Sean McDonough (born May 13, 1962) is an American sportscaster, currently employed by ESPN.
The son of Boston Globe sportswriter Will McDonough, Sean graduated from Syracuse University in 1984. It was in Syracuse where McDonough began his broadcasting career in 1982 as the play-by-play announcer for the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League. Four years after graduating from Syracuse, he began broadcasting Boston Red Sox games on WSBK-TV (Channel 38) in Boston with former Red Sox catcher Bob Montgomery. McDonough was an Ivy League football announcer for PBS. He was a sideline reporter from 1984–85, and a play-by-play announcer from 1986–87.
He began work for CBS Sports in 1990, where he broadcast college basketball (including 10 NCAA tournaments), college football (including the prestigious Orange Bowl game), the College World Series, the NFL, US Open tennis, three Winter Olympics (bobsled and luge in 1992 and 1994 and ice hockey in 1998), and golf (including four Masters and PGA Championships).
Bill Raftery (born April 19, 1943) is an American basketball analyst and former college basketball coach.
Raftery attended Saint Cecilia High School in Kearny, New Jersey, where he starred in basketball and became the all-time leading scorer in state history with 2,192 points, a record finally surpassed after 35 years. He earned all-state honors in basketball, and led his team to the state championship in his senior season. He was also named all-state in baseball and soccer. He has been named, retroactively, Mr. Basketball USA for 1959.
Raftery played at La Salle University under coach Donald "Dudey" Moore. During his freshman year he scored a freshman record 370 points, followed by a team leading 17.8 points per game in his sophomore year. As a senior he co-captained the Explorers to the National Invitation Tournament.
Following his senior year at La Salle, Raftery was drafted by the NBA's New York Knicks, making it to the final cut, but he never played in the NBA.
Monday Night Football (MNF) is a live television broadcast of weekly National Football League (NFL) games on ESPN in the United States. From 1970 to 2005, it aired on sister broadcast network ABC. Monday Night Football was, along with Hallmark Hall of Fame and the Walt Disney anthology television series, one of the longest-running prime time programs ever on commercial network television, and one of the highest-rated, particularly among male viewers.
Monday Night Football is also broadcast in Canada on TSN and RDS, and in most of Europe. On September 7, 2013, the NFL announced that British Eurosport would show Monday Night Football games live in the United Kingdom for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The telecasts are also seen in most of Australia on ESPN Australia, in Portugal on SportTV 3 and SportTV HD and on TV 2 Sport in Denmark, and in some other regions of the world outside the U.S. on ESPN International. A Spanish-language version airs on ESPN Deportes in the U.S. and on ESPN International in Latin America, while a Portuguese version airs on ESPN Brasil. Per an NFL broadcasting policy intended to allow those who do not subscribe to cable or satellite television to see games televised by a pay television network, the games are also made available on over-the-air television stations in each participating team's local market.
Monday Night, Recorded Live at the Village Vanguard is a 1968 big band jazz album recorded at the Village Vanguard club in New York City by the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra and released on the Solid State Records label. All tracks are also included on Mosaic's limited edition boxed set, The Complete Solid State Recordings of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra.

This is an interview I did for a local television newsmagazine called Connect. I interviewed ESPN broadcaster Sean McDonough. We asked him five questions about his life. The interview will air on channel 9 in Syracuse sometime in March. I'll keep you updated. Here's the introduction I taped: Sean McDonough learned about sports journalism from his father - Will McDonough -- who worked at the Boston Globe as a sports reporter and columnist for more than 40 years. After graduating from Syracuse University in 1984, Sean went to work for the team he grew up rooting for -- the Boston Red Sox. At the age of 30, he became the youngest man to announce the World Series. He has worked the winter Olympics, major golf tournaments and -- for the past ten years -- college basketball on ESPN. Hi...

Pittsburgh Pirates 2 at Atlanta Braves 3, F -- Pittsburgh's ace Doug Drabek was cruising along, holding the Braves scoreless for eight innings, getting out of his only real jam (bases loaded, no out) in the sixth inning. Atlanta's starter, John Smoltz, was similarly solid, with the Pirates scraping together two runs on an Orlando Merced sacrifice fly and an Andy Van Slyke single. The Bucs headed to the 9th inning with a 2-0 lead, just three outs away from the World Series. And that's when it all went wrong. Manager Jim Leyland stuck with Drabek, rather than bringing in a left-hander to pitch to Terry Pendleton and David Justice. Drabek allowed an inning-opening double to Pendleton, and then in what would prove to be a crucial play, normally sure-handed second baseman Jose Lind booted J...

30 on Thursday Webinar presented by SusQtech Topic: 'Caching In' for SharePoint Performance Presenter: Sean McDonough, Idera For more information, visit www.susqtech.com
Caching is a critical variable in the SharePoint scalability and performance equation, but it’s one that’s oftentimes misunderstood or dismissed as being needed only in Internet-facing scenarios. In this lively and fast-paced session, we’ll build an understanding of the caching options that exist within the SharePoint platform: object caching, BLOB caching, page output caching, the Office Web Applications’ cache, and SharePoint 2013’s Distributed Cache service. We’ll examine each option in detail, discuss how it works, identify how it can be controlled, and cover common pitfalls that may impact its use. We’ll also step through a handful of “what if” scenarios at the end of the presentation to test audience knowledge (just for fun, of course!) Those who attend this session will leave with ...
