The city is the largest economic center of the 12-county Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area (the DFW MSA) that according to the March 2010 U.S. Census Bureau release, had a population of 6,371,773. The metroplex economy is the sixth largest in the United States, with a 2010 gross metropolitan product of $374 billion.
Dallas was founded in 1841 and was formally incorporated as a city in February 1856. The city's economy is primarily based on banking, commerce, telecommunications, computer technology, energy, healthcare and medical research, transportation and logistics. The city is home to the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the nation. Located in North Texas and a major city in the American South, Dallas is the main core of the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States that lacks any navigable link to the sea.

AFTERMATH @DALLAS ESCADA MISSION IMPOSSIBLE BALL 2013 PART 3 ICON JACK MIZRAHI
The assassination and the subsequent conspiracy theories surrounding his death have been the topic for many films, including:
the 1966 Emile de Antonio documentary Rush to Judgment, based on Mark Lane's book;
David Miller's 1973 Executive Action;
Nigel Turner's 1988, 1991, 1995 and 2003 continuing documentary The Men Who Killed Kennedy.
Oliver Stone's 1991 JFK,[1] based in part upon the book On the Trail of the Assassins by former Orleans Parish (Louisiana) District Attorney Jim Garrison.
In 1975, a San Francisco-based group of artists called Ant Farm reenacted the Kennedy assassination in Dealey Plaza, and documented it in a video called The Eternal Frame. Two years later, the assassination was re-enacted again as part of the ABC television movie The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald, looking at what might have happened had Jack Ruby not prevented Oswald from going to court. The 1983 NBC TV mini series Kennedy showed the assassination from Jackie Kennedy's perspective.
Andy Warhol's 1966 film Since recreated the assassination from multiple perspectives with participants from The Factory.[2] Since is heavily improvised and explores the media portrayal of the assassination.
The 1967 satirical play MacBird! by Barbara Garson superimposes the events of the assassination on the general plot structure of Shakespeare's Macbeth, with Kennedy becoming murdered king "Ken O'Dunc" and Lyndon Johnson the treacherous title character. The mockery of the play's name is derived from Johnson's propensity to refer to his wife Claudia as "Lady Bird" and his elder daughter as "Lynda Bird." Garson insisted that her play was a satire and not intended to suggest seriously that Johnson had had a hand in the assassination.[3]
In the 1992 drama film Love Field, Lurene Hallett, a Dallas hairdresser, attempts to travel to Washington to attend John F. Kennedy's funeral. Though the movie encompasses other issues besides the assassination, it portrays one facet of the public reaction to the event.[4]
The JFK assassination was featured in the 1993 thriller film In the Line of Fire, starring Clint Eastwood. Set in present day, the film is about a psychopath who plans to assassinate the current President of the United States. Eastwood's character is Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan, the last remaining active agent who was on duty in November 1963, guarding Kennedy in Dallas. Horrigan is consumed with guilt over his failure to react quickly enough to the first shot in Dallas.
The film Watchmen, based on the graphic novel, portrays The Comedian, one of the members of the Watchmen, as Kennedy's assassin; he's shown firing the fatal headshot from the grassy knoll.
The X-Files episode "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man" (1996) places a young cigarette smoking man as the assassin, shooting from a sewer drain located near the grassy knoll after setting up Oswald as his patsy.
The Doctor Who spin-off novel Who Killed Kennedy features the Doctor's enemy the Master attempting to kill Oswald before the assassination as Kennedy's survival would trigger a chain reaction in history that could wipe the Doctor from existence, requiring journalist James Stevens to go back in time and kill Kennedy himself (Acting as both gunmen at different points in his life as Oswald's rifle had a misaligned targeting scope).
JFK’s assassination was featured in an episode of Mad Men, from season three in 2009 titled “The Grownups." The episode focused on the characters reaction to JFK’s assassination and the subsequent events in their personal lives.
In the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, during the sections of the film set in 1973, it is revealed that Magneto has been in prison since 1963 for his apparent role in the assassination, with evidence suggesting that he made the bullet curve to hit Kennedy, although Magneto himself states that he was actually trying to save Kennedy's life, claiming that he was a mutant, and the police who arrested Magneto disrupted his concentration by causing the bullet to hit Kennedy despite his own efforts to stop it. Charles Xavier held Kennedy's assassination against Magneto due to a similar incident shown in the film X-Men: First Class in which he caused a bullet to curve and hit Xavier's spine, costing him his ability to walk, although it should be noted that Magneto was only attempting to deflect the bullet and Xavier's injury was an accident.

