Standard-definition television (SDTV) is a television system that uses a resolution that is not considered to be either enhanced-definition television (EDTV) or high-definition television (HDTV). The term is usually used in reference to digital television, in particular when broadcasting at the same (or similar) resolution as analog systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems with 576 interlaced lines of resolution; and 480i, based on the American National Television System Committee NTSC system.
In the US, digital SDTV is broadcast in the same 4:3 aspect ratio as NTSC signals. However, in areas that used the PAL or SECAM analog standards, standard-definition television is now usually shown with a 16:9 aspect ratio, with the transition occurring between the mid-1990s and mid-2000s. Older programs with a 4:3 aspect ratio are shown in 4:3.
Standards that support digital SDTV broadcast include DVB, ATSC and ISDB. The last two were originally developed for HDTV, but are more often used for their ability to deliver multiple SD video and audio streams via multiplexing, than for using the entire bitstream for one HD channel.[clarification needed]
Play the halls
See the stalls tonight
Open roads the like
Across the dateline change will never strike
Australia lies ahead
Australia, we head for the mainland
Clutching our gifts from the East
Only to find out
Planes and the highways
STrain the paths and the by-ways
Remain, still it's leading me
Closer to you
Australia, we're leaving you behind
Australia, we're taking the easy way out
From now on
"Come to," can't get away from ya still
"Come to, we'll take good care of ya."
Australia, you save your face while fashions slip
Australia, you're balanaced between
The powers' tightening grip
I've been to, it's a long way for ya still
Two-sided through four sides
We slide
Are we up, are we down?
Twirling round and round
Spectral spaces found
Leaves enjoy their autumn
Do you like the fall?
Suppose yourself above it all
In our self-made worlds
Well, I met her when an old established
Twining friendship failed
You'd think by now
It would be right, that I'm not nailed
To some obscure note
That runs along a board
In our self-made worlds
Do we rote
Changes into harmony
Revolutions oiled to that symphony
Lord, help us do well
All that we have to do
Feet on the ground, heads in the clouds
Live a life that's free and easy
Pall and good
Show us the trend
There came a time, "No more," we said
"To leave it in their hands divine."
Show us the trend
Set out sails, burnt our boats
Independence ruled the day
While pleasure stole the night
Epochs past, lives were spent
Until a new band came
Did not intend to spend
Cease from your haste, they said
Leave time to repeat
Your aims, they are misplaced
You don't have to race, they cried
Oh Lord, help us do
All we have to do
"With negligent regret,
Whoa
Whoa
come on and dance
come on and dance
lets make some romance
You know that night is falling
and the music is calling
and we've got to get down to swing town
we've been workin so hard
we've been workin so hard
come on baby, come on baby lets dance
ba-bump bump bump
ba-bump bump bump
ba-bump bump bump
Whoa
Whoa
come on and dance
come on and dance
we may not get another chance
You know that night is falling
and the music is calling
With your mercury mouth in the missionary times,
And your eyes like smoke and your prayers like rhymes,
And your silver cross, and your voice like chimes,
Oh, who among them do they think could bury you?
With your pockets well protected at last,
And your streetcar visions which you place on the
grass,
And your flesh like silk, and your face like glass,
Who among them do they think could carry you?
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?
With your sheets like metal and your belt like lace,
And your deck of cards missing the jack and the ace,
And your basement clothes and your hollow face,
Who among them can think he could outguess you?
With your silhouette when the sunlight dims
Into your eyes where the moonlight swims,
And your match-book songs and your gypsy hymns,
Who among them would try to impress you?
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?
The kings of Tyrus with their convict list
Are waiting in line for their geranium kiss,
And you wouldn't know it would happen like this,
But who among them really wants just to kiss you?
With your childhood flames on your midnight rug,
And your Spanish manners and your mother's drugs,
And your cowboy mouth and your curfew plugs,
Who among them do you think could resist you?
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?
