Plot
The series is a comedy that follows the misadventures of Gwen Morgan, a 35-year-old actress living in Los Angeles. The woman is a walking contradiction--she's intelligent, but naive (especially when it comes men) and she's a loyal friend, but can be self-centered and oblivious. Maggie and Martin are Gwen's twenty-something best friends. Both are geeks and sci-fi fans who can't go a day without making a reference to Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, etc. Since Gwen is a child of the 80's and seriously challenged when it comes to all things hip, the two have to work hard to keep her in the 21st century. Gwen is a magnet for drama, so they also do their best to keep her out of trouble. Recurring characters include Alistair McCrackin, a loud, irritable Scotsman. He's a genius with a weakness for women and always broke because of it. Not to be left out is an unnamed, ill-mannered video store clerk who turns out to be quite ubiquitous. He's the loser with ten dead-end jobs and he's everywhere. In the pilot episode, Gwen's 10-year acting career is still going nowhere and her personal life is no better. This is the day her life finally falls apart. The low-budget horror script (starring herself of course) that she's been working on since she moved to Los Angeles is suddenly gone and her hottie part-time bartender boyfriend just dumped her. Luckily, Gwen's two great friends, Maggie and Martin, stick by her side and help her in the quest to find her script, her boyfriend and herself.

Plot
The outlaw gangs are robbing the railroads and the Rangers cannot follow them when they move to New Mexico. So Kip decides to take a vacation to New Mexico and, as the Durango Kid, bring Cass and his gang back to justice. But Cass and his gang are killed at the bank in a double cross and Kip must still find the loot. For this, he enlists the help of Tex and Grubstake, although Grubstake does not know it.

Finding a man alone in the desert, Marshal Tom is relieved - of his horse, clothes and water. When he catches up to Raven, he finds him dying from drinking bad water. When he gets to Gunsight, everyone thinks that he is the outlaw Raven and he plays it out so that he can end lawlessness.

"Nevada" ('Buster Crabbe' (qv)) and "Weary" Pierce ('Syd Saylor' (qv))hijack the loot taken in a bank hold-up by Les Setter ('Harvey Stephens (I)' (qv)), and his gang. They escape from Sheriff Jim Henry Warner ('Lew Kelly' (qv)). U. S. government horse-buyer David Ward ('Purnell Pratt' (qv))is killed by Settler's men and Settler takes his papers and goes to the ranch of Blaine ('William Duncan (I)' (qv)) and asks for the horses Ward was to buy, promising payment from the government later. He also takes an interest in Ina Blaine ('June Martel' (qv)), much to the resentment of her sweetheart Ben Ide ('John Patterson (II)' (qv)). "Nevada" and "Weary" are hired for the horse round-up but Setter has them and Ben arrested on a fake charge. Wil the aid of the camp cook, Millie Moran ('Ruth Warren' (qv)) they escape and start in pursuit of Setter and his gang.

Plot
A wanted-fugitive, called "Nevada," is wounded by a pursuing posse of lawmen, and is left to die on the desert by his companion, Bill Hall. He is rescued by a young rancher, Ben Ide, who is in love with Ina Blaine, daughter of a neighboring rancher. While "Nevada" is recovering, he and Ina fall in love but, through his loyalty to Ben, he sends her away. Going home, Ina falls into the clutches of Bill Hall, now heading a gang of rustlers, but the real leader is Les Setter who is posing as an honest rancher, and he has designs on Ina himself.

4/28/2015 -- West Coast Volcanic Plumes in Nevada -- Dormant buttes vent -- Seen on RADAR

