The Philippinesi/ˈfɪlɨpiːnz/FI-lə-peenz (Filipino: Pilipinas[ˌpɪlɪˈpinɐs]), officially known as the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas) is a sovereign country in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. To its north across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan. West across the South China Sea sits Vietnam. The Sulu Sea to the southwest lies between the country and the island of Borneo, and to the south the Celebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia. It is bounded on the east by the Philippine Sea. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and its tropical climate make the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons but have also endowed the country with natural resources and made it one of the richest areas of biodiversity in the world. An archipelago comprising 7,107 islands, the Philippines is categorized broadly into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Its capital city is Manila.

What To Know About Manila, Philippines
A brief documentary about Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. Every year, more than 5.5 million tourists take their vacations in the Philippines, and often Manila is their very first stop.
Nearly 16 million people live in the Metro Manila area, which is made up of many smaller cities, including Makati, Pasay, Pasig, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, and more.
Manila is where big business takes place, where major investments are made, and where residential and commercial real estate is never-ending. Many tourists enjoy the malls, the restaurants, the museums, the nightlife, and even the beautiful Manila Bay. Probably, the bigges

Local Etiquette - Manila, Philippines Travel Guide
How to behave in social situations in Manila.
Here are a few customs and etiquette to be aware of during your visit to the Phillipines. Filipinos value honor. The concept of hiya or shame requires one to behave in a manner that will not shame the person or the family. Handshake is common when meeting someone. If elders are present, acknowledge them first. Address people formally indicating their profession or using their last names. In discussions Filipinos tend to be non-confrontational. People will not directly say no.
In making appointments, Filipinos tend to be more forgiving. If you arrive 15 to 20 minutes late, unless you are attendi

Travel Philippines, S2, Ep 1, Makati & Taguig Manila, Bonifacio High Street Nightlife Food Market
B Adventure, Travel Series: Philippines 2015. Season 2, Episode 1. Guide, tips, and advice. Hanging out in Makati Manila, popular CBD and tourist area. The Fort Strip Taguig City, Manila, is the popular nightlife district with plenty of nightclubs, lounges, and restaurants. More detailed info and links below.
The Clipper Hotel, Makati Manila.
http://www.theclipperhotel.com/index.html
Cruising around Makati Manila.
Buddha-Bar, Makati Manila.
Taguig City, Manila. Also called The Fort, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Bonifacio High Street. There was a food festival market, dog show, and live band that night.
Travel Tips:
Everyone spoke English and generally very friendly.
Its important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
Its common for taxi drivers in Manila and every other city to try rip you off, or overcharge foreigners. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start. Ask locals what it costs to your location. If you are not comfortable, don't use that taxi. Don't be afraid to move on and find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite. Shop around, you can often get a better price. Ask around about local fair pricing for things you want to do.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP200 - 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

You want the right gear. Waterproof backpack. If a laptop, then a small one. Swimsuit. Micro-towel. Focus on nice, lightweight stuff. Get wrinkle free and you won't have to worry about ironing.
There's great adventure here, but you wanna be able to pack light and fast. Packing light will make everything easier. It's one of the best Philippines travel advice tips to remember.
One of the bags that you hang around your waist for your phone, wallet, cash, etc.
If you can buy it in your country, you can buy it here. You can buy Macbooks, bottled water, batteries, etc.
Everything you can get here, so pack light. And everything's cheap here. Laundry is cheap so you won't have to do any laundry.
2 or 3 changes of clothes. MAYBE a change of pants but not really necessary. This is the second video in the Philippines travel guide series.

___ About Me.. After 49 years living in Southern California, USA, I decided to move to the Philippines despite never having been here before. I spent a year getting all the information I could online and on July, 2012, I took a leap of faith and transplanted myself first to Mactan and then began my trek through Cebu, Bohol, Panglao, Moalboal and currently in Dumaguete here in the amazing Philippines.
I am a single man taking an honest look at all that the islands here have to offer, one day at a time. I hope you find my LBTSea site informative, entertaining and hopefully.. both. :) Be sure to visit the Forum for asking questions and ongoing forum conversations with other experienced expats.
Probably, the biggest tourist attraction is the SM Mall of Asia - the 3rd largest mall in the world.

If you arrive 15 to 20 minutes late, unless you are attending a business function. If you ever receive a gift, open it afterwards, not in front of the person who gave it to you. When it comes to tipping, 10 percent of the bill is typical in most situations, unless it is already included. In that case you can give a small change. Most of all, Filipinos try their best to be hospitable. When visiting their homes you may be invited to a meal even if it was not planned. I am Roselyn Cantos showing you metro Manila.

