The Rapture Puzzle - September 23/24, 2015 - Judgment Day

Jesus’ first coming had been prophesied by many prophets in the Old Testament; the most referred to prophecy is Daniel’s 70-week prophecy where Daniel prophesied a period of 69 weeks, beginning with a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until the Messiah the Prince (Daniel 9:24). The Jews were well aware of this prophecy and new the timing of Jesus’ birth. The evil king Herod also was aware of this and he sought to kill Him by having all the male children under 2 years of age killed. So it is clear that God wanted the Jews to know the time Jesus, the prophesied Messiah, was to come, as it fell exactly on the date that Daniel had prophesied. In the same way He expects us to know the exact timing of Jesus’ return for His church. If it was not so, He would ever have left us all these clues in the Bible such as the 1260, 1290 & 1335 day counts, or the Feast days which He called `His appointed times` and were meant to be practiced every year as a rehearsal for a future event. We see that Jesus fulfilled the first 4 Feasts (also called the Spring Feasts) right at their appointed time without fail. I believe, without a doubt, that He will fulfill the remaining 3 Feasts (also called the Autumn/Fall Feasts) also at their appointed times without fail. The Bible says “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets” - Amos 3:7. God, through His grace, gave many prophets in the Bible a glimpse of many future events, some of which have come to pass and others are yet to come to pass. The reason He gives prophecy to His people is so that when the prophecy gets fulfilled, ‘His people can be reassured that God is fully in control and give glory to Him’. He also gives prophecies as a warning in the event of calamities. The book of Revelation is filled with symbols too and I believe that the entire Bible, including the Old Testament, is riddled with such clues and symbols. A case in point is the Feasts of the Lord, which God ordered Moses and the Israelites to observe in Leviticus 23. At the time the Lord instructed them to celebrate the Passover feast, they had no idea that this was a foreshadowing of the coming of Christ who would be sacrificed in a similar manner as the Passover lamb. The Lord knew well in advance that He would send His Son to die for man’s sins. The seven Feasts of the Lord (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement & Tabernacles) are ALL centered around Jesus C

Migrants mourned by Sicilian locals after more bodies are recovered

A traditional annual religious feast day in the Sicilian port city of Catania has this year been used to mourn the deaths of 49 migrants Their bodies were found on Saturday after having suffocated inside the hold a boat carrying them from Libya to Italy. Instead of the usual fireworks, 49 balloons were released into the air in honour of the victims..Italy’s navy rescued more than 300 other passengers on board the same boat. The deaths are a grim reminder of how dangerous the passage across the Mediterranean Sea can be. So far this year more than 2,000 have died in the attempt. According to the Geneva based International Organisation for Migration, the number of migrants who have successfully crossed the Mediterranean in 2015 is approaching a quarter of a million, compared with 219,000 for all of last year. Saturday’s 49 are to be buried in Catania’s cemetery.

The 24 Hour Party Playwright is an event part of the Bondi Feast Festival presented by Rock Surfers Theatre Company. Six playwrights were tasked with writing a short play based on a stimulus received at Friday 7pm to be submitted at 7am the following morning. Directors and actors rehearsed the play throughout the day and they were performed at 7:30pm Saturday evening. Mission Santa Barbara, also known as Santa Barbara Mission, is a Spanish mission founded by the Franciscan order near present-day Santa Barbara, California. It was founded by Padre Fermín Lasuén on December 4, 1786, the feast day of Saint Barbara, as the tenth mission for the religious conversion of the indigenous local Chumash—Barbareño tribe of Native American people. The mission is the namesake of the city of Santa Barbara as well as Santa Barbara County. The Mission grounds occupy a rise between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, and were consecrated by Father Fermín Lasuén, who had taken over the presidency of the California mission chain upon the death of Father Presidente Junípero Serra. Mission Santa Barbara is the only mission to remain under the leadership of the Franciscan Friars since its founding, and today is a parish church of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
