Long Beach Airport (IATA: LGB, ICAO: KLGB, FAA LID: LGB), also known as Daugherty Field, is a city-owned public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of the City of Long Beach, in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It serves Los Angeles and Orange Counties. It was formerly known as Long Beach Municipal Airport.
This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport. As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 1,413,251 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 1,401,903 enplanements in 2009, and 1,451,404 in 2010.
Long Beach Airport has very little passenger service compared with the dominant Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) approximately 18 miles (29 km) to the northwest, and will always remain a relatively small airport because of restrictive ordinances adopted to minimize noise in the residential neighborhoods near LGB. The airport is under one of the strictest ordinances in the United States on both airport noise and the number of commercial flights. The current noise levels allow for 41 daily commercial flights and 25 commuter flights. Local community groups and activists are very vocal about any changes at the airport.
I cover myself in water
the pearls are good for me
staying resting on the seaside, resting
the air is good to breathe
clear sky, clear from trouble
this day's meant for me
this day's mine without worries
four o'clock in the morning, walking
singing songs meant just for me
and the full moon lights the night
pale jungle comes to life
by the shooting star I wish
this to last forever on
at a shooting star I wish
this to last forever on
hey sister, won't you count on me
I will never leave until the day I do
hey sister, won't you come with me
there's so much to see, I'll show you all
in the morning breeze, still walking
here's another day
in the boiling midday sun
I hide in the shades to get some rest
and the taste of you and vodka
still here since yesterday
human salt, seasalt in good mixture
making out, making love tonight
four o'clock in the morning, walking
singing songs meant just for you
and the full moon lights the night
your pale eyes comes to life
by the shooting star we wish
this to last forever on
at a shooting star we wish
this to last forever on
hey sister, won't you count on me
I will never leave until the day I do
hey sister, won't you come with me
there's so much to see, I'll show you all
hey sister, won't you come with me
I will never leave until the day I do
hey sister, won't you count on me
I will never leave until the day I
Long Beach, California
Is where I held your hand
Down on Ocean Boulevard
That's where we made the plan
In Long Beach, California
We sat on the pier
That's where I told you everything
And I wiped your tears
But an earthquake
Made my heart break
Now it's too late
It's all gone, it's all gone, it's all gone
Long Beach, California
There's so much to see
But it can't be lonely there
It was lonely for me
For you brought all the sunshine
And you cleared up the skies
You were what I was waiting for
All of my life
But an earthquake
Made my heart break
Now it's too late
It's all gone, it's all gone, it's all gone
Oh, I should've been leaving this place
I should've been leaving the interstate
I should've been leaving this place
I should've been, I should've been
But an earthquake
Made my heart break
Now it's too late
It's all gone, it's all gone, it's all gone
Oh, what I cannot do
I still love you
And I will miss you
So, so long, so, so long, so, so long
Long Beach, California
Is where I held your hand
Down on Ocean Boulevard
