Leisure, or free time, is time spent away from business, work, and domestic chores. It is also the periods of time before or after necessary activities such as eating, sleeping and, where it is compulsory, education.
The distinction between leisure and unavoidable activities is loosely applied, i.e. people sometimes do work-oriented tasks for pleasure as well as for long-term utility. A distinction may also be drawn between free time and leisure. For example, Situationist International maintains that free time is illusory and rarely free; economic and social forces appropriate free time from the individual and sell it back to them as the commodity known as "leisure".
Leisure studies is the academic discipline concerned with the study and analysis of leisure.
Time for leisure varies from one society to the next, although anthropologists have found that hunter-gatherers tend to have significantly more leisure time than people in more complex societies. As a result, band societies such as the Shoshone of the Great Basin came across as extraordinarily lazy to European colonialists.
Washed Out is the stage name of the American electronic musician Ernest Greene (born in 1983, Perry, Georgia).
After earning an undergraduate degree from the The University of Georgia, Greene graduated in 2009 with a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of South Carolina and was unable to find a job as a librarian. Greene moved back home to the rural town of Perry, Georgia and started producing songs in his bedroom studio. He soon won the favor of a number of influential music bloggers after they found his music on his MySpace page. His style has been identified with the Chillwave movement. He has identified hip hop as influencing the way he writes songs. The first two Washed Out EPs were released in August and September 2009. Washed Out made his debut New York City performance (his second live show ever) at Santos Party House. He has since performed at the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival and his song "Feel it All Around" is featured in the opening sequence of the TV series Portlandia.
Got time to spend, nothing fancy that requires the
system.
Makes me forget and not to regret the things i´ve done.
Go to the country side,
have a great experiance with my dear friends.
Not to think of present times or wollow in past acions.
My recreation is important to me,
it gets me to some better things.
All you got is leisure to numb the structure of your
life.
Find your passion!

Leisure
They taught me how to work,
But they can't teach me how to shirk correctly.
As you see,
Science once again robs us of our jobs.
They've put a micro-chip in my place,
I hide behind screen of aggression nowadays,
It's just a way of saving some face.
So now I'm permanently drunk,
Like the rest of the race with,
Leisure.
If you think I'm clowning,
I assure you that I'm drowning here in,
Leisure
They taught me how to work,
But they can't teach me how to shirk correctly.
I spend all day,
And all my allowance on T.V. games.
Amusement heaven at the flick of a switch.
Instead of a lathe I busy my fingers nowadays,
By scoring goals with the gentlest twitch.
I've forgotten how to use my legs to invade the pitch.
Leisure
If you think I'm clowning,
I assure you that I'm drowning here in,
Leisure
They taught me how to work,
But they can't teach me how to shirk correctly.
They had retired me 'fore I left school,
(just saw no point in the standing in line)
So I spend lots of time lounging at home,
(why not come in 'cos the carpet is fine)
What a waste of breath it is,
Searching for the jobs that don't exist.
So now I'm permanently drunk,
Like the rest of the race with,
Leisure.
If you think I'm clowning,
I assure you that I'm drowning here in,
Leisure
They taught me how to work,
But they can't teach me how to shirk correctly.
Lazybones, looking through The Sun
How'd you ever expect to find your day's work ...?
Mr briggs is on holiday
But he stays in his room
He's too cold to go out for his evening smoke
The lady down the hallway
Is deaf and dumb to what you say
She's too busy dreaming of chihuahua dog
Say goodbye
Slowly drift away
To somewhere
Mr briggs needs sleep now
He's been up for a week
He can hear a buzz buzz buzzing in his head
He has a three-bar heater
But it can't keep him warm
If he bought another then he'd have three more
Say goodbye
Slowly drift away
To somewhere
Mr briggs while on holiday
Never left his bed
Walked around in circles but only in his head
The lady down the hallway
Is running out of pills
She could pull herself together but she knows she never will
Say goodbye
Somewhere
