While midterm coverage is largely focused on the parts of Congress that do very little, vital (and bizarre) midterm elections are going unexamined. State legislators pass a lot of bills, and some of that efficiency is thanks to a group called ALEC that writes legislation for them. It’s as shady as it sounds!

His Majesty Hassanal Bolkiah, aka the Sultan of Brunei, had a special connection with Ferrari, having spent a fortune or three in building a small fleet of them in his vast car collection. Thus, if HM wanted right-hand drive F40s, Pininfarina would oblige and do the conversion.
The Italian carrozzeria would only do so if you had bought at least six cars – so that’s the minimum number of F40s the Sultan had in his collection. According to Jalopnik, some believe that he had at least 10 RHD F40s, going as far as citing the cars’ chassis numbers and paint, while Ferrari specialist Talacrest says that he had seven.
No matter; the point is that the Sultan’s taste was a bit, well, dubious as he ordered one of the cars with the Testarrosa’s interior! Officially, Ferrari had nothing to do with it but Pininfarina, once again, did the job.
He even had a black F40 LM fitted with leather interior, air conditioning and power windows, which is kind of, well, defying the whole purpose of buying this no-frills, hardcore edition.
You know the saying, money talks etc. Whatever you make of the Sultan’s taste, or lack thereof, you have to admit that 91283, the 1992 Gun Metal Grey F40 with the red stripe, which Talacrest said restoring included a “serious conversion cost”, is not bad at all.

Thailand is a famous tourist destination due to its colorful landscape and nice people. The former Siam’s happy world awaits the tourists: colorful temples, monsateries, giant Buddha statues. Bangkok itself, a giant metropolis, is worth a travel, but there is a lot more the country has to offer: the forests of the Northern hills, the tribes living in the Golden Triangle, the elephant farms, the rice fields, the famous bridge on the river Kwai, the world of canals, romantic fishing villages, the monumental national park of Phang Nga, tropical islands, and the beaches shaded by palm trees bathing in the eternal sunshine.

Thailand – the former Siam – is an ideal place for tourism because of its natural beauties, climate, exotic culture and last but not least it hospitable people. Our film introduces one of the two tourist capitals, Phuket. The island is visited by millions of tourists for its sandy beaches shaded by coconut palms, sea water of 26-28 degrees, many opportunities to sport, and its nightlife. On the emerald green Andaman Sea we can travel to a malay fishing village built on pales, to the tropical island of Phi Phi and to one of the worlds most exotic national parks, Phang-Nga, which served as a background for several movies.

30 Things to do in Thailand Travel Guide, Top Attractions & Thai Street Food
During our time backpacking and traveling around Asia we spent more time in Thailand than any other country in SE Asia and for good reason. Unlike most tourists who visit Thailand, we decided to skip most of the beaches located in the southern regions of the country and instead focus most of our time in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai, our home away from home, became our base for several months and by the time we left we promised ourselves we'd return again in the near future. What makes Chiang Mai such a great base for foreigners? Firstly, it's cheap. You can find high quality serviced apartments for under $500 (some are less than $300) that offer modern amenities and are in located in close proximity to the old square of the city. Secondly, the food – both Thai and International – offers as much diverse selection as any city I've ever visited. If you want to gormandize on authentic Thai delights you'll have no shortage of options ranging from Thai street food to high class Thai restaurants. For the culture vulture, no shortage of opportunities exist to explore temples such as Doi Suthep, markets such as the Saturday night market or interact with animals such as at the Elephant Nature Park. When you get tired of Chiang Mai, the sleepy hillside town of Pai awaits where the pace is slower and you feel more like you're out in the countryside. Whether you love it or hate it, most journeys in Thailand begin and end in Bangkok. This steamy chaotic city offers some incredible temples to explore (such as Wat Arun and the Temple of the Mount) along with great shopping and nightlife. The following is a top attractions travel guide offering a snapshot of the best things to do in Thailand during your next vacation to Land of Smiles:

