A crucifix (from Latin cruci fixus meaning "(one) fixed to a cross") is an independent image of Jesus on the cross with a representation of Jesus' body, referred to in English as the corpus (Latin for "body"), as distinct from a cross with no body.
The crucifix is a principal symbol for many groups of Christians, and one of the most common forms of the Crucifixion in the arts. It is especially important in the Catholic Church, but is also used in Orthodox and Eastern Catholic, as well as Anglican, and Lutheran churches, (though less often in other Protestant churches), and it emphasizes Jesus' sacrifice — his death by crucifixion, which Christians believe brought about the redemption of mankind. Western crucifixes usually have a three-dimensional corpus, but in Eastern Orthodoxy Jesus's body is normally painted on the cross, or in low relief. Strictly speaking, to be a crucifix the cross must be three-dimensional, but this distinction is not always observed. A painting of the Crucifixion of Jesus including a landscape background and other figures is not a crucifix either.

The music of 2 Live Crew was his introduction to hip-hop; he began listening to West Coast gangsta rap such as N.W.A and Too Short and the Atlanta duo OutKast. With rapping as a hobby, Mathis was a tight end and linebacker for his high school's football team and earned All-Region honors in his senior year.Steve Herndon, a former offensive lineman for the NFL teams Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos, played football with Mathis during high school, according to an interview with Down-South.com. In 2007, he moved from Atlanta to Tampa.

We will trample on our children til this world is flooded red, no boundary
For depravity, no silence for the dead, now weep for the life that you've
Lead. We will follow vacant voices into a shallow grave, reiterate the
Verses of some self consuming slave, now pay for the hell that you praise.
Every curse, lie, violation of our lives. Every careless shallow breath,
Corruption of our minds. All the blood and the shame, defamation of name.
The weight of a wicked world embodied on a thankless - crucifix. Embodied
On a blood soaked - crucifix.
The sacrament is broken, and all I see is red, the idols of humanity they
Tower overhead. Now weep for the life that you've lead, the gates have
Severed open, setting death upon this place, compelling us to hope in a
Revolting human race. Now pay for the hell that you praise.
Every curse, lie, violation of our lives. Every careless shallow breath,
Corruption of our minds. All the blood and the shame, defamation of name.
The weight of a wicked world embodied on a thankless - crucifix. Embodied
On a blood soaked - crucifix.
My - Eyes - Have - Seen.
Sometimes I close my eyes to escape this crooked place, it seems these
Fools will never learn, I guess it's easy to see the world the way I do,
The emptiness is a promise, the sin is just the proof.
Embodied on a thankless - crucifix.
here we stand with a passion for life
a world without hate, no violence no strife

a world without war where we can be free
our future, our

a search for life in this dirty world
a cry of pain and anguish for love
[chorus]
the twisted
and tortured yearning for love
searching for the sun in this fuckin dirty world
no powers to control us,stand for freedom
no wars to kill us, work for peace
[chorus]

[chorus]
tagged as a refugee, burden on the state
another mouth to feed a

[chorus]
your're no longer human, something that's sickly
to be looked down by the rest of society
We condemn all military action
the power and destruction
the force used against our will
the useless blood they
spill
just a matter of time, how when and where
the guns and bombs are very real
they're meant for use against you and me
maybe you'll soon discover
that it's not for defence or any peaceful matter
just a matter of time, how when and where
your
desparate laugh aint for fun
count your days one by one
like sheep you go in for the slaughter
you don't even bother to
ask what for.