Oh, the farmers and the businessmen, they all did
decide
To show you the dead angels that they used to hide.
But why did they pick you to sympathize with their
side?
Oh, how could they ever mistake you?
They wished you'd accepted the blame for the farm,
But with the sea at your feet and the phony false
alarm,
And with the child of a hoodlum wrapped up in your
arms,
How could they ever, have persuaded you?
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?
With your sheet-metal memory of Cannery Row,
And your magazine-husband who one day just had to go,
And your gentleness now, which you just can't help but
show,
Who among them do you think would employ you?
Now you stand with your thief, you're on his parole
With your holy medallion which your fingertips fold,
And your saintlike face and your ghostlike soul,
Oh, who among them do you think could destroy you
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands,
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes,
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums,
Should I leave them by your gate,
Standing in the street,
Making me so weak.
I'm just mentally detached from the
people around me.
Learning by the rules
Children soon find out
Drunken fathers' tools
Get handed on down by generation.
A young boy soon knows his destination.
Give him a chance and he'll,
Break away from it all.
Individuality just won't let him stall.
It might have been that every sound we made
Went unrealized.
Till all of us stopped to look round,
Any of them could have left town.
We've come to watch their personality change.

Don't bring yourself down here
My constitution will just disappear
You'll feel the atmosphere
Seeping between the end of the year
Even though lines are gathering
Time's still travelling
You must leave now, take what you need, you think will
last.
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun,
Crying like a fire in the sun.
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence.
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home.
All your reindeer armies, are all going home.
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor.
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.
Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for
you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you.
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore.
Strike another match, go start anew
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day?
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you?
Does anybody else in here
Break the chains that keep us here
The dirty city and unwholesome wares
Free the grip from round my head
My eyes long to see the fields instead
As time doth slowly and sorely creep
The distant mist I sense before me
Wisps about my feet
Tell me what happened to me
She'd say, it was meant to be
Go off and journey someplace
I'll see you after winter
You know it can always happen
So near to the end
Love has a funny habit of
Running out on you
Just in time you'll be here
Living by the river
Mixing with friends, I know them
Sharing touch and beauty
Belgium is just a place I remember
Streets of rain, one forgotten night
Early flight
We just slipped away
Steve Howe/Alice Meynell)
Life is just a reflection
Sometime mirrored i nthe past
As we strive for perfection
We live until we last
Where the new might grow with the old
Where the fool is oft times the wise
Everything has got to be evened out
Leaving as without a doubt
Home, home from the horizon
Far and clear
Hither to the soft wings sweep
Flocks of the memories
Of the days draw near
The dove-cote doors of sleep
Which way are they, that come through this sweet light
Of all these homing birds
Which? with the straightest and the swiftest flight
Your words to me, your words
The first time I took this girl's hand
She was as if for whom I was born
And there's more besides a fair morning
Needed for a fair day
It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter, anyhow
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right
It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never did before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' all the way down the
road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right
I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye's too good a word, gal
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
Nobody feels any pain
Tonight as I stand inside the rain
Ev'rybody knows
That Baby's got new clothes
But lately I see her ribbons and her bows
Have fallen from her curls.
She takes just like a woman, yes, she does
She makes love just like a woman, yes, she does
And she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl.
Queen Mary, she's my friend
Yes, I believe I'll go see her again
Nobody has to guess
That Baby can't be blessed
Till she sees finally that she's like all the rest
With her fog, her amphetamine and her pearls.
She takes just like a woman, yes, she does
She makes love just like a woman, yes, she does
And she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl.
It was raining from the first
And I was dying there of thirst
So I came in here
And your long-time curse hurts
But what's worse
Is this pain in here
I can't stay in here
Ain't it clear that--
I just can't fit
Yes, I believe it's time for us to quit
When we meet again
Introduced as friends
Please don't let on that you knew me when
I was hungry and it was your world.
