The war and its subsequent Internal Settlement, signed in 1978 by Smith and Muzorewa, led to the implementation in June 1979 of universal suffrage and end of white minority rule in Rhodesia, which was renamed Zimbabwe Rhodesia under a black majority government. However, this new order failed to win international recognition and the war continued. Negotiations between the government of Zimbabwe Rhodesia, the British government and Mugabe and Nkomo's united "Patriotic Front" took place at Lancaster House, London in December 1979, and the Lancaster House Agreement was signed. The country returned temporarily to British control and new elections were held under British and Commonwealth supervision in March 1980. ZANU won the election and Mugabe became the first Prime Minister of Zimbabwe on 18 April 1980, when the country achieved internationally-recognised independence.

Rhodesian FAL
As I continued my search through the Russian Archive I found a South African FAL that had sterile markings for the Rhodesians and was captured later captured in Angola. The Rhodesian 'bush war' was the most prolonged conflict the FAL was ever used. It served with distinction and now the 'baby poop' camo paint of the "Rhodie" FAL is seen as a badge of honor for a rifle that left the battle unvanquished. Enjoy!

A very rare documentary about the Rhodesian Special Air Service.
The formation of the Rhodesian SAS goes back to November 1959 when it was decided in the Federal Assembly to form a Parachute Evaluation Detachment to examine the practicalities of military parachuting and parachute training in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, with a view to the possible formation of an airborne unit. This was announced by the then Federal Minister of Defence John Moore Caldicott, but it was Sir Roy Welensky who was the reported driving force behind the reforming of what was to become the SAS.
In 1960 a detachment of RAF arrived under Squadron Leader E. Minter to conduct the training of the Parachute Evaluation Detachment (PED). By March 1960, the PED was complete and those on the course were presented their wings by the said Minister of Defence. The "experiment" was a complete success and in July decided to form a regular European Special Air Services Squadron. In late 1960, No 1 Training Unit was formed, and once assembled and trained they would form the nucleus of what was to become: 1 Rhodesian Light Infantry (RLI) and "C" Squadron SAS.
In early 1961 six volunteers from the Air Force were sent to RAF Abingdon in England for parachute instructor training and a further group of volunteer officers and NCO's to complete a selection course with the SAS in Britain. On their return they called for volunteers from No. 1 Training Unit and in August 1961 the first of many selection courses was run in the Matopos just outside Bulawayo. No 1 basic training course completed their training in November and were presented their wings by Sir Malcolm Barrow, CBE, MP and then Deputy Prime Minister.
In late 1961 the SAS were moved to Tug Argan Barracks (named after the Battle of Tug Argan, fought 10–15 August 1940), Ndola in Northern Rhodesia along with the Selous Scouts Armoured Car Regiment. By July the following year, No 9 basic course received their wings from the Federal Prime Minister himself, Sir Roy Welensky, KCMG, MP. In August 1962, the Unit had sufficient men to become operational and became known as "C" Squadron (Rhodesian) Special Air Service.
With the breakup of the Federation at the end of 1963, the Squadron was virtually destroyed by many taking the "golden handshake" and some remaining in Northern Rhodesia which included all the officers and the OC at that time. Only 38 NCO's and men remained to serve in Southern Rhodesia. The Unit was relocated to Cranborne Barracks in Salisbury. The initial years after the break-up found the unit having difficulty in attracting recruits. This was largely due to the high standards required of an SAS soldier and also due to the "ill feeling" between the SAS and the RLI (from where most of the recruits should have been selected).
Nevertheless, both the SAS and the RLI played crucial roles in the domestic counter-insurgency effort during the Rhodesian Bush War. The SAS and the Selous Scouts, were the principal special forces units used in external operations. In terms of some of the most important of the external operations, the SAS and RLI both participated in Operation Dingo in November 1977, which was one of the most successful operations conducted during the war.
The numbers of men in the SAS went up to approximately 250 when in June 1978 "C" Squadron (Rhodesian) Special Air Service became 1 (Rhodesian) Special Air Service Regiment.[2] The unit moved to their new barracks called Kabrit in 1979 and continued to serve with outstanding success and distinction[citation needed] until it was disbanded with the transition to black majority rule on 31 December 1980 as Rhodesia became Zimbabwe. "D" Squadron was the "cover" name given to the South African Special Forces, Alpha Group from 1 Reconnaissance Commando (1 RC) & Bravo Group from 5 RC who worked alongside "C" Squadron SAS in the South-East corner of Rhodesia and Gaza Province,of Mozambique both separately and jointly from late 1977 – June 1978. SA personnel were also deployed with Rhodesian SAS on Op Splinter on Lake kariba, in 1978.

