Mafalda La Pelicula is an adaptation of a series of 260 90-second films, that were produced by Daniel Mallo for Argentine television starting in 1972. These were adapted into a full-length movie by Carlos Márquez in 1979 and released in 1981.It remains relatively unknown and currently copies of it are found at extortionate rates due to its' limited availability.

Se titula la historieta y salió a la venta el 22/09/2010 en Europa. Se trata de una historia de héroes que emprenden "un camino sin retorno hacia el infierno", con pocas poUn cómic francés titulado "Malvinas. El cielo pertenece a los halcones" está basado en el Grupo V de Caza de la Fuerza Aérea Argentina que libró batalla contra la flota británica en defensa de la soberanía de las islas en 1982.
La historia, que edita Paquet, con guión de Néstor Barron e ilustraciones de Walther Taborda, homenajea a los héroes que batallaron en el Atlántico Sur.
"Argentina y el Reino Unido se disputan la soberanía de las islas Malvinas en una guerra sin cuartel ", señala en la presentación del comic que sale a la venta desde hoy.
"Los pilotos argentinos despegan del continente para ir a bombardear la flota inglesa, sabiendo que sus reservas de combustible no les permitirán volver a aprovisionarse en la base", señala la editorial de la publicación.
Se trata de una historia de héroes que emprenden "un camino sin retorno hacia el infierno", con pocas posibilidades de sobrevivir.

From 1973 to 1976, Altuna collaborated with Fleetway, Ediciones Record, Charlton Comics, Playboy and the French Les Humanoïdes Associés.
In July 1975, in the daily newspaper El Clarín, Altuna with writer Carlos Trillo created the journalist character Hugo Chávez, better known as El loco Chavez, one of the Argentine's most popular comics strips. Also with Trillo, Altuna drew the series Charlie Moon and Las puertitas del señor López.
In 1982, Altuna moved to Sitges in Spain, drawing stories for the Editorial Toutain and short erotic stories for Playboy. Since February 2005, he has contributed the comic strip Familia Tipo in the newspaper El Periódico.

Argentine comics (locally known as historietas) are one of the most important comic traditions internationally, and the most important within Latin America, living its "Golden era" between the 1940s and the 1960s. Soon after, in 1970, the theorist Oscar Masotta synthesized its contributions in the development of their own models of action comics (Oesterheld, Hugo Pratt), humor comics (Divito, Quino) and folkloric comics (Walter Ciocca) and the presence of four great cartoonists (José Luis Salinas, Arturo Pérez del Castillo, Hugo Pratt and Alberto Breccia).
The first cartoons to appear in Argentina were editorial cartoons in political satire magazines at the end of the 19th century. These cartoons, originally single panels, quickly evolved to multiple panel constructions with sequential action. Many used methods such as text indicating dialogue emanating from the speaker's mouth, or text below the drawings for dialogue and explanation.
In the 1900s, comics continued to be largely political satire and commentary, but strips about normal life, called cuentos vivos (lively tales) began to appear. Text still frequently appeared below each drawing with dialogue or explanation. Comics continued to be published exclusively in magazines. Also during this time, translations of comics from the United States, such as Cocoliche (Happy Hooligan) by Frederick Burr Opper showed up in Argentina.