Ah, you fake just like a woman, yes, you do
You make love just like a woman, yes, you do
Then you ache just like a woman
Don't ask me how I know
Just look over your shoulder
You won't recognise yourself
You won't have to ask
Is everyone here looking much older
Are communications feeling much colder
Everytime you look over your shoulder
Sudden like the wind transversed
The gulf of friendships passed
Stillness mounts in this high place
Silence stays the same
I am I will I can are aims
But can we tell which are the games
Everytime we pass the blame
Fearful thoughts are bitter sweet
His charms are soft in youth
The sting is of elusive hands
That reared him from his tooth
We know that shadows move on course
We'll have to take this boy by force
I am orange gumdrop
Stuck in your mouth
I am mother's milk
That's all gone bad
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty tonight
Yeah I'm pretty tonight, tonight, tonight
I'm a pretty little nightmare
Nightmare
I'm Crayola crayon
Drawn on your wall
I'm Kurt Cobain karaoke
Out of tune
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty tonight
Yeah I'm pretty tonight, tonight, tonight
I'm a pretty little nightmare
Nightmare
You left this messed up little girl
You left this messed up little girl
Cos you're a little messed up too
And that's why I love you
I'm American beauty rose thorn
Caught in your side
A rainbow tied to your messed up
Rainy day
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty tonight
Yeah I'm pretty tonight, tonight, tonight
I'm a pretty little nightmare
Nightmare
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty, yeah
I'm so pretty tonight
Yeah I'm pretty tonight, tonight, tonight
I'm a pretty little nightmare
I'm like a hurricane in Ohio
Coming down your street
Knocking down your door
Cause I'm all wound up
Like a top that's about to spin out of control
Where are the boys?
It's like I'm a car that's gone out for a ride
Without a driver inside
Can't you see that I'm just like a kite?
When the wind slows, I'll crash into the ground
'Cause I'm alone right now
Can somebody give me a clue?
Where are the boys?
I'm broken like a toy
Where are the boys?
I'm like Godzilla in Tokyo
Get your army out
But don't you know
When this girl needs love
Yeah, she can't be stopped
So won't you hit the gas?
And let's go
Where are the boys?
It's like I'm a car that's gone out for a ride
Without a driver inside
Can't you see that I'm just like a kite?
When the wind slows, I'll crash into the ground
'Cause I'm alone right now
Can somebody give me a clue?
Where are the boys?
I'm broken like a toy
Where are the boys?
They've been destroyed
I'm so annoyed
Where are the boys?
I'm like a hurricane in Ohio
Coming down your street
Knocking down your door
Where are the boys?
It's like I'm a car that's gone out for a ride
Without a driver inside
Can't you see that I'm just like a kite?
When the wind slows, I'll crash into the ground
'Cause I'm alone right now
Can somebody give me a clue?
Where are the boys?
I'm broken like a toy
Where are the boys?
They've been destroyed
I'm so annoyed
Where are the boys?