In a super casual, affordable, and friendly atmosphere, they serve the best sandwiches and pastries. The ambience is a strip mall, café-like setting with garish lime-green paint on the walls and a walk-up counter. This isn't a place you would go for first date or celebratory dinner. But definitely a must if you just want a delicious Latin sandwich!

For many people, the very name of Dallas is synonymous with retail therapy. The city's motto, after all, is 'if it can't be found in Dallas, it can't be found anywhere'. This is where Neiman Marcus, 1618 Main Street, began its fashion business in 1907, as an 'exclusive woman's ready-to-wear store'. Today, all manner of big names have gravitated around it, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co and Christian Dior. The huge department store chain JC Penney also

If you are up for exploring Dallas, here are a few tips. Like most of Texas, Dallas is mostly a driver's city, but there are a few more options in certain districts. If you're visiting sites in the West end, you can take the trolley and learn about the city from your tour guide. You can also use the local bus system or the light rail called DART. Both run through Downtown and surrounding districts. If you do have access to a car, you'd be best off driving to an area and wa

From Northpark Center, one of the very first malls in America, to shiny and new Stonebriar Center Mall, as well as tourist favorite Galleria Dallas, you'll find precisely what you're searching for. Anchor stores like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom are easy to find, and smaller boutiques, such as Hanna Anderson and Vera Bradley don't disappoint. Dallas is a young city with all the vigour of youth. Effigies of modern architecture rise like glass trees out of the downtown area. In 1841, it was simply a plan of 20 streets on the 256 hectares (640 acres) of south central America, claimed by a Tennessee lawyer, John Neely Bryan. Today, it is the ninth largest city in the USA, and including its western neighbour of Fort Worth, it is the nation's fastest growing metropolitan area.
Thriving at the bottom edge of America's Great Plains, Dallas has embraced dreamers and entrepreneurs for the better part of two centuries. Big D, as it's affectionately called, merges Southern hospitality with modern sophistication. Though the landscape looks different than at its humble beginning, the city still welcomes enterprising people who gather to share their grand ideas and stake claims on new frontiers.
Dallas will always be remembered for one, if not two, shootings. The first and most shocking occurred on 22 November 1963, when President J F Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas. The second shooting may only have been fictional but, when J R Ewing was shot by an unknown killer in the TV series Dallas in the early 1980s, fans across the world were devastated. Even today, the legend of J R remains strong, as does the legacy of President Kennedy.
Today the city is a mecca for the banking, electronics and oil industries, as well as for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Large scale developments of urban lofts, apartments, condominiums, retail and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are springing up across the city. An impressive new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2009 to vie with New York's Lincoln Center. New facilities and relevant attractions in and around this cultural centre continue to grow.
Among things you probably didn't know about Dallas: The city has the largest urban arts district in the United States spanning 19 blocks. What's more, the Dallas Arts District has more buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects in one contiguous location than anywhere else in the world. And Dallas' Fair Park, just a short distance east of the arts district and a district with numerous museums and venues, features the nation's largest collection of 1930s Art Deco, exposition-style architecture.
Dallas offers true Southern hospitality, be it in a humble hideaway cocktail bar or in the Mansion on Turtle Creek, repeatedly and regularly ranked as one of the world's top hotels. And with a 10th of its workforce in the hospitality industry, Dallas is always happy to have y'all come on in and stick around awhile.
Those wishing to explore further afield should take the busy freeway 30 miles to the west to the easy-going, cattle-driving, twin city of Fort Worth, home to a national historic district and a surprising stash of world-class art museums.
The similarities between the two include a stunning rate of business and population growth, in spite of a sluggish recent economy; a shared passion for the pro sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, whose new billion-dollar stadium is now in Tarrant County instead of Dallas; and a great pride in being Texan.

