District courts are a category of courts which exists in several nations. These include:
District Court is the name given to the intermediate court in most Australian States. They hear indictable (serious) criminal offences excluding treason, murder and, in some States, manslaughter. Their civil jurisdiction is also intermediate, typically being for civil disputes where the amount claimed is greater than a $75 000 but less than $750 000. The limits vary between Australian States. In Victoria, the equivalent Court is called the County Court. Below them is the Magistrates' Courts, known as the Local Court in New South Wales. Above them are the State Supreme Courts.
Finland has 61 district courts (käräjäoikeus/tingsrätt), which deal with criminal cases, civil cases and petitionary matters. Each court is headed by the Chief Judge and other District Judges. In certain cases, the district court may also have Lay Judges. The cases are handled and resolved either in a session or in chambers. In simple cases decisions can be made by notaries.
Youth suicide is when a young person deliberately ends his or her own life. Rates of attempted and completed youth suicide in Western societies are high. For example, in Australia suicide is second only to motor vehicle accidents as the leading cause of death for people aged 15–24, and according to the National Institute for Mental Health, suicide is the third leading cause of death among teens in the United States. It is a much bigger problem in other countries: in India, one-third of suicides are young people 15–29. In 2002, 154,000 suicides were recorded in India.
According to research carried out by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian in 2007, 39% of all youth suicides are completed by young people who have lost someone of influence or significance to them to suicide. The Commission terms this suicide contagion and makes several recommendations as to the importance of safe guarding young people and communities from suicide contagion.
In 2011 the Australian Federal Parliament Standing Committee for Health and Ageing Inquiry into Youth Suicide met in a round table forum with young representatives from three organisations at the forefront of preventing youth suicide, including Sunnykids, Inspire, and Boys Town. The Standing Committee has since released a discussion paper highlighting the findings of their inquiry and will seek to make final recommendations on the most effective means for reducing youth suicide at the conclusion of their inquiry.

On 05/08/15 I was filming the outside of the US District Court Northern District of New York. Around the back side I came across this security guard. I barely said 2 words to this guy before he started going crazy. I have had cops in my face and I have had dozens of correction guards in my face, but this guy was scarier then all them put together. He had the crazy eyes going, throwing punches and swearing at me like he hated me. I do not know if the Court Officers are subcontracting the intimidation or what. This might be a new tactic to stop people from filming. You be the judge.

In district court this morning, Keene Police prosecutor Jean Kilham seemed to be suggesting that because Derrick J was laughing during proceedings that he doesn’t deserve the right to concealed carry a gun. Derrick was clearly laughing at the absurdity of the violence brought against him during his Victimless Crime Spree, which was detailed in witness testimony today.
Derrick J’s attorney, Free State Project participant and former FSP vice president Evan Nappen, is known among defense attorneys in New Hampshire as the go-to guy for gun rights cases. Nappen did a fine job today and Derrick seemed very pleased with how he argued the case.
The Keene police argued that Derrick J is “unsuitable” to conceal carry, the big loophole word in the state’s “shall-issue” statute. While simultaneously admitting that it’s fully legal for Derrick J to carry a gun openly, they claim that due to a record of victimless “crimes”, alleged cannabis use, and suggested affiliations with violent groups, that Derrick J should be prohibited from concealing.
Derrick J took the stand and told the story of his Victimless Crime Spree. It was made clear that he is an activist dedicated to peace. In fact, Derrick is the host of Peace News Now, heard twice a week on LRN.FM.
Burke ends the hearing and retires for the holiday weekend with a DVD of Derrick J’s Victimless Crime Spree as part of the evidence in the case. Perhaps he will sit down with the family this holiday weekend and watch the movie that he helped make possible.
Probably one of the most outrageous scenes in the documentary is when Burke has Cop Block’s Ademo Freeman arrested and charged with a felony that is later dropped. All Ademo was doing was asking Burke questions on video.
Since then, Burke has mellowed out and issued some freedom-friendly rulings, including the overturning of illegal, unconstitutional trespass notices from the folks calling themselves the “City of Keene” and the Sheriff. Stay tuned here to Free Keene for the latest on this case as it develops.

Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd is back behind bars only a week after being sentenced on drug and threatening to kill charges in New Zealand.
The 61-year-old rocker has been arrested and is being held in custody, lawyer Craig Tuck confirmed to AAP.
Rudd will be appearing in Tauranga District Court tomorrow morning, he said.
Media have reported that prostitutes were at Rudd's home when he was arrested on Saturday night, but Mr Tuck said he wouldn't make any further comments.
Bay of Plenty police said they couldn't comment on individual cases and wouldn't confirm the arrest.
Just over a week ago, the Rudd was sentenced at Tauranga District Court on Thursday to eight months' home detention, after he earlier admitted charges of threatening to kill and possessing methamphetamine and cannabis.
Rudd's being electronically monitored at his Tauranga waterside mansion and must also complete a rehabilitation program.
Rudd has filed an appeal against the sentence.

If you want to see where the problems of unaffordable housing and low wages and poor education play out every day, go to Detroit's 36th District Court
he first time I went to Detroit’s 36th District Court, I didn’t know the drill. Most people don’t know the drill the first time they go. A lawyer I’d met agreed to accompany me. He went in the side door, reserved for attorneys and court staff. I joined the long line at the main entrance, waiting to pass through the metal detectors and have my bag scanned. No cell phones, the guard told me. Put it in your car. I waved the lawyer back outside. He was due in court, and his car was blocks away. Give me the phone, he said. I’ll bring it in. I returned to the line. You can’t bring in that hair clip, the guard told me. Just throw it out, I said. I scooped my bag off the belt and joined the lawyer, who was standing where the entryway carpet meets the linoleum, near a line of people snaking through a rope maze, waiting to pay tickets. I was intimidated and upset, and I’d been at the 36th less than five minutes.
The lawyer and I rode the elevator up to the fourth floor, where he walked me to room 421. Room 421 is where people who are facing eviction, foreclosure, and other real-estate matters find out what courtroom to go to. They wait for their name to be called, and since there are a lot of cases, the wait can be long. Squeezed into the back corner was a small plastic table with four plastic chairs where children can play. On the wall, a sign, in large capital letters, admonished that NO STANDING is allowed. The six rows of black pleather chairs were all taken. Outside in the hallway, people sat on benches and the floor.
The 36th District Court occupies the Madison Center Building, which was built in the early 1980s in an architectural style that might be called Federal brutalist. A massive cement box that takes up a city block, it is 6 stories high and contains 32 courtrooms. All the floors look the same. No signs tell you where to go or how to figure out where to go. The hallways are long and have dirty beige walls, the only light coming from the smudged windows at either end. I escaped room 421, went into the bathroom, shut myself into one of the two cubicles with a lock, which barely held the beaten metal door closed, and took some deep breaths. I splashed some water on my face and realized there were no paper towels, just a hand dryer that barely functioned. I felt overdressed in a button-down shirt, and out of place, and I was.
But Mosby’s Judge Judy star turn was a portal to an alternate universe in another sense. It was another sample of a wholly imaginary version of our justice system as it is racially choreographed for the daytime-TV cameras. In this world, black plaintiffs like Mosby are treated respectfully, and win ready vindication. And still more strikingly, black judges preside over a disproportionate number of these people’s courts, dispensing out judgments that white and privileged petitioners must abide by. It takes but a cursory glance at the news headlines, and the course of legal history in this country, to realize that this is a nearly complete photographic negative of the actual state of things when it comes to the intersection race and procedural justice.
So when Mosby stepped forward for her post-verdict interview, it was more than a bit discombobulating to hear today’s besieged Charm City DA burbling in gratitude. “I tried to speak to the D.A., I’ve spoken to police officers, and finally Judge Judy,” the undergrad Mosby enthused. “She, finally, gave me justice!”