Lost in my head
They play hard to get
They just make a mess
Playing video games
They're hiding away
In Costa Mesa or Balboa
Hey schoolboy
Come over here
Tell me your name
Whisper in my ear
waaayoo waaayoo
Hey schoolboy
You're only 17
You live down the street
I think you know what I mean
waaayoo waaayoo
{Chorus}
Belong to me
Because tonight
You make my world feel right
Yeah it's you and me
It's you and me
It's you and me tonight
Tonight
It's you and me tonight
Hey schoolboy
I'm in the car outside
No one has to know
After school gets out
Sneak ya' into the show
waaayoo waaayoo
Right beside of the stage
Yeah its plain to see
You're the one that they want
But your comin' home with me
{Chorus}
Belong to me
Because tonight
You make my world feel right
Yeah its you and me
It's you and me
It's you and me tonight
Tonight
It's you and me tonight
Hey schoolboy
You kiss and tell
Boy I dont mind
Don't be afraid
I got nothin to
Nothin' to hide
{Chorus}
Belong to me
Because tonight
You make my world feel right
Belong to me
Because tonight
You make my world feel right
Yea it's you and me
It's you and me
Its you and me tonight
Tonight
It's you and me tonight
Hey schoolboy
I can see there's something in your eyes
You just took a fall from paradise
Saw the lipstick on your neck
Maybe you should just confess
Oh oh oh oh oh
I don't wanna lose my hair today
But I know there's something in the way
Maybe I made a big mistake last night
When I left you alone with Chelsea
Chelsea's the kind of girl that's cold as ice
Beautiful with nails filed sharp as knives
She called me while you were kissing
So I could hear what I was missing
Oh oh oh oh oh
I don't wanna lose my head today
But I know there's something in the way
Maybe I made a big mistake last night
When I left you alone with Chelsea
When I left you alone with Chelsea
You're just a typical guy
And you're typically blind
You can see I'm out of here
And that I said goodbye
I don't wanna lose my head today
But I know there's something in the way
Maybe I made a big mistake last night
When I left you alone with Chelsea
When I left you alone with Chelsea
I loved what you did for me
It was so 20th century
You sang in a famous band
Your name ended up on my hand
It's such a long time ago
When we said our first hello
But nothing was making sense
I just wanted it all to end
Fake love can't live forever
It fades away and starts to bleed
A dead love won't be remembered
It doesn't give me what I need
All that's left is a cover up
I never thought that I was enough
For you, was it true?
When the needle went to hit the flesh
I could feel the pain less and less
No more you
I got my cover up
Now I have replaced your name
So your memory will fade away
This butterfly set me free
Now you don't exhist for me
It's such a long time ago
When we said our first hello
I thought you were all I had
But true love is not a fad
Fake love can't live forever
It cuts away and fades to black
A dead love won't be remembered
It kills your heart and starts to crack
All that's left is a cover up
I never thought that I was enough
For you, was it true?
When the needle went to hit the flesh
I could feel the pain less and less
No more you
I got my cover up
Loved it had it won it lost it
Brought it caught it been there
Done it made it played it
I'm not going back
All that's left is a cover up
I never thought that I was enough
For you, was it true?
When the needle went to hit the flesh
I could feel the pain less and less
No more you
Wind me up and I will sing
For you and only you
Make believe it's fun
So don't you cry, my butterfly
The perfect place
Your pretty face
What a lucky girl that you should have someone
To kiss goodnight
All the while that you were sleeping in your room
You kiss goodnight
Tear my heart into a piece of junk
For your love
Every little angel fades away
Into dust
Am I too much
Or not enough?
What a lucky girl that you should have someone
To kiss goodnight
All the while that you were sleeping in your room
You kiss goodnight
Don't you know it hurts
And you know it hurts
What a lucky girl that you should have someone
To kiss goodnight
All the while that you were sleeping in your room
You kiss goodnight
What a lucky girl that you should have someone
To kiss goodnight
All the while that you were sleeping in your room
You kiss goodnight
What a lucky girl that you should have someone
To kiss goodnight
You kiss goodnight, you kiss goodnight
You kiss goodnight
You kiss goodnight, you kiss goodnight
You kiss goodnight
I'm feeling kind of strange,
Cause of all the things you say.
Yeah I know they're too good to believe.
This probably won't work,
Cause you're kind of a jerk.
And for sure you're way too cool for me.
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just cant give you up.
I'm a fool for love
Wish I could stop, Wish I could stop.
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just can't get enough.
I'm a fool for love
Can't get enough, Can't get enough.
Of your, La la la la la laa
No matter how I try
I end up about to make you cry
So I won't take you seriously
Cause I miss you so much
I get my panites in a bunch
Everytime you're not close to me.
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just cant give you up.
I'm a fool for love
Wish I could stop, Wish I could stop.
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just can't get enough.
I'm a fool for love
Can't get enough, Can't get enough.