Thailand Travel Guide, Thailand Tourism, Thailand Vacation
Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube
The jewel of the Southeast Asian travel circuit, Thailand offers astonishing diversity and a truly fascinating and accessible culture that, along with the revered Thai hospitality, makes it an incredibly popular destination.
With an enticing mixture of established destinations such as Phuket and Hua Hin, and out-of-the-way palm-fringed islands, Thailand has a very exotic appeal. It caters for grungy backpacking types wanting to party into the wee hours through to those who prefer white tablecloth dining and clinking wine glasses. From staying on a converted rice barge, clambering into a jungle tree house or bedding down in a hill tribe village, the country offers a wealth of choice for all tastes and budgets.
For divers, snorkelers, and those who just like swanning around on white-powder sand there are postcard-perfect beaches, and the extraordinary metropolis of Bangkok in the south, while the north offers the sublime delights of culture-packed Chiang Mai with its temple-studded old town, and cooling forests and mountain retreats.
One of the best ways to access Thai culture is through a 'Monk chat' session in a local wat (temple) in Chiang Mai, where you get the opportunity to quiz the dignified saffron-robed monks about anything you like. And in the early morning, all over the country, the monks leave the sanctuary of their wats to receive alms from the people, be it in a dusty village or on crowded city streets. Buddhism is a way of life here and the Thais are also strong supporters of their monarchy.
And don't forget the food! A culinary adventure awaits with tempting morsels on virtually every street corner, from traditional Royal-project run restaurants to delicious piping hot street food. Eating is as much a part of the culture here as anything else and definitely the key to local hearts. If you're lucky enough to catch a local festival, it will probably be dominated by food.
The most welcoming of countries, despite being inundated with tourists and expats, it's the gentle hospitality of local people that is the strongest memory of Thailand for many visitors. And what a wonderful memory it makes.
Things to see and do
=======================
Northern Insight Meditation Centre
Thailand is a serene and thought-provoking place to do some meditation. This centre offers an intensive month-long course and there are strict rules to be observed. The beautiful leafy setting in Chiang Mai is ideal, but there are similar places all over the country; make enquiries at local temples.
Chiang Dao
Thailand's highest limestone mountain can be found here amidst a jungle oasis with an excellent selection of local accommodation. A mystical warren of caves extending some 14km (8.7 miles) can be explored, and riding a bicycle is a relaxing way to explore the area around Chiang Dao.
Chiang Mai - Old City
The temple-studded old city of Chiang Mai with its leafy residential sois, towering city gates and crumbling walls is a highlight of the north. Exploration is best by bicycle with traffic surprisingly subdued in the city walls and there are plenty of places to stop for refreshment when escaping the heat of the day.
Doi Inthanon
Escape to the cooling heights of Thailand's highest peak, where jungle walks, bird watching and simply shaking the heat of the simmering plains from your back awaits. There are good roads in the park making it easy to get around and waterfalls to splash about in.
Elephant Nature Park
Visiting an elephant sanctuary can be a wonderful experience especially if you stick to those, like this nature park, which genuinely care for the animals instead of just making them do ridiculous antics. Visitors can help wash and care for the elephants here and no riding is allowed.
JEATH War Museum
The moving JEATH War Museum (JEATH representing the first letter of Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland, the countries who lost soldiers in the region) is located in the provincial capital, Kanchanaburi and features photographs and various other memorabilia from World War II.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
One of northern Thailand's most sacred temples, Wat Suthep is perched high in the mountains overlooking the steamy metropolis of Chiang Mai below. As well as offering astounding views the temple, established in the 14th century, has a wonderful collection on Lanna Art and architecture.
Bangkok's Siam Ocean World
Dive with the sharks in the aquarium at Bangkok's Siam Ocean World (www.siamoceanworld.co.th), and live to tell the tale. There's a daily feeding of sharks and penguins and the deep reef zone is a fascinating glimpse into a magical underwater world.

