Axis & Allies is a series of World War II strategy board games. Originally designed by Larry Harris and published by Nova Game Designs in 1981, the game was republished by the Milton Bradley Company in 1984 as part of the Gamemaster Series of board games. This edition has been retroactively named Axis & Allies: Classic to differentiate it from later revisions. In 1996, Axis & Allies: Classic was inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Adventure Gaming Hall of Fame.Games magazine also has inducted Axis & Allies into their buyers' guide Hall of Fame, an honor the magazine extends to "games that have met or exceeded the highest standards of quality and play value and have been continuously in production for at least 10 years; i.e., classics."
Axis & Allies: Classic was the most successful of the five Gamemaster Series of board games. Long after the Gamemaster name was retired, A&A: Classic lives on having been moved to the Avalon Hill lineup following the acquisition of Milton Bradley Company and Avalon Hill by Hasbro. The game itself has gone through several revisions, most recently in 2013. The object of the game and its spinoffs, is to win the war by capturing enough critical territories to gain the advantage over the enemy in a recreation of World War II.
The second season of the television series Stargate Atlantis commenced airing on the Sci Fi Channel in the United States on July 15, 2005, concluded on The Movie Network in Canada on January 30, 2006, and contained 20 episodes. The show itself is a spin off of its sister show, Stargate SG-1. The series was developed by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, who also served as executive producers. Season two regular cast members include Joe Flanigan, Torri Higginson, Jason Momoa, Rachel Luttrell, Paul McGillion, and David Hewlett as Dr. Rodney McKay. The second season focuses on the Atlantis Expedition continuing to make the Wraith think that the city self-destructed, (The Siege Part III) while continuing to explore Pegasus and hunt for ZPMs (although they do have one now) this means at times lying to new allies about the city even sometimes claiming to be a small contingent that escaped the Siege; the season also marks the first time the Expedition is able to make contact with Earth although doing so uses a lot of power so the contact is oftentimes via the Daedalus, an intergalactic Earth-Asgard vessel commanded by Col. Steven Caldwell who makes clear his desire to be Military Leader of Atlantis but eventually settles for a sort of advisory role as it becomes clear that Dr. Weir and the Lt.Col Sheppard are a duo not to be messed with. The central plot of the second season is the development of Dr. Beckett's retrovirus, which can, theoretically, turn a Wraith into a human.
Chris is a short form of various names including Christopher, Christian, Christina, Christine, and Christos. Unlike these names, however, it does not indicate the person's gender although it is much more common for males to have this name than it is for females.
It is the preferred form of the full name of such notable individuals as Chris Tucker and Chris Penn. To find an article about one of these people, see List of all pages beginning with "Chris".
The word is also part of phrases, including Tropical Storm Chris, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and many more which refer to notable people, places, and things. For a list of these, see All pages with titles containing chris.

Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) is a male given name of Irish and Breton origin, as well as a surname of Occitan origin. It is common in the English-speaking world. It is possible that the name is derived from an Old Celtic word meaning "high" or "noble". For example, the element bre means "hill"; which could be transferred to mean "eminence" or "exalted one". The name is quite popular in Ireland, on account of Brian Boru, a 10th-century king of Ireland. The name was also quite popular in East Anglia during the Middle Ages. This is because the name was introduced to England by Bretons following the Norman Conquest. Bretons also settled in Ireland along with the Normans in the 12th century, and 'their' name was mingled with the 'Irish' version. Also, in the north-west of England, the 'Irish' name was introduced by Scandinavian settlers from Ireland. Within the Gaelic speaking areas of Scotland, the name was at first only used by professional families of Irish origin. It was the fourth most popular male name in England and Wales in 1934, but a sharp decline followed over the remainder of the 20th century and by 1994 it had fallen out of the top 100. It retained its popularity in the United States for longer; its most popular period there was from 1968–1979 when it consistently ranked between eighth and tenth.
In which Germany executes a successful Sea Lion invasion on Turn 4, but invests too many resources into defending it and allows Russia to get too strong. Japan waits until Turn 4 to attack, but the delay allows the Allies to slow its advance. Allied victory in 11 turns.
In which the Allies demonstrates the value of a strong Taranto raid opening play; Germany takes the unusual step of buying nothing on Turn 1; Japan attacks on Turn 1; and the Axis ultimately concede after 1.5 turns. Second game played in 2015.
In which Germany deters the UK from launching a Taranto raid, allowing Italy to dominate the Med and chase the Allies back across the Middle East. By the time Japanese tanks join them there, you know the game is going poorly for the Allies. Axis victory in 12 turns with Japan winning on the Pacific board.
In which Chris as the Allies attempts the Spanish Beachhead strategy (i.e., the US & UK invading Spain), and makes a strong push for the Middle East, but Brian's Axis powers retaliate by taking and holding Spain and Turkey. Meanwhile, Japan declares war on J1, takes Calcutta on J4, and wins the game on J9 by taking Sydney.
In which Chris once again plays the Allies in an attempt to devise a way to defeat the infamous J1 Declaration of War. This time he plays a Kill Japan First strategy, even going so far as to swing the UK Mediterranean fleet into the Indian Ocean. As a result, Japan's expansion is halted, but Germany and Italy explode, ultimately winning the game on the European board. We end with some thoughts about the J1 attack and how to compensate for it with house rules.
On this week’s episode of On Contact, Chris Hedges explores why Saudi Arabia remains one of the U.S.’ closest allies in the Middle East with Medea Benjamin, author of “Kingdom of the Unjust: Behind the U.S.-Saudi Connection” . They examine why the U.S. overlooks the Saudi’s treatment of women, public executions and promotion of a fundamentalist religion that sanctifies violence. I'm sitting with an empty glass and a broken heart
Thinking to myself what have I done
Cuz as my future got bright we started losing light
And I couldn't see that you were the one
So can we push,push,push rewind
go,go back in time
When we were kids thinking bottles of wine
take,take, take me back
I wanna go back
back to what we had
Do you remember when we started this mess
My heart was beating out of my chest
Remember when we stole your dads car
I never thought we take it that far
We were flying so high
Partners in crocs
So why we ever say goodbye
Remember when we, when we had it all
Do you remember when
I wish I was still the only one
running cross your mind
I guess I just wanted you to know
Oh from your ruby lips to your fingertips
I can't believe I let you go
So can we push, push, push rewind
go,go back in time
when we were kids thinking bottles of wine
take,take,take me back
I wanna go back
Back to what we had
Do you remember when we started this mess
My heart was beating out of my chest
Remember when we stole your dads car
I never thought we take it that far
We were flying so high
Partners in crocs
So why we ever say goodbye
Remember when we, when we had it all
Do you remember when
I hanging by a thread
I'm tearing up the scene
holding on to what we used to be
And I'm sure that you don't
But just won't give up, up, up ,up....
Push,push,push rewind
go, go back in time
When we were kids thinking bottles of wine
Take, take, take me back
I wanna go back
Back to what we had
Do you remember when we
Started this mess
My heart was beating out of my chest
