I bought this unit as a replacement for my Sony Walkman NWZ series mp3 player. I loved my Sony, but this was the 3rd one I'd owned in about 5 yrs... they give incredible sound quality, but after a couple of years they start to get glitchy. Hence I was unwilling to pay the rather expensive asking price for another one. After reading many reviews I decided on this AGPTek player as it seemed to fit my needs, which are...

1) Good sound quality
2) Ample volume
3) Plenty of storage
4) No need to install proprietary file transfer software just to load it up with music

This unit ticks all of the above boxes. I have all my music on a micro-SD card that I ordered at the same time as I bought this player, but which arrived a few days earlier. As the unit came fully charged, all I had to do was slot the card into the side of the mp3 player & I was ready to rock. It's worth noting here that all my music is in folders & that's how I tend to navigate any mp3 player. I haven't had any of the issues people describe about tracks not playing in the correct order, but my music is numbered 01-song-title; 02-song-title; 03-song-title etc within each folder. I do notice that I am unable to browse the music on the SD card by artist, album or genre though - even though the mp3s are all tagged correctly: I'm something of a pedant about that kind of thing. I haven't tried creating playlists yet, but there is a menu option available on each track to add that particular tune to a playlist, so I'll give it a try sometime & see.

The included earphones are a bit boxy sounding, but I just use my old Sony earbuds which sound punchy, crisp & powerful. If you're thinking about buying one of these players, it may be wise to budget on e decent pair of 'phones to get the best out of it.

This is a nice MP3 Player. To begin, it is aesthetically pleasing. Although it is sleigh lightly small, you can read the screen fine. The process by which the songs were put on, couldn't have been easier. The computer picked it up immediately. Also, the memory us great and it seems to be able to hold quite a lot of songs. I am very happy with using it. The buttons and instructions are very clear and the volume is acceptable too. I appreciate it. And with its own earphones, adding to its stylish flare and design. It's good value and a good price. In the future, I will definitely buy another.

Very pleased with this MP3 Player, I have put a 64gb SanDisk Micro SD Card , easy to load files works with WinAmp, a single charge has lasted for over 70 hrs, don't let the lightness put you off. I purchased it to replace my SanDisk View that developed the Blue Circle of Death, I have always had MP3 players from SanDisk but this one has converted me. Also if anyone is looking for a case I got one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Durable-Tough-hard-Fabric-MP3-Player-cover-Clamshell-Case-Earphone-Case-Holder-/111641577948 ideal to store your AGPTek and earphones..

Someone called it "Cheap chatty junk" and having it in my hands, and trying to get it to work, and having the sd micro card get stuck in the thing and difficult to get it out, and the controls baffling, and couldn't get ANY sound out of it, etc etc etc - I'd say that was an understament. I sent this back immediately, and Amazon being quite simply THE BEST when comes to returns, no problems there. Instead I bought a Sansa 8gb Clip+ - and THAT has proved to be quite fantastic. If you're after a small MP3 player that has a great loud clear sound (select USA NOT bloody nanny state dictatorial Europe) almost up to the clear sound of my MUCH more expensive Cowon M2, for not much more than this

It may look a bit cheap but it is cheap. But don't let the looks fool you. This is a decent bit of kit. Bought it to plug into to the aux in my car so I would have hours of music to play. Also bought a 60GB micro card from Amazon. All works fine. Plug into computer and just drag files on the the memory card, either into the on board memory or the plug in micro SD card. . Fantastic sound quality in my car. You will find in one of the on board folders TTplayer. Its a free media player. It is really great for playing music on computer. It will also down load the lyrics of the tunes it plays. Neet! I agree with other comments it does have a rather unintuitive way of working with the buttons. As long as you are aware of this easy to learn. You will also find in one of the on-board folders a pdf of the instruction manual. Much better than the instruction book supplied, which is of very small print. However PDF is fine. I only wanted it for playing MP3s so I do not know how good other functions are. I bought it because it would take a massive 60gb Micro sd card. I could not find another MP3 player which could store so much music. The micro SD card that I ordered was the samsung 60gb from Amazon. It has my whole hearted recommendation. Just thought. Final words it plays several different music formats even the lossless FLAC.l

Ok, I've had mine a few weeks now, so here goes.
First off the weird way to operate the buttons etc as mentioned by others, You get used to that within a couple of days.

Battery: Amazing, I left it switched on, and seven hours later it's still fully charged (according to the screen display).

Sound Quality: It's OK, but I'd like more bottom end or bass, even with the customised Eq settings, I still prefer the sound of my elderly Philips. The "Rock" EQ setting is the one with the most bass, but too much of it and not enough of the lead guitars etc. Custom EQ does not seem to have enough bass, regardless of what headphones/earphones I'm using.
Yes you can play all sorts of formats, Mine is playing FLAC only, which is a bonus, and you do hear every instrument and voice etc, but I find myself wanting more bass just the same.

Shuffle: Yes it will shuffle tracks and you do not hear the same one again, but it has it's quirks. One is, if you jump back to the previous track it won't be the one you just heard. If you then go forward to the track you just left, well again it will be a different track.
So if you'r on the bus or train, just select shuffle and leave it alone. It will be a new selection of shuffled track when you play it next time, having switched it off, save for the track it stopped on, that will start from the same place on the same track.

Play and transition from track to track: If you use a card like I do, it can take a couple of seconds to read the next song before it plays it, but this happens on most players where a memory card is used. During buffering for each track I have a soft electronic noise in the left ear piece too.
