Getty Images, Inc. is a stock photo agency, based in Seattle, Washington, USA. It is a supplier of stock images for business and consumers with an archive of 80 million still images and illustrations and more than 50,000 hours of stock film footage. It targets three markets—creative professionals (advertising and graphic design), the media (print and online publishing), and corporate (in-house design, marketing and communication departments).
Getty has distribution offices around the world and capitalizes on the Internet and CD-ROM collections for distribution. As Getty has acquired other older photo agencies and archives, it has digitised their collections, enabling online distribution. Getty Images now operates a large commercial website which allows clients to search and browse for images, purchase usage rights and download images. Costs of images vary according to the chosen resolution and type of rights associated with each image. The company also offers custom photo services for corporate clients.

Copywriter Sophie Schoenburg and art director Marcos Kotlhar worked 6 months researching images, improving the script and building each scene so they would not only be understood, but would also touch viewers. Sometimes, for example, a scene would look perfect on paper, but the images chosen to depict it were not sufficient or did not perfectly match up to offer the right movement and sense. And hence the research had to be restarted. The film was directed by Cisma, via Paranoid BR, along with Marcos Kotlhar, the art director at the agency.
For this creation team, the purpose was to adhere to the concept that Getty Images has so many images that anybody is capable of telling any story they want by only using their archives. In the film "Do amor ao Bingo em 873 imagens" [From love to Bingo in 873 images], a storyteller in the corner of the screen describes the images used. The Getty Images logo appears at the end of the story, but the storyteller continues to turn until reaching the exact number of images in the Getty Images archive.

Partnership to repicture women and girls is driving cultural change and commercial success in more than 65 countries
Getty Images, the world’s leader in visual communication, and LeanIn.Org, the women’s non-profit founded by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, are celebrating one year of partnership with the anniversary of the Getty Images Lean In Collection – a curation of images devoted to the powerful depiction of women, girls and the communities who support them. Images from the collection have been licensed in over 65 countries, including Qatar, Kuwait and Korea, with sales doubling since the collection’s inception in February, 2014.
Thousands of images have been licensed through the collection across a wide variety of industries, with two of the biggest sectors being financial and tech organisations – industries which are actively trying to attract more women.
Speaking on the anniversary, Getty Images Co-Founder and CEO, Jonathan Klein said: “From the creation of Getty Images 20 years ago, we have been guided by the belief that imagery can change the world. Getty Images partnership with Sheryl Sandberg’s LeanIn.org to break down stereotypes and kill the cliché is changing the conversation about the depiction of women in visual communications and has delivered impressive bottom line results.”
“Men and women should be equally represented at the boardroom table and at the kitchen table. To get there we need reform of our policies, we need to encourage women to fulfil their ambitions and we need to encourage men to do their part in the home - but we also need to address how women and men are depicted, because you can’t be what you can’t see,” said Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO, author of Lean In and founder of LeanIn.Org. “We are thrilled to be able to partner with Getty Images on this project and our shared commitment to literally repicture women, men and equality.”
More than 2,000 images have been added to the collection since the launch, bringing the total to over 4,500, with new content being added each month. The collection is hand-curated by Getty Images’ global trend experts and LeanIn.Org, led by Getty Images Director of Visual Trends Pam Grossman and LeanIn.Org Contributing Editor Jessica Bennett.
Usage is growing in the US, UK and Canada, and growth is also being seen in a diverse range of countries including Russia, Mexico, Singapore and China.
The success of the partnership with Lean In has inspired Getty Images to address how other key concepts are communicated visually through the company’s RePicture movement, such as RePicture family and RePicture love, calling for content that breaks down stereotypes and celebrates the world in its raw and authentic form.

