Taipei City (/ˌtaɪˈpeɪ/; [tʰǎipèi]; Chinese: 臺北市 or 台北市; pinyin: Táiběi Shì) is the capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Situated at the northern tip of the island of Taiwan, Taipei is located on the Tamsui River; it is about 25 km southwest of Keelung, a port city on the Pacific Ocean. It lies in the two relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung (基隆河) and Xindian (新店溪) rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border. The city proper (Taipei City) is home to an estimated 2,618,772 people. Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung together form the Taipei metropolitan area with a population of 6,900,273. However, they are administered under different local governing bodies. "Taipei" sometimes refers to the whole metropolitan area, while "Taipei City" refers to the city proper. Taipei City proper is surrounded on all sides by New Taipei.
Taipei is the political, economic, and cultural center of Taiwan. The National Palace Museum which has one of the largest collections of Chinese artifacts and artworks in the world is located in Taipei. Considered to be a global city, Taipei is part of a major industrial area. Railways, high speed rail, highways, airports, and bus lines connect Taipei with all parts of the island. The city is served by two airports – Taipei Songshan and Taiwan Taoyuan.

From posting a video of the flight path of GE235, I have received comments talking about the renewal of talks to close Taipei Songshan Airport. As I have no knowledge of Taipei, I have made this tour ending with Taoyuan International Airport and *if* the flight would have been different - as you will see at 4.2 miles, there are no buildings, just the sea. Prayers with all those families involved.

Travel video about destination Taiwan.
Taiwan, the Beautiful Island or, ‘Ilha Formosa’: a land of gods, spirits and temples - an island at the end of a rainbow! This south east Asian island is separated from the Chinese mainland by the Formosa Strait that at its narrowest point is a hundred and thirty kilometres wide. Taipei is a pulsating metropolis in the north of the island in which emperors’ treasures and chaotic traffic highlight both industrial strength and a Chinese way of life. In the old town district of Wan Hua is the city’s oldest and most precious Buddhist temple of Lungshan Szu, the Dragon Mountain Temple. The Sun Yi Sen Memorial

Probably one of the most famous things to do in Taipei is go to the Taipei 101, which is the tallest and most iconic building in the city. On the first few floors of the Taipei 101 is a luxury mall, but the most popular attraction is the Taipei 101 Observatory, which is located on the 89th and 91st floors. The entrance price is a pretty steep cost of 500 Taiwan Dollars, but it’s a popular thing to do and I wanted to check it out during out trip. We arrived in the morning, right after they opened at about 9 a

Taipei is the glittering capital of Taiwan, and one of the hottest travel destinations in all of Asia. When you visit this thriving city, you’ll find collections of stunning futuristic buildings interspersed with ancient Chinese temples and traditions.
One of these temples, Longshan, is located in Wanhua, the city’s oldest neighborhood. This is where you come to find good fortune, good health, and spiritual advice of all sorts. Once you’ve attained the guidance and wisdom you may not have realized you sought, head to 228 Peace Park, where you will find the memorial to the 1949 uprisings that eventually led to Taiwan’s independence.
Don’t worry about getting around the city; the Taipei Rapid Transit System, or MRT, will take you just about anywhere you need to go. Hop on it to pay a visit to the National Palace Museum, where you’ll find a giant collection of Chinese art and artifacts. There’s over half a million pieces related to ancient Chinese royalty here, and you can spend days exploring them all.
To plan out your next move, make your way to Taipei 101. This is one of the world’s tallest buildings, and you can soar to the top for a breathtaking view of the city and pick out the next place you’ll visit. Do you see Elephant Mountain? It’s not far from the downtown area, and it’s a short climb to the top for another look at Taipei. Keep up with the nature theme and make your stop the Taipei Zoo, where you’ll meet the largest menagerie of animals in Asia.
Cap off a day of Taipei sightseeing and adventure at Shilin Night Market, where you can join the locals in finding that next great meal or landing a spectacular bargain.

