Manichaeism taught an elaborate cosmology describing the struggle between a good, spiritual world of light, and an evil, material world of darkness. Through an ongoing process which takes place in human history, light is gradually removed from the world of matter and returned to the world of light from which it came. Its beliefs, based on local Mesopotamian gnostic and religious movements, contained elements of Christianity, Zoroastrianism and Buddhism.
Manichaeism thrived between the third and seventh centuries, and at its height was one of the most widespread religions in the world. Manichaean churches and scriptures existed as far east as China and as far west as the Roman Empire. It was widespread among the legions of the Roman Empire, who considered it a soldier's religion, and it was briefly the main rival to Christianity in the competition to replace classical paganism. Manichaeism survived longer in the East than in the West, and it appears to have finally faded away after the 14th century in southern China, contemporary to the decline in China of the Church of the East – see Ming Dynasty.
My favorite ancient dead religion. Manichaeism was pluralistic, evangelistic, and skeptical of everything except reason.

50 Years of European Manichaeism, by Prof. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis
Leading article first published by the distinguished Prof. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis on 25th March 2007 in the potrtals: Afroarticles, American Chronicle, and Buzzle
Note on the pictorial documentation
Several pictures will remind Buddhism and Buddhist Art in Central Asia and China to many viewers; this is only normal because, across Central Asia and parts of China, in the same locations, cities, towns and villages, Manichaeans, Buddhists and Nestorians lived together in either peace or persecuted by different Turkic, Mongol, Iranian, Sogdian or Chinese rulers. In addition, Central Asiatic and Chinese Manichaeans incorporated Buddha and elements of Buddhism in their religion, and by them Mani (Moni in Chinese - 摩尼) was called the Buddha of Light (光佛).
Note on the musical accompaniment
As the ancestors of the Modern Uighur Nation (who are all Muslims) were Manichaean in their entirety before 900-1200 years, we selected a few good examples of Uighur traditional instrumental music.

Zoroastrianism is also the source of some Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Gnosticism. Does this mean we should all be getting back to the source of Persia rather than Egypt?

This is the story of Mani, who reinterpreted the Story of Genesis.

Manichaeism (Persian آیین مانی Āyin e Māni; Chinese: 摩尼教; pinyin: Móní Jiào) was a major religion that was founded by the Iranian[2] prophet Mani (in Persian: مانی, Syriac: ܡܐܢܝ, Latin: Manichaeus or Manes) (c. 216–276 AD) in the Sasanian Empire.[3][4]
An adherent of Manichaeism is called, especially in older sources,[9] a Manichee, or more recently Manichaean. By extension, the term "manichean" is widely applied (often used as a derogatory term) as an adjective to a philosophy of moral dualism, according to which a moral course of action involves a clear (or simplistic) choice between good and evil, or as a noun to people who hold such a view.

Catharism was a heretical Christian dualist movement that thrived in some areas of Southern Europe, particularly northern Italy and southern France, between the 12th and 14th centuries. Cathar beliefs varied between communities because Catharism was initially taught by ascetic priests who had set few guidelines. The Catholic Church denounced its practices and dismissed it as "the Church of Satan".[4]

James Bean of Spiritual Awakening Radio interviews Dr. Stephan A. Hoeller, Bishop of the Ecclesia Gnostica in this, part 1 of a 3 part series.
The Ecclesia Gnostica
The church bearing this name is the oldest public Gnostic sacramental body in the United States. It was organized as the Pre-Nicene Gnostic Catholic Church at first in England and since 1959 in the United States by the late Bishop Richard, Duc de Palatine. After the demise of the Duc de Palatine in the 1970's, the Church he established in America continued its work under the name Ecclesia Gnostica.
The Regionary Bishop of the church is Dr. Stephan A. Hoeller, who was consecrated to that office by the Duc de Palatine in 1967. Dr. Hoeller is thus the senior holder of what is sometimes called the English Gnostic Transmission in America. (There are no other bishops living in the USA who were consecrated by the Duc de Palatine.)
In upholding the Gnostic tradition, the Ecclesia Gnostica avails itself chiefly of the primary sources of Gnostic teachings. Among these are, first the Nag Hammadi Library, and second, the codices and treatises whose discovery precedes the Nag Hammadi find (such as the Askew, Bruce and Berlin Codices, the Acts of Thomas, Acts of John, and others). Somewhat less reliable, but still quite informative are the references and quotations of Gnostic content in the writings of the heresiologist Church Fathers.
Of the later Gnostic sources, they are particularly devoted to the writings of the Prophet Mani and to the teachings of such Medieval Gnostic movements as the Cathars and the Bogomils. Another valuable primary source is the literature of the Mandaeans, a still practicing Gnostic religion in Iraq. Primary sources such as the ones noted above are of the greatest value to contemporary Gnostics.