Sono cresciuto con le historietas argentine. Ricordo che quando ero piccolino prendevo di nascosto i Lanciostory di mio fratello, abbandonando il rassicurante universo di topi e paperi per l'inquietante neve che cadeva silenziosa su Buenos Aires. Fu un passaggio decisivo per l'evoluzione della mia storia di lettore delle tavole a quadretti. Tra gli autori che amavo di più, c'erano Carlos Trillo e Domingo Mandrafina. Del primo ricordo ancora con nostalgia soprattutto Robin delle stelle, Loco Chávez, Uscita di Sicurezza e Bruno Bianco, del secondo l'immenso Savarese. Sono cresciuto con le historietas argentine. Ricordo che quando ero piccolino prendevo di nascosto i Lanciostory di mio fratello, abbandonando il rassicurante universo di topi e paperi per l'inquietante neve che cadeva silenziosa su Buenos Aires. Fu un passaggio decisivo per l'evoluzione della mia storia di lettore delle tavole a quadretti.
Tra gli autori che amavo di più, c'erano Carlos Trillo e Domingo Mandrafina. Del primo ricordo ancora con nostalgia soprattutto Robin delle stelle, Loco Chávez, Uscita di Sicurezza e Bruno Bianco, del secondo l'immenso Savarese. Quando i due collaboravano, come in Spaghetti Bros, per me era una festa.
Purtroppo Carlos Trillo ci ha lasciati nel 2011, proprio mentre stava scrivendo La Guerra dei Maghi. Grazie all'eccellente lavoro di Roberto Dal Prà (di cui ricordo l'ottimo Jan Karta su Comic Art), siamo comunque in grado di leggere la storia ideata dal Maestro argentino.
Si tratta di una spy story venata di soprannaturale ambientata prima a Berlino e poi a Londra alla fine degli anni 30, con il mondo che si avviava a grandi passi verso la seconda guerra mondiale e l'incubo nazista che dilagava sul continente.
Bob e Charly sono due ex detective ebrei di Scotland Yard un po' attempati, che si detestano amabilmente perchè in passato amanti della stessa donna, quella Lili che ora è scomparsa e che la figlia Greta sta cercando disperatamente. Greta è anche figlia di uno dei due uomini, ma non sa di chi precisamente. Lili ha tramandato poteri magici alla figlia, ma se l'una è coraggiosa antagonista del nazionalsocialismo, l'altra serve le tenebre del terzo reich, giocando su fronti contrapposti quella Guerra dei Maghi che sembra destinata ad avere un grosso peso sulle sorti del conflitto, vedendo interessati direttamente anche Winston Churchill e Adolf Hitler.
La storia è raccontata con uno stile leggero e scanzonato che allevia la tragicità del periodo nella quale si svolge. In particolare il rapporto di amore/odio tra i due detective regala più di un momento spassoso. Per intenderci, se fosse stato un film, avrei visto bene quei mattacchioni di Jack Lemmon e Walter Matthau a interpretarli.
Domingo Mandrafina regala tavole stupende dagli splendidi colori, con squarci berlinesi e londinesi di rara bellezza e la consueta descrizione di personaggi fortemente caratterizzati ed espressivi, vera lezione grafica su come creare un contesto credibile e d'atmosfera.
Buona l'edizione Aurea con due cartonati appartenenti alla collana Aureacomix linea BD, 48 pagine per 9 euro e 90 ciascuno, che raggiungono la produzione francese di Delcourt. Speriamo dunque di leggere in un prossimo futuro la prosecuzione della vicenda.
Fa piacere una volta tanto leggere una semplice storia, scritta bene e ottimamente disegnata, senza significati nascosti, letture criptiche o oscure interpretazioni. Spesso alcuni autori mascherano dietro una patina elitaria un vuoto pneumatico di contenuti. Saper intrattenere - e raccontare una bella storia - non è facile e non è cosa da tutti. I maestri delle historietas lo sanno (e fanno) benissimo.

Sono cresciuto con le historietas argentine. Ricordo che quando ero piccolino prendevo di nascosto i Lanciostory di mio fratello, abbandonando il rassicurante universo di topi e paperi per l'inquietante neve che cadeva silenziosa su Buenos Aires. Fu un passaggio decisivo per l'evoluzione della mia storia di lettore delle tavole a quadretti.
Tra gli autori che amavo di più, c'erano Carlos Trillo e Domingo Mandrafina. Del primo ricordo ancora con nostalgia soprattutto Robin delle stelle, Loco Chávez, Uscita di Sicurezza e Bruno Bianco, del secondo l'immenso Savarese. Quando i due collaboravano, come in Spaghetti Bros, per me era una festa.
Purtroppo Carlos Trillo ci ha lasciati nel 2011, proprio mentre stava scrivendo La Guerra dei Maghi. Grazie all'eccellente lavoro di Roberto Dal Prà (di cui ricordo l'ottimo Jan Karta su Comic Art), siamo comunque in grado di leggere la storia ideata dal Maestro argentino.
Si tratta di una spy story venata di soprannaturale ambientata prima a Berlino e poi a Londra alla fine degli anni 30, con il mondo che si avviava a grandi passi verso la seconda guerra mondiale e l'incubo nazista che dilagava sul continente.

Los pilotos argentinos invaden las librerías francesas: sale a la venta el comic francés "Malvinas. El cielo pertenece a los halcones" que homenajea la lucha de los pilotos argentinos contra la flota británica en el Atlántico Sur.
Basado en los testimonios de pilotos argentinos, la historia de "Malouines. Le ciel appartient aux Faucons" alia la fuerza de los dibujos de Walther Taborda con un eficaz guión de Néstor Barron, ambos argentinos.
El comic se compone de cuatro tomos, todos centrados en la historia de un avión y las vivencias de los pilotos. El primero "Skyhawk", relata la batalla del Grupo V de Caza de la Fuerza Aérea Argentina que peleó por la soberanía de las islas en 1982.
El segundo llevará el nombre del avión de fabricación nacional "Pucará", el tercero "Mirage" o "Super Etendart". El cuarto "Sea Harrier", se centrará en la visión inglesa del conflicto.
"Los pilotos argentinos despegan del continente para ir a bombardear la flota inglesa, sabiendo que sus reservas de combustible no les permitirán volver a aprovisionarse en la base", señala la editorial, Paquet, en la reseña del libro.
Quería mostrar las cosas que hicieron, los sacrificios que hicieron los pilotos" explicó Taborda al sitio 24CON.
"Es un homenaje a los tipos que pusieron todo, pero mostrando el lado humano de los pilotos", agregó. El comic no oculta el "miedo de subir al avión" o los errores de los pilotos durante el "quilombo del combate".
El comic fue seleccionado en el "festival internacional de BD Aeronaútica" del aeropuerto de Le Bourget, cerca de París, para ser elegido vía voto del público a través de internet para el premio al mejor comic de aeronaútica.