Mouth-Numbing Sichuan Hot Pot in Taipei (Taiwan Day 9)
Get your free copy of my street food guide (for free): http://migrationology.com/41-irresistible-meals/
Day 9 in Taiwan, Ying and I decided to take a relatively easy day by going to a few museums, and doing something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, eat a Sichuan hot pot.
0:26 Miniatures Museum of Taiwan
The first place on our agenda for the day was a quick stop at the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan, a small private museum of models of famous buildings and architectures, especially European and English style. The museum was alright if you like to see models and the models were incredibly well detailed and very well done. Overall, it wasn’t really my style of a museum though, so we just spent a few minutes there and then it was time to eat lunch.
1;39 Old Sichuan Hot Pot - Incredible Meal
After a quick search, I noticed there was a Sichuan hot pot restaurant located just around the block from the Miniature Museum of Taiwan, and so we headed right there as they opened to have a Sichuan hot pot meal experience. The restaurant was very nice and well decorated, a real nice place. I wasn’t sure how expensive it was going to be, but we just decided to go for it and have lunch. Our water didn’t really speak English, so it was a bit of a challenge to order, but luckily they had pictures of the different plates to order, and from there they served everyone the same due of soups for the hot pot. Sichuan hot pot is a bit different from other types of hot pot because of the soup. The soup contained a lot of Sichuan pepper corns, which are little berries that have a numbing effect on the mouth and tongue as you eat them. Along with the boiling broth, we ordered a plate of beef, pork, and a plate of fish and vegetables. My first experience with eating a Sichuan hot pot was amazing, and my mouth stayed numbing and tinging for our entire meal. It for sure made me crave more Sichuan food and I can’t wait to visit Sichuan hopefully in the future. Our Sichuan hot pot meal was a bit on the expensive side, but the quality was fantastic and it was well worth it.
7:30 Confucius Temple
A few days before Ying and I had tried to visit the Confucius Temple, but unfortunately it was closed on the day we went. So since we weren’t too far, we decided to go back to the Confucius Temple. It was very quiet, and we just browsed around for a few minutes.
8:17 Taipei Fine Arts Museum
Our final stop of the day was a visit to the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, a museum showcasing contemporary Taiwanese art. The museum was quite interesting if you enjoy modern art, and for the price it was worth visiting.
Pretty tired and feeling amazing after that Sichuan hot pot, we went back to our hotel and called it a day. It wasn’t a very long Day 9, but it was very good - an amazing meal.

On Day 10 in Taipei, Taiwan, Ying and I decided to take a day trip to Jiufen (of Jiu Fen) and on to Keelung City and have a day of eating Taiwanese street food. I’m extremely happy we had a chance to briefly visit both Jiufen and Keelung City. I’ll just quickly go over where and how we went from Taipei to Jiufen and then on to Keelung City using timecodes so you can come back to a location in the video easily if you want to.
0:38 How to Get from Taipei to Jiufen by Bus
Using the directly I read off Wikipedia travel guide, we took the Taipei Metro to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, then took exit 1 (Andong Street) and made an immediate u-turn, walked to the intersection and made a left, and then the bus stop was right there on the right hand side. We somehow arrived to the bus stop right as 1062 arrived and if Taiwan couldn’t make things any more easy and efficient we boarded the bus using our easy cards. The bus ride from Taipei central there to the small town of Jiufen took just over 1 hour, and we soon arrived in the touristy, but very beautiful and pleasant town of Jiufen - which is one of the biggest little tourist towns in Taiwan. You can choose to take a day trip to Jiufen from Taipei like we did, or you can even spend the night or a few nights there.
2:45 Taiwanese street food at Jiufen
Jiufen is a small little mountain town in Taiwan about 1 hour from Taipei with a great view of the ocean… and it’s turned into a major tourism destination. Although you can go there to do some shopping and buy some souvenirs, by far the main reason to go to Jiufen on a day trip is to eat as much Taiwanese street food and snacks as you can - and also there are plenty of sit-down restaurant you can eat at as well. Ying and I started our day of eating Taiwan street food by eating a plate of snails and a plate of grilled squid, both of which had quite a similar texture, and the flavor was delicious. After the snails and squid, I couldn’t resist having a Taiwanese tea egg, one of the most popular snacks. After walking around and taking loads of photos of the picturesque scenes around Jiufen, Ying and I stopped at a real restaurant to take a little break, cool down from the hot sun, and eat some more food - this time at a real restaurant. I tried a dish called three cup chicken, which was deliciously comforting. Another very famous food to eat in Jiufen is the sweet taro balls, which was pretty good.
12:24 How to get from Jiufen to Keelung City on Bus #788
After spending a few hours wandering around Jiufen, we took the bus from just up the road directly to Keelung City, one of the harbour towns in Taiwan, and about a 45 minute drive from Jiufen. The reason we wanted to go to Keelung City was to go to Keelung Miaokou Night Market, one of the most famous Taiwanese street food markets in Taiwan.
13:35 Street food at Keelung Miaokou Night Market
One of the most well known night markets in Taiwan is Keelung Miaokou Night Market, located right in Keelung City, and home to an abundance of delicious things to eat. I was actually still quite full from all the food we had already eaten in Jiufen, but I did manage to try a few things at the night market, and also I just really enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere of the market. Ying and I luckily got a table and chairs at a small street food stall serving long finger sized dumplings, which were similar to gyoza. They were filled with minced pork and lots of green onions. Along with a plate of pickled cucumbers, and a plate of tofu, they were some of the best potsticker style dumplings I had on my entire trip to Taiwan. I also tried crab soup, and a famous street food called a Nutritious Sandwich.
Day 10 in Taiwan, and eating all sorts of Taiwanese street food snacks in both Jiufen and Keelung City was an excellent day trip.

