The nuclear program of Iran was launched in the 1950s with the help of the United States as part of the Atoms for Peace program. The participation of the United States and Western European governments in Iran's nuclear program continued until the 1979 Iranian Revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran.
After the 1979 revolution, the Iranian government temporarily disbanded elements of the program, and then revived it with less Western assistance than during the pre-revolution era. Iran's nuclear program has included several research sites, two uranium mines, a research reactor, and uranium processing facilities that include three known uranium enrichment plants.
After delays, Iran's first nuclear power plant, Bushehr I reactor was complete with major assistance of Russian government agency Rosatom and officially opened on 12 September 2011. Iran has announced that it is working on a new 360 MW nuclear power plant to be located in Darkhovin. Iran has also indicated that it will seek more medium-sized nuclear power plants and uranium mines in the future.
Iran (i/ɪˈrɑːn/ or /aɪˈræn/;Persian: ایران [ʔiˈɾɒn] (listen)), officially the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: جمهوری اسلامی ایران Jomhuri-ye Eslāmi-ye Irān), is a country in Southern and Western Asia. The name "Iran", which in Persian means "Land of the Aryans", has been in use natively since the Sassanian era. It came into use internationally in 1935, before which the country was known to the Western world as Persia (/ˈpɜrʒə/ or /ˈpɜrʃə/). Both "Persia" and "Iran" are used interchangeably in cultural contexts; however, "Iran" is the name used officially in political contexts.
The 18th-largest country in the world in terms of area at 1,648,195 km2 (636,372 sq mi), Iran has a population of around 79 million. It is a country of particular geopolitical significance owing to its location in the Middle East and central Eurasia. Iran is bordered on the north by Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. As Iran is a littoral state of the Caspian Sea, which is an inland sea, Kazakhstan and Russia are also Iran's direct neighbors to the north. Iran is bordered on the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan, on the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, on the west by Iraq and on the northwest by Turkey. Tehran is the capital, the country's largest city and the political, cultural, commercial and industrial center of the nation. Iran is a regional power, and holds an important position in international energy security and world economy as a result of its large reserves of petroleum and natural gas. Iran has the second largest proven natural gas reserves in the world and the fourth largest proven petroleum reserves.
Morgan Freeman was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Mayme Edna (née Revere), a teacher, and Morgan Porterfield Freeman, a barber who died April 27, 1961, from cirrhosis. He has three older siblings. Freeman was sent as an infant to his paternal grandmother in Charleston, Mississippi. His family moved frequently during his childhood, living in Greenwood, Mississippi; Gary, Indiana; and finally Chicago, Illinois. Freeman made his acting debut at age 9, playing the lead role in a school play. He then attended Broad Street High School, later named Threadgill Elementary School, in Mississippi. At age 12, he won a statewide drama competition, and while still at Broad Street High School, he performed in a radio show based in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1955, he graduated from Broad Street, but turned down a partial drama scholarship from Jackson State University, opting instead to work as a mechanic in the United States Air Force.

In return for lifting the sanctions, which means more than $110 billion a year relief for Tehran and a return to the global economic market, Iran will be significantly constrained in its nuclear programme. This is the framework agreement, meaning the formal deal will be signed before July 1st. Over the next three months, the technical details will have to be worked out, but what does the Iranian nuclear deal really mean?

Obama: Iran Nuke Deal Makes Our Country, World Safer
President Barack Obama fiercely defended the historic nuclear deal with Iran as he faced White House reporters Wednesday at a news conference.
"The bottom line is this. This nuclear deal meets the national security interest of the United States and our allies," the president said. "It prevents the most serious threat, Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon, which would only make the other problems that Iran may cause even worse. That's why this deal makes our country and the world safer and more secure."

While a record number of Americans were tuned in to the FOX News Republican debate, something noteworthy happened: Powerful and influential Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer came out against Obama's nuclear deal with Iran.
Ezra Levant of TheRebel.media explains why this is such an important development. In Canadian terms, this would be like Jason Kenney announcing why he was going to vote against one of Harper's bills.
Schumer says the deal's inspection provisions are a joke, and Iran can't be trusted. He proposes alternatives, too. This gave other Democrats cover to come out against the deal too. It also matters that Schumer is Jewish.