[Intro]
From dehumanization, to arms production,
for the benefit of the nation, or its destruction,
power is power, it's the law of the land,
those who live for death, would die by their own hands.
Life is no ordeal, if you can come to terms,
reject the system, which dictates the norm,
from dehumanization, to arms production,
for the benefit of the nation, or its destruction,
it's your choice: PEACE or ANNIHILATION!
Annihilation is to one, the means to an end,
Armageddon the war to end all wars, the extremists' end,
Annihilation annihilation annihilation,
self destruction destruction destruction,
The streets are on fire, death in our wake,
cars overturned, bodies are raped,
you go on preaching, religious dogma,
while paying for and sanctioning, vicious murders,
Annihilation annihilation annihilation,
praise destruction destruction destruction,
The streets are on fire, death in our wake,
cars overturned, seen it before,
annihilation is to one, the means to end,
Armageddon the war to end all wars, the extremists' end,
You go on and play with peoples lives,
using their minds,
you want total control, stay in line
Annihilation annihilation annihilation, the judgement day
There is no environmental protection
our earth is fucked from exploitation
from strip mining to offshore drilling
industry vreated pollution
three miles to oblivion
three miles to death
three miles to extinction
the clear dangers of
nuclear power
are so imminent they can't be ignored
adn we know no way to dispose of it
the chances for disaster are
greater
[chorus]
we're not gonna wait for the meltdown
nor will we just stand still
i ask you how much is too much
when we
have the leakes and spills
Youth and violence, youth don't fight
i see no humour when someone's getting hurt
when the lights go down, everythings a
fucking blur
you fight out on the streets, you take it on the dance floor
you take your aggression but the cops are at
our door
[chorus]
scenes have died this one may soon follow
do you know what you're gonna do or where you're gonna go
better get your head straight cos something's gotta change
or you'll find out you'll be all alone in the end
[chorus]
on fighting amongst yourselves, do you think i fucking care
but when you gight amonst yourselves, you ruin it for yourself
you dont need the violence to prove you are a man
or are you too fucking blind to ever understand
country to country, you'e treated like shit
one camp to another, where do you fit
you fled your life with nothing but the
clothes on your back
you think you've found freedom, you've fallen for the trap
you have not money, no friends from