The Conditioning of Untermensch - Predictive Programming in Star Wars Movies (by George Synanon Lucas) - Allied 'Black propaganda' by RAND and the Psychological Warfare Division | Two short little phrases by Paulician Andy Serkis Sarkisian: “There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?” Followed by “The dark side…and the light.” Star Wars: Manichaeism "Religion of Light" v. Catharism "the Church of Satan"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharism
Manichaeism taught an elaborate dualistic cosmology describing the struggle between a good, spiritual world of light, and an evil, material world of darkness. Through an ongoing process which takes place in human history, light is gradually removed from the world of matter and returned to the world of light whence it came.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manichaeism
Andrew Clement "Andy" Serkis (born 20 April 1964) was born and brought up in Ruislip Manor in West London. His mother, Lylie (née Weech), was English and taught disabled children. His father, Clement Serkis, was an Iraqi gynaecologist of Paulician Armenian ethnicity. His ancestors' original surname was Sarkisian.

Paulicians (Armenian: Պաւղիկեաններ, Παυλικιανοί) were a Adoptionist sect, also accused by medieval sources of being Gnostic and quasi Manichaean. They flourished between 650 and 872 in Armenia and the Eastern Themes of the Byzantine Empire, the group's name was derived from the 3rd century Bishop of Antioch, Paul of Samosata.

Ford's paternal grandparents, John Fitzgerald Ford and Florence Veronica Niehaus, were of Irish Catholic and German descent, respectively.[4] Ford's maternal grandparents, Harry Nidelman and Anna Lifschutz, were Jewish immigrants from Minsk, Belarus (at that time a part of the Russian Empire).[4] When asked in which religion he and his brother were raised, Ford has jokingly responded, "Democrat,"[6] "to be liberals of every stripe".[7] In a television interview shown in August 2000, when asked about what influence his Irish Catholic and Russian Jewish ancestry may have had on his life as a person and as an artist, Ford humorously stated "As a man I've always felt Irish, as an actor I've always felt Jewish."[8][9] Ford was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and achieved its second-highest rank, Life Scout. He worked at Napowan Adventure Base Scout camp as a counselor for the Reptile Study merit badge. Because of this, he and Eagle Scout director Steven Spielberg later decided to depict the young Indiana Jones as a Life Scout in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. They also jokingly reversed Ford's knowledge of reptiles into Jones' fear of snakes.

Donald Ewen Cameron (24 December 1901 – 8 September 1967) — known as D. Ewen Cameron or Ewen Cameron — was a Scottish-born psychiatrist who served as President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, American (1952–1953) and World Psychiatric Associations. Notwithstanding his high professional reputation, he has been criticized for his administration, without informed consent, of disproportionately-intense electroshock therapy and experimental drugs, including LSD, which rendered some patients permanently comatose. Some of this work took place in the context of the MKUltra mind control program

With clarity and with admirable simplicity, keyed to the understanding of children, Opal Wheeler has traced the many-sided career of George Frederic Handel, whose restless nature vied always with his tremendous ability as a composer and director. Handel's strange boyhood, clouded by the fact that his father did not want him to become a musician, and the later years when, thanks to the patronage of the Duke of Saxe-Weissenfels, his music was played before the greatest music lovers of Europe - all of this makes absorbing reading. The selections of Handel's music included here are those best understood and most apt to be mastered by young musici