US Military NASTY SURPRISE for Iran military nuclear sites
A great video of us military testing a bomb that could be used against Iran military. The United States Armed Forces[N 1] are the federal military forces of the United States. They consist of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard.[7] The United States has a strong tradition of civilian control of the military. The President of the United States is the military's overall head, and helps form military policy with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), a federal executive department, acting as the principal organ by which military policy is carried out. The DoD is headed by the Secretary of Defense, who is a civilian and Cabinet member. The Defense Secretary is second in the military's chain of command, just below the President, and serves as the principal assistant to the President in all DoD-related matters.[8] To coordinate military action with diplomacy, the President has an advisory National Security Council headed by a National Security Advisor. Both the President and Secretary of Defense are advised by a seven-member Joint Chiefs of Staff, which includes the head of each of the Defense Department's service branches as well as the chief of the National Guard Bureau. Leadership is provided by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.[9] The Commandant of the Coast Guard is not a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
All of the branches work together during operations and joint missions, under the Unified Combatant Commands, under the authority of the Secretary of Defense with the exception of the Coast Guard, which is under the administration of the Department of Homeland Security and receives its operational orders from the Secretary of Homeland Security. However, the Coast Guard may be transferred to the Department of the Navy by the President or Congress during a time of war.[10] All five armed services are among the seven uniformed services of the United States, the two others being the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (under the Department of Health and Human Services) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps (under the Department of Commerce).
From the time of its inception, the military played a decisive role in the history of the United States. A sense of national unity and identity was forged as a result of victory in the First Barbary War and the Second Barbary War. Even so, the Founders were suspicious of a permanent military force and not until the outbreak of World War II did a large standing army become officially established. The National Security Act of 1947, adopted following World War II and during the Cold War's onset, created the modern U.S. military framework; the Act merged previously Cabinet-level Department of War and the Department of the Navy into the National Military Establishment (renamed the Department of Defense in 1949), headed by the Secretary of Defense; and created the Department of the Air Force and National Security Council.
The U.S. military is one of the largest militaries in terms of number of personnel. It draws its manpower from a large pool of paid volunteers; although conscription has been used in the past in various times of both war and peace, it has not been used since 1972. As of 2013, the United States spends about $554.2 billion annually to fund its military forces, and appropriates approximately $88.5 billion to fund Overseas Contingency Operations.[5] Put together, the United States constitutes roughly 39 percent of the world's military expenditures. For the period 2010-14, SIPRI found that the United States was the world's biggest exporter of major arms, accounting for 31 per cent of global shares. The United States was also the world's eight largest importer of major weapons for the same period.[11] The U.S. Armed Forces has significant capabilities in both defense and power projection thanks to its advanced and powerful equipment and its widespread deployment of force around the world.

The history of the U.S. military dates to 1775, even before the Declaration of Independence marked the establishment of the United States. The Continental Army, Continental Navy, and Continental Marines were created in close succession by the Second Continental Congress in order to defend the new nation against the British Empire in the American Revolutionary War.
These forces demobilized in 1784 after the Treaty of Paris ended the War for Independence. The Congress of the Confederation created the United States Army on 3 June 1784, and the United States Congress created the United States Navy on March 27, 1794, and the United States Marine Corps on July 11, 1798. All three services trace their origins to the founding of the Continental Army (on 14 June 1775), the Continental Navy (on 13 October 1775)

After 42 hours overtime, the Iran nuclear negotiations with the United States, Russia, China, France, Great Britain and Germany reached a framework deal in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Terrified Conservatives Furious Over Iran Nuclear Deal
Conservative opposition to the recent Iran nuclear deal has reached the Senate and the streets of New York City. In the Senate, John Kerry vociferously defended the deal against Republican critics. Also, a few thousand New Yorkers took to the streets with signs protesting the deal. TYT hosts John Iadarola (Think Tank) and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show) break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"Kerry cautioned against viewing the matter through the lens of just the US. The other world powers involved in the deal, he said, were “not dumb”.
“They’re experts – every one of them,” he said.
The choice, Kerry added, was between an agreement “that will ensure Iran’s nuclear agreement is limited, rigorously scrutinized and fully peaceful, or no deal at all”.”*

