Hindustan (Urdu name for India) used to a vast territory and countries' like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangla Desh, and Bhutan were all it's provinces. All this changed when the British established their rule over India, and promoted their policy of hatred, and division - mainly between the Hindus and the Muslims. After their departure in 1947, the celebrations of a independent India were short-lived, and the divisions created by the British stayed on and flourished with extremists from both sides ready to kill anyone from the other side. While the Muslims under Jinnah wanted a separate country, which they would like to call Pakistan, the Hindus wanted the Muslims to leave this country and go to Pakistan. Clashes followed, millions fled, millions more were killed, Very little is known of mankind's heinous behavior in this circumstances, such as looting, raping, and kidnapping. Lajjo was one such woman who was recently married to Ramchand, and then abducted by a man named Rashid, who gets her to Pakistan, where she is to be second wife of an abusive and controlling male. Her sister-in-law, Puro, distraught at losing her Bhabhi in such short a time, sets out to search for her, encouraged by her brother, but cautioned by her parents, who would not prefer to lose another child. Puro begins her task of locating Lajjo and calls herself Hamida, ironically assisted by none other than a much changed and remorseful Rashid, and goes from door to door as a petty saleswoman and cleaner. Then one day she finds Lajjo. Not quite the fun-loving and exuberant Lajjo she knew, but a much subdued one - trapped and under the 24/7 control of "Amma" and her alcoholic husband. Puro does get to speak to her in private, and both conspire to escape, hopefully back to her husband and their family. The question remains will Puro be successful in getting Lajjo to escape, or will she herself be entrapped in a hopeless situation.

Vijay Agnihotri is a wealthy, spoilt man who lives with his mother in the city of Mumbai. His mother has allowed him everything and more than that he wants. One day on a mishap Vijay manages to reach up with an air-hostess named Shivani Chopra, he immediately falls head over heels in love with Shivani. He tells his mother about his love, and his mother agrees to get him married, on there way to Shivani's house they get a nasty shock for Shivani had get married to Ashok Chopra, an air-line pilot. Vijay is unable to accept this proposal and continues to persuade Shivani to marry him. He even destroys Shivani's family and has her sent to jail. When Shivani is released from jail she plans to take revenge from Vijay and to make him account for all his sins.

Indian Army Captain Amar Kumar lives with his father, Ram, and mother, Saraswati. Ram has been associated with top freedom fighters during India's struggle for independence from the British. Almost all of these freedom fighters had taken advantage of their involvement and have taken up important positions in India's administration, and these include Jagrathan, and Mohanlal. While others like Vaisakh Ansari and Ram have chosen not to. Amar goes to Delhi and meets Mohanlal, who offers him a position of personal secretary with Jagrathan. Then a chain of events lead to the death of Jagrathan's pilot son, Surender, resulting in Jagrathan threatening to expose the powers that-be unless they come clean and admit their involvement. Then Jagrathan is killed in a vehicle accident. Before dying he asks Dr. Shabnam to hand-over a key to Amar. Before Shabnam could do so, she is attacked by two unknown men, and wounded. Together with Amar and Rafiq Sayed Jaffrey, they locate the key - but do not know where to locate the lock. Then Shabnam is attacked again, but Amar rescues her. Amar's world is turned upside down when he is accused of treason, court-martial-ed, and dishonorably discharged from the army. Disillusioned by this, he decides to join the very forces that are involved in treason. And when he does he finds out that he is not amongst strangers at all.

Ordered to stay away from Delhi's border for several years, two convicts, Kishan and Kanhaiya, decide to hitch a ride through a goods train to Bombay. But before they could get to the bottom of this matter, their lives themselves are under threat - by a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Vijaykumar lives a poor lifestyle along with his honest store-owner widower father, Mohanlal, in a small town. The latter sells his merchandise at a reasonable price much to the chagrin of his competitor, Lalchand, who plants drugs in his store and has him arrested. Unable to bear the shock and humiliation, he passes away, leaving Vijaykumar in the care of his doctor. The latter grows up, becomes a graduate in Science, and re-locates to Bombay to be employed and live with wealthy Champalal and his daughter, Geeta. Vijaykumar does not know that Champalal's partner is none other than Lalchand, who wants his son, Kishore, to wed Geeta, and is all set to create obstacles and challenges for him by marketing untested creams and painkillers.