This is the vlog of Day 1 of our Taiwan trip (stay tuned for all 12 days of vlogs). We woke up early in the morning in Bangkok and headed to Don Muaeng Airport. We checked into our flight via Tiger Air that offers a directly flight at a pretty good rate from Bangkok to Taipei. Everything went smoothly and our flight arrived on time. They didn’t serve any food on our airplane, but luckily as I was doing some work, my wife Ying went and bought some Subway for the airplane ride. So while I didn’t have airplane food this time, I did have Subway on an airplane.
We landed in Taipei, Taiwan, my first time to ever visit Taiwan in the early afternoon, and I had little clue how we were going to get from the airport to the center of Taipei and then on to our hotel. We ended up walking down stairs where we caught a shuttle bus from Taoyuan International Airport for 30 TWD to the Taoyuan train station in order to connect with the Taiwan high speed rail that would take us into the center of Taipei. From Taoyuan railway station we took the high speed rail which cost 165 TWD and in about 20 minutes we arrived at Taipei Main station, which is the major hub of transportation in the center of Taipei. From there we caught the local Metro to Ximen station, where our hotel was booked. After wandering around for a little while and getting a bit lost, we finally arrived into our hotel, called Go Sleep Hotel and the Xining branch, located right within the busy shopping and cultural district of Ximending in Taipei. We arrive to the hotel at about 6 pm almost and we were all very hungry and wanted to have our first meal in Taipei… but I had no idea what we were going to eat.
After walking around Ximending for a few minutes we sat down at the nearest restaurant we could find that was serving local Taiwanese food. Although I didn’t really know what we were ordering, the owner of the restaurant was very nice and after pointing to a few dishes, she kindly brought them to our table. Our first meal in Taipei, Taiwan was a success. From there we just walked around Ximending for a while, enjoying the atmosphere and sampling a few snacks along the way. There was so much food in this area, that is was crazy, so much to eat!
Thank you for watching this Taipei travel guide video vlog from Bangkok to Taipei. This is Day 1 of our Taiwan travel adventure.

The Sun Yi Sen Memorial Hall was built to commemorate the centenary of the founder of the Republic of China. His efforts brought about the abdication of the last emperor and the birth of the Republic Of China. The Confucius Temple is a place of contemplation and is a replica of the Temple Of Qu Fu, Qu Fu having been the home town of Confucius. This silent place is one of five temples in Taiwan dedicated to the great Chinese philosopher, Confucius, the founder of a religion that even today has many followers. The past importance of the former Taiwanese capital of Tainan is indicated by the city’s many temple complexes that contain an abundance of sacred works of art. Religion still plays a central role in the daily life of the people and the Tien Gon Temple is the most important temple in Taiwan. Taiwan is an island full of magical charm, fascinating works of art and breathtaking natural wonders. The legacy of Confucius mixed with the bright hope of the future. A symbiosis of industrialisation and Chinese tradition. The success of capitalism confirmed by the eternal words, “Made in Taiwan“!

