Ringsend (Irish: An Rinn) is a southside inner suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is located on the south bank of the River Liffey and east of the River Dodder, about two kilometres east of the city centre. It is the southern terminus of the East Link Toll Bridge. Areas included in Ringsend are the south side of the Dublin Docklands, and at the west end is the area of South Lotts and part of the Grand Canal Dock area. Neighbouring areas include Irishtown, Sandymount and the Beggars Bush part of Ballsbridge to the south, and the city centre to the west.
At 207.8 metres and 207.48 metres, the Poolbeg Generating Station chimneys in Ringsend are the tallest structures in Dublin. The Poolbeg chimneys have been defunct since 2010 and were due to be dismantled, however by popular local demand the ESB have decided to keep them standing.
Formerly the point where ships arriving across the Irish Sea would dock, Ringsend went into decline in the 19th and 20th centuries, when the shipping moved to other locations, although there is still some container shipping.

Shot on the 19th August 2015 using a Canon GX7. Dublin's Great South Wall a.k.a. the South Bull Wall extends from Ringsend 4 Km out into Dublin Bay. Construction on the wall commenced 300 years ago (1717) when huge oak piles were driven into the boulder clay below, eventually huge granite blocks quarried in Dalkey were used for the walkway. Poolbeg Lighthouse (painted red) at the end of the wall has been operational in its current form since 1820, it replaced a lightship which stood their since 1782. Upon its completion in 1795 this was the longest sea wall in the World and remains one of the longest in Europe. Music by Bensound www.bensound.com

On Good Friday 2016, i decided to attempt to walk a marathon around Dublin. My route took me all over the city. I started in Mount Merrion and walked through the following places: Churchtown, Templeogue, Walkinstown, Bluebell, Inchicore, Hybreasal, Islandbridge, the Phoenix Park, Castleknock, the Phoenix Park again, the Quays, North Wall, Ringsend, Sandymount, Merrion, Booterstown and home. Overall it took me 8 hours and 20 minutes to walked 41.5km, tough but a great experience. I shot the video with a GoPro Hero 4 and used a Gildecam stabilizer for the walking shots. Edited in FCPX

We challenged Fuchsia Macaree, one of Dublin's most talented illustrators with one not-so-easy task: draw her version of the incredible view of Dublin from the Portview House in Ringsend Village in just one day. The result is a stunning video of Fuchsia in action, capturing Dublin at its most beautiful. http://www.visitdublin.com/DublinFestivals/Article/dublin_timelapse_illustrations
Two nice Dubliners I meet on a sunny day working on the bank of River Liffey.
I always wanted you by my side
I felt you were my guide
The one who showed me what`s right
I used to think that you were my light
And trusted in your smile
But now you have decide
Runaway, runaway, runaway
Searching everyday, try to find your way
Runaway, runaway, runaway
Wanna find you, oh baby wanna
Runaway, runaway, runaway
Everything is grey, miss you more each day
Runaway, runaway, runaway
I will find you, you`ll never runaway
I always wanted you by my side
I felt you were my guide
The one who show me what`s right
I used to think that you were my light
And trusted in your smile
But now you have decide
Runaway, runaway, runaway
Searching everyday, try to find your way
Runaway, runaway, runaway
Wanna find you, oh baby wanna
Runaway, runaway, runaway
Everything is grey, miss you more each day