April 28, 2015 - A series of steamplumes erupted from the deserts of Nevada near the town of Cold Springs. Coming from an unnamed ancient volcanic field located SOUTH of the Naval reservation flanking the Highway passing through Middlegate NV, East of Reno. (could maybe be CO2 or SO2 but I don't think those gasses are normally visible on RADAR unless they are very thick) Full website post with screenshots of the event , and the RADAR feed seen in the video: http://dutchsinse.com/4282015-volcanoes-in-nevada-erupt-steam-plumes-weather-service-observing-the-event/ ________ These plumes should NOT to be confused with activity at the Naval range which actually is miles away from this location, half the state of Nevada is a test ground for the United States military. These plumes erupt directly off of the HIGHWAY area, and on private non-military land, which obviously wouldn't be being "bombed" by the military. Another piece to this puzzling event is the National Weather Service. Clearly (as you can see in the video), the National Weather Service was keenly interested in the area ONE HOUR BEFORE the event began.... hitting the area with two targeted pulses of high power microwaves. Then half way through this plume event the NWS hit the plumes with a pulse again. The plumes obviously (as seen in the video) came from a volcanic butte , old fissure zone. The particles rose into the sky, and were detected as "strong cell thunderstorms" by the storm detection systems. After the plumes lingered in the ground level winds, they rose even higher (still being detected as MOISTURE precipitation), and blew away in the prevailing winds. At no time did a storm actually form, and at no time were any large plumes of smoke seen from exploding bombs from the military. Whatever these plumes of steam were, they were predominately invisible to the human eye, but certainly were seen on RADAR. Thus leading me back to an emission of steam that would most certainly be viewable on RADAR , but not show up as a giant "eruption". The town nearby is called Cold Springs. The last plume event happened last week at DESERT HOT SPRINGS in Southern California. See last weeks California plume event here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sia6moi3gMU The National Weather Service did something one hour BEFORE the eruption of plumes which lets us know that THEY knew something was going on in the area worth looking at with the weather RADAR. ______ In the past when we have seen plumes appear near volcanic areas, natural springs, and even from deep frack wells filled with water -- this normally is followed by earthquake activity within a few days. In the past these plumes did NOT lead to an eruption of lava / ash, rather large earthquakes in nearby areas occurred. For example, a steam plume event occurred last week in California, directly before the 5.5M struck off the coast of California, and a 6.2M struck the West Coast near Vancouver Island BC. In 2011 we saw a plume event in Southern California at pisgah crater, followed 3 weeks later by a 4.5M earthquake at Pisgah Crater. In 2012 we saw something like this in California, and Nevada, which was followed by a 6.3M in Baja Mexico near the California Border, and a 7.7M in Vancouver BC. In 2012 and 2013 we saw plumes appear at hundreds of fracking operations in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and Alabama... followed by a series of unexpected earthquakes, and strange geologic movement at the fracking / injection operations in these exact same states. In 2014 we seemed to see a lull in activity, producing few plume events worth noting. Then we resumed at the end of 2014, and now we're back to 2011 type activity. Worthy to note that this plume activity only seems to occur when we see global earthquake and volcanic activity.

