My Australia: Sydney 2015
My week in Sydney, Australia was simply the most memorable week I can recall. ..Maybe I'm being a bit biased since it's quite recent but it was a week for the ages and I got a chance to spend it with an incredible host who I met in Guangzhou, China 6 weeks prior. I call her the Queen of Australia and the goddess of Oceania because she's quite something to behold...an incredible human being!

Sydney Vacation Travel Guide - Travel Australia 2015
Perched on the East Coast of Australia, Sydney, is the vibrant capital of New South Wales.
The Sydney Tower is the perfect way to get acquainted with the city. From Circular Quay it's possible to get almost anywhere else in the city. Nearby is Sydney Harbour Bridge. Just across it is Luna Park, renowned for its vintage fairground rides.
A short ferry ride from Luna Park is Darling Harbour, home to the National Maritime Museum. A few blocks away is the Powerhouse Museum.
Sydney Opera House is Sydney's most iconic sight. Behind it are the Royal Botanic
Gardens and the Sydney Domain, containing Government House, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Across the Pyrmont Bridge is the Sydney Sea Life Aquarium. More creatures can be found at the Wild Life Sydney and Taronga Zoo.
Bondi Beach is famed for its sands. The seaside suburb of Manly provides a quieter beach experience. The coastal paths to North Head offer stunning views of Sydney from afar.

Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia. Sydney's urban area is in a coastal basin, which is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Blue Mountains to the west, the Hawkesbury River to the north and the Royal National Park to the south.
The most important places to visit in Sydney are: Sydney Opera House (among the world's most recognized landmarks. Set on the Sydney harbor, it is an unforgettable sight), Sydney Harbor Bridge (simply called "the bridge" by locals, courageous ones can even climb up the bridge), Bronte Beach (lesser known than Bondi, it is a beautiful beach, popular amongst families), Blue Mountains (an unspoiled mountain range filled with Eucalyptus trees. It is located 30 miles from Sydney, and there are plenty of hiking trails), Bondi Beach (Sydney's most famous beach, its lively promenade is as exciting as the beach) and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Sydney travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Sydney, Australia's oldest city, was founded in 1788 by Arthur Phillip. He lead a fleet of 11 ships with British convicts sent to this remote destination to relieve the overcrowded British jails.
Few of those aboard this 'First Fleet' could have imagined their small settlement would grow into a large cosmopolitan metropolis.
Today Sydney is one of Asia-Pacific's most popular tourist destinations thanks to its sunny weather, fine beaches and great landmarks like the Opera House.

Hey guys! Alexis Joy, from www.alexisjoyvipaccess.com here! In April 2015, I went on a mesmerizing and remarkable trip to the "Land Down Under" - Sydney, Australia. I was blessed to go for the very first time to Sydney, Australia in 2013 and INSTANTLY fell in love with the country. From the relaxed, laid-back vibe to all the breathtaking wonders like the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, I was yearning to go back ever since my last trip. I had the most phenomenal time returning back to Sydney, Australia and on this trip I was able to see the Sydney Opera House again, go to the Taronga Zoo and have the once in a lifetime opportunity to CLIMB THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE!
Since I can't take you all with me on the trip, I wanted to take you all virtually around Sydney, Australia! See my trip in 3 minutes as I show you Sydney, Australia's greatest landmarks and show you things to do in Sydney!

Hope to meet many more viewers all across the world - until then, comment below and tell me or tweet me at @alexisjoyvipacc / @thealexisjoy what YOU would like to see more on this channel? Where do YOU want to see me do another "Exploring ... With Alexis Joy" video - I want to know!
XOXO,
Alexis Joy

