Three Times (最好的時光; Zuì hǎo de shí guāng; lit. 'Best of Times') is a 2005 Taiwanese film directed by Hou Hsiao-Hsien. It features three chronologically separate stories of love between May and Chen, set in 1911, 1966 and 2005, using the same lead actors, Shu Qi and Chang Chen.
The film was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival and received positive reviews.
Three Times was originally meant to be an omnibus collection of short films, with Hou Hsiao-hsien directing only one of the segments. The producers were unable to rustle the financing to be able to hire three directors, so instead, Hou took over production.[1]
(Chinese: 戀愛夢; pinyin: liàn ài mèng) Set in Kaohsiung in 1966, with dialogue in Taiwanese Hokkien.
(Chinese: 自由夢; pinyin: zì yóu mèng) Set in Dadaocheng in 1911, with dialogue presented only through on-screen captions. The theme of freedom joins with the theme of love - the young courtesan dreams of liberty and Taiwan itself at this time was occupied by the Japanese.

His grandfather's house was across the street from the home of the president of the college. His family moved to Joliet, Illinois, where he graduated from Joliet Township High School, East Campus. They signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 1968 for one record before moving on to Motown Records initially as a support act to The Jackson 5. The Commodores then became established as a popular soul group. Their first several albums had a danceable, funky sound, as in such tracks as "Machine Gun" and "Brick House." Over time, Richie wrote and sang more romantic, easy-listening ballads such as "Easy," "Three Times a Lady," "Still," and the tragic breakup ballad "Sail On."

Selfdefense or murder of first degree.
Tell me who are you to pass judgement.
Raise my hand in anger,
a just cause, to pacify the aggressor at all cost.
So what is the law?
When all else fails, there's nothing left.
Given a choice.
Stand back or suffer the consequences.
Three times,
my fist came down.
So what is the law?
When all else fails, there's nothing left.
Given a choice.
Stand back or suffer the consequences right now.
[spoken]
I refuse to be victimized, or given your pathetic fucking powertrip.
You're not looking to kill anyone, you just want to display how big and
strong you are.
Well, check again motherfucker!
Do you think that you'll live forever?
I have no qualms about mortalizing your arse!
Check again motherfucker!
You're in the real world now.
So how does that feel for a change?
How does it feel to be the victim?
Victim..victim...victim
Twisted indifference,
Violence against violence.
Destroy resistance.
Violence against violence.
Selfdefense or murder at first degree.
Tell me who are you to pass judgement?
Cold reality, suffer the ultimate truth.
Die motherfucker!
So what is the law?
When all else fails, there's nothing left.
Given a choice.
Stand back or suffer the consequences right now.
Three times,
three times