Under pressure from finite fossil fuel reserves and scrutiny from the West, Iran's Nuclear program has had a difficult road. This is the story of Iranian nuclear energy told from the other side.
"Iran has tried its best to have a pragmatic approach, not an ambitious approach", claims the country's ambassador to the IAEA, Ali Asghar Soltanieh. But are all such claims destined to fall on deaf ears? A climate of suspicion and hostility has historically smothered any meaningful discussion of Iran's right to nuclear technologies. The West accuse Iran of creating a 'confidence deficit' by pursuing a clandestine programme of enrichment; Iran sense hypocrisy, and claim to be singled out. "There are similar cases with Taiwan, with Egypt, with Brazil, and all of these countries get away with it." Ultimately, all parties acknowledge that a system that enshrines the right of the powerful to bend the rules is unsustainable. "The whole of the non-proliferation regime has elements of double-standards built into it", concedes David Hannay, a member of the House of Lords. But will this consensus signal a move beyond the rhetoric to purposeful negotiation? "Iran has an opportunity to become the good boy of the world."

Congressman Bob Dold: "Congress must reject the Iran nuclear deal"
Congressman Bob Dold says the greatest threat to national security in the United States is a nuclear Iran. He urges that Congress must reject the Iran nuclear deal. He says that the nuclear agreement with Iran won’t prevent it from achieving a nuclear weapon, it preserves it. Will the Iran nuclear deal further destabilize the Middle East and increase the threat to the United States and its allies? If you agree, support the Congressman’s opinion here: http://www.pressreader.com/opinion/congress-must-reject-the-iran-nuclear-deal

President Obama Iran Nuclear Deal Press Conference July 15, 2015 [FULL]
Obama: Iran Nuke Deal Makes Our Country, World Safer
President Barack Obama fiercely defended the historic nuclear deal with Iran as he faced White House reporters Wednesday at a news conference.
"The bottom line is this. This nuclear deal meets the national security interest of the United States and our allies," the president said. "It prevents the most serious threat, Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon, which would only make the other problems that Iran may cause even worse. That's why this deal makes our country and the world safer and more secure."

Six world powers, including the United States, reached the deal on Tuesday. It aims to limit Iran's nuclear capability in exchange for lifting punishing economic sanctions. Obama has said the deal eliminates every pathway to an Iranian nuclear weapon.
The president is also keenly aware that it will take work to convince U.S. lawmakers, especially those who have expressed deep skepticism, to support the agreement.
"I expect the debate to be robust, as it should be," the president said on Wednesday.
During the press conference, the president referred to notes and dissected point by point the type of criticism leveled at the deal since it was announced. He also said that critics of the deal have not presented a better alternative and indicated that he was ready for an engaged conversation on the matter.
"I suspect this is not the last we've heard of this debate," the president said.