The restaurants below have been grouped into three different price categories:
Expensive (over US$50)
Moderate (US$30 to US$50)
Cheap (up to US$30)
These prices are for dinner for two people, excluding tax, alcohol or tips. In general, there is a sales tax of 8.25% added to restaurant bills. However, in reality, this tax varies and some restaurants only add the tax to either food or drink. Tipping of between 15 and 20% is expected and in some restaurants this may be added to the bill.

The deft touch of executive chef Kent Rathbun and his stunning wine list has earned glorious praise from the national press, thanks to such pleasures as lager-braised veal breast with English pea pierogi; grilled duck with leg confit and black pepper-ricotta cavatelli; and fascinating sushi rolls, such as the Picasso, combining spicy tuna, roasted pineapple, avocado and salmon. For an extra treat, guests should try the chef's selection of five or eight small courses, with wine pairings, and luxuriate in the palate pampering and the soothing, sumptuous interiors.

Widely known as one of the architects of Southwestern cuisine, Pyles, the much-loved native of West Texas and noted world traveller, has earned innumerable accolades from international publications for his namesake restaurant. His 'New Millennium Southwestern cuisine' features as a tasting of exotic ceviches (try ahi tuna with watermelon and pepitas), duck confit empanadas, wood-fired whole fish, and coriander-cured rack of lamb. Special drinks include Pisco Sour and smoky-apple Martini. A lovely update of a 1960s office building provides a warm, inviting setting in which to feast. Bring someone special with you.
Address: 1807 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas, United States
Fearing's
Price: Expensive
Rating: 5
Cuisine: American with Southern/Southwestern influences
After making the Mansion on Turtle Creek the leading dining destination in Texas for two decades, star chef Dean Fearing opened a place of his own at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton. In each of seven distinct settings under one roof, the popular southerner does much to please his ever-ardent fans, with maple-black peppercorn buffalo tenderloin, pecan-crusted halibut, crab tacos and -- at brunch -- stunningly good fried chicken. Drinks in his Rattlesnake Bar include El Diablo, a mixture of Patron Silver Tequila, blackcurrant liqueur, fresh lime juice and ginger ale.
Address: 2121 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, Texas, United States
Fireside Pies
Price: Moderate
Rating: 3
Cuisine: Italian
Certainly not the usual pizza joint, this is where you'll find spectacular pizzas. Inside a handsome, casual stone-and-wood building, you'll find a hip crowd hanging out over starters, wine and pies. Pizzas are baked in a wood-burning oven, topped with a fire-roasted tomato sauce, liberally garnished with four kinds of cheese, then decorated with such add-ons as meatballs, proscuitto, balsamic-roasted chicken, truffle oil or rocket salad. When in doubt, just order the 13th Pie, an ever-changing delight. Weather permitting, patio seating is divine.
Address: 2820 North Henderson Avenue, Dallas, Texas, United States
Primo's Bar & Grille
Price: Moderate
Rating: 3
Cuisine: Mexican
A long-time hangout in Uptown, this wonderful spot only gets better with age. The Sunday brunch is hugely satisfying, but any day of the week is perfect for top-rate margaritas and a plate of the delicious tacos camperos filled with beef fajita meat. Pile on jalapeno, cilantro , a slice of avocado and a spoonful of the tomato salsa on the table. It's a good spot to take a break from shopping and gallery-browsing; relax on the patio or in one of the rooms inside the hundred-year-old building with creaky wooden floors.

Restaurants in Dallas - Texas - United States

Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ
The irresistible appeal of Dallas' dining is its blend of cuisine influenced by the American South and Mexico, as well as its cattle and ranching heritage. Dallas is noted for inventing Tex-Mex plate and the world's first frozen margarita in 1971. Food became more sophisticated over time, with southwestern cuisine emerging in the 1980s, by pairing Latin and Native American cuisine with classic culinary techniques.
Abacus
Price: Expensive
Rating: 4
Cuisine: Asian-influenced American cuisine
The deft touch of executive chef Kent Rathbun and his stunning wine list has earned glorious praise from the national press, thanks to such pleasures as lager-braised veal breast with English pea pierogi; grilled duck with leg confit and black pepper-ricotta cavatelli; and fascinating sushi rolls, such as the Picasso, combining spicy tuna, roasted pineapple, avocado and salmon. For an extra treat, guests should try the chef's selection of five or eight small courses, with wine pairings, and luxuriate in the palate pampering and the soothing, sumptuous interiors.