Getty Images awarded $80,000 in grants supporting the work of four international photojournalists. Bharat Choudhary, Kosuke Okahara, Paolo Marchetti and Sebastian Liste each received $20,000 prizes and editorial support as winners of the 2012 Getty Grants for Editorial Photography. An additional $20,000 was also pledged to the Chris Hondros Fund in order to further support photojournalism and public awareness initiatives through an award given to Andrea Bruce and Dominic Bracco in June.
Announced at Visa pour l'Image, the annual festival of photojournalism held in Perpignan, France, the grants—first established in 2004—aim to "enable emerging and established photojournalists to pursue projects of personal and editorial merit, focusing attention on significant social and cultural issues."
This year's panel of judges, including Whitney Johnson (Director of Photography, The New Yorker), Jean-Francois Leroy (Director, Visa pour l'Image), Barbara Griffin (Turner Broadcasting Systems), Kira Pollack (Director of Photography, TIME) and photographer Stephanie Sinclair, sorted through 328 story proposals from 60 countries, eventually narrowing in on four projects. According to Aidan Sullivan, Vice President of Assignments at Getty, these four winning projects "deal with a range of compelling and multifaceted issues, from the devastation caused by the Japanese natural disasters to modern day slavery in Brazil."
Bharat Choudhary, an Indian photographer based in London, was recognized for his project, The Silence of Others, which aims to explore the societal and cultural alienation of Muslim youth in France. His project initially began two years ago by examining the 'Islamophobia' of aspects of American and British life. The grant will allow Choudhary to continue his project, delving further into specific triggers inherent to French society.
Four years ago, Paolo Marchetti began FEVER -- The Awakening of European Fascism after noticing a resurgence of interest in extreme right-wing politics. The Rome-based photographer has documented the exponential growth of citizens fleeing their own country in the wake of the Arab Spring. Marchetti will expand the project to other European countries with the award funds.
Tokyo-based photographer Kosuke Okahara documented the devastation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant following the earthquake that struck Japan in March 2011. The grant will help Okahara continue Fragments/Fukushima as he investigates the true meaning of the disaster upon the world's populations through images and audio interviews.
Sebastian Liste's project, The Brazilian Far West, explores the inequalities caused by Brazil's slow and gradual abolition of slavery, particularly affecting the plight of peasants. Liste, a Spaniard, plans to create a multimedia map illustrating the origins of Brazilian inequality and violence, utilizing photography, video and first person interviews to draw attention to the effects caused by 4% of Brazil's landowners controlling 80% of the country's arable land.

Scooby over Scott!
Kourtney Kardashian kept herself occupied while her ex Scott Disick partied it up in Las Vegas on Friday, July 24. The mom of three spent time with her sisters, and squeezed in a showing of Scooby Doo with one of her sons.
PHOTOS: Celebrity splits in 2015
"Scoobs in bed with my boy. #perfectfridaynight," Kardashian, 36, captioned an Instagram photo, without clarifying if she was with Mason or Reign. Two hours later, she tweeted: "The lyrics to 90s r&b; are pretty amazing."
Kardashian posted the Scooby snapshot just minutes after Disick shared his monogrammed seat from 1OAK Nightclub. "It's almost time! @1oaklv," he wrote. The party was Disick's first public event since news of the pair's split went public. As previously reported, he stayed by his VIP table for most of the event, but did open up for the first time about the breakup.

"[I'm] just taking it one day at a time," he told reporters. "With everything going on right now, I need to be positive for myself." (The exes were spotted together with daughter Penelope outside The Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday.)
Kardashian, meanwhile, has kept tight-lipped about the situation. Earlier in the day, she glammed up for new Keeping Up With the Kardashians promos with Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.

"Yeah, photo shoot fresh, lookin like wealth," she captioned an Instagram pic. Kim quipped: "Set life @kyliejenner @kourtneykardash."

Disick, 32, arrived at 12:15 a.m. and looked clean cut in a gray suit and white shirt. "Scott was rather disconnected once he got into the club," the witness tells Us. "Typically a very verbal and outrageous host, [he] was rather restrained."
Disick - who previously canceled two club appearances - grabbed a bite to eat at the Mirage's Stack Restaurant before the big night.
"Dinner," he captioned his orange chicken dish via Instagram. He also relaxed poolside. "This is what I need right now," he wrote.

Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick Spotted Together Amid Split Drama

Is Scott Disick trying to keep up with Kourtney Kardashian?
The estranged pair were spotted together with daughter Penelope at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday, July 23, and sources tell Us Weekly that the exes looked downright civil.

“They were talking and seemed cordial,” an eyewitness told Us of the morning meetup. “Scott waited outside for [Kourtney and Penelope] and they all went inside together.”
According to the source, the threesome later left the hotel and headed back to Disick’s abode.
This is the first time that Kardashian, 36, and Disick, 32, have been spotted together in public since their split earlier this month. Though their children — Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 7 months — are with Kardashian, Disick has been spending time with his kids.
PHOTOS: Keeping up with Kourt -- how she stays fit!
On Wednesday, July 22, Disick was seen taking Mason to Barnes & Noble in Calabasas, Calif., to shop for toys, followed by dinner at local eatery Rosti Tuscan Kitchen.
“When he’s with Mason, there’s always games or toys spread out on the table,” a source told Us of the father-son dinner date, adding that on Wednesday, Mason was “playing with his Legos at the table.”

Kardashian, meanwhile, has been seeking counsel from top Hollywood divorce attorney, “disso queen” Laura Wasser, on how to gain sole custody of the couple’s kids, a source exclusively confirmed to Us.
Though she and Disick are not married, a source tells Us that Kardashian wants to protect their kids from Disick’s downward spiral into booze, drugs, and other vices.