Of your, La la la la la laa
So just hold me
Say you want me
I don't know if I belong
To you not sure
I believe but
You could prove me wrong
I'm a fool for love
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just cant give you up.
I'm a fool for love
Wish I could stop, Wish I could stop.
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just can't get enough.
I'm a fool for love
Can't get enough, Can't get enough.
Of your, La la la la la laa
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just cant give you up.
I'm a fool for love
Wish I could stop, Wish I could stop.
I'm a fool for love
Cause I just can't get enough.
I'm a fool for love
Can't get enough, Can't get enough.
Your worst defeat
Swept off my feet
Thought it was fate
It was just fake
Synthetic lust
Cause some of this [cause some of this]
Wrapped in a kiss [wrapped in a kiss]
Such a mess [such a mess]
I must express [I must express]
You're like orange crush
I was a fool but now I see
Your perfect love was make believe
And that your heart is empty
I've had too much of this sugar rush
O-oh
No more orange crush
I've had too much you've been cut off
O-oh
No more orange crush
You make me sick [you make me sick]
How did I kiss [how did i kiss]
Your flattenin stare [your flattenin stare]
I had to bail [I had to bail]
On orange crush
I was a fool but now I see
Your perfect love was make believe
And now the bottle's empty
I've had too much of this sugar rush
O-oh
No more orange crush
I've had too much won't you shut up
O-oh
No more orange crush
O-oh
O-oh
No more orange crush
O-oh
O-oh
No more orange
The orange sky has turned
Into a deeper blue
I can't believe that I
Fell down into you
I've had too much of this sugar rush
O-oh
No more orange crush
I've had too much won't you shut up
O-oh
No more orange crush
I've had too much of this sugar rush
[sugar rush, sugar rush...]
I've had too much of this sugar rush
[sugar rush, sugar rush...]
No one else will even know how to love me
Maybe I am broken
Deep inside I believe that you belong to me
But this remains unspoken
And I want you so much
You not like the rest
It hurts when we touch
I love you to death
I can't breathe
and I can't sleep
it's killing me
I love you to death
I can't be saved
the price I pay when you're away
I love you to death
Late at night when I'm alone your memories haunting
don't you miss me too?
and sometimes i think if i wish hard enough
i could be with you
And I want you so much
You not like the rest
It hurts when we touch
I love you to death
I can't breathe
and I can't sleep
it's killing me
I love you to death
I can't be saved
the price I pay when you're away
I love you to
I'm stranded without love
but you still thrill me
if you leave me long enough
it might just kill me
I can't breathe
and I can't sleep
it's killing me
I love you to death
I can't be saved
the price I pay when you're away
I love you to death
And I want you so much
It hurts when we touch
You and me in this world
They do their best to make us part ourselves, Separate ourselves
And I know that it hurts
They might troubling when I'm close to you I Won't lose myself
They don't have enough
To make us tell I trust
Yeah it's you and me against the world
'Cause you know that I've always been your girl
And it's true I believe
you and me were meant to be against the world
Against the world
It's a town and a place
Fate has brought us both togheter here
To stay forever near
They don't have enough
To make us tell I trust
Yeah yeah yeah
It's you and me against the world
'Cause you know that I've always been your girl
And it's true I believe
you and me were meant to be against the world
against the world
It's you and me against the world
We don't need their money
We don't need their words
We don't need what they have anymore
And it's you and me against the world
'Cause you know that I've always been your girl
And it's true I believe
you and me were meant to be
Yeah it's you and me against the world
'Cause you know that I've always been your girl
And it's true I believe
you and me were meant to be
Against the world
Against the world
Against the world
Against the world
Against the world
Against the world
Against the world
Against the world
Today's another gloomy day, here in L.A.
They say it's 'cause the weather's not the same,
Feels that way
And i don't want the world to change,
The world's not mine to change,
Can't change the world.
Don't want the world to change,
The world's not mine,
It's nothing really.
Just spill the can of cola on the carpet,
Turn it from white to grey.