Welcome to Houston, Texas, one of the largest cities in the United States.
Once an outpost in the Old West, Houston is now a down-to-earth metropolis, boasting a tremendous shipping and energy industry, as well as plenty of culture.
Kick off your Houston tour at Discovery Green, a 12-acre park tucked beneath the city’s skyscrapers. You’ll find public art and plenty of space to picnic or go for walks. Houstoners take pride in their various parks, museums, and open spaces, like the Houston Arboretum, where you can go birdwatching, learn about green living, and hike the trails to explore local wildlife.
Speaking of exploring, your Houston sightseeing should include a trip to the USS Texas., This battleship served in two World Wars and now stands guard as a museum on the Buffalo Bayou. Head over to the Gulf for a walk on the beach while you watch the sunset, then get ready to gear up for the evening with some delicious TexMex shared with the locals. After you lose yourself in a few rounds of line dancing to burn off all those fajitas, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t come to Houston earlier.

Food Delights in Dallas, Texas (USA) – Escapade at Latin Deli – A Hidden Gem - Food & Travel Guide
If you're tired of the same old fast food and want something different, then head over to Latin Deli. It is one of the hidden gems in Dallas!
Some of their must-haves include their Loma Saltado, Tres Leches Cupcake, Carrot Cake, Choco Flan, Red Velvet Cup Cake, Sweet Corn Muffins. As beautiful and delicious as their sandwiches are, they are still true to a simple plate of Chilaquiles.
Latin Deli hits three essential targets: Good, Fast and Cheap. It is a great place for brunch on the weekend. It's like waking up for breakfast at your mom's house. All-around, a delicious, affordable meal!
If you are in Dallas, Texas (USA) - do stop by and check them out! Meanwhile watch Pia and Anita's grub escapade as they experience the simple motto of Latin Deli - Eat, Laugh, Live!

Shopping in Dallas - Texas - United States

Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ
For many people, the very name of Dallas is synonymous with retail therapy. The city's motto, after all, is 'if it can't be found in Dallas, it can't be found anywhere'. This is where Neiman Marcus, 1618 Main Street, began its fashion business in 1907, as an 'exclusive woman's ready-to-wear store'. Today, all manner of big names have gravitated around it, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co and Christian Dior. The huge department store chain JC Penney also originated in Dallas.
Key areas:
The majority of fine shopping in Dallas is found just north of downtown in the Uptown district and in Highland Park and University Park. Interesting, more bohemian shops tend to be found in Deep Ellum, immediately east of downtown, and on Lower Greenville, which reaches just northeast of downtown. Great clusters of shopping areas are also found in suburban Dallas areas, all north of I-635, such as Plano, Frisco and McKinney.
Markets:
There is a large Farmer's Market, on the western end of Downtown, at South Harwood Street and Marilla Street.
Shopping centres:
The most upmarket is Highland Park Village, a National Historic landmark and one of the first American shopping centers, opened in 1931. Look here for such shops as Chanel, Jimmy Choo, Jermes, Harry Winston and dozens of other fashion names, as well as homegrown retailers like Calame Jewelers and Cooter's Village Camera.
Galleria Dallas, 13350 Dallas Parkway, is a revered name in Texas shopping. Stores here include BCBG, Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop and Old Navy, Tiffany & Co., American Girl, Nordstrom, Sak's Fifth Avenue and Macy's. There's an ice-skating ring with spectacular shows during the winter holidays, plus cinemas and restaurants.
NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expressway, is compared with Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive, but all-enclosed. Finer shopping abounds, with Neiman Marcus and boutiques from top-rate designers like CH Carolina Herrera, Herve Leger, Versace, and Salvatore Ferragamo, to name a few.
Opening hours:
Almost all retail stores are open daily, 1000-2100.
Souvenirs:
The best places to buy Texas souvenirs, such as western hats and boots and jewellery, are western-wear stores. These include Cowboy Cool, 3699 McKinney Avenue, a favorite boutique in the West Village, in the Uptown district; and Pink's Western Wear, 2475 N. Stemmons Freewaym, in the Medical District, northwest of downtown.
Tax information:
Sales tax is 8.25%.