Madampi (Malayalam: മാടമ്പി; translation: Feudal Lord) is a 2008 Malayalam Action Family Drama movie starring Mohanlal, KPAC Lalitha and Kavya Madhavan. It was written and directed by B. Unnikrishnan.The film got positive critical reviews and was one of the highest grossing malayalam movie of that year Gopalakrishna Pillai (Mohanlal) is a money-lender in a village called Elavattom in Pathanamthitta district. People misunderstand him to be money-minded, without having any emotional bond even towards his mother or younger brother Ramakrishna Pillai (Ajmal Ameer). As the story moves along, we learn more about the hero. He is considered heartless, as he threw out his father (Sai Kumar) when he was a teenager, for his father's wayward lifestyle. His mother (KPAC Lalitha) hates him for doing that and his brother hates him because he does not let his brother pursue his dream of being an actor and never gives him any freedom. His main antagonists are Siddique and his younger brothers. Kavya Madhavan assumes the role of Jayalakshmi, a bank manager who is seen as a threat to Gopalakrishna's money lending business. It turns out that Ramakrishna Pillai is in love with a girl (Mallika Kapoor) from Gopalakrishna Pillai's rival family. Though Gopalakrishnan Pillai arranges the marriage forgetting the rivalry, after marriage he asks his brother to repay him the expenses he incurred for the marriage and prompts the newlyweds to sleep separately. With this he becomes the most hated person of his brother and mother. Frustrated, Ramakrishna Pillai leaves the house and joins his in-laws against Gopalakrishna Pillai by saying that his money-lending business is illegal. Still that doesn't work. Ramakrishna Pillai accuses his brother of processioning the family wealth alone and he gives false information to the Income Tax Department files a suite against him in court. In the climax it is revealed by Gopalakrishna Pillai's advocate (Jagathy Sreekumar) that Gopalakrishna Pillai has kept his hard-earned wealth in the name of his younger brother and he was always hard on him just to make him responsible. It also is revealed that his father was not thrown out, but committed suicide in a distant place due to his debts. The story ends happily as the brothers reunite and everyone apologises to Gopalakrishna Pillai.

