Plot
Editor Eckernförde has come into the possession of an audiocassette that contains a recording of the last minutes of deceased politician Uwe Barschel. The circumstances of his untimely death have never been completely resolved - until now. Unfortunately, the editor's daughter Nina accidentally takes the tape with her to Munich, where she is about to visit her paralyzed Mom in a sanatorium. When this information reaches the CIA and the BND, both organizations compete to get hold of the tape. Meanwhile Erkan & Stefan, two loveable wannabe supercheckers from Munich, are assigned as bodyguards for Nina - of course, they are expected to mess up their job, so that the tape can be retrieved. But the two friends prove to be a bit more streetwise than CIA or BND ever expected.

It runs throughout
The place of fate
She can keep you up to date
And her ???? to intervene
Coming closer in between you now
Between you now x3
And so the plan is up to you
But no one tells you what to do
And if they do you'll make a scene
Nothing will get in between you now
Cruise missiles have arrived, despite our protest and anger
The fucked up fucking shits took no notice of our banners
They ignored the nation's pleas of a chance to work for peace
They reinforced their laws and brought their servants to their knees
While Maggie sits back in her province of power
The nation's scared shitless in fear of a shower
Of the worst thing that would be possible
The destruction of the world, the murder of us all
God save the Queen, are you sure it ain't the banks?
It's the profit of all nations that makes the leaders wank
From the Germans to the Russians and the Great British too
The people are the same, it's the Government who...
...Fuck, rape and destroy our world they treat as a toy
The truth they abuse and hide with war, threats, system and lies
Thirty million will die while the royals and Government hides
So, the nation's wealth can survive but the rest of us just fry
The man Hesletine sits and gloats at his warheads
Thatcher observes, "oh, there's a hundred thousand more dead"
The missiles roar over, there's nothing they can do
But there's still a chance to stop it and that relies on me and you
Maggie sucks Andropov in her brothel of power
While Reagan gives speeches of bullshit to cover
The fact that its profit that brought the missile fear
Well ram them up your own arse, because we don't want them here
Well I backstroked through my high school years
Changing lanes and changing gears
Thought I was invincible
Thinking I could change the world
Cutting classes breaking rules
The learning started after school
You were there we’d slip away
Drive right through the yawning day and...
Cruise
Never check the review mirror
Cruise
Watch the future getting clearer
Shut your mouth and close your eyes
Put the seat back let me drive and cruise
With a name tag and a bright blue vest
They put the handcuffs on your wrist
Your careless summer’s been replaced
A smile's a stranger to your face
And my fingers punch the cold white keys
I’m commas and apostrophes
Someday we’ll get out of this
Leave a postcard on the desk and...
Cruise
Never stop to think about it
Cruise
Not a single doubt about it
Feet don’t ever touch the ground
So high we’re not coming down we cruise
And my body aches
For the warm embrace
Of a better day
Oh it’s not too late to slip away
Cruise you are making me sing
Now you have taken me under your wing
Cruise, we both know you're the best
How can they say you're like all the rest
Cruise, we're both travelling so far
Burning out fast like a shooting star
Cruise I feel sure that your song will be sung
And will ring in the ears of everyone
Saving our children, saving our land
Protecting us from things we can't understand
Power and Glory, Justice and Right
I'm sure that you'll help us to see the light
And the love that you radiate will keep us warm
And help us to weather the storm
Cruise, you have taken me in
And just when I've got you under my skin
You start ignoring the fears I have felt
'Cause you know you can always make my poor heart melt
Please don't take what I'm saying amiss
Or misunderstand at a time such as this
Because if such close friends should ever fall out
What would there be left worth fighting about
Power and glory, justice and right
I'm sure that you'll help them to see the light
Will you save our children, will you save our land
And protect us from all the things we can't understand?
Power and glory and justice for all