If you do have access to a car, you'd be best off driving to an area and walking to save time. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. With all the hot spots in Dallas, be sure to get reservations or arrive early as some places book up or sell out.

Hotels in Dallas - Texas - United States

Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ
Dallas Hotels
Dallas' hotel landscape matches that of its shopping and dining attractions -- choices are numerous in every category, from luxurious and expensive to humble and inexpensive. Keep in mind, however, that the majority of finer choices tend to be in downtown and the surrounding areas, whereas the less costly places may not be as close to the most popular attractions and restaurants. You pay, of course, for convenience.
The Dallas hotels below are grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over US $250)
Moderate (US $130 to $250)
Cheap (up to US$130)
These Dallas hotel prices are the starting prices for a standard double room and include taxes unless otherwise specified. Breakfast may be included; investigate at time of booking.
W Dallas - Victory Hotel
Within walking distance from the Dallas Arts District, the trendy W Hotel remains edgy and relevant, thanks to a recent, multi-million-dollar renovation. Overlooking the sports venue of Victory Plaza and breathtaking night views of downtown Dallas, the hotel offers 252 oversized rooms and suites in categories named Wonderful, Cool Corner, Spectacular, Fabulous, Mega, Fantastic, Marvelous, Wow and Extreme Wow. Inside the W's Bliss spa, the Exotic Lime and Ginger Salt Glow body treatment is transcendental. Dinner in the gastropub called Cook Hall is casual yet very special.
Hotel ZaZa
This mind-boggling lodging in Uptown seems drawn from a Hollywood movie set. Lavish furnishings, Frette linens, cutting-edge technology, rainforest showers in luxurious bathrooms and high ceilings make the large 146 guest rooms and suites feel like private apartments within the South-of-France-style building. Meeting spaces accommodate up to 300. The on-site Dragonfly restaurant has won numerous awards for inspired contemporary cuisine and throngs of fans for its chic bar scene.
The Joule, Dallas
Downtown's most elegant boutique hotel sits within a lavishly renovated 1920s neo-Gothic building. An added 10-storey tower and contemporary lobby showcase stunning art and design structures highlighting the oil and gas theme appropriate to the 'Big D' (Dallas). The Joule's cantilevered pool extends 5ft off the edge of the building, and is even open free in the summer to non-guests from 0500 to noon. Rooms and suites have sleek, inventive décor, and the Fitness Center is state-of-the-art. Don't miss the hotel's restaurant and wine room, run by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer.

Hi GlamAholic's! I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Dallas, TX for a cupcakes and cocktails event hosted by treasure chest virgin hair. It was my first time ever going to the state of Texas in my whole life. While I was there I meet up with Raven Elyse and AshleyDBeauty and we had a sleepover. Dealey Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum
The Texas School Book Depository was a rather ordinary building in downtown Dallas until the infamous assassination of US President John F Kennedy on 22 November 1963 as he travelled in an open limousine through Dallas on a pre-election visit.
Lee Harvey Oswald, the 24-year-old local who was accused of the crime, had a filing job at the depository. The deadly shot was fired from the sixth floor of the building, which is now the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza documenting both the assassination itself and the life and times of JFK. This includes a minute-by-minute account of the action, the investigations and the various assassination theories that followed. The Plaza itself is simply an outdoor grassy area on the north side of Elm Street, where curiosity seekers gather at all hours of day and night.

Among myriad programming interests are Arts &Letters; Live, lectures, gallery talks and tours, concerts and performances and classes. The museum shop is worth a visit for unusual gifts and souvenirs.