The Spiritual Memoirs of Andrew Young: Civil Rights Activist, Minister & Statesman (1994)
Andrew Jackson Young (born March 12, 1932) is an American politician, diplomat, activist and pastor from Georgia. He has served as a Congressman from Georgia's 5th congressional district, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and Mayor of Atlanta. He served as President of the National Council of Churches USA, was a member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, and was a supporter and friend of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Since leaving political office in 1989, Young has founded or served in a large number of organizations founded on public policy, political lobbying and international relations, with a special focus on Africa.
In 1977, President Jimmy Carter appointed Young to serve as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Young resigned from Congress, and his seat was taken by Wyche Fowler after a special election.
Although the US and the UN enacted an arms embargo against South Africa, as President Carter's UN ambassador, Andrew Young vetoed economic sanctions.[5]
Young caused controversy when, during a July 1978 interview with French newspaper Le Matin de Paris, while discussing the Soviet Union and its treatment of political dissidents, he said, "We still have hundreds of people that I would categorize as political prisoners in our prisons," in reference to jailed civil-rights and anti-war protestors. In response, U.S. Representative Larry McDonald (D-GA) sponsored a resolution to impeach Young, but the measure failed 293 to 82. Carter referred to it in a press conference as an "unfortunate statement".[1]
In 1979, Young played a leading role in advancing a settlement in Rhodesia with Robert Mugabe and Joshua Nkomo, who had been two of the military leaders in the Rhodesian Bush War, which had ended in 1979. The settlement paved the way for Mugabe to take power as Prime Minister of the newly formed Republic of Zimbabwe. There had been a general election in 1979, bringing Bishop Abel Muzorewa to power as leader of the United African National Council leading to the short-lived country of Zimbabwe Rhodesia. Young refused to accept the election's results, and described the election as "neofascist", a sentiment echoed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 445 and 448. The situation was resolved the next year with the Lancaster House Agreement and the establishment of Zimbabwe.[1]
Young's favoring of Mugabe and Nkomo over Muzorewa and his predecessor and ally, Ian Smith, was, and remains, controversial. Many African-American activists, including Jesse Jackson and Coretta Scott King, supported the anti-colonialism represented by Mugabe and Nkomo.[1] However, it was opposed by others, including civil-rights leader Bayard Rustin, who argued that the 1979 election had been "free and fair",[6] as well as senators Harry F. Byrd, Jr. (I-VA) and Jesse Helms (R-NC). It was later criticized in 2005 by Gabriel Shumba, executive director of the anti-Mugabe Zimbabwe Exiles Forum.[7]
In July 1979, Young discovered that an upcoming by the United Nations Division for Palestinian Rights called for the creation of a Palestinian State. Young wanted to delay the because the Carter Administration was dealing with too many other issues at the time. He met with the UN representatives of several Arab countries to try to convince them the should be delayed; they agreed in principle, but insisted that the Palestine Liberation Organization also had to agree. As a result, on July 20, Young met with Zehdi Terzi, the UN representative of the PLO, at the apartment of the UN Ambassador from Kuwait. On August 10, news of this meeting became public when Mossad leaked its illegally-acquired transcript of the meeting first to Prime Minister Menachem Begin, and then through his office to Newsweek.[8] The meeting was highly controversial, since the United States had already promised Israel that it would not meet directly with the PLO until the PLO recognized Israel's right to exist.[1]
Young's UN ambassadorship ended on August 14.[1][9][10] Jimmy Carter denied any complicity in what was called the "Andy Young Affair", and asked Young to resign. Asked about the incident by Time soon afterward, Young stated, "It is very difficult to do the things that I think are in the interest of the country and maintain the standards of protocol and diplomacy... I really don't feel a bit sorry for anything that I have done."[11] Soon afterward, on the television show Meet the Press, he stated that Israel was "stubborn and intransigent."

He remained Prime Minister for almost all of the 14 years of international isolation that followed, and oversaw Rhodesia's security forces during most of the Bush War, which pitted the unrecognised government against communist-backed black nationalist guerrill

His country's first native-born premier, he led the mostly white minority government that unilaterally declared independence from the United Kingdom in 1965, following prolonged dispute over the terms. He remained Prime Minister for almost all of the 14 years of international isolation that followed, and oversaw Rhodesia's security forces during most of the Bush War, which pitted the unrecognised government against communist-backed black nationalist guerrilla groups. Smith, who has been described as personifying white Rhodesia, remains a highly controversial figure—supporters lionise him as a man of integrity and vision "who understood the uncomfortable truths of Africa", while critics describe an unrepentant racist whose policies and actions caused the deaths of thousands and contributed to Zimbabwe's later crises.
Smith was born to British immigrants in Selukwe, a small town in the Southern Rhodesian Midlands, four years before the colony became self-governing in 1923. Serving as a Royal Air Force fighter pilot in the Middle East and Europe during the Second World War, he spent months behind German lines in Italy and suffered debilitating facial and bodily wounds that remained conspicuous for the rest of his life. He set up a farm in his home town in 1948 and, the same year, became Member of Parliament for Selukwe—at 29 years old, the country's youngest ever MP. Originally a Liberal, he moved to the United Federal Party in 1953, and rose through the political ranks over the rest of the decade, serving as Chief Whip from 1958. He left in 1961 in protest at the territory's new constitution, and the following year helped Winston Field to form the all-white, firmly conservative Rhodesian Front (RF), which called for the colony's full independence without an immediate shift to black majority rule.