Taipei 101 (Taiwan Day 4)

Probably one of the most famous things to do in Taipei is go to the Taipei 101, which is the tallest and most iconic building in the city. On the first few floors of the Taipei 101 is a luxury mall, but the most popular attraction is the Taipei 101 Observatory, which is located on the 89th and 91st floors. The entrance price is a pretty steep cost of 500 Taiwan Dollars, but it’s a popular thing to do and I wanted to check it out during out trip. We arrived in the morning, right after they opened at about 9 am, bought our tickets, and went to the elevator to go to the top of the building. The elevator ride, which they claim is the fastest elevator in the world, was quite amazingly fast. It felt like it only took about 10 seconds but in reality it actually took about 40 seconds - but to get to the 89th floor, it was still incredibly fast. Once at the top, it was mostly just an observatory set up specifically for tourists, but still worth it for the amazing views of Taipei city and the surrounding mountains.
After going to the Taipei 101 Observatory, we came down, and there happens to be a branch of Din Tai Fung, the famous Taiwanese soup dumplings restaurant at the Taipei 101. Luckily we arrived quite early when the restaurant wasn’t too busy, so we happen to get seats easily for lunch. I made a separate full video about eating at Din Tai Fung, which I’ll post later.
After lunch, since were were still near the Taipei 101, we decided to go to Elephant Hill, a mountain near Taipei 101 where there are some hiking and nature trails. After figuring out which trail to take, we took a staircase trail, which was well marked out to Elephant Hill. The walk didn’t take more than about 20 minutes, and once we arrived at the Elephant Hill lookout point, we could see the entire skyline of Taipei, but a much different perspective of Taipei from the Taipei 101 Observatory. It was good to see and I enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere and the different perspective of the skyline from the mountain. I would highly recommend going to Elephant Hill when you’re in Taipei.
Next, we rushed off to the Taipei Zoo, one of the largest and most developed zoos in Asia. The price was only 60 TWD, and it was very nice to just spend some time walking around and enjoying both the animals and the impressively lush and tropical zoo grounds. I think the Taipei zoo is one of the great things to do if you have kids, or even you can go just to walk around and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. After the Taipei zoo, we wanted to go to the Maokong Gondola, but due to stormy weather, the Gondola closed, so we had to change our plans.
From the Taipei Zoo, we headed back to the Dongmen area and had a snack of a famous Taiwanese shaved ice, and then we had dinner at a local restaurant.
That was it for Day 4 in Taiwan - pretty cool to have a chance to visit the Taipei 101 Observatory.

If the central government doesn’t establish regulations to control drones then the Taipei City government definitely will. Police say the lack of drone laws left them with little choice but to give remnants of the quadcopter that crashed into Taipei 101 back to the Chinese tourist who owned it. Taipei 101 has decided not to pursue charges because no damage was reported.

Built at a cost of NT$120 billion, the new line takes 35 minutes from Taipei to the airport. Ko praised the facilities. Ko Wen-jeTaipei MayorThe facilities are very good, very stylish. I’m someone who doesn’t like spending money, but because this is the gateway to country, it’s fine to build it like this. Ko also said that once the line is opened and the Taoyuan airport is expanded, Taipei Songshan Airport will likely be moved. Ko Wen-jeTaipei MayorThe problem right now is when the Taoyuan airport’s third runway and third terminal will be completed. Once Songshan Airport is moved, it can solve all of Taipei’s problems. The 22-kilometer Airport MRT Line is expected to open by the end of the year, but the third runway at the Taoyuan airport is not expected to be ready until 2020 at the earliest, making any talk of moving Songshan Airport premature.

Today I reported part one of my case regarding the torture abuse and murder of myself Ryan Kincade a US citizen living and working in Taipei Taiwan. In part two I will be turning in medical evidence to police along with video and audio from my private investigator which according to him has possible suspects on tape saying "there not going to babysit him forever, they're zapping him" "We are going to prison for life if he has any proof" This is a big tidal wave for people involved in this, and I will be happy to live a full life in the future without cowardly violence from invisible weapons, and the parties behind them. Hong Kong to San Francisco flight: 7R takeoff, Kowloon, Taipei, Half Moon Bay,28R landing 2015-02-13
Sights of some of the world's highest urban density rushes by on takeoff toward the built-up areas of Hong Kong's Shumshuipo and Kowloon City neighborhoods before the sudden onset of the South China Sea. An hour of flight time later, Taiwan's west coast, Taipei, and the rainy harbor of Keelung emerge. Ten landless hours later, northern California's Half Moon Bay appears on the eastern horizon on descent to landing in sunny San Francisco.