Opened in 2012, this nonprofit educational organisation in the Dallas Arts District thrills children, students, teachers and families with stunning exhibits in a 180,000sq ft museum with five floors of public spaces and 11 exhibit halls. There is a complete children's museum within, which includes an outdoor play area. Extraordinary elements include a vast, glassed-in lobby and adjacent rooftop deck; a 298-seat theater with numerous projection capabilities; and a lovely café. The building itself is jaw-dropping, thanks to the work by 2005 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Thom Mayne of the firm Morphosis. Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ
Public transport:
Public transport buses and trains are operated by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) authority. The urban light railway and the commuter line, which are separate lines in the south and north, combine to form a single route in the downtown area. The system operates 0400-2400.
Bus tickets must be purchased with exact change in cash. Alternatively, prepaid tickets and day passes can be purchased from vending machines at the station. Day passes may be purchased in advance.
DART has joined forces with the volunteer-run McKinney Avenue Transit Authority to operate the historic M-Line Streetcar, providing free, daily transit service in downtown and to connect downtown with the uptown neighbourhood. Schedules and detailed route information are available.
Taxis:
Taxis operate 24 hours. Recommended are Checker Cab and Yellow Cab, both at the same depot, and Terminal Cab. A tip of 10% is expected.
Driving:
Driving in downtown Dallas at the weekends is feasible for the visitor, since the streets are relatively quiet. Morning and evening rush hour in the week is just the opposite and very frustrating.
Downtown Dallas is essentially on a north-south grid layout, although north of Pacific Avenue, the grid is skewed slightly and angled more on a northwest-southeast axis.
The most frequently used toll road in Dallas among visitors is the North Tollway, which goes from Downtown up into Collin County. Toll stations no longer exist; you will be invoiced for tolls you are owed (these will be charged to you by your car rental company).
There are meters and parking lots all over Downtown, which can be expensive, except at weekends. Visitors should read meters carefully as timings will be enforced.
Bicycle hire:
Bikes are available for hire from Richardson Bike Mart's White Rock Lake location, 9040 Garland Road Riding around the lake is wonderful in good weather.

I got all four of my wisdom teeth cut out that day and I was crying because Cameron Dallas wasn't there and I was sad because he's never tweeted me. Cameron has done a great amount of amazing things for me and a lot of other fans and I have no clue how I could ever thank him. I hope someday he comes across this video and smiles because he always has someone thinking of him. I use to feel like I wasn't anyone, and that all changed when I discovered Cam. He changed me. He changed the way I viewed life and the way I look at things. Because of him i no longer doubt my beauty or anything about myself because I know that I am beautiful. Every girl

John F. Kennedy Assassination: Aftermath, Effects on America, News, Reaction (2013)
Rather reported that U.S. President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas. In his autobiography, he also claims to be one of the first to see the Zapruder film showing the assassination and the first to describe it on television. The film was never shown on television to the general public, and Rather reported the fatal headshot as forcing Kennedy's head to be thrown violently forward, when it was thrown backwards. This report is sometimes included as part of conspiracy theories which purport that the direction in which Kennedy's head moved supports one theory or another.
Later, he reported that some schoolchildren in Dallas had ap

Every girl is beautiful inside and out. Cam does a great job to make sure girls keep building there self esteem. So if you don't know who he is, look him up on YouTube: Cameron Dallas or follow his twitter and other social networks @CameronDallas Thank you guys for watching, have a blessed day!

Later, he reported that some schoolchildren in Dallas had applauded when they were notified of the president's death. Administrators said that, in fact, the thrust of the announcement was that school was to be dismissed early (making the students' delight more understandable), and did not mention the assassination. However, Joanna Morgan, a teacher at the school, confirmed that students had cheered on the news that Kennedy was shot. This story infuriated local journalists at then-CBS affiliate KRLD-TV (now Fox-owned-and-operated KDFW-TV).
Rather's reporting during the national mourning period following the Kennedy assassination and subsequent events brought him to the attention of CBS News management, which rewarded him in 1964 with the network's White House correspondent position.
After serving as a foreign correspondent for CBS in London in 1965 and Vietnam in 1966, he served his second tenure as White House correspondent during the Richard Nixon presidency. Rather was among those journalists who accompanied Nixon to China. He covered the Watergate investigation as well as the impeachment proceedings. In 1970, he drew the assignment as primary anchor for the CBS Sunday Night News.