Born weeks premature not to everyone's delight
crippled from malnutrtion, another unwanted child
she cradled him in her
arms while she brushed away the flies
praying that her newborn can survive through the night
it's a shame to give birth in
a world that is dirt
what kind of life can she give when she has nothing to offer
she held him to her breast, a future they
can't even hope for
a reality she can't escape, numbed to the cold and despair
victim of greed, the poor never get their
share
it's a shame to give birth in a world thats dirt
the stifling heat of the night, mother and child on the ground
pain and the sadness, children scavenge for what van be found
they try to hide the poverty but poverty can't be hidden
covering up a lie with another lie it's the way of the system
their solution to hunger is a dime from here and there
still they support the arms and i don't believe they care
and the millions go on starving to preserve the american dream
they pile up more statistics to prove that's how it's always been
when morning came, her baby died, she could do nothing
but weap
something broke inside of her, something frail and weak
she accepts death a a part of life that is lonely and
final
accepts a life of poverty, then she closed her eyes to sleep
weighing the burdens, maybe it's better off to die
These men bought by prejudice
their laws not made for justice
their live, i want no part of this, your death , dig your
own grave or go your own way
who are these men running with guns
what pleasures do they find as death comes
murdering
idiots they walk our streets
take a body count, are your figures complete
[chorus]
governments don't care they make no
distinctions
ten tons for eac, take no ultimatumn
how will you feel, the proud falther of a corpse
bearing children with
no chance for survival
[chorus]
for the architects of hate
they build their cities upon ignorance and prejudice
technologies and advancements are created to squander lives
from them there's no place to run
nowhere to hide
[chorus]
live and die that can't be wrong
they'll see you dead before too long
their treacherous ways to get at you
atrocities are
Too many times i've wished i had said
all the thoughts that were in my head
to all the people that i adore
the splendor
never rises to what it's for
i've had enough, i've said enough
this picture paints a thousand words
behind this image,
the feelings never heard
you tell me to forgive and forget
but my love can only hurt
[chorus]
the curtains have finally
closed
from the ruins i finally rose
to the melancholy of another day
this fate i can never betray
[chorus]
this is my
Riding towards the war,
Like noble ancient knights.
Down on their knees they fall,
Before the evil eyes.
[Solo]
The symbol of salvation under darkened clouds,
Facing demons that fell from above.
The legions of pure evil marching through our world,
And the eyes of the grave turn so cold.
The modern martyr calling from the lost millennium.
Trust in the word and they,
Die by the crucifix.
Drifting further away,
Into a night of mist.
Preachers of the fallen temple,
Struggling on to raise the crucifix.
Disciples worship icons in their church of gold,
While the masses keep walking on by.
Scriptures of wisdom fading on the walls of stone,
As a flower when winter arrives.
The modern martyr calling from the lost millennium.
Riding towards the war,
Like noble ancient knights.
Down on their knees they fall,
Before the evil eyes.
Preachers of the fallen temple,
Struggling on to raise the crucifix.
[Solo]
The choir of angels standing by the monument,
Singing praise lead by this harmony.
As darkness falls in the protected paradise,
The world outside still waits for the feast.
Trust in the word, and they,
Die by the crucifix.
Trust in the word, yes they,
Die by the crucifix.
Drifting further away,
Into a night of mist.
Riding towards the war,
Like noble ancient knights.
Down on their knees they fall,
Before the evil eyes.
Preachers of the fallen temple,
I can't forget what seemed like yesterday
the memories of war they just won't fade
see through their lies
the years i
was there, it seems so far away
everyone tried to ignore it, saying it'll go away
it never went away, no matter how much
we pretend
the lives that were lost, the wounds will never mend
see through their lies
the living envyig the dead, many
will never know
it's hard to believe in a cheap thing called hope
slept under mosquito nets, we used kerosene lamps
remember the discomfort, the air was so damp
see through their lies
at times i couldn't even breathe cos the nights were
so hot
i remember scratching my arms til they almost bled
they kept telling me war never hurt anyone
it's all part of
life, you got to take ir if you want to be strong
see through their lies
they were only lying to themselves cos the war is
still goin on
you can walk down any city's streets
on any given day of the year
and pretend that what we have is peace
but we live our
lives in constant fear
of a hellish inferno, a mass crematorium, ashes to ashes, blown away by the wind
there's no escape
to or from
any knid of nuclear exchange
make haste or we're surely doomed
to see our planet's end
in a hellish inferno,
Savage and barbarous, they continue the practice of torture
the police engage in riots, the army gears for war
stop the
mutilation,stop the torture
stop the torture for profit and war
corporations use torture to rob and discard the poor
they deal in assassinations to keep the cry down to a murmer
[chorus]
to fight war in which mutilation is condoned and
allowed
the system will use any amount of force to uphold its strength and power
[chorus]
singling people out for their
beliefs, this happens now
the outright violation of human rights must be stopped somehow
on the basic questions of human
rights and human needs
they'll quietly close the door
you'll see that the freedom we have is not our own
take a look at
el salvador
us government backed butchers in the guise of friendly advisors
the friendly neighbor with a bloody trade
preparing to declare their next war
their use of the media to discredit disclaim and betray
to outrage and incite
violencee, make sure
things remain the same
[chorus]
somewhere a captive audience watch a demonstration
watch a man disfigured, his body wired
for electrocution
[chorus]
they sit with their hands clasped waiting in anticipation
they sit with their hands clasped
The scene gorssly repeats itself in my head
the background's a blur wading deep in blood
a violent new order of distrust
and hate
a genocidal war where the shooting hasn't stopped
indo china lost forever
indo china you destroyed her
indo
china don't you forget her
indo china how you robbed and raped her
so cold the killings somehow captured on film
disturbed me in such a way that i felt unclean
again and again a million shots to my brain
an array of dead lined the
streets for parade
[chorus]
no one really cares how they've been at war
in their eyes the many years of pain i saw
t he
countless deaths and casualties
the crimes against humanity
[chorus]
and what has war left for the children
for they have
become orphans and they're dying of starvation
who do they blame when their rears have dried
we all have to pay for, we
