New Finding Nemo Sequel Details Revealed Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies There’s no news like Pixar news and it doesn’t get much better than an update on one of our favorite upcoming movie sequels coming from one of our favorite animation studios. Fans awaiting the upcoming Dory-themed sequel to Finding Nemo, aptly titled Finding Dory, have been dying to hear something through the seaweed vine, hoping to find out more on Dory’s whereabouts and how and why the blue tang fish is the one who gets lost this time. Now we’ve known for a bit the basic set up for Finding Dory – Dory is now living with Marlin and Nemo, we’re guessing in a weird roommate sort of way, and accompanies Nemo on a school field trip one day, presumably because it’s bring-your-mental-health-patient-roommate-to-school-day, but while out and about, the trip’s location unintentionally triggers memories for Dory that lead her to her family. That gave us plenty to wonder about originally – for example, is Dory’s memory still sketchy? She proved to herself and audiences in the first film that she can indeed remember things if she tries hard enough, so maybe she’s made progress with her cognitive skills in the months she’s spent living in the coral with Nemo and Marlin. But now we have new info to sink our teeth in to – Pixar president Jim Morris recently spoke to website Omelete and had a few Dory details to drop. The first new info we got from Morris is that the field trip Nemo and Dory go on is to watch manta rays migrating back home and this is what triggers the memories and a feeling of being homesick in Dory since she doesn’t know where she comes from. Morris went on to say most of the film will take place at the California Marine Biology Institute, a huge complex designed to rehabilitate and house sea life and this is where Dory was born and raised, but released back into the wild while still young. Morris also revealed some new characters would take the forms of an octopus, some sea lions, a beluga whale, and more. So perhaps the title of Finding Dory isn’t necessarily physical, like Finding Nemo literally was, but is more about finding Dory as a person and in her own personal history. That’s pretty deep, Pixar. Like the ocean. I like where your head’s at. Keep it up. In addition to Ellen DeGeneres returning as “Dory” and Albert Brooks reprising the voice of “Marlin”, the sequel will also include the voice talents of Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton as Dory’s parents and we can’t think of a better couple of actors to portray the extremes of Dory’s personality and what made her be her. We’ll have to wait until June 17th, 2016 to see Dory’s adventures on the big screen, but you can click here to find out which 8 animated sequels we think are the best.