As someone who was leaving California for Nevada, I knew that there were going to be differences between the two states that I had read about and talked over with other people. However, after moving to Las Vegas from California, I can certainly see some notable differences between the Golden State of CA and the Silver State of NV. Shopping for produce: The first few times I went grocery shopping in Las Vegas I did not feel like the produce was quite as fresh as it is in CA. Then again, I was born in Modesto, CA. The San Joaquin Valley has a large part of its economy based on agriculture, so I was VERY CLOSE to fresh produce every day of my life. Don't get me wrong-the produce in Las Vegas is just fine and perfectly edible (we are still in America), but it was something that stood out to me right away. Traffic Laws: There is no debate at all between which state is more lenient when it comes to getting a traffic ticket. I got my first speeding ticket after living in Las Vegas for about a year. I was so used to the system in CA, and was very unfamiliar with the ticket system in Nevada. I must admit that it was a far more pleasant experience getting a ticket in Nevada than it was in CA. My traffic ticket video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPOA0aH1Eak State Taxes: I have talked about this topic briefly in the past. Nevada has one of the lowest overall tax burdens out of all of the states in the country. CA is pretty much at the opposite end of the spectrum. Another state tax increase was passed in the fall of 2012 in CA just before I left. The state tax increase officially made CA the state with the highest state income tax in the union. In Nevada our state income tax is a whopping 0%! Veteran Support: This just comes more from a gut feeling and what I have witnessed in daily life. Here in Las Vegas I hear commercials on the radio supporting local businesses to hire veterans for work. In nightlife I will commonly hear doormen tell patrons "Thank you for your service" after they check their military ID. The local emphasis to employ veterans and the hospitality towards military personnel that I have seen here lead me to believe that Nevada is more supportive of veterans and the military than CA. Gun Laws and Gun Culture: It almost seems as if the gun laws in Nevada could not be any more different than the gun laws in CA. The last time I checked CA had a gun ownership rate of about 24% while Nevada has a gun ownership rate of about 40%. Las Vegas really was a cowboy town until about the 1980s when the population growth began increasing. Even today in Vegas there is still a lot of rural influence from ranchers, and we still have quite a few horse properties out here. When you get into rural Nevada the culture is even stronger. With all of the gun ranges we have in Vegas, the outdoor and hunting options available, it becomes pretty evident that Nevada has a much stronger gun culture than CA. Business environment: CA has a strong reputation for being a state that is not business friendly. The strong regulations and high taxes in CA make it more difficult on business owners. Nevada is commonly considered to be much more business friendly, largely due to its low tax environment. Simply having an llc in Nevada vs California is more cost efficient in Nevada because of the additional tax that CA has. The state is trying to attract more entrepreneurs to come to and open businesses in Nevada. Whether you are a sole proprietor or want to be an llc, you will find that opening a business in Nevada is generally much easier than in CA. Those are the biggest differences I first noticed when I was leaving California and moving to Las Vegas, NV. If there is something I missed please be sure to share it in the comment section below! In this video, Economist Dr. George Jouganatos explains how commercial loss may be most effectively and accurately determined, and sets forth the proper analysis and the many factors which are involved in this process. He covers all the basics, from the actual equations used to calculate damages to the important concepts which may be involved in business matters. How to you measure lost profits? What are the definitions of the key terms in the language of economic calculations, such as Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit margin, Loss of Working Capital, Loss of Inventory, Discounting to Present Value and Present Value of Future Net Profits? Dr. Jouganatos provides answers for attorneys involved in business litigation and related practice areas. How do you determine Loss of Business Value? Again, Dr. Jouganatos issues such as how to calculate a price earnings ration and how to compare it with industry averages, how the value of a smaller companies may be discounted due to lack of marketability and Goodwill Loss. _______________________________________________________________ George A. Jouganatos has been a professor of economics for over 17 years. He has taught economics, finance, and quantitative analysis at University of California, Davis, University of California, Santa Cruz, California State University, Sacramento, and California State University, Hayward. Dr. Jouganatos conducted research at the University of Athens and the Center of Economic Research and Planning in Athens, Greece where he conferred with many of the nations top economists and political officials. The fruit of the research resulted in a seminal book on the development of the Greek economy. His work on the Greek economy has been cited numerous times. He also engaged in research at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. He works as a consulting economist providing economic and statistical analysis for the private and public sectors since 1991. He has written many economic impact, efficiency, cost, and feasibility studies. He has designed economic models, strategic plans, and performance measures. Dr. Jouganatos serves as an expert witness for cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful termination, housing discrimination, employment discrimination, economic loss, business valuations, public finance, and breach of contracts. He has consulted and given testimony for numerous attorneys in California as well as in Nevada, Iowa, Montana, Hawaii and New York. Dr. Jouganatos has advised California State Assembly and Congressional candidates on economic issues and policies. He was asked to review economic platforms of United States