Don't wanna be a cry-baby
But it's such a cryin shame.
And i don't want the world to change,
The world's not mine to change,
Can't change the world.
Don't want the world to change
The world's not mine,
It's nothing really.
I carved a heart
In a tree
With a question mark
Plus stefy
Who could it be?
Who's gunna sign their name?
And will be the one
Who goes all of the way
Today's another gloomy day, in L.A.
And i don't want the world to change,
The world's not mine to change
Can't change the world.
Don't want the world to change
The world's not mine
He drives up to her house
She tells her momma goodbye
She jumps into his car
Their kiss lit in the radio's light
And they're gonna fall in love tonight
Underneath the Orange County sky
They sleep on the beach
Until they see the morning come
Life was over before it begun
We still got our MTV
Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani
TiVo for My Sweet Sixteen
And prepaid AT&T;
The things that we think we need
For our American dream
We're so perfectly Orange County
She has a baby coming
He quits school to get a job
She stays at home alone
Thinking where have the good times gone
And they're gonna fall in love tonight
Underneath the Orange County sky
They sleep on the beach
Until they see the morning come
Life was over before it begun
We still got our MTV
Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani
TiVo for My Sweet Sixteen
And prepaid AT&T;
The things that we think we need
Now that 2 become 3
We're so perfectly Orange County
Orange County
Where have all the good times gone?
And she says
Where have all the good times gone?
And they're gonna fall in love tonight
Underneath the Orange County sky
They sleep on the beach
Until they see the morning come
Life was over before it begun
We still got our MTV
Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani
TiVo for My Sweet Sixteen
And prepaid AT&T;
Marc Jacobs and Gucci gear
We'll pay it off in a year
Credit cards to pay our debt
So why aren't we happy yet?
Old pictures of you and me
When we were young and were free
And memories so perfectly Orange County
Orange County
Orange County
The naked Dutch painter does not want to fuck you
She’s got 17 boyfriends and an eight o’clock class to get to
She’s smoking hash all night with some coffee amaretto
She’s asking stupid questions about my groovy black ghetto
And the naked Dutch painter in the kitchen does not want to fuck you.
The naked Dutch painter in your bed does not want to sleep with you
She just feels like being naked
You don’t think you can take it but they’re next to you
She says, “Ghandi used to sleep next to two naked women”
But you’re not the Mahatma and that’s a whole ‘nother religion
And the naked Dutch painter in the bed does want to sleep with you
The naked Dutch painter in the morning does not want to need you
She missed her eight o’clock class cause she couldn’t get her ass up off of you
So you walk along the Rhine and jump back in the sack
If this is how they do it you ain’t never going back
And the naked Dutch painter in the morning does not want to need you
Talking ‘bout the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter

The naked Dutch painter in the gallery does not want to love you
She’s throwing fluorescent paint accompanied by a Mingus tape that she stole from you
Its performance art porno under trippy black light
She left with her professor, he can stretch her canvas tight
And the naked Dutch painter in the gallery does not want to love you.
The naked Dutch painter in his arms does not want to see you
You are drunk and you are sore
You busted down professor’s door but he feels for you
So a wicked joint is rolled and mellows out your head
But you’re not feeling too bold when he invites you into bed
While the naked Dutch painter in his arms does not want to see you
Talking ‘bout the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter

So now you’re on your own in a freezing pay phone around day break
You’re feeling so shitty that your calling Culver City just to belly ache
But there’s no body home ‘cept your answering machine
So you write a stupid poem about the freaky shit you’ve seen
Like the naked Dutch painter in the morning sky who hovers above you
The naked Dutch painter at your door says she finally loves you
But she said “I’ll see you later” when she saw another naked painter sitting in the kitchen with you
Well she seemed a little shattered and she got a little pissed
When she saw that you were flattered by the fact that you’d been missed
While the naked Dutch painter at your door says....
Talking ‘bout the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
the naked Dutch painter