Ex-SKorean spy chief granted new trial by Supreme Court
South Korea’s Supreme Court has returned to a lower court a ruling that sentenced a former spy chief to three years jail for meddling in the 2012 election.
The court rejected Thursday evidence that resulted in the conviction earlier this year of Won Sei-hoon, who headed the National Intelligence Service from 2009 to 2013.
In February, the Seoul High Court had ruled that Won had “willfully neglected” a 780,000-post online campaign aimed at the rivals of victor South Korean President Park Geun-hye.
Lee Dong-myung, Won’s lawyer, was quoted by local news agency Yonhap as saying Thursday: "While it is disappointing that the court did not give a ruling today, we think it was a logical decision to deny the evidence submitted by prosecutors."
The Seoul High Court’s decision had overturned that by a district court last September that decided that Won only intervened in politics rather than the election itself. It had handed him a suspended prison term – prompting anger among political opponents.
Kim Young-keun, opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy spokesperson, had said at the time that the ruling “doesn’t make sense.”
Allegations concerning the online campaign had circulated before the 2012 vote, but intensified only after Park’s victory following a police recommendation to indict several officials.
Won, who was also recently jailed for receiving bribes, was among five NIS members to be subsequently indicted in June 2013.
In 2012, Park won the election against Moon Jae-in from the main opposition by just 3.5 percentage points despite the goings-on at the NIS.

Derrick J's Gun Rights Appeal @ Keene District Court
Derrick J's Gun Rights Appeal @ Keene District Court

G4S Security Guard Goes Crazy on 5/8/15 @ US District Court Northern District of New York.

There are only 2 Jurisdictions Authorized Under the Constitution for use in criminal cases.
1. COMMON LAW JURISDICTION: CORPUS DELECTI, or injured party must be shown here. The STATE CANNOT CLAIM TO BE THE INJURED PARTY here or the case must be moved to FEDERAL COURT!
2. ADMIRALTY or MILITARY TRIBUNAL: To be valid, a valid international contract that I am a party to must be shown. The only other way this type of jurisdiction is valid is if I were an ENEMY COMBATANT, in the MILITIA, or a member the MILITARY.

Judge Elizabeth Chandler ordered an immediate mental-health examination and transport to Eastern State Hospital in Lexington for a more thorough psychiatric assessment.
The cops had different plans. Later that night, an officer plucked the 31-year-old defendant from jail, drove him 50 miles to Louisville and bought him a one-way ticket to Florida.

Inter Partes Review vs District Court Litigation - Momentum Webinar
Ha Kung Wong, Partner at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto
New AIA post grant reviews at the USPTO have garnered attention in its seemingly alarming number of cancelled patent claims. It has thus far proven to be an increasingly popular venue for parties to challenge patents. This webinar looks at three reasons why IPRs may represent a paradigm shift in the fight over intellectual property rights: First, Federal Courts have been increasingly lenient in granting litigation stays when petitions for IPRs are granted (discussing the legal standard for granting a stay pre-AIA and post-AIA). Second, patent challengers face a significantly lower burden challenging claims at IPR proceedings compared to challenging invalidity in Art. III courts; this is apparent from the recent In re Baxter opinions. And finally, Federal Circuit review of PTAB cancellation of claims may be very deferential compared to district court determinations of invalidity. However, it’s not all bad news for patentees, as pitfalls of estoppel surround the use of IPRs. What does this all mean for the future of patent litigations? Tune in and find out!

AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd back behind bars

Judge Marilyn Milian loses her cool and shouting Man
Judge Marilyn Milian loses her cool and shouting Man
If you want to see where the problems of unaffordable housing and low wages and poor education play out every day, go to Detroit's 36th District Court
he first time I went to Detroit’s 36th District Court, I didn’t know the drill.