It was Tamil director Suresh Krishna's debut in the Malayalam industry and his next venture after the Tamil blockbuster Baasha. After three consecutive blockbusters with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, Suresh Krishna wanted to direct Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, and Mohanlal agreed to do the film.The music was scored by Deva with lyrics penned by Girish Puthenchery. It was a story of the other side of a Mafia family. Jeeva (Mohanlal), son of a Don (Girish Karnad), falls in love with Swarna, daughter of a famous Carnatic singer named Vishwanath. He hides the truth of his family background from her to win her love. But then one fine day she comes to know and shocked beyond disbelief, uses silence as her weapon to bring him to confess his situation. How Jeeva goes through trials and tribulations of saving his love on one side and law of the mafia on the other side forms the theme of the film. Prakash Raj plays the role of the villan. Padmarajan, which is based on his own novel Udakappola. Chithram (English: Picture) is a 1988 Malayalam screwball comedy film written and directed by Priyadarshan. The film was produced by P. K. R. Pillai under the banner Shirdi Sai Creations. The film stars Mohanlal, Ranjini, Nedumudi Venu, Poornam Vishwanathan, Sreenivasan, Soman, Sukumari, Lizy, and Maniyanpilla Raju while Thikkurissy appears in a guest role. The musical songs were composed by Kannur Rajan and the background score was by Johnson. The film was a phenomenal success at the Kerala box-office when released during 1988 Christmas weekend. It broke all existing records in Malayalam cinema at the time. It had a theatrical run of more than 366 days in some centres and is said to be one of the highest grossing films in Malayalam cinema. It collected INR 6+ crores from major centres. Kalyani (Ranjini) is the daughter of a wealthy NRI Ramachandra Menon (Poornam Vishwanathan) who resides in the United States. Kalyani, brought up in Chennai by her father's friend Kaimal (Nedumudi Venu), falls in love with another man and decides to marry against the wishes of her father. When her boyfriend finds out that she will be disinherited, he ditches her at the altar. After a short while her father decides to retract his disapproval and spend a fortnight's vacation with his daughter and son-in-law in his estate near a tribal community where Menon is the chief. Because her father is already ill and because this may be his last vacation, Kalyani and Kaimal want to make it as happy for him as possible. They decide to conceal the fact that her boyfriend dumped her. Kaimal hires Vishnu (Mohanlal) to play the part of the husband for a fortnight. Meanwhile Kalyani's cousin Bhaskaran Nambiar (Sreenivasan) who is the caretaker of the estate was expected to inherit Menon's estate and property when Kalyani was disinherited, is determined not to let go without a fight. He knows that Vishnu is not Kalyani's boyfriend and makes various botched attempts to prove this. Initially Vishnu and Kalyani do not get along and keep bickering. But as time passes, she develops an affection towards Vishnu and hopes to marry him for real. A couple of days after they have a mysterious visitor (Soman) who claims to be a relative of Vishnu. Finally it is revealed that Vishnu is actually an escaped convict from jail who is sentenced to death and the visitor turns out to be the prison warden. Vishnu's past is shown in flashback and he was a freelance photographer who was married to a woman named Revathy (Lizy Priyadarshan), a mute dancer. They also had a child. Vishnu discovers that a man was visiting his wife when he was not around and begins to suspect her. Coming home one day he finds the man there and tries to attack him. Revathy dies in the scuffle, Vishnu discovers that the man is actually her brother who is a naxalite. He tells Kalyani that he escaped prison to make money for the surgery of his child. On the last night of Vishnu's stay at the house, he asks Jail Warden, is it possible for him to live, as he started to like life again. The warden did not reply to his question as he is helpless regarding this. After a happy fortnight, Kalyani's father returns to the US. The final scene shows the warden taking Vishnu to jail, with Kalyani watching him leave, where his execution awaits him. Coming Soon..... Mohanlal Full Name is Mohanlal Viswanathan Nair (born 21 May 1960) better known as Mohanlal is an Indian actor, film producer and occasional singer best known for his work in Malayalam films. Film critics, contemporaries, and other experts consider him as one of the greatest living actors in Indian cinema and apart,[for his versatile and natural acting.Widely regarded as a cultural icon, he also holds a matinee idol status in the popular culture of Kerala. Mohanlal made his acting debut in Thiranottam (1978), but the film got released only after 25 years due to censorship issues. His first film to be released was Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980) in which he acted as the antagonist. He became a superstar with the commercial success of Rajavinte Makan (1986) which is widely considered as a cult classic in action movie genre. In a career spanning over three decades, Mohanlal has acted in over 300 Malayalam films in various genres. Mohanlal has also acted in Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. Of these, his notable roles were in Iruvar (1997), directed by Mani Ratnam, and Company (2002), directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Mohanlal was elected as the most popular Keralite in an online poll conducted by CNN-IBN in 2006 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Kerala's formation.In 2001, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour, for his contributions towards Indian cinema. He has won four Indian National Film Awards – two Best Actor Awards, one Special Jury Award, and one Award for Best Film as producer; along with six Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor and eight Filmfare Awards for Best Actor. But because of the compulsions from her parents and fiancé, Vivek (Anoop Menon), she moves back to Mumbai. Mouli plots a plan with his friend Thabala Balu (Harisree Ashokan) to bring her back to Chennai. He makes Daya believe that he is now composing a dozen songs for a film and wants Daya to sing it. Daya, who comes back to Chennai, is not impressed by Mouli's tunes. When she openly expresses her unhappiness over the tune, Mouli takes it as a prestige issue and composes a song entirely dedicated to her. However, Daya is unable to attend the studio on that particular date as she is getting married to Vivek, whom she feels is too arrogant and sophisticated for her. Mouli enters the marriage venue and takes Daya to the studio for 30 minutes despite the opposition from her family members. Daya, who within time is fully in love with Mouli, realizes his love for her and opens her mind to him. The film ends with Mouli relaxing at a beach with Daya, but his old habits of carefree nature and passion for girls still not gone.