Senate and California gubernatorial candidates. On several occasions he has provided brief commentaries on economic events and issues for television and radio. In 2000, he was awarded a Faculty Research Fellows Grant from the Center of California Studies, California State University, Sacramento to analyze state land holdings for the Governor's Office of Planning and Research. This weekend we actually escaped to Las Vegas so we are going to be spending three days just enjoying winter in the desert and doing cool stuff. And today we're walking down the strip and we're going to show you some of the sights. And the best part - no winter parka right now. Enough walking for a while. I'm starving. Let's get some dinner. We're going to Shake Shack. So when this buzzer goes it's time for me to get my food. It's ready. It's ready. Go get it! There is the man bringing food. Ooh la lah. I'm on a total health kick today. We've got a double burger, cheese fries, peanut butter shake and a root beer float. When in Vegas. I think I found my new favorite burger here at the Shake Shack. They just do their patties to perfection over here. Tell, me. Tell, me! You know what? Nobody does fast food like Americans. They've got it down to a science. It's absolutely unhealthy but so delicious. We just found a jelly bean Statue of Liberty and I'm going to dare Sam five bucks to lick it. So what did you find? I found the largest Hershey chocolate bar in the world. Really? We're going to head back to the hotel and get ready for a show. We're going to be seeing the Michael Jackson Show at the Mandalay Bay but unfortunately we can't bring any cameras in there so we won' t be able to show you that but maybe after the show we'll hit the town again and show you the sights. Not maybe! Definitely! It is so sad to be leaving but it is our last night in Las Vegas so we're going to go out and try and see as much as we can this evening. Let's go wild. Let's gamble. Why are you at the ATM machine right now? We need some cash to fuel our gambling addiction. It is never ending. The lights. The noise. The ding ding ding ding. This is what a casino sounds like twenty-four seven. We see people gambling here at like five in the morning when we get up for breakfast. And yes we do get up that early. What would a trip to Vegas be like without a little gambling? Sam, even looks like an old gambler today with that hat. Oh, I do. Guess what? We're such cheapskates we're playing with pennies. We're going to the penny machine. They don't even have pennies in Canada anymore, so let's use these American pennies up. Shiver me timbers. I'm playing a pirate game. I'm going to win me some money. Tell us? Alright, I was a pretty lousy pirate, so I'm going to try my luck with this Owl game. Hoot! Hoot! Ding ding ding ding ding. Being the supreme cheapskate that I am I'm cutting my loses after two dollars. So we're here at the Bellagio for the water show. And they have a lot of frequent shows in the evening so we're just waiting for it to start. So we are now at the Cosmopolitan and we are visiting one of the coolest bars in all of Las Vegas. Viva Las Vegas baby! After weeks on end of cold harsh weather in Canada, we had the opportunity to escape to Las Vegas for the weekend. Trading in our parkas for t-shirts was a welcome change. The glitz, the sights and the sounds of the city quickly had us mesmerized. We spent the majority of our first day in Las Vegas, Nevada familiarizing ourselves with The Strip walking along snapping photos and video of the various architecture, hotels, casinos and fascinating shops. In particular, we made stops at Hershey's Chocolate Store and the Mandarin Oriental Palace Hotel. From Castles to the Eiffel Tower our senses were overloaded from the minute we arrived. Even the airport has dinging slot machines! The following travel video is our first impressions in Las Vegas featuring things to do and attractions worth checking out. Viva Las Vegas! Two and a half pounds of peanut butter and chocolate. And these are only two cups if you can imagine. One here, one there. So what did you find? Prostitution is legal in rural Nevada counties but not in Las Vegas and Reno. If porn production is regulated under the same rules, condom use would be required for all sex acts. Adult film performers would be required to undergo weekly testing for the sexually transmitted diseases chlamydia and gonorrhea, and monthly testing for HIV and syphilis. Definition of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) DUI in Nevada is defined as operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A person is considered under the influence if his or her normal mental and physical functions is impaired due to the consumption of drugs and alcohol. Blood Alcohol Concentration Limit According to the laws of Nevada, the illegal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit in Nevada is: • 0.02% for drivers under 21 years of age • 0.04% for commercial license holders • 0.08% for everyone else First Conviction Penalties • Revocation of driver’s license for 90 days. You may apply for a restricted license after 45 days. • Jail of up to 2 days up to 6 months or 96 hours of community service. • Fine of at least $400 up to $1000 • Mandatory DUI school attendance • A possible order to attend a substance- abuse treatment program In addition, if you are charged with DUI offense in Nevada, the Department of Motor Vehicles will report the incident back to the government agency in your state. Some of these actions are : • Some states will take action after the DMV reports the incident. • Other states will only take action if you are charged of criminal conviction • In some states, they will only take action if their DUI statutes is the same or similar to Nevada DUI laws. Will I need to return to Las Vegas for the court date? In most cases, no. Most first and second DUI charges are misdemeanors. Unless it’s a felony DUI, your criminal defense attorney may appear in court on your behalf. You may only need to return to Las Vegas if the DUI case proceeds to jury trial. If my driver’s license get suspended in Las Vegas, will it affect my driving status in my home state? The state of Nevada lacks jurisdiction to suspend driver’s license from other states. However, your DUI case will be reported by the DMV to your home town. By virtue among states called the interstate compact, your home state may honor the suspension from Nevada.