Taipei Metro Line 1 台北捷運一號線 (Nangang Exhibition Center→Taipei Zoo 南港展覽館→動物園)
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (IATA: TPE, ICAO: RCTP) is an international airport serving the capital city of Taiwan, Taipei, and the northern parts of the country. Located about 40 km west of Taipei in Dayuan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, the airport is Taiwan's largest airport. It is one of five Taiwanese airports with regular international flights, and is by far the busiest international air entry point amongst them. It is the main international hub for China Airlines and EVA Air. The airport opened for commercial operations in 1979 and is an important regional trans-shipment center, passenger hub, and gateway for destinations in China and the rest of Asia. The airport was formerly known as Chiang Kai-shek International Airport (CKS International Airport) until the name was changed on 6 September 2006 to its current name. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is one of two airports that serves Taipei and northern Taiwan; the other, Taipei Songshan Airport, is located within Taipei City limits and served Taipei as its international airport until 1979. Songshan now mainly serves chartered flights, most of which are to and from mainland China (see cross-strait charter), domestic flights, and some international flights. Taiwan Taoyuan handled a total of 35,804,465 passengers and 2,088,726,700 kg of freight in 2014. In 2014, the airport was the 11th busiest airport worldwide in terms of international passengers number and 5th busiest in terms of international freight traffic.

Soon I will documenting the 8ghz-300ghz range along with frequency location, satellite pinpointing, and sonar waves to cover a broad range and sue the companies operating the satellite directing energy towards myself.

Taipei is the capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Situated at the northern tip of Taiwan, Taipei is located on the Tamsui River; it is about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of Keelung, a port city on the Pacific Ocean. It lies in the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed bounded by the two relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border .
The most important places to visit in Taipei are: Yamingshan National Park, Beitou Hot Springs, Building Chiang Kai-shek Memorial, Martyr Shrine, National Palace Museum, Longshan temple, Taipei 101 tower and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Taipei travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

What will you do in Taipei?

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je urges central government to write drone laws after Taipei 101 crash
The popularity of drones is leading to some security concerns. Previously a drone crashed at Taipei’s Songshan Airport and recently footage was posted online of a drone hitting Taipei 101. Fortunately, no one was injured in this latest incident. Authorities are scrambling to write new laws to ensure public safety. This quadcopter approaches and strikes Taipei 101.It then falls to the ground.Liu Chia-hao Taipei 101 SpokesmanEvery day we attract a lot of tourists as well as local visitors. Probably more than 10,000 people a day visit and fortunately no one was hurt. However, to protect these people, we call upon the government authorities to formulate relevant laws as quickly as possible.Drones can be useful in carrying out search and rescue operations as well as apprehending criminals and identifying road conditions. But with a vast number of new applications and few people able to master their flight, safety concerns are emerging.Ko Wen-jeTaipei Mayor This morning we checked and found that we have no laws governing drones.

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je attends 2017 Universiade promotional event at Taipei Main Station
Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je attended an event today at Taipei Main Station to promote the 2017 Universiade. A live feed of the event was broadcast to Taiwanese athletes in Korea currently competing in the Gwangju Universiade. Cheerleaders dance onstage to generate excitement as Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je later appears at this promotional event for the 2017 Taipei Universiade. Ko Wen-jeTaipei Mayor When it comes to politics, people may have different views, but in athletics, the entire country and society can come together as one without any divisions.Yesterday, Ko inspected work on the Taoyuan Airport MRT and today he was asked about the potential relocation of Songshan Airport.Ko Wen-jeTaipei MayorFor the overall interests of Taipei, I favor relocation of Songshan Airport. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. While it may be inconvenient for a few, it would offer greater benefits to the vast majority of people. The Taoyuan Airport MRT line will provide greater convenience for international travelers, but relocation or elimination of Songshan Airport would still pose an inconvenience for people who choose direct flights into Taipei.

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je said that once the line opens and the third runway at the Taoyuan airport is completed, work to move Taipei’s city airport, known as Songshan Airport, will begin. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je and Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan were at the Taipei station of the airport MRT line and listened to a briefing on the project. The Taipei station will be the line’s major hub, with connections to the high-speed rail, regular rail lines, the Taipei MRT and long-distance buses.

Taoyuan International Airport
Taoyuan International Airport