“She knows being with [Wasser] is what’s in their best interest,” a Kardashian family pal tells Us of the kids. “There’s no turning back now and she is going full steam ahead with figuring out an agreement.”

Kelly Rutherford Loses Bid to Fight for Custody of Kids in California

Heartbreaking news for Kelly Rutherford. The Gossip Girl actress officially lost her bid to fight for full custody of her two young children in California on Thursday, July 23.
Rutherford's attorney David J. Glass tells Us Weekly that a judge ruled that Rutherford no longer has the right to fight for custody of her son Hermes, 8, and daughter Helena, 6, in the state of California. A judge in Monaco, where Rutherford’s ex-husband Daniel Giersch lives, had given him full custody over their children.
PHOTOS: Expensive Hollywood divorces
"We are extremely disappointed with the Ruling," Glass told Us. "Although the Court agreed with our analysis of the law, and in fact agreed with our position that citizens can have more than residence for jurisdictional purposes, the Court ultimately did not agree with us on the facts."
Rutherford and Giersch, a German businessman, have been in an ugly custody battle over their two children for the last six years. (Rutherford filed for divorce in 2008, while she was pregnant with their daughter). Both children regularly reside with Giersch in Monaco, and it was decided in December 2013 that he no longer had to pay for his children to visit the States and their mother.

The news is bittersweet, as both Hermes and Helena are temporarily in NYC with Rutherford, 46, for the summer after the actress was granted temporary sole custody in May by a California judge.
PHOTOS: Stars at court
“I know it’s not right. Parents know — everyone knows it’s not right,” Rutherford said on Good Morning America back in April. “I can sit here and tell you how often I cry. I can tell you how it feels to leave my kids in a foreign country and seeing them after not seeing them for weeks on end. Not being able to bring them from school and pick them up from school, dress them, hug them, smell them.”
The actress filed for bankruptcy in 2013, claiming $2 million in debt, including $1.5 million in legal fees and travel fees to see her children.
PHOTOS: Gossip Girl cast -- then and now
Her very public plight has gained widespread attention, including the support of some bold-faced names, including former costars Ed Westwick and Matthew Settle, and even Kim Kardashian. In May, the stars and tens and thousands of others signed a White House petition to bring Rutherford’s kids back to her.
“My children, not only were they taken away, but they were sent to a foreign country,” she continued in the GMA interview. “I don’t even know how you explain to someone what it feels like.”

LuAnn de Lesseps, Carole Radziwill Nearly Come to Blows During RHONY Reunion Fight: Details
LuAnn de Lesseps and Carole Radziwill nearly came to blows while taping the RHONY reunion show.

Don’t cross the countess!
Real Housewives of New York City’s LuAnn de Lesseps almost got physical with costar Carole Radziwill during the series’ Season 7 reunion taping on July 7, sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly.
PHOTOS: Craziest moments from RHONY
The fight started when de Lesseps, 50, accused Radziwill, 51, of stealing the countess’ niece’s one-time boyfriend, Adam Kenworthy. After Radziwill reminded de Lesseps about the countess’ romp with a married man during their Turks and Caicos trip, the “Money Can’t Buy You Class” singer snapped. “She lunged at Carole, screaming, ‘How dare you?’” reveals a show source. “Carole put her hands up and told her to back off.”
One week after the reunion (set to air as specials in August), Radziwill was still peeved. “Luann lunged at me because she couldn’t take hearing the truth about her own bad girl behavior,” Radziwill, who maintains that de Lesseps' niece had already moved on to another man before they started dating, told Us. Quoting de Lesseps' 2010 song, she added, “If elegance is learned, then she needs to go back to school!”
PHOTOS: Biggest Real Housewives fights ever
Also jumping into the action at the reunion: Heather Thomson, who defended Radziwill, and Bethenny Frankel, who was team de Lesseps.
“Heather said to Luann, ‘If you were really bothered by Carole and Adam you would have said something when you saw them snuggling up that night they met at your house,’” a second source tells Us. “She noted that they were clearly feeling sparks, but if LuAnn had said back off, Carole would have."
Thomson’s next target was Frankel, says the insider. “Heather snapped at her for constantly interrupting everyone with her commentary,” the source explains. At one point, she even told the Skinnygirl mogul she just couldn’t listen to her talk anymore. Yet that they agreed on. “Bethenny said, ‘I’m tired of me, too,’ and admitted she’s annoying,” the insider says.
Still, the 12-hour taping left Ramona Singer feeling, well, bored. Adds the first source, “She fell asleep on the couch and Andy Cohen had to wake her up!”

