Carolina surfaced on Facebook, according to Acadiana news station KATC.

The Lake Arthur council on Wednesday voted unanimously to fire Raymond Mott, who is pictured on the far left wearing what appears to be KKK insignias. During the council meeting, Mott, a police officer with the Lake Arthur force, said that his firing was unfair and that the photograph was taken out of context.

Both the lawyer representing Kentucky clerk Kim Davis and her husband said on Friday that despite being jailed for repeatedly refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, Davis will not resign and will remain in jail.

On Friday morning, Joe Davis (pictured above), Kim's husband, held a sign outside the Rowan County Courthouse that read, "Welcome to Sodom and Gomorrah."

"She won't resign, I promise you," he said, according to The Courier-Journal. "Until something gives, she'll be there."

The U.S. economy grew by 173,000 jobs in August, while the unemployment rate dropped to 5.1 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on Friday.

Donald Trump on Friday morning weighed in on Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who has been jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, arguing that while the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage should be followed, clerks who object should be able to opt out.

"The decision came down from the Supreme Court," Trump said when asked about Davis on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "So I’m a believer in both sides of the picture."

Jeb Bush on Thursday said that Kentucky clerk Kim Davis "is sworn to uphold the law," and that there should be a way for people to stay true to their beliefs while still allowing same-sex couples to get married.

"It seems to me that there ought to be common ground, there ought to be a big enough space for her to act on her conscience, and for now that the law is the law of the land, for a gay couple to be married in whatever jurisdiction that is," Bush told reporters after a town hall event in New Hampshire, according to Buzzfeed News. "I’m a little confused about why that can’t be done."

As Kentucky clerk Kim Davis refuses to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, the Republican presidential candidates have split on whether Davis should have to comply with the recent Supreme Court ruling. Davis has said she's defying the law "on God's authority."

All of the candidates who have weighed in have expressed opposition to gay marriage, but while some have defended Davis, others have called on her to follow the law.

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly brought on Jorge Ramos on Wednesday night, where the two got into a heated debate over Ramos' role as an anchor at Spanish language television network Univision.

After the two discussed their disagreements over building a wall at the southern border and undocumented immigrants, O'Reilly challenged Ramos over his reporting style. The Univision anchor recently got kicked out of a Donald Trump press conference temporarily for asking the candidate a question without first being called on.
