An industrial robot is defined by ISO as an automatically controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose manipulator programmable in three or more axes. The field of robotics may be more practically defined as the study, design and use of robot systems for manufacturing (a top-level definition relying on the prior definition of robot).
Typical applications of robots include welding, painting, assembly, pick and place (such as packaging, palletizing and SMT), product inspection, and testing; all accomplished with high endurance, speed, and precision.
The most commonly used robot configurations are articulated robots, SCARA robots, Delta robots and Cartesian coordinate robots, (aka gantry robots or x-y-z robots). In the context of general robotics, most types of robots would fall into the category of robotic arms (inherent in the use of the word manipulator in the above-mentioned ISO standard). Robots exhibit varying degrees of autonomy:

Introducing the smallest and most accurate six-axis robot arm
Meca500 is our first six-axis robot, and it has a payload of 500 g. It is by far the most compact and accurate robot arm. This miniature collaborative robot is perfect for research and education, but it can also be used in various industrial applications where size matters.
Meca500's controller is embedded in its base. This desktop robot can be easily interfaced through an Ethernet connection and used with ROS. It can even be controlled from Simulink via the EtherCAT protocol.

The industrial robot is officially defined by the ISO as an automatic control, reprogrammable, multipurpose manipulator programmable in three or more axes. Typical applications include robots for welding of painting and assembly. Industrial robotics inspects products, quickly and accurately. Industrial robots are widely used in automotive.
An industrial robot is a polyariticulé system to the image of a human arm often consists of 6 degrees of freedom, three axes for positioning and 3-axis direction for moving and guiding a tool in a given workspace. A robot consists of a mechanical part, the arm itself, a control unit composed of a central unit which controls the electronic control of one or more axes which ensures the servo, inverters speed and a specialized programming language that allows to control the robot that incorporates a coordinate transformer to transform a Cartesian value motor encoder data.
Some robots have a learning mode that lets repeat the movements made freely by hand, the essential element is the fidelity the ability of the robot to successively reach the same position within a defined tolerance, a calibration procedure allows resume zero each axis. For security reasons, these robots are protected by cages or covers to prevent the man to approach them too closely. Dissemination and improved robotic techniques can operate factories in the dark.
Called Cartesian robot, having joints type prismatic for the movement of the tool, but necessarily three revolute for orientation thereof. Called polar robot robots who only type of joint rotoïde. To move and direct the effector in all directions in 3D, such a robot needs 6 axes: 3 for moving, 3 for orientation. In a 2-dimensional environment need 3 axes: one for movement, 2 for guidance. The installation or programming of movements and sequences of an industrial robot is generally done by linking the robot to a laptop or a desktop computer.
FANUC, the Japanese manufacturer of robots, has maintained a policy of factories in the dark since 2001. According to the vice president, robots build other robots at a rate of 50 per 24 hours and can continue unattended to 30 days. Not only is it a factory in the dark, but we turned off the air conditioning and heating.
An industrial robot is a type of robot used in industrial production, to make it more rapid and quality. In addition is a manipulator automatically controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose, programmable in three or more axes, fixed in place or mobile, is used in industrial automation applications.
The appearance of the first industrial robot is carried around the seventies. Are structures of steel with motors hydraulic slow and imprecise, at this time the market is dominated by the US. The degrees of freedom and the load capacity of these first robot are limited, the first industrial applications are in the field of automobile, in fact the robots are equipped with pliers of welding for welding and assembling the bodies of the cars. The first example of massive use in Italy is Fiat, where several robots are used for the welding on cars with Robogate, Italian invention adopted, following, by all car manufacturers. The robots generally in these machines perform the work basting of the body, then the body goes out from the system and is welded by other robots that carry out the completion of the weld.
Another vehicle application is related to the painting operations that, at least for many special happens thanks to the use of automated arms.
The robot, in recent years, have evolved and have become anthropomorphic, increasing more and more degrees of freedom, the precision, the speed and the load capacity. Now robots perform in industrial processes as accurate drilling, grinding, milling, painting, enamelling and cuts with laser and vision systems are equipped with very accurate. Currently the robots in the automotive field, are used for welding systems with laser and aesthetic laser with one or more sources, this technology allows to reduce time and space and increase the quality of the body. Industrial robots are used extensively in industry for palletizing and storage, especially in areas of difficult labor, thus safeguarding the health of workers. In Italy there is currently one of the largest companies in the world of industrial robotics.

Yaskawa Electric Corporation will continue to transmitting "manufacturing spirit" inherited unbroken in this Corporation to the world at the juncture of its 100th anniversary. "YASKAWA BUSHIDO PROJECT" is the project representing Machii's swordplay exactly the same by using "MOTOMAN-MH24", he retains many world record like "Cutting BB Gun 6mm pellet" and his play is also said God's miracle, while challenging to the performance limits of the industrial robot that integrate the "agility", "accuracy", "flexibility" to high-dimension.