During the early 1990s, Brinkley taught American Arts and Politics for Hofstra aboard the Majic Bus [sic], a roving transcontinental classroom, from which emerged the book, The Majic Bus: An American Odyssey (1993). In 1993, he left Hofstra to teach at the University of New Orleans, where he taught the class again using two natural-gas fueled buses. According to the Associated Press, "...if you can't tour the United States yourself, the next best thing is to go along with Douglas Brinkley aboard The Majic Bus."[5]
Brinkley worked closely with his mentor, historian Stephen E. Ambrose, then director of the Eisenhower Center for American Studies at the University of New Orleans. Ambrose chose Brinkley to become director of the Eisenhower Center, a post he held for five years before moving to Tulane University.
Brinkley’s first book was Jean Monnet: The Path to European Unity (1992). The publication of Dean Acheson: The Cold War Years (1992) brought Brinkley popular acclaim. He then co-edited a monograph series with Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. and William vanden Heuvel in the 1990s. Brinkley also edited a volume on Dean Acheson and the Making of US Foreign Policy with Paul H. Nitze (1993).
Brinkley is the literary executor for his late friend, the journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson. He is also the editor of a three-volume collection of Thompson's letters. Brinkley is also the authorized biographer for Beat generation author Jack Kerouac, having edited Kerouac's diaries as Windblown World (2004).
He has also written profiles of popular writers, Kurt Vonnegut,[6] Norman Mailer, and Ken Kesey for Rolling Stone magazine. In 2009, Brinkley interviewed Bob Dylan in Paris and Amsterdam for a Rolling Stone cover story.[7]
In 2004, Brinkley released Tour of Duty: John Kerry and the Vietnam War, about U.S. Senator John Kerry's military service and anti-war activism during the Vietnam War. The 2004 documentary movie, "Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry," is loosely based on Brinkley's book.[8] Brinkley also wrote the Atlantic Monthly cover story of December 2003 on Kerry.[9]
Brinkley's book The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast is a record of the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast. The book won the 2007 Robert F. Kennedy Book Award and was a Los Angeles Times book prize finalist. He also served as the primary historian for Spike Lee's documentary about Hurricane Katrina, When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. Critic Nancy Franklin in The New Yorker noted that Brinkley made up a "large part" of the film's "conscience."[10]
Brinkley's biography of Walter Cronkite, Cronkite was published in 2012.[11] It was also selected as a Washington Post Book of the Year.
Brinkley and Johnny Depp were nominated for a Grammy for their co-authoring of the liner notes to the documentary: Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. He also co-edited with Johnny Depp the long lost novel of Woody Guthrie titled House of Earth.

I've been told it was not a 16 alarm fire, but a 3 alarm. What is known is that it was 3 houses that burned, no one reported injured, and more emergency vehicles I've ever seen in one place.

Dallas, Texas Travel Guide - Must-See Attractions
http://bookinghunter.com
Dallas is the ninth most populous city in the United States and the third most populous city in the state of Texas. Dallas makes up one-fifth of the much larger urbanized area known as the Dallas--Fort Worth Metroplex, in which one quarter of all Texans live.
The most important places to visit in Dallas are: Southfork Ranch (it is known worldwide as the filming location for the "Dallas" series. Take a tour of America's most famous ranch), Botanical Garden (discover this wonderful garden in Dallas. The best time to visit is during Spring when thousands of flowers are blooming), Fair Park (home to museums and gardens, it is most famous for the amazing State Fair in the fall), Reunion Tower (one of the most famous landmarks of Dallas. Visitors can even dine at a restaurant at the top of the tower), Dealey Plaza (the site of John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963. It is a national historic landmark and you can see the spot where the fatal shot hit) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Dallas travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Dallas - Texas - United States Travel guide http://goo.gl/tLsKrZ

Rating: 5
Cuisine: Contemporary American & Southwestern

Houston Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

If you do have access to a car, you'd be best off driving to an area and walking to save time. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. With all the hot spots in Dallas, be sure to get reservations or arrive early as some places book up or sell out.

Cameron Dallas- Wisdom tooth aftermath
Every girl is beautiful inside and out. Cam does a great job to make sure girls keep building there self esteem. So if you don't know who he is, look him up on YouTube: Cameron Dallas or follow his twitter and other social networks @CameronDallas Thank you guys for watching, have a blessed day!