The deal still faces a vote in Congress, although it is unclear whether Republicans and some Democrats who object to the deal will actually be able to override the decision — and Obama threatened Tuesday to veto any attempt to reject the accord.
Republicans have said it amounts to appeasement of a dangerous regime. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a presidential candidate, said on TODAY that the deal was like throwing gasoline on a fire.
After House Democrats emerged from a briefing Wednesday morning with Vice President Joe Biden, New York Democrat Rep. Steve Israel said he is a "skeptic" of the agreement, but will take the entire 60-day review period to figure out if this deal is worth supporting.
"I think the vice president made as convincing of an argument as he can make, but I think there are a lot of questions to be answered," Israel said. "I had been skeptical from the beginning of this. I am still skeptical. I read the Joint Comprehensive plan of action last night and there was nothing in it to relieve my skepticism."
Israeli leadership has been more blunt in its criticism.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel told Lester Holt that Iran "has two paths to the bomb: One if they keep the deal, the other if they cheat on the deal."
The agreement involves limiting Iran's nuclear production for 10 years and Tehran's access to nuclear fuel and equipment for 15 years in return for hundreds of millions of dollars in sanctions relief.
However, the sanctions would not be lifted until Iran proves to the International Atomic Energy Agency that it has met its obligations under the terms of the deal. The agreement also includes the provision of a "snap back" mechanism that could lead to the reinstatement of sanctions within 65 days if Iran violates the terms of the deal, according to officials.
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed Iran also has signed a roadmap with his organization to clarify outstanding issues.
The agreement also makes no mention of the four Americans who have been held in Iran for years.
Nuclear and foreign policy experts say that while the agreement isn't perfect it is the best option on the table right now.
"The deal will happen," said David Rothkopf, a former Clinton administration official and editor of Foreign Policy Group, a collection of foreign policy publications. " Congress can't stop it. So its critics ought to start focusing on how to make it work in the context of a broader strategy rather than simply trying to score political points."

Schumer to vote against Obama's nuclear deal with Iran

The Atlantic Council's Iran Task Force invites you to a discussion with the Ambassadors of Britain, France and Germany about the role of the “E-3” in negotiating a nuclear agreement with Iran, and the implications of a comprehensive long-term deal for European relations with Iran.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1) appear to be on track to reach a comprehensive nuclear agreement by a June 30 deadline. If negotiations succeed, they will reflect the role of three European countries – Britain, France and Germany – which began engaging Iran about its nuclear program more than a decade ago. The E-3 ambassadors in Washington will discuss the history of the talks, the role their countries played, and the outlook beyond June 30.
The Iran Task Force, chaired by Ambassador Stuart E. Eizenstat, seeks to perform a comprehensive analysis of Iran’s internal political landscape, its role in the region and globally, and any basis for an improved relationship with the West. It is supported generously by the Ploughshares Fund.

The US says its position has always been, that sanctions would be lifted gradually, to ensure Iran follows through with its commitments to reduce its uranium stockpile.
But the remarks by the Iranian Supreme leader show world leaders may not be as close to a final agreement as they had led people to believe.
So has this agreement been oversold? Or, are all sides just manoeuvering ahead of a final deadline in June?

US President Barack Obama is trying to convince Congress that Iran nuclear deal will create a safer world.
The message was delivered Obama in a bid to seek support before a vote in Congress this week.
Iran nuclear deal with six major powers-consisting of the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, Germany and Iran-are contained in a document as thick as 159 pages to be completed this week after a long discussion in Vienna.
But for the United States, before coming into effect, the contents of this agreement must be approved by Congress. Some Republican members of Congress have said they would reject Iran nuclear deal that infuriated Israeli.
"You will hear a lot of arguments fierce and often dishonest in the weeks ahead," Obama said in his weekly address on Saturday.
Obama insists the deal will close all access to the Iranian nuclear weapons. The world also can supervise constantly all major Iranian nuclear facilities.
International inspectors also gain access to Iran's nuclear supply chain. If one of the Tehran violated the content of the agreement, sanctions will take effect immediately returned.
"We will do anything to stop it," said John Boehner, a spokesman for the Congress of the Republican Party.
The chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Senate of the Republic who would like to hear further argument on this issue.
Many other Republicans who called the deal as "one of the worst failure of American diplomacy" or "strengthen the Iranian regime's crimes".
But former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton assured the Obama administration has taken the appropriate steps.

