ALBANY - Weddings aren't often held at a hospital. But staff at Albany Medical Center helped a 4-year-old girl to marry the man of her dreams. Lori Ciafardoni shared this video on our Facebook page Thursday. Abby is battling leukemia. Abby's mom says her little girl was looking forward to one day marrying her favorite nurse, Matt Hickling. So the staff at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers threw them a proper wedding. The event was complete with a rose petal aisle and nurses as bridesmaids. Abby's prince charming got dressed up in a tuxedo T-shirt and scrubs. Both got to share a cake and a ring pop. Abby says it was the "best day ever."

WATCH: Paralyzed Texas girl shocks nurse by walking again It was a reaction fitting for a miracle. A 17-year-old girl from Texas who had been paralyzed for 11 days shocked her nurses when she stood up out of her wheelchair by herself. The powerful scene as one of the nurses hugged her in sheer joy after delivering a shocked reaction was captured in a viral online video. Bailey Murrill, of Denton Tex., was horse playing with her dad at her home when she landed awkwardly on her back and lost feeling in her legs below her hips. She then spent the next 11 days at the Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas but doctors had no idea what was the cause of her ailment, she told the Daily News. But through the whole ordeal Murrill said she kept her faith in God. “The whole time I had this attitude I would leave it in his hands and be prepared for what he decided” she said. Murril had also bonded with the nurse in the video, whom she declined to identify, over their faiths. Then on April 11, Bailey was undergoing physical therapy and was placed in a machine when she felt a sensation in her legs. She notified her physical therapist who told her that her hamstring was flexing. “We waited it out and the same way the feeling left my legs it returned,” she said. Bailey was excited and wanted to come up with a fun way to tell her favorite nurse. “She had brought me so much joy at a time I needed it that I decided to bring her some,” she said. The video begins with Bailey rolling up to a group of nurses in a wheelchair and a nurse approaches her with open arms saying she heard Bailey was looking for her. She had just been stuck in an elevator for an hour but that was nothing compared to what was about to happen to her. The nurse let out a giant scream as Bailey silently stood and shocked the medical professional. The two immediately embrace in a long hug as the nurse cries out "Thank you Lord! Thank you Lord!" Tears began to flow from everyone in the hallway as the nurse tells Bailey she had been praying for her. "I'm so happy for you. I'm sooo happy for you," the nurse told her patient. "See there, I told you. Just keep the faith." Bailey was released from the hospital on April 14 and the doctors have yet to determine the cause of her condition. She has kept going back as they are eliminating various potential causes, she said.

4 year old cancer patient ‘marries’ nurse at Albany Med A 4-year-old little girl who’s battling cancer got to “marry” the man of her dreams. The knight in shining armor who stole her heart wears hospital scrubs. He is the nurse who has cared for her in the past year. Video of the heart melting event has gone viral and really shows how much it has all meant to the little girl at the center of it all. Abby Sayles has been receiving life-saving treatment for Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers at Albany Medical Center. It was there that a bond grew between her and her nurse Matt Hickling. So how does Abby feel about being married? “Good,” she said. “It’s my first time being married.” The hospital staff wasted no time after Abby popped the question. A coworker lent Hickling a tuxedo t-shirt, staff bought a few bouquets, and they laid down an aisle of rose petals. There wasn’t any organ music, so they improvised by humming ‘Here Comes the Bride.’ “It means the world [to me],” Abby’s mom Renee Sayles said. “Just a great moment to share with this family and everyone and what they go through day to day and to have her remember something like this,” Hickling said. “She can look back on it when she’s older and be really just touched by it.” Renee said Abby has had a few setbacks, but her prognosis is good. She hopes Abby will one day look back at her time at the hospital as pleasant.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday saying goodbye to January 2015. Thomas left on Friday to go with the Highschool Jazz band to Berklee College in Boston to compete. Out of 16 highschools from across the country they came in fourth!!! Amazing really. I have an 8th grader who gets to do such great things. So Saturday it was just Daniel, John and I. It's too cold to bring Daniel outside, so he stayed home with our Saturday nurse, Dave. John and I went on nice lunch date to a favorite local restaurant and ran errands. I've been edgy because of the cold and snow, it makes me feel trapped. But in many ways I lead a secluded life from a human perspective, so if I lose myself in a book or the computer, I can cope. I am competely blessed to currently have the nurses we do. Dave was here yesterday, today is Ian. But although it lessens the physical work, it does not lessen the battles with equipment suppliers, rescheduling doctors appointments, setting up therapy appointments, assessing all of Daniels needs from A to Z. Sometimes I feel very much alone. Being a special needs mother has always been the epitomy of miracles and love, and the hardest thing I will ever do in my life, at the same time. I am hoping to find other You Tubers who can related to the emotions you have when a child is 100% dependent on you for life, for the rest of their life. or yours. I just don't feel like too many people get that. But... yes.... a lunch date was nice. Now I just want to be alone and do my own thing, like sleep because I'm tired. you know?? My middle son, Daniel John Hasselberger was born on November 22, 1997, with a rare brain deformity called Polymicrogyria. The deformity happened due to a virus c*alled CMV, or cytomegalovirus. He has seizures, respiratory problems, can only eat by g tube, is in a wheelchair, can not speak, and has had countless surgeries and hospitalizations over his 17 years. We are a family of 5 from Sandy Hook, CT and this is our journey. Every day is full of new things that we don’t expect. I am Julie, Daniel’s Mom. I left my full time career as an HR Director 11 years ago because Daniel needed me. The struggle, the sacrifices, the sibling love, and miracle after miracle. Why did I create this channel? In this episode, our disheveled band of survivors fights off massive hordes while attempting to seal off the carpark ramps. G4K blocks off the ramps with his backpacks upon death while Aendams builds new stairs for the zeds. Midnight enjoys his time off away from the group hanging out with the local Nurses, while I attempt to make as much noise as possible to scare away the zombies - which has some serious adverse effects. Rongo Boldly tries to save me from dogs by pretending to be a chew-toy, which seems to work much better, though perhaps not for him. While we establish a base on the second floor of the structure, the remaining population of the city settles for the ground floor where they hold a rave party. Since the electricity is out in the city, I take pity upon the poor zeds and provide them the loud noises and flashing lights they need to party properly. The word seems to get out quick, and while its all fun and games at first, as expected someone calls the cops and then there is a new game - hide and seek. Apparently the officers have been hitting the booze, as their stomach issues are quite face-melting and explosive. After a long night of crazy partying, the zeds are clearly hung over and are unable to run and refuse to participate in the clean-up operation...