"That was something that I felt like, 'Do I do this?' But I thought, you know what? The girl I'm standing next to in the video is 20 years old. I'm not. This is great for women to see," she said.
She continued, "It makes me crazy that people try to put women in a box, or try to say, if you're a mom, you can't do this, or if you're sexy, then you're not smart. Yes, I can be an awesome mom, and I can be a sexy woman and I can be a smart businessperson. I can do all of it. Just let me. Mama's still got it!"

NEW YORK, NY – APRIL 01: Hulk Hogan attends the WrestleMania 30 press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe New York on April 1, 2014 in New York City. (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images)
World Wresting Entertainment was on a roll.
On July 8, Wells Fargo WFC -0.74% initiated coverage of WWE with an outperform recommendation. Shares of the entertainment company increased 14% the two-week period through Wednesday, making shareholders $160 million richer.
But after it was reported that WWE was going to sever its ties with former WWE champion Hulk Hogan due to alleged racist remarks he had made long ago that were leaked to the National Inquirer two days ago, the company’s shares have tanked. Although no longer pinning opponents in the ring, Hogan was still an important ambassador for the WWE brand and was used to promote events.
Yesterday, shares of WWE plummeted almost 4%, to $16.60, swiping about $50 million from shareholders. Meanwhile, the overall market, and shares of MSG (perhaps the closest public proxy to WWE), the company that owns regional sports networks as well as the NBA’s New York Knicks and the NHL’s New York Rangers, slipped just 1%.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is set to go to trial in a $100 million personal-injury lawsuit against Gawker Media, which posted video of a sex tape of him. Yesterday, Hogan apologized for his remarks, but WWE’s shares fell further in after hours trading last night to $16.00.

"Thank you very much! Thank you! Caitlyn Jenner in the house for her first Boy George concert!" Jenner said. "This is going to be a good group. Thank you so much. Enough about me. Thank you for being here tonight This is so much fun for me and let's hear it here at the Greek Theatre for Boy George!"

Jenner, 65, looked incredible during the night out. The I Am Cait star wore a tight-fitting dress, black leather jacket, and kept her brunette tresses down. "People gradually started screaming and clapping, rising to their feet when they recognized it was her," an onlooker tells Us Weekly.

"I expected a standing ovation for her and I wasn't disappointed," Boy George, 54, told the packed house. "We need to celebrate the kinds of changes that are happening." The singer then performed his 1983 single "Church of the Poisoned Mind."

Jenner arrived in a black party bus and walked in with several other women and a few cameraman, the source adds. One crew member was seen carrying two bottles of champagne and a stack of red Solo cups. "She looked very happy," the source added. "People on the deck were high-fiving each other saying, 'I saw Caitlyn Jenner!'"
Once inside, Jenner took her seat and danced with her good pal Candis Cayne. Despite past rumors, Jenner is not dating the transgender actress and former drag queen.

"Candis is currently single but is only interested in men, and Caitlyn is a woman," a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. Cayne, who has been like a mentor to her, previously supported Jenner as she accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPYS on July 15.

Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris in Negotiations to Join The View as Co-Hosts: Report
Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris are close to joining The View as co-hosts for Season 19
Credit: David Livingston/Getty Images; Lou Rocco/ABC via Getty Images
Add two more seats at the table! After multiple guest-hosting stints on The View, Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris are in talks to join the show in a more permanent capacity, Variety reported on Thursday, July 23.
According to the site, the Fuller House actress and the GMA Weekend co-anchor, both 39, are in "final negotiations" to become co-hosts for Season 19, alongside veteran panelist Whoopi Goldberg and fellow newcomers Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins.
PHOTOS: Talk show controversies and feuds
Per Variety, Faris would keep her GMA Weekend job, appearing on The View Monday through Thursday. Bure, meanwhile, is still figuring out her schedule, but could spend some weeks on The View in New York, and others on Netflix's Fuller House, which shoots through November in L.A.
Both stars — like Symone and Collins, who were announced as official co-hosts in June and July, respectively — have filled in at The View multiple times over the past few months. The show has gone through several casting changes since its premiere in 1997, most recently losing Rosie Perez.
PHOTOS: Full House stars, then and now
Bure made a memorable appearance on the series earlier this month, when she and Symone butted heads over the Oregon bakery that refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple, and was then fined $135,000.
"I don't think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association," the Full House alum said during the July 7 debate. "It's about constitutional rights. It's about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with."

Symone's response? "I refuse to associate with you right now!"

