Map
Namanga is a town in Kenya, lying on the border with Tanzania. It is in Kajiado District, Rift Valley Province. It is around 130 kilometers from Arusha, Tanzania. Namanga's economy is heavily dependent on tourism as tourists visiting the nearby Amboseli National Park passes though the town from Nairobi. Nairobi is 200 kilometers from Namanga. Mount Kilimanjaro can be seen from Namanga town. The nearby Ol Doinyo Orok mountain, also known as Namanga Hills is located northwest of Namanga town. Namanga's longitude is S 2°32'39.8" and longitude E 36°47'20.2". The town has an urban population of 5500 (1999 census [1]).

Its finally a huge relief for Kitengela residents as the National Highway Authority erected speed bumps along the Namanga road. The road had been prone to accidents and according to residents many had lost their lives to reckless. Many of the accidents that killed or maimed hundreds had been a common occurrence, but that was no more, the bumps had been erected from Kitengela town stretching beyond to all the black spots. Police were now urging motorists to be vigilant when driving along the road and be aware of all road signs in order to reduce further accidents. The maiden Outfit program will take us to Namanga town, south of Nairobi on the Tanzanian border.Ol Donyo Orok, also known as Namanga Hill, soars to an elevation of 2,548m above sea level.The hill is a natural forest with largely unexploited vegetation. The vegetation gets thicker as the trail wounds its way higher up the mountain along Namanga River. At some places higher up, the trail opens up into clearings from where views of the town below, the distant Mt Longido, and Mt Kilimanjaro about 65km away are a sight to behold. We enjoy sumptuous lunch after descending from the hill before transferring to Nairobi later in the evening. -

We enjoy sumptuous lunch after descending from the hill before transferring to Nairobi later in the evening. -

More than 100 motorists have been arrested for not fastening their safety belts in an on-going road safety campaign on Namanga road. The National Transport and Safety Agency officers, in collaboration with the Kitengela police station traffic officers, erected a roadblock on the Namanga road near Kitengela town where the operation is being carried out. Drivers caught without their seat belts on were issued with a 500-shilling cash bail, which they paid at Kitengela Police Station. More than 100 motorists have been arrested for not fastening their safety belts in an on-going road safety campaign on Namanga road. The National Transport and Safety Agency officers, in collaboration with the Kitengela police station traffic officers, erected a roadblock on the Namanga road near Kitengela town where the operation is being carried out. Drivers caught without their seat belts on were issued with a 500-shilling cash bail, which they paid at Kitengela Police Station.

More than 30 motorists have been penalized and some vehicles impounded for speeding and other traffic offenses in Mariakani along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway. Most of the drivers were fined between KShs 5, 000 to KShs 10, 000 for driving unroadworthy vehicles. The National Transport and Safety Authority mounted the operation. Most of the victims were travelling to and from Mombasa after the New Year celebrations. NTSA deputy director Cosmas Ngeso says the stringent traffic rules have reduced road carnage by up to 10%. NTSA mounts operation along Mombasa-Nairobi highway, 30 motorists penalized

More than 30 motorists have been penalized and some vehicles impounded for speeding and other traffic offenses in Mariakani along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway. Most of the drivers were fined between KShs 5, 000 to KShs 10, 000 for driving unroadworthy vehicles. The National Transport and Safety Authority mounted the operation. Most of the victims were travelling to and from Mombasa after the New Year celebrations. NTSA deputy director Cosmas Ngeso says the stringent traffic rules have reduced road carnage by up to 10%.

Ngong Hills Hike by Kenya Outdoors

Take on the great outdoors this new year with a hike up the majestic Ngong Hills and be rewarded with a killer view at the top...plus a visit to epic Olepolos Country Club for a relaxing swimming.
This hike takes about 3 to 5 hour to complete.
The first kilometer from Ngong Police Station is a gradual ascent through human settlements until you get to a barrier indicating the start of the Ngong Hills forest reserve.
From here on, you go past a wind farm, before climbing the first steep hill leading to an area populated with Radio repeater station masts.
The trail thins out and descends into a trough before emerging on to the next steep hill. Just when you think the worst is over, the rolling hills seem to keep popping up, with each taking its toll on you.
Thankfully, the views all round are magnificent, making the effort worthwhile. On a lucky day, you are likely to encounter buffaloes around the fourth hill, on account of the abundant bushes at these higher altitudes on the range.
To your right is a fantastic view of the Great Rift Valley, while on the far left is a view of the City of Nairobi.
We will then proceed to Oletepes Country Club on Magadi rd where you can have extra lunch (Choma) and refreshments,swimming an affordable extra cost)

The maiden Outfit program will take us to Namanga town, south of Nairobi on the Tanzanian border.Ol Donyo Orok, also known as Namanga Hill, soars to an elevation of 2,548m above sea level.The hill is a natural forest with largely unexploited vegetation. The vegetation gets thicker as the trail wounds its way higher up the mountain along Namanga River. At some places higher up, the trail opens up into clearings from where views of the town below, the distant Mt Longido, and Mt Kilimanjaro about 65km away are a sight to behold.