PROSPECTS FOR IRAN
After a long-lasting marathon talks, Iran and the P5+ 1 countries, consisting of the US, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany agreed on a final nuclear deal on July 14 in Vienna. The deal suggests Iran to curb its nuclear programme in exchange with the removal of UN sanctions and arms embargo over the country. By the implementation of the agreement, Iran will enable to get rid of its long isolation caused by the financial-economic sanctions. It also promises Tehran to release more than 100 billion dollars worth of its assets around the world. In brief, the nuclear agreement is said to accelerate Iranian economic boom by doubling the country’s oil exportation in one year. However, the agreement is also expected to create a nationalist blow in domestic politics since it enforces Iran to open its civil and military nuclear sites to the full access of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors. The IAEA investigation of Iran’s nuclear sites as well as Tehran’s compliance with its international partners will serve as a litmus test in terms of feasibility of the final agreement in the short term.
REGIONAL REPERCUSSIONS
A final nuclear deal might be said to provide Tehran a legitimate base in relations with its Middle Eastern neighbours, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel which have been essentially opposing a nuclear armed Iran. On the other hand, Iran may further increase political and military presence by using its already surging geopolitical influence in the region. With a Western support derived from the nuclear settlement, Iran is expected to enhance its bargaining power regarding the crises in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan. Moreover, the lifting of economic sanctions might whack up commercial rivalry on the oil price mechanism with Saudi Arabia which has long been using such comparative advantage as a political tool against Iran. Meanwhile, Turkey can be very likely one of the main winners in the lack of Western sanctions imposed on Iran since both countries were eager to boost commercial ties in the recent years. In this sense, Iran is also expected to sell its energy resources via Turkey en route to Europe. However, Israel’s nihilist political discourse considering a nuclear deal with Iran still undermines the regional security as it triggers a conventional security dilemma between Tehran and Tel Aviv.
IRAN’S RE-INTEGRATION WITH THE WORLD
The final nuclear agreement will end a 12 years of stand-off between Tehran and the West. That is to say, Iran will be reintegrated to the global political-economic system which was interrupted by the 1979 Revolution. In this context, Iran and the US regard a final nuclear agreement could help easing the decades old political and military tensions that have soared since 1979 onwards. But both countries will be constrained as they needed a parliamentary approval of the nuclear deal. The Obama administration is said to come under pressure in the Republican-dominated US congress which must ratify the agreement in two month. On the other side, Iran’s radical political wing represented by foremost the supreme leader Ali Khamenei opposes a long-time suspension of nuclear programme and inspection of military sites which the deal entails Tehran. Iran is keen to mend its relations with Europe (EU) in the wake of nuclear deal, but its conventional partnership with both Russia and China limits a full-fledged cooperation with the West. If the nuclear deal is put into force, Iran’s security cooperation with Russia-China bloc can be expected to increase given the fact that both countries have been supplying weaponry to Tehran.

How the Iran nuclear deal works, explained in 3 minutes

The details of the of the 159-page report are terribly technical. But there are some important aspect of this deal that we've distilled into this 3-minute video.

The Iran Nuclear Deal
Is the nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran a good or bad deal? Would it be harder or easier for Iran to develop nuclear weapons? Would it make Iran and its terror proxies stronger or weaker? Should the U.S. Congress support or defeat the deal? Dennis Prager answers these questions and more.

US Military NASTY SURPRISE for Iran military nuclear sites
History[edit]
Main article: Military history of the United States

Iran's nuclear deal explained
Iran's nuclear deal explained
After 42 hours overtime, the Iran nuclear negotiations with the United States, Russia, China, France, Great Britain and Germany reached a framework deal in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Terrified Conservatives Furious Over Iran Nuclear Deal

The Debate - Iran's nuclear negotiations (Final day)
The Debate - Iran's nuclear negotiations (Final day)
Iran’s nuclear talks with the P5+1 group of countries appear to be in the final stretch. There have even been announcements that an agreement has been reached. These talks surely had many firsts.
The first time that a country to have fallen under chapter 7 will now be nullified and rolled back, and of course, the length of talks. In this edition of the debate, we’ll discuss why a deal has not happened at this juncture in time, and whether the West, and in particular the US, will be able to follow through with the commitments made on this deal.

Obama: Iran Nuclear Deal Making the World Safe
Obama: Iran Nuclear Deal Making the World Safe

Many other Republicans who called the deal as "one of the worst failure of American diplomacy" or "strengthen the Iranian regime's crimes".
But former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton assured the Obama administration has taken the appropriate steps.

TRT World - World in Focus: Iran Nuclear Deal
