One will see images of nature, gardens, and abstract versions of nature depicting our relationship with and the intimacy that we share with nature. Often subjects of still life paintings, photographs or renderings, nature plays a pivotal role in our landscape of the Greater Los Angeles basin and “Le Petit Jardin @ LAX” captures this world of green thumbs expanding upon the vitality of our unique paradise. Once a desert, Los Angeles has blossomed and with it, the culture of fine arts has come into full bloom. Artists like Linda Kunik, Founder of “Plant it Forward” and Ann Summa, a Photojournalist for the Los Angeles Times, both elevate the community garden to a higher level with photographic documentation and creative excellence. Watercolorist Gayle Garner Roski depicts the serenity of water lilies and reveals important history by rendering the reflections of a California Mission. Photographers Ginger Van Hook, Jenelle Casarez, Roger Thomas and Ingrid Dietrich reveal our relationship with Oriental Gardens. Artists Michael Verbenec and Anne Cheek La Rose focus on the blooming Los Angeles desert, while Photographers Frank Zgonc, Phil Tarley, Krista Marlene and Ellen Cantor expose the softer side of LA with rose petals, bamboo and the vibrancy of flowers, tulips and orchids. Artists and oil painters Renée Fox, Patricia Meisels, Kuniko Ruch, Kate Davis Caldwell, Terry Arena and Carol Spence use sensual orchids, dancing California Poppies, climbing Rose trellises, seeds, ferns, green lawns, and Lavender Irises to reveal their natural environments. Ferreras, Ofunne Obiamiwe, Marjan Vayghan and Felicity Nove explore the abstract concept of the garden and the flower creating an eloquent magical quality inherent in the diverse landscape of Los Angeles.