Things to do in Chiang Mai Thailand | Top Attractions Travel Guide
When deciding on a base in Southeast Asia we carefully thought about where to go. Soon it became a no brainer that Chiang Mai would be the perfect fit. Considering how affordable it is to live there in tandem with the amazing dining options certainly won us offer. Moreover, the Chiang Mai offers numerous top attractions and things to do. In our latest travel guide we attempt to highlight as many of our favorite attractions in Chiang Mai as possible:
1) Chiang Mai is famous for its night markets. We suggest starting off at the Sunday Night Market which is best explored from Thapea Gate. From handicrafts to silverware and from souvenirs to silks, you'll shop until you drop. In my opinion, an even better thing to do at the market is to indulge in as much Thai street food as possible.
2) Elephant tourism runs rampant in and around Chiang Mai. Unfortunately, the well being of the elephants is rarely a consideration. Visiting the Elephant Nature Park, known as an elephant sanctuary and rehabilitation center, is somewhere you can go to interact with elephants knowing full well they are being taken care of and not exploited. A trip to the park is a memorable experience that is both incredibly fun and extremely education.
3) From the roof of our apartment building we had often had unobstructed views of Doi Suthep. It was only a matter of time before we decide to take a Songthaew up to explore it on foot. Although it is very touristy, it is still well worth a visit - especially for the views of Chiang Mai!
4) Few cuisines are more famous around the world than Thai food. While you're in Chiang Mai be sure to take a cooking class to learn how to make all of your favorite Thai dishes. An even better idea is to go to the countryside where you can have a more authentic and rural cooking experience.
5) Although I love the Sunday Night Market my favorite night market in Chiang Mai happens on Saturday. Possibly because it is only a stone throw away from where we lived in Chiang Mai, I just enjoyed wandering through the maze of people and shops to eat as much Thai street food as possible.
6) You can't visit Chiang Mai without trying its most famous Northern Thai dish - Khao Soi. Crispy and soft noodles float around in a coconut milk base with various vegetables. It's delicious and one of the cheapest meal options in the city!
7) When you have time - and a friend to go with - reserve a table at a restaurant that specializes in Khantoke sets. Served with sticky rice and a plethora of small dishes you'll get a real sense of what Northern Thai food is all about.
8) Wander around the neighborhoods outside of the city center. A big part of why Chiang Mai is so charming has to do with its various neighborhoods. Get off the beaten path and just go explore around. Here we show you our neighborhood, which is not far from Chiang Mai South Gate.

Bangkok is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand. The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over eight million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over fourteen million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
The most important places to visit in Bangkok are: Wat Arun (Bangkok has one of the greatest collections of temples in the world. This Buddhist temple, also known as "Temple of the Dawn" is quite spectacular), Lumpini Park (Bangkok is a massive city; Lumpini Park offers an excellent escape from the city's hustle and bustle. You can just relax or engage in an activity), Wat Pho (it is said to be the largest and oldest Buddhist temple in Bangkok. An extremely large statue of a reclining Buddha is a big draw), Floating Market (truly a unique experience where many vendors prepare food right on their tiny boats. You will find a festive atmosphere along with delicious food), Wat Traimit (another famous temple in Bangkok, it is located close to China Town and is known as also known as the "The Temple of the Golden Buddha"), Vimanmek Palace (this magnificent former royal palace is the world's largest golden teak wood mansion), Chinatown (a colorful area with many interesting shop and of course fantastic Chinese food), Ayutthaya (located outside of Bangkok, this ancient city was founded over 600 years ago. Amidst the remaining temple structures, you can relive its history), Chatuchak (believed to be the largest market in Thailand, the exciting market has literally thousands of stalls and tens of thousands of daily visitors), Grand Palace (constructed in the 18th century, undoubtedly it is the most popular attraction of Bangkok and a must see for anyone visiting this city) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Bangkok travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

When you tour Bangkok, you’re immersing yourself in a city of contrasts. From its homage to ancient cultures to the ultra-modern skyscrapers that line the downtown area, you’ll soon discover why this lively metropolis wins so many “World’s Best City” awards from various publications. Some claim, it’s the perfect mixture of food, friendly citizens, shopping, and things to do.
Step into Krung Thep, or The City of Angels, and let your adventure begin. You might be confused when you first arrive; where, exactly, are these angels? But a close look at the smiling people will soon make it obvious. You can see more of this care and attention to detail in the many temples that dot the city’s landscape, as well as their daily lives. Thai arts and crafts are indicative of this…especially their culinary art.
If you’re visiting Bangkok for the food, you’re in good company. Did you know there are 50,000+ places to eat in Bangkok alone? Whether you’re here for five-star dining or a funky little café, you’ll find all kinds of gastronomical delights when you arrive. But here’s a secret: head down to the streets instead of the restaurants. The street food is a bargain, and praised by locals and visitors alike.
If you’re not eating or relaxing, you’re probably shopping. Sightseeing in Bangkok always includes some sort of purchasing spree, whether it’s clothing, crafts, artwork, or that perfect piece of furniture for your living room.
Don’t think you have to head to bed just because the sun has gone down. The nightlife here is hopping with clubs, glowing lights, and river cruises.
What will you do in Bangkok?