I am at McCarthy Avenue at the heart of a huge business district in metro Manilla. This is where Ayala Museum is located, a private collection that provides a glimpse of Philippine art and history. The museum opened in 1974 and was the brainchild of artist Fernando Zobel. I am here with Ms. Nita Samson, a curator at the Ayala Museum.
Ms. Samson, what is unique about this museum? What makes Ayala Museum unique is that it is both a history and an art museum. Our historical dioramas and boat gallery are proven crowd drawers.
The main attraction here is a diorama of Philippine history created by artists from Paete, Laguna. Another popular attraction is the boat gallery that showcases maritime trade and colonial economy. As we go up the third and fourth levels, pioneers of Philippine art Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Fernando Zobel are showcased.
You can buy souvenirs here at the museum shop and every purchase you make helps support the educational programs of the museum. When you visit here, allot two hours to explore the whole museum. The Ayala Museum is a quick way to learn about Philippine culture. I am Rosalyn Cantos showing you metro Manilla.

B Adventures, Travel Series: Philippines 2014, Season 1, Episode 11 of 26. Guide, tips, and advice.
Davao Waterfront Insular Hotel. Davao City in Mindanao, is known for being very safe and clean. Shopping, food, taxi's, etc are much cheaper compared to Manila, great place to visit. Also a "no smoking" city. You can only smoke in designated areas, and no littering, or you will be fined.
Travel Tips:
Everyone spoke English and generally very friendly.
Its important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
Its common for taxi drivers in Manila to try rip you off. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start if you know what it costs to your location. Otherwise find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

In March 2015, we met up with 7 of our close friends in El Nido, Palawan, The Philippines. It was a week of non stop fun, action and laughs. We went on Tour A, B & C, including our favorite stop, Snake Island. We rode motorbikes to Nacpan Beach where we had the beach in front of Catian Beach Restaurant to ourselves, and ate one of our favorite meals from the trip. We hung out on the beach at Marimegmeg Beach, and dropped our jaws while watching the most vivid sunset any of us had ever seen at Republica Sunset Bar in Corong Corong. We partied all night long on Cadlao Island during a camping trip, while discovering that Tanduay Mojito tastes li

Living Amid Graves & Bones: The Philippines' Cemetery Slums
Like many of its Asian neighbors, the Philippines has been site of rapid economic growth over the past two decades. Following a period of martial law and strict control over rural provinces, peasants and farmers began moving to the nation's capital, Manila, in the 1980s looking for better lives. However, many of these people remained on the margins of both society and the city itself. As the population boomed, slums began cropping up.
VICE Japan traveled to Manila in order to investigate conditions in one such slum inside Navotas Cemetery, where 6,000 men, women, and children currently live amid the graves and excavated human bones.

Philippine Army Scout Ranger - World's Deadliest Elite Fighting Force - Documentary Films HD
The Scout Ranger Program was born upon November 25, 1950 under the command of former AFP Vice Chief of Team and also Protection Secretary Rafael M. Ileto. [2] Named after both the Alamo Scouts and the United States Military Rangers, the device was developed because of an expanding need to respond to the Hukbalahap Guerrillas and its disobedience with a force learnt small system activities. [2] Precursor Rangers participated in the December 1989 coup attempt versus the Corazon Aquino - Aquino Management. [3] Led by Captain Danilo Lim, Major Abraham Purugganan and also Lieutenant Colonel Rafael Galvez, some 2500 rangers took over Makati in the most harmful successful stroke effort versus the Aquino Management, [3] [4] which left hundreds of civilians as well as soldiers dead, and also hundreds more hurt.
Scout Rangers played a significant role in capturing the MILF rebel camp during the full blast war against the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
With the rise of guerrilla and terrorist tasks in the Philippines, the Scout Rangers have joined the Light Reaction Squadron to take on more responsibility in interior security responsibilities. [5]
Their head office, where the scout ranger school is also located is in Camp Tecson in San Miguel, Bulacan. The land was donated by 1902 - 1906 Governor of Bulacan Province - Pablo Tecson (Pablo Ocampo Tecson) of San Miguel, Bulacan.

El Nido, Palawan, Philippines Group Trip March 2015 HD
We partied all night long on Cadlao Island during a camping trip, while discovering that Tanduay Mojito tastes like mouthwash. The visibility during our scuba dives with Submariner wasn't the best, but the amazing snorkeling we found elsewhere made up for it.
Compiled with footage from 5 cameras: GoPro Hero 3, GoPro Hero 3+ x 2 , iPhone 6, Lumix Point & Shoot. Snake River Prototyping Red & Macro Filters when underwater.
Thanks to Windell from www.submariner-diving.com/ for showing us a great time underwater.

What I Learned is a travel show about colorful people and curious situations. Hosted by Jason Tongen (aka JT), the show consists of unique observations, unconventional perspective, and often explores a destination’s counter-culture. We see that no matter where our travels take us, there is always something to be learned.

My Trip to the Philippines. Manila and Subic TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY 2014.
Not knowing very much about the Philippines before I visited, I was pleasantly surprised by Manila and Subic and how they both reminded me of America. The highlight of the trip was getting a chance to visit a Vietnamese boat people refugee camp near Baataan. I met some friendly Pinoys too. The food was great. The transportation readily available. And the landscape extremely beautiful. There are plenty to see and do as well.

I certainly understand that a lotta people don't want to plan their vacations too much, wanna be a bit more spontaneous, wanna rock n roll. I understand it, I do it myself, but you want to plan a few things.

Living Amid Graves & Bones: The Philippines' Cemetery Slums
