Recently I shared with you a tour of
Audrey's apartment in
Yongin and in this travel video I give you a tour of my
Korean apartment in
Anseong /
Pyeongtaek,
Korea. My apartment in Korea is very standard -- small space, high rise, etc. Before taking us on a tour I shows you my candy cane green stripped socks; an early
Christmas present from Audrey If that wasn't quirky enough I takes you into my Korean bedroom before having a bizarre dance party with my girlfriend Audrey.
Once that is over I show you my kitchen which is nearly bare aside from a few condiments. After demonstrating my skills at picking up a butter knife with chopsticks I bring you to the bathroom. A typical Korean bathroom is wet on the floors and flip flops are necessary to move around.
The bathroom is atypically clean which is a certainly atypical; after-all, I'm anything but
Mr. Clean Next up is a tour of the spare room which is more of a storage facility than anything else; however, I do show off my swanky new orange camera bag that I purchased to carry around my Sony dSLR.
Finally we take a look at my balcony where the laundry machine is located. Views from the outside reveal rice fields and a parking lot; certainly nothing spectacular at all compared to Audrey's balcony. As per usual, there are plenty of bloopers at the end.
One of the major advantages about both of our apartments is the close proximity to our respective schools. On foot, I can reach my school in less than 5 minutes. Audrey is just a stone throw away from her private academy which she can reach by walking less than 2 minutes. It makes going to work that much easier:

I'm going to show you my apartment today.
Let's go take a look - over there.
The views from outside of my apartment - rice fields aplenty.
Welcome to my bedoire. It is just a bed, a couch, a bookshelf (which has no books on it) and a little makeshift wardrobe and my dresser. Also, a tv
I never use.
And this here is my tiny little Korean kitchen. I'm going to show you what is going on here.
I've got this small sink, which is basically just washing the dishes here and drying them up on this rack. I've got different Korean glasses. This is a
Korean beer company
Cass. In Korean beer it is called Makju. I've got my Makju glasses. Who could be in Korea without having metal chopsticks. I can even use them.
Look at this.
Good for you - you should be able to after four years here. I should. I should. Agreed.
Let's see if I can pick up something here - this little butter knife.
Excellent demonstration. And you of course would do that in real life picking up butter knives with chopsticks.
Okay, so the other interesting thing about a Korean kitchen is that unlike western kitchens you don't have an oven. You can see here that we just have a heating elements. There is two actually and there is a frying pan which I never use because I don't cook.
Being a well paid teacher in Korea, of course I have a plentiful supply of food, as you can see - or not. There is just condiments and water and juice and more condiments and bread. It is a very - you can tell I don't eat here very often.
Bathroom time! Come on in. One thing interesting about a Korean apartment is that it is considered to be a wet bathroom and a wet shower, so you put on your flip flops. You can see I can just flip flop right into them all nice and dandy. Well done. If you look here this is the shower area - the wet shower area. I've got my manly products and over here there is a little humble bathroom.
Something looks different about this place.
Yeah, there is something kind of wrong.
Maybe, could it be that it is clean for once. For once!
Don't expect that to happen again.
Final part of my apartment - the balcony. On the balcony we have of course the washer and that is it.
