In the huge Plaza dela Revolucion, the monumental statue of the hot tempered but ardent commander can be seen from far away. The relief of the pedestal depicts the episodes of Che's life. Across the square, a museum commemorates his life of 39 years. In 1998, Pope John Paul II held mass here with a crowd of worshipers. Live fast, dangerously and die early. This may be the watchword of every true revolutionary but Ernesto che Guevara lived it. He was born in 1928 in Argentina and was executed in 1967 in Bolivia.
