The Noreen Bad News Story Peter Noreen has been a well respected gunsmith for the last 25 years who specialized in custom scaled up Pre-64 Model 70 Winchester actions for taking dangerous game. His son, Phil Noreen, grew up in his dad’s gunsmith shop, and learned the rifle-building trade from the ground up. They both shared passion for ultra long range shooting which led them to create the first Noreen Ultra Long Range Rifle in 2007. Their vision expanded, and in early 2010, the Noreens introduced the "Bad News" in .338 Lapua Magunum which was the first rifle to utilize this cartridge in the AR platform, the Noreen Bad News has been widely praised in tactical circles for its range, power, performance and versatility. Honest First Impressions: Accurate, Light handling & Light Recoil. Noreen Brake Design: The innovative Noreen design features four baffles with radius pockets that divert gases to the side. With the gases vented left and right, the amount of recoil to the rear is significantly reduced and no gas is directed toward the ground. Muzzle jump was virtually eliminated, even at 20X magnification the shooter's eye never leaves the target so he can often see the bullet hit his mark. Ergonomics: PRS Stock - It is a AR15/M16 stock which is designed to offer a fine-tuned, customized feel. Accuracy: Gas system is well thought out with accuracy in mind Reliability: Tight match grade chamber may be sensitive to certain case dimensions. Strong Points: Exhibited excellent accuracy and is very easy and comfortable for anyone to shoot and handle. Suggested applications: 1. Long / Extreme Long Range Precision shooting - great target rifle. 2. Hunting – Very accurate, with quick follow up shots available. 3. Tactical Applications – with right ammunition selection it may be appropriate for specialized combat applications. Tight chamber dimensions may be best suited for target apps.
