Anna Trebunskaya (Russian: Анна Требунская; born December 28, 1980) is a Russian professional ballroom and Latin dancer, known for her appearances on Dancing with the Stars. She now lives in Los Angeles, California and dances in the International Latin style.
Anna Trebunskaya was born December 28, 1980 in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Her parents, Oleg Trebunski and Irina Trebunskaya, owned a dance studio and were professional ballroom dancers. Anna took to dancing from an early age and began dancing at the age of six in her native Russia. At the age of seven, Anna entered and won her first competition. Anna moved to the United States with her parents when she was 17 years old.
She currently resides in California with her husband and former dance partner, Jonathan Roberts. Anna, Jonathan, and Anna's mother Irina own a dance studio in Hermosa Beach, California.
In 2007, Trebunskaya and her partner Pavlo Barsuk took 6th place at the International Latin finals in America's Ballroom Challenge. Over the next several years, she continued to garner the attention of the ballroom community through a series of similar successes.[citation needed]
Derek Hough ( /ˈhʌf/; born May 17, 1985) is an American dancer, choreographer, musician and actor. A world champion in Latin American Dance, Hough has appeared since September 2007 (Seasons 5 - 11 and Season 13) on the hit U.S. television series Dancing with the Stars, where he is currently a three-time champion (with Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jennifer Grey), one-time finalist (with Ricki Lake), three-time semi-finalist (with Jennie Garth, Joanna Krupa, and Maria Menounos), and a quarter-finalist (with Lil' Kim). Hough has earned three Creative Arts Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Choreography (2009 and 2010 ) for his work on the show.
Prior to joining Dancing with the Stars, Hough starred as Ren in the 2006 original cast production of Footloose: The Musical at the Novelo Theatre in London's West End, as well as on the 2006 U.K. national tour. Hough's West End performance earned him a nomination as The Stuart Phillips London Newcomer of the Year in the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards. Hough made his Broadway debut on January 8, 2010, starring with Kym Johnson and Mary Murphy in Burn the Floor for the final four performances of the show's Broadway run. A founding member of the Ballas Hough Band (formerly Almost Amy), Hough shares lead vocals, plays guitar and has several songwriting credits on the band's self-titled debut CD, released by Hollywood Records in March 2009.
Evan Frank Lysacek (pronounced /ˈɛvən ˈlaɪsətʃɛk/; born June 4, 1985) is an American figure skater. He is the 2010 Olympic champion, the 2009 World champion, the 2005 & 2007 Four Continents champion, the 2007 & 2008 U.S. national champion, and the 2009/2010 Grand Prix Final champion.
Lysacek was also a member of the U.S. Olympic Team at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where he placed 4th in the men's event.
Lysacek was the United States Olympic Committee's SportsMan of the Year for 2010. He was also honored with the prestigious James E. Sullivan Award as the top U.S. amateur athlete of 2010.
Evan Lysacek was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Naperville, Illinois. His mother, Tanya (née Santoro), is a substitute teacher in Naperville, and his father, Don, is a building contractor. He has an older sister, Laura, and a younger sister, Christina, who played on a nationally ranked volleyball team. His cousin Cole Chason is a former punter for the Clemson Tigers. Lysacek went to Spring Brook Elementary and then to Gregory Middle School. Lysacek graduated from Neuqua Valley High School in 2003. During high school, Lysacek was a member of the honor roll, where he earned a number of academic achievement awards, including the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence in 1999.
Albert Reed (born March 6, 1985 in South Miami, Florida) is an American model. Raised in the surf culture of Vero Beach, Florida, Reed's modeling career accelerated at the age of 19 after appearing on the cover of Abercrombie & Fitch's 2004 back-to-school catalog. In August 2007, Reed was selected to appear in the fifth season of the U.S. television series Dancing with the Stars.
Reed was born in South Miami, Florida at the South Miami Hospital to Barbara Foster and John Reed. At the age of thirteen, Reed moved with his family about 150 miles (240 km) north of their middle class Miami neighborhood to Vero Beach, which Reed refers to as "a little surfer town located on the east coast of central Florida." The family's proximity to the beach allowed Reed to surf just about every day. He quickly integrated himself into the local surf culture and adopted a live-to-surf casual lifestyle.
In 2000, Reed began attending Vero Beach High School. While he was in the 10th grade, Reed's parents, who Reed describes as hippies, divorced.
Louis van Amstel (born June 23, 1972, Amsterdam) is a Dutch-born American ballroom dance champion, professional dancer, and choreographer who appears on the U.S. reality television series Dancing with the Stars.
Louis van Amstel was born in Amsterdam; his grandparents were competitive ballroom dancers. He began dancing at 10 and entered competitions at 15. He stopped attending school at 16 to pursue dancing full-time.[citation needed]
He became an American citizen in July 1999 and returned to competition partnered with Karina Smirnoff; they won the United States national championship in 2000.
Van Amstel was cast for season 1 of Dancing with the Stars in early 2005. He was partnered with Trista Sutter, but they were the first to be eliminated from the competition. In season 2, he was partnered with hostess Lisa Rinna, with whom he reached fourth place.
Van Amstel returned in season 3 and was partnered with High School Musical star Monique Coleman. During the eighth week of the competition, they received two 10s for their Cha-Cha-Cha marking Van Amstel's only 10s of Dancing With The Stars to date. They made it to the semi-finals, but were eliminated, resulting in a fourth place finish. He did not participate in season 4 due to all the females being taller than he, but he nonetheless maintained a role as a performer and choreographer throughout the season and season 5.