My week in Sydney, Australia was simply the most memorable week I can recall. ..Maybe I'm being a bit biased since it's quite recent but it was a week for the ages and I got a chance to spend it with an incredible host who I met in Guangzhou, China 6 weeks prior. I call her the Queen of Australia and the goddess of Oceania because she's quite something to behold...an incredible human being!
She really set the highest standard possible for what every vacation week should be. I tried so much and did even more and said "wow" more than a million times. Every moment felt so natural and special and of course the foods were as delicious as they were diverse. Omelettes, meat pies, pizzas, even sweet potatoes and regular fries delivered such tantalizing flavors to my senses. And of course I can't forget the people...The people in Sydney were extremely welcoming, friendly and adorable with hospitality and "tiny crowds." I often joked about how cute and tiny the crowds were and how fast and seamless you could get things done even during the supposedly "crowded" Vivid events (there's only about 4.5 million people in Sydney so the crowds were pretty small compared to other places I've visited, especially Shanghai, China.)
I did occasionally forget about the driving on the left side of the road and of course walking on the same side as well. Apparently, I crossed the streets extremely slowly. This trip truly expanded my horizon in every area imaginable and my passion for traveling has only been infused with more energy. There's so much to do, so much to taste and so much to experience. God grant me the strength because I am forever an Explorer and I refuse to age with regrets of things and places I didn't do and go! I do hope to see the Queen again. I certainly owe her one and I've made it clear to her that if she ever sets foot in North America, I'd be her host and I'll do my best to return the favor. Please enjoy our summary video below and live vicariously through me! http://humoredin.com/myaustralia/

There was never a sight quite like it before - the day Sydney erupted in wild celebration following its successful bid for the 2000 Olympic Games.
News of the historic decision was presented by 9NEWS anchor Brian Henderson on September 24, 1993 following an entire day of festivities across the city.
Sixty thousand people had waited anxiously at Circular Quay in the early hours of the morning, watching a live video link of then IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch as he delivered the now famous line: “the winner is Sydney!”
The crowd erupted in applause following the announcement, rejoicing at the privilege of hosting the world's biggest sporting event.
Large crowds also celebrated the news at Penrith and Homebush Bay - the future site of Sydney Olympic Park - in incredible scenes rivalling those of the then-recent bicentennial celebrations.
Sydney Harbour was the setting for an impressive fireworks and laser show against the backdrop of an Olympic-themed Sydney Opera House.

Many revellers continued their partying well into Friday morning, with pandemonium on George Street as celebrations moved into the city.
Then-NSW Premier John Fahey was present in Monte Carlo during the announcement, and said that “it’s been coming for a long long time – you can wish for it all you want, you still got to make it work.”
Also present was Rod McGeoch, CEO of the Sydney bid, as well as then-Prime Minister Paul Keating.

9NEWS Foreign Correspondent Robert Penfold called the bidding “uncomfortably close”, with Sydney narrowly outbidding favourite Beijing by a margin of just two votes – 45 to 43.
Beijing would later play host to the 2008 Summer Olympics, and is also set to host the 2022 Winter Olympics – the first ever Olympic Winter Games to be held in China.
Sydney would go on to host what Juan Antonio Samaranch would proclaim “the best Olympic Games ever”, with key events from the Games leaving a lasting impression on an audience of billions.
Cathy Freeman’s 400 metres gold medal win would quickly become an iconic sporting moment - the victory seen by 112,524 spectators inside the stadium and countless more watching at home.

Australia secured a total of 58 medals during the course of the 2000 Games, including 16 gold medals.
The successful bid also led to the 2000 Summer Paralympics being held in Sydney – Australia went on to dominate the Paralympics medal tally with 149 medals, including 63 gold.

George Street became party central on Friday morning as revellers refused to quit following an unforgettable night. (9NEWS)

Australia secured a total of 58 medals during the course of the 2000 Games, including 16 gold medals.
The successful bid also led to the 2000 Summer Paralympics being held in Sydney – Australia went on to dominate the Paralympics medal tally with 149 medals, including 63 gold.

Watch O'Sullivan at halfway (7:58) when she had drifted back because the pace was very hot. Surprisingly the leaders slowed the pace and allowed her back into the race. She took the opportunity and had a marvellous second half. There is a wonderful commentary for the last 400 metres by Steve Cram.
