Back in 2000 or 2001 the idea for the Stay Tuned show was conceived. The show itself was born out of an attempt to get the local cable company to video record a song or two from some of my musical friends and air the videos throughout the day on the local cable community television station. I figured that showing random music videos during the day would be a nice way to break up the static programing on the station at the time. The powers that be at that time liked the idea of putting the songs on the station but what they really wanted was an entire program. They asked me if I could produce one and I of course said yes. Why not? I had absolutely no experience at putting together a show or interviewing musicians . . . what could go wrong? After a little bit of talk and planning . . . Stay Tuned was born. I was totally green (and a bit thinner as you can see). I was a newbie to things like this and was learning as I went along. That being said, I still think we produced some incredible shows and featured some amazingly talented musicians. The cable company at the time (Adelphia) was eventually bought out by one of those large, heartless, money centered cable companies and after 6 or 7 years of producing shows, they pulled the plug. At which time, these tapes were buried in storage, never to be seen again. . . Or so I thought. I recently discovered a box of about 60 or 70 tapes and I'm working at digitizing the collection to share with all of you. I hope you enjoy them and I hope you discover a new musical favorite along the way. This program features Grammy winner, Tim O'Brien with Tim being accompanied by Dirk Powell. Tim has always been one of my favorite singer songwriters and musicians. His career and his musical taste is very eclectic but no matter what he does, he always amazes me.