ATTRACTIONS:
There are numerous floating markets in Bangkok but tucked just some 100 kilometers away from the city center is the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. A trip to this market is a fascinating insight of the rich Thai life and culture.
Learn more about world history as you spend a day exploring the gigantic prang (towers) and monuments in Ayutthaya. This popular tourist destination which is favorably situated at the head of the Gulf of Siamis considered as one of Asia's most successful trading capitals.
EAT, SHOP, AND PARTY:
A trip to Bangkok is not complete without a taste of the city's street food. Choose among the variety of options like noodles, soups, green papaya salads, and many more! Mark Wiens visits Phetchaburi Soi Ten to dig into a sweet and savory snack called khanom kro (coconut griddle cake).
Itching to experience the Bangkok's nightlife? Head over to Khaosan Road for a night to bar hopping and dance parties.
Bangkok is also known for its wide selection of retail products. For a unique shopping experience, swing by the Patpong Night Market for souvenirs, clothes, and housewares.
While in Bangkok, make sure you also check out:
* Phetchaburi Soi Ten
* Lumphini Park

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: State Legislatures and ALEC (HBO)
While midterm coverage is largely focused on the parts of Congress that do very little, vital (and bizarre) midterm elections are going unexamined. State legislators pass a lot of bills, and some of that efficiency is thanks to a group called ALEC that writes legislation for them. It’s as shady as it sounds!

Sultan Brunei Ferrari F40
Sultan Brunei Ferrari F40
The Ferrari F40 is one of the most revered supercars of all time. It may not be the fastest, the best handling or the easiest to drive, but that Pininfarina shape and its no-frills character have ensured it a place in history.
When its production ended after a five-year run in 1992, 1,315 examples had left the factory. All of them wore bodies in Rosso Corsa paint and, more crucially, were left-hand drive. That’s what company officials told us at the time…
His Majesty Hassanal Bolkiah, aka the Sultan of Brunei, had a special connection with Ferrari, having spent a fortune or three in building a small fleet of them in his vast car collection.

Travel video about destination Thailand.
Thailand is a land of smiles and sunshine, the gem of Asia. A fascinating land of contrast, chaotic traffic, serene temples, poverty, wealth, hustle and contemplation. The metropolis of Bangkok boasts many wonderful sights such as Wat Phra Kaeo, the Temple Of The Emerald Buddha, that is highly revered by the Thai people. The city’s most important landmark is also its most beautiful temple complex, a wonderful work of art comprising golden Chedis and numerous resplendent buildings. The River Kwai Bridge: the film of the same name made the bridge world famous. In Kanchanaburi the railway spans the wide River Kwai and this bold construction consists of steel and concrete, not wood as was depicted in the film. A bridge that symbolises the brutality of war built by thousands of prisoners of war under the command of the Japanese. Thirteen kilometres north of Bang-In is the former capital of ancient Thailand, Ayutthaya. The most famous historic site in Thailand has retained its exotic appearance. The Wat Mahathat was built in around 1380. Its main feature is a mighty banyan tree whose roots grow around a severed Buddha head. Chiang Mai is the most important city in northern Thailand and is located within a fertile river valley three hundred metres above sea level. The centre of the first independent kingdom in Thailand situated within the famous Golden Triangle. The Hmong are the largest of the northern mountain tribes. They originated in Laos and Southern China and it is believed that this tribe, divided into clans, once had its own kingdom. Thailand is a mysterious land full of contrast, natural beauty and superlative exotica!

30 Things to do in Thailand Travel Guide, Top Attractions & Thai Street Food

Things to see and do
=======================

Thailand Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