This video by George Lees and Gordon Bowden is an hour long. the financial and economic crimes revealed are enormous and have the worlds' people in austerity and many 9in the developing world) in shallow graves. When genocides occur only local activists are accused of war crimes. We talk about the Bush Dynasty and Blair arming Iraq and private militias in Africa, the middle east and the Oman nukes made by Bredenkamp in South Africa and in Mugabe's/Smith's Rhodesia. We talk about sporting figureheads like Phil edmonds the International cricketer and the HALO trust's scams and the land mine trading that was one of the contributory factors in Princess Dianna's shameful persecution and death. Most importantly we talk about the trillion dollar financial frauds often dealing in virtual "non-existant products" in mining /oil /gas and how the illicit funds are raised in the Alternative investment Markets (notably the AIM in London, Torronto, Germany and China but all countries have these scams often before the transitional government imposed by the millitias is in place). Together they generate/control all rights to issue currency and stocks/shares only to their elite friends and to launder the proceeds into havens in Switzerland delaware Florida, Cuba, Mexico or offshore. We talk about corrupt companies like Lonmin (subsiduary of Lonrho) who kill their staff in the payround negotiations. We talk about the history of Tiny Rowlands, the Isle of Man NAZI internment camps and his release into the RSA/Rhodesia in 1942 to create a mining empire in Gold Diamands then to come back to Britain to be the unacceptable face of capitalism. We forgot to mention it but Lonrho's current chairman is Prince Charles' personal financial advisor. Al Fayed, Lord Patten and many mor infamous characters have served on the board and we discuss their boiler rooms in Finchley, Arlington Street (behind the Ritz) Bristol, Fetter Lane. The scams of false news from the BBC (which Patten runs) is shared by Ingenious Films LLP....with David/Posh Beckham, Steven Gerrard, the Neville brothers, Gary Linker and leading bankers like sir John Craven on the board (Deutsche Bank, JP Motgan-grenfell). They liase with the PM's friends in the chipping Norton set, illicit charitable scams (red nose day, WWF, British Legion, The Poppy fund and fail to read out the names of the war dead even in their local parishes. The Duke of westminster (Britains richest man) is a director at the Br Legion where they run a £7million insurance hedge fund to protect the profiteers from litigation by the impoverished masses. We profile the virtual oil and gas scams, erosion of our industrial productivity, public sector funding and jobs and reveal how the private security firms like G4S are now headed up by NATO commanders in chief (Lord Guthrie: a Blair life peer since 2001 and an NM Rothschild bank director like former chancellor Norman Lamont....who crashed our economy and our real estate pubbles before these teams got really violent and rich in the noughties! We talk about our relentless campaign to inform the people of the theft from the world's people and the endless brutalisation of innocent countries. WE finish by revealing that politicians like Alex Salmond SNP and Nigel farage UKIP (who are picked by the corrupted teams) have been informed in hundreds of Emails over 2-3 years of exactly who the fraudsters are and how G8 leaders run the world like the MAFIA (with NATO and the UN entirely at their disposal as profiteers). We profile the PONZI schemes in Westminster and roles for Dave Prentis on the court of the bank of England. We tell the audience about the scams against british students and the jobless youngsters and how this leads to a life in poverty and joblessness. All households are now feeling the pinch as they de-commission, armies, public police forces and have all institutions/countries on the globe in a massive pool of toxic debt that means all infrastructure projects, olympic events, world cups cost more than all of the previous events added together (as is the case with sovereign debt in every nation across the globe). Lastly we reveal how the world sees the ownership of other people asets as a well understood joke notably with oil and gas (where there is a real product) and how this is paid for by the lives and land of the locals. If you do not understand this or the characaters/ names involved then please loook them up in the index on this web site.....as we reveal in the summary the information is now going viral and is being shared with activists and anti-treason researchers GLOBALLY and the pin stripe brigade and the PM's friends in Chipping Norton, the SKY News Empire and the G8-G20 summits are in a really dangerous position as the masses who die for this realise they fund it all from their sacrifice and loyalty to tyrants and thieves.

Enjoy!

Rhodesian Special Air Service documentary

I really don't feel a bit sorry for anything that I have done."[11] Soon afterward, on the television show Meet the Press, he stated that Israel was "stubborn and intransigent."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_YoungA top aide to Martin Luther King, Jr., and one of history's most important civil rights leaders, Andrew Young has been a witness to history and made his own.

Ian Smith
Ian Douglas Smith, GCLM, ID (8 April 1919 – 20 November 2007) was a politician, farmer and fighter pilot who served as Prime Minister of Rhodesia (or Southern Rhodesia) from 1964 to 1979.

Governments Steal From the World's people (fraud by G20 leaders & the Chipping Norton Cabal)
Governments Steal From the World's people (fraud by G20 leaders & the Chipping Norton Cabal)
