Patrick Lambie is a professional rugby union player who plays for the Natal Sharks in the Currie Cup and Super Rugby. He attended school at Clifton Preparatory in Durban before attending Michaelhouse from 2004–2008. He represented his country at the schoolboy level for his last two years of school. He was head boy and captained both the rugby and cricket team in his final year at Michaelhouse.

Lambie is capable of playing flyhalf, centre and fullback, and was the leading points scorer in the 2009 ABSA u21 Currie Cup^{[citation needed]} despite only turning 19 later that year. He represented South Africa at the u20 level when he was selected for the squad, and was utilized extensively as the first choice fullback during the 2010 u20 World Cup in Argentina.^{[citation needed]}

Lambie broke into the Sharks senior team set up in the 2010 Super 14 season, where his debut was spent in the fullback position. He was shifted to centre in the 2010 Currie Cup and due to injury was required to fill the flyhalf birth. Due to his natural talent and unwavering nerve he made the position his own and was integral in helping the Sharks reach Currie Cup success in 2010, including scoring two tries, three conversions and three penalties in the Sharks' 30-10 win over Western Province in the final of the tournament. He was awarded with the "Man of the Match" award in the Currie Cup final. Lambie was also the second highest point scorer in the Currie Cup.

Hosea Gear (born 16 March 1984) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He plays for the Highlanders in Super Rugby as a wing. He has played eight international matches for New Zealand and scored five tries. His two most recent tries came against Wales in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium helping the All Blacks to their fourth ever Grand Slam tour of the Northern Hemisphere in 2010.

The younger brother of New Zealand wing Rico Gear, he was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. He attended Gisborne Boys' High School and he plays for the Hutt Old Boys-Marist rugby club. He is of the Ngati Porou Iwi.

He has played 25 Super 12/14 matches and has scored 7 tries. He also used to play for Massey Rugby Club in 2004. He currently holds the record for most tries in a provincial season with 14 in the 2008 Air New Zealand Cup. He has played for the New Zealand Maori. After his outstanding performance for Wellington in the 2008 Air New Zealand Cup, he was chosen for the All Blacks to tour Hong Kong and Europe on 26 October 2008 and made his debut against Australia in the Bledisloe Cup on 1 November. In 2010 Gear made his Rugby Sevens debut in the 2010 Commonwealth Games for New Zealand and was chosen for the All Blacks end of year tour. After an injury to Cory Jane, Gear was given a starting spot against England, a game in which he scored the first try. The following week vs Scotland Gear once again scored the first try and then went on later to score another in the All Blacks 49–3 win. Again Gear scored the first Try in the All Blacks vs Wales game, also going on to score another to top off a great international year.