From Love to Bingo Getty Images AlmapBBDO
Patient research work involving more than 5 thousand photographs resulted in a 1 minute film that AlmapBBDO created to advertise Getty Images, the world leading image database for creating and distributing visual contents. The film is surprising when showing 873 images in 15 images per second, sufficient speed to transform the series into a video that, without any text, tells a beautiful story. All photos, without any exceptions, are from the Getty Images archives.

Getty Images Grants for Editorial Photography 2012
The Getty Images Grants for Editorial Photography are awarded each year. The projects of past recipients may be viewed at http://imagery.gettyimages.com/getty_images_grants/default.aspx

PHOTOS: Kourtney's body evolution

Beauty and brains! Kim Kardashian took to Twitter on Friday, July 24, to give her two cents on how to improve the social media platform — and she received an immediate reaction.
“I just emailed Twitter to see if they can add an edit feature so that when u misspell something u don’t have to delete & repost,” she wrote. “Let’s see…”

The pregnant reality TV star isn’t just spending her Friday nights at home thinking of quick-fix ways to improve the Internet, however. Kardashian, 34, stepped out that same evening to attend LACMA’s super-secret event with director Steve McQueen — in a sheer jumpsuit.
PHOTOS: Kim K's best booty moments
The unique outfit featured a nude-and-black striped floor-length pantsuit that hugged Kardashian’s curves and showed off her ample cleavage. The mom-to-be wore a black duster over the jumpsuit.
Meanwhile, husband Kanye West, 38, kept his look simple with white-and-cream tones, letting Kardashian steal the spotlight.

Earlier in the day, Kardashian shared an adorable photo of the pair and their daughter, 2-year-old North West, from a photo booth at Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s graduation party.
“My family,” she captioned the photo, which she shared on Instagram. In it, little North stares and pouts into the camera.

Keeping his chin up. Scott Disick has finally opened up about his split from longtime love Kourtney Kardashian. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star broke his silence while hosting a bash at 1OAK Nightclub in Las Vegas on Friday, July 24.

"[I'm] just taking it one day at a time," he told reporters on the red carpet. "With everything going on right now, I need to be positive for myself."
Disick, 32, arrived at 12:15 a.m. and looked clean cut in a gray suit and white shirt. An onlooker tells Us Weekly that he stuck with a bottle of water, was constantly checking his phone, and kept his distance from female fans while he hung out at his VIP table. He was joined by Love and Hip Hop Hollywood's Mally Mall and Alec Monopoly.

PHOTOS: Celebrity exes reunited
Earlier this week, Disick met up with Kardashian, 36, and the couple's 3-year-old daughter Penelope at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday. (The exes are also parents to sons Mason, 5, and Reign, 7 months.) As previously reported, Kardashian still wants Disick to have a relationship with their children, but she's in the process of seeking sole custody.

“We’ve decimated our forests, wild lands, polluted and over-fished our rivers and oceans, all the key ecosystems that not only serve as a home to our planet’s biodiversity, but also make life here for us possible,” DiCaprio said in his opening speech. “I’m incredibly proud to be part of a night that will allow us to do so much to protect the planet.”
The evening, which featured a live auction, raised more than $40 million for the foundation, easily besting last year’s $25 million.

The celebs in attendance included Kate Hudson, Orlando Bloom, Goldie Hawn, Sylvester Stallone, and many others. There were even royals present, including Prince Albert II of Monaco and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.
In addition to the auction, the event also featured a surprise performance by Sir Elton John, who sang some of his biggest hits, including “Tiny Dancer.” John Legend, who attended with wife Chrissy Teigen, also entertained with a special performance.

“Such an honor to share the stage with the incredibly talented John Legend,” the “Rocket Man” singer captioned a photo of himself with the Oscar winner. “And a joy to raise money to help save our planet for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.”

Is Scott Disick trying to keep up with Kourtney Kardashian?
The estranged pair were spotted together with daughter Penelope at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday, July 23, and sources tell Us Weekly that the exes looked downright civil.
PHOTOS: Kourt and Scott in happier days
PHOTOS: Kourtney's body evolution
Kardashian, meanwhile, has been seeking counsel from top Hollywood divorce attorney, “disso queen” Laura Wasser, on how to gain sole custody of the couple’s kids, a source exclusively confirmed to Us.
Though she and Disick are not married, a source tells Us that Kardashian wants to protect their kids from Disick’s downward spiral into booze, drugs, and other vices.
PHOTOS: Celeb dads and kids
“She knows being with [Wasser] is what’s in their best interest,” a Kardashian family pal tells Us of the kids. “There’s no turning back now and she is going full steam ahead with figuring out an agreement.”
