The Himalaya Range or Himalaya Mountains ( /ˌhɪməˈleɪ.ə/ or /hɪˈmɑːləjə/;Sanskrit: Devanagari: हिमालय, literally "abode of snow"), usually called the Himalayas or Himalaya, is a mountain range immediately to the north of the Indian subcontinent. By extension, it can also refer to the massive mountain system that additionally includes the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, and other lesser ranges that extend out from the Pamir Knot. Some of the world's major river systems arise in the Himalayas, and their combined drainage basins are home to some 3 billion people (almost half of the Earth's population) in 18 countries. The Himalayas have profoundly shaped the cultures of South Asia; many Himalayan peaks are sacred in Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.
Geologically, the Himalayas originate from the northward movement of the Indian tectonic plate at 15 cm[citation needed] per year to impact the Eurasian continent, with first contact about 70 million years ago, and with movement continuing today. This caused the formation of the Himalayan arc peaks: the lighter rocks of the seabeds of that time were easily uplifted into mountains. An often-cited fact used to illustrate this process is that the summit of Mount Everest is made of marine limestone.
Sadness
I feel my heart's not open
Last night my wings were broken
But love will come my way
Freedom
I swim right through the ocean
A really good emotion
I'll keep my dream alive
So I go to Himalaya, a thousand voices from the sky
And I feel a ray of hope deep in my heart
And my dream of Himalaya will come true 'cause I believe
In a world of peace and everlasting love
Heaven
It takes me high and higher
I hear the angels choir
The pain of love has gone
Calmness
I'll find in my religion
This is my only vision
To leave the world behind
So I go to Himalaya, a thousand voices from the sky
And I feel a ray of hope deep in my heart
And my dream of Himalaya will come true 'cause I believe
In a world of peace and everlasting love
So I go to Himalaya, a thousand voices from the sky
And I feel a ray of hope deep in my heart
And my dream of Himalaya will come true 'cause I believe
In a world of peace and everlasting love
And I feel a ray of hope deep in my heart
And my dream of Himalaya will come true 'cause I believe
Hærra en fuglar komast
Á kafi í þegar mjöll
Himnahliðin opnast
Við Himalayafjöll
Geng af mér gönguskóna
Gái á kompásinn
Blikna hvorki né blána
Blæs í trompetinn
Viðlag:
Tindurinn hvíslar Hey þú
Tindurinn hvíslar Já þúú
Tindurinn hvíslar Júhúhú
Hærra en hegrinn flýgur
Hamast vindurinn
Sæluhrollur smýgur
Í sjónmáli tindurinn
Viðlag...
Bara við tveir
Ekkert meir
Bara við tveir
J'irai là-bas
Comme on monte sur un toit
J'irai là-bas
Si je sais que tu es là...
J'irai vers toi
Sans gants, souliers, ni sherpa
J'irai vers toi
Himalaya !
J'irai là-bas
Malgré le froid ou la loi...
J'irai vers toi
Comme on va au combat
J'irai vers toi
Même si tous les chiens aboient...
J'irai là-bas
Himalaya
Roc d'amour
Le plus haut de la vie
Sommet blanc du paradis...
J'irai vers toi
Comme on supplie pour sa foi
J'irai là-bas
Comme on insulte un roi...
J'irai là-bas
Si je sais que tu es là...
J'irai là-bas
Himalaya !
Himalaya !