archaeological discovery from Song Dynasty ancient tombs in China 詭異宋代古墓里的真相
There is a fatal error in the conclusion about the relationship between Zhuyuanzhang who found Ming Dynasty and Ming Cult. The anchor even not knows the basic historical knowledge!
From the Novel written by Jinsong Legend of the Dragonslayer Sword the end of the novel, Zhu Yuanzhang managed to trick Zhang Wuji and seize power. When he became emperor, he named his dynasty Ming to honor the Ming Cult. But it is nothing but the Novel, historically, Zhu Yuanzhang was a general under the command of Liu Futong. Liu Futong was a member of the White Lotus Sect, a semi-religious organization which was heavily influenced by the Ming doctrine. Liu Futong claimed that the son of White Lotus leader Han Shantong, Han Lin'er was the descendant of the Imperial House of the Song dynasty. He then proclaimed Han Futong as "Damingwang"The greatKing of light“,Han Lin'er(Han Futong's son) as "Xiaomingwang" or the Little King of Light (the King of Light is the same as the God of Light in Manichaeism), emperor of the new Song dynasty. After the death of Liu Futong, power slowly moved into the hands of Zhu Yuanzhang and Han Lin'er became just a puppet emperor. Zhu Yuanzhang then had Han Lin'er assassinated and became emperor. Zhu then named his dynasty the Ming dynasty to "honor" Xiaomingwang and to prove that he is the legitimate successor of Han Lin'er's throne. There's no historical evidence that Zhu Yuanzhang was a follower of the Ming Cult, nor is it certain that the dynastic name is really derived from the Ming Cult.
Furthermore, it is also mentioned in the novel that rebel leader Fang La of the Northern Song dynasty once was the leader of the Ming Cult. In the past, many scholars thought Fang La was indeed Manichaeist -- just because he was a vegetarian. In recent years, research has proved that Fang La had no connection with the Ming Cult at all.

The selections of Handel's music included here are those best understood and most apt to be mastered by young musicians. One evening, back in 1691, conservative Doctor Handel was shocked and dismayed to find his small son carrying the torch at the head of a band of singers wandering through the little town of Halle. The good doctor never quite unde rstood the all-consuming love of music which drove his son from childhood on and on to the great heights he eventually attained as the beloved Father of the Oratorio, the composer of the magnificent MESSIAH. Opal Wheeler has given us here the most finished, most completely satisfying book on her list of fine music biographies. Handel at the Court of Kings should be a favorite of all children who love music, whether they are young musicians themselves or not.
In Mani at the Court of the Persian Kings the authors explore evidence arising from their project to edit the Chester Beatty Kephalaia codex. This new text presents Mani at the heart of Sasanian Iran in dialogue with its sages and nobles, acting as a cultural mediator between East and West and interpreter of Christian, Iranian, and Indian traditions. Nine chapters study Mani’s appropriation of the ‘law of Zarades’ and of Iranian epic; suggest a new understanding of his last days; and analyse his formative role in the history of late antique religions.
These interdisciplinary studies advance research in several fields and will be of interest to scholars of Manichaeism, Sasanian Iran, and the development of religions in Late Antiquity.
Tour the grand residences at Persepolis and the sumptuous imperial palaces of the powerful Darius I at the height of Persian civilization.

My favorite ancient dead religion. Manichaeism was pluralistic, evangelistic, and skeptical of everything except reason.

http://www.patreon.com/aeonbyte It was the only global Gnostic religion ever, extending from Western Europe to central China. Manichaeism was also the biggest threat to the Catholic Church in its early history. But the guys with swords tend to always win over the ones who are pacifists. We revisit the origins, history, and theology of this most unusual catholic Gnosticism, including the life and times of the Prophet Mani. We alsoc take an intimate view of their wondrous but disturbing cosmology and mythology.

Bill Donahue from Hidden Meanings and School of the Holy Science (Astrotheology Radio) conveys this interpetation. There are numerous implications here that contradict claims that Hermeticism and Christianity are Western in tradition. Gnosticism comes from Zoroastrianism, Mani was a Zoroastrian prophet who transformed Christianity in order to eradicate aspects of Judaism from it.
Zoroastrianism is also the source of some Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Gnosticism. Does this mean we should all be getting back to the source of Persia rather than Egypt?

Artisten Manichaean Tooji (persisk 冬至 født 26. mai 1987 i Shiraz i Iran) avslører i sin (666) video hva som har foregått i Brødremenighetens kirke["the Church of Satan"] på Frogner i over 100 år -- alle adopterte barn invitert til «naken helg» hos onkel Thorvald!

By extension, the term "manichean" is widely applied (often used as a derogatory term) as an adjective to a philosophy of moral dualism, according to which a moral course of action involves a clear (or simplistic) choice between good and evil, or as a noun to people who hold such a view.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manichaeism
