Sanj Surati, Experiential Producer at Holition will discuss Augmented Reality at the inaugural Holographic Summit.
The Holographic Summit will take place on September 28, 2016 in London at the Strand Palace Hotel. The one day business conference is discusses digital holography, holograms, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
The event's goal is the 'move the needle' so that digital holographics on a mass scale becomes a reality sooner.

Bringing together the talents of film maker Sanj Surati and writer Guy Heywood, this short video is a visual interpretation of Heywood’s autobiographical work, Free to Choose.
Following Heywood’s own journey from a White Collar boxing match to open heart surgery three years ago at the age of 30, the tale explores his descent from peak fitness to post op recovery in the space of a year after discovering an undiagnosed congenital heart condition.
The story is compounded by a life changing decision he had to make about the type of surgery he would choose, which ultimately meant choosing between his quality and quantity of life.
In his story he explores the lack of information available to him and the lack of support options open to a young heart surgery patient, as well as his own journey to discover what life really meant to him, and crucially, how to make what seemed like an impossible decision.
Surati’s video takes extracts of the story and retells them in locations across London, where Heywood was living at the time, bringing a creative visual twist to the thought provoking tale.
Heywood’s story is particularly prevalent given the number of high profile sudden deaths from cardiac arrest and heart failure, notably in football. Such cases have lead to increased awareness of heart conditions in the young.
“You know how you hear about young people dropping down dead? This is why.” Says Heywood’s eminent surgeon, distilling the severity of the tale and Heywood’s lucky escape down to one powerful reminder that sometimes fate, choices and life can change in a moment.

Following the debut of a holographic image of late rapper Tupac Shakur "performing" at the Coachella Festival in California earlier this month, Sanj Surati of Musion Technology, the company that created the Shakur hologram, now has other dead artists in his sights. Surati gave NME his wishlist, saying, "Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, oh, and Michael Jackson would be the ultimate one. Maybe even Whitney Houston." Surati added that putting "Elvis on stage with Justin Bieber would be a cool thing."
The audience at Coachella was stunned two weeks ago when the image of Shakur, who was shot to death in 1996, appeared onstage to sing alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The image even addressed the crowd.
Dre reportedly said that the effect was strictly for Coachella and would not be taken on tour.
Crowd reaction to the hologram was mixed, and its inclusion in the show has launched a discussion about the future of live performance. A handful of artists in Japan have already used holograms in this manner.
Surati called the hologram technology "a historic and exciting initiative."
SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he thought holograms could be used to beam living artists into any festival in the world from wherever they were: "If the technology is available and we can get away with it, that would be awesome. Then you'd have, like, THE POLICE from one part of the world, you have, you know, U2 from another part or you have African bands and all these people playing from different parts of the world on the same stage without being there."

I had a rather lucky opportunity to work the VIP area of Comic Con London back in Winter 2015. My job was to work as the Creative Director of the filming room of the press one to one area.
This was an intimate space overlooking the London Docks in a very cold room. I was helping my friend to introduce the guests to new technologies and to nurture the conversations with the press towards insight into the thoughts of each guests. I wanted the conversations to be natural and raw without the added pressure of promoting a specific film or story. One of those guests was the very talented Edward James Olmos, an actor and director who had worked on some influential culturally relevant film and TV including; Blade Runner, Miami Vice and Battlestar Galactica. I knew about his work and respected him as an actor and director. However, I was truly captivated by him when asking about his thoughts on the craft of acting as an art form.
Some of you know that Blade Runner is one of my favourite all time films (watch it if you haven’t seen it). To me Blade Runner is probably one of the most important pieces of Sci-Fi film ever to be made. It was influential in many ways and was a pivotal shift in how films are made even today from a production point of view, on par to the original Star Wars and 2001: Space Odyssey. I could talk about Blade Runner for years. Its one of the reasons I work in the technology industry.
This short edit is Edward Olmos’s response to what it was like to work with Ridley Scott on Blade Runner. I feel his response gives you an idea of what it is like to work in an artistic environment where you feel truly inspired by what is happening around you. His thoughts on the production value and sound design of the film making process of Blade Runner sound so enchanting. I kind of feel like we captured him in a rare moment of reflection.

Blade Runner
Blade Runner is a 1982 American neo-noir science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott, and starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. The screenplay, written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples, is a modified film adaptation of the 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick.
The film depicts a dystopian Los Angeles in which genetically engineered replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from adult humans, are manufactured by the powerful Tyrell Corporation. The use of replicants on Earth is banned and they are exclusively utilized for dangerous or menial work on off-world colonies. Replicants who defy the ban and return to Earth are hunted down and killed ("retired") by special police operatives known as "Blade Runners". The plot focuses on a group of recently escaped replicants hiding in L.A. and the burnt-out expert Blade Runner, Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), who reluctantly agrees to take on one more assignment to hunt them down.

Keke Palmer discography
The discography of Keke Palmer, an American R&B singer-songwriter, consists of one studio album, one extended play, three mixtapes and seven singles. In 2005, Palmer signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. Palmer released her debut album So Uncool on September 18, 2007. The album failed to chart on the US Billboard 200, but did chart at number 85 on the R&B chart. The album was preceded by the lead single "Keep It Movin'". In 2010, Palmer was signed by the Chairman of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine, and began working on an album.
In January 2011, Palmer released her first mixtape Awaken. The mixtape was officially released on January 10, 2011, for downloads on mixtape-downloading websites. The first and only single released from the mixtape was "The One You Call". A music video was also released for the song. In July 2012, Palmer released the single "You Got Me" featuring Kevin McCall. The video for the single was released on July 11, 2012. Palmer released a self-titled mixtape Keke Palmer on October 1, 2012. It includes her new singles "You Got Me" & "Dance Alone" which have already been released. On May 16, 2013, Keke Palmer released a video showing her recording and performing a cover of Alicia Keys song "If I Ain't Got You".

Metal Rules
Metal Rules, also known as Metal-Rules, is a heavy metal webzine created by EvilG and online since 1995. Based in the province of Newfoundland, Canada, the site was founded with the goal to promote 'Real Metal'. It is one of the world's largest and longest running heavy metal websites. The site now has an international staff of 16 members and half a dozen additional contributors from around the world, including Canada, America, England, Sweden, Finland, Australia, Malaysia, Estonia and most recently India. The website contains a wide range of features including news, CD, DVD and book reviews, concert reviews and interviews. The site has almost 8000 CD and DVD reviews, over 1000 interviews, over 700 concert reviews. In the summer of 2011, Metal-Rules introduced a new section called The Library Of Loudness specializing in hard rock and heavy metal book reviews, which currently has over 145 book reviews. The site also has a number of Internet chat forums with over 100,000 registered members since its inception. Other features include streaming audio, and video, interactive polls, editorial pieces, cartoons, guitar samples and tabs, tour blogs and more.

March 2014 – Creative Agency Assembly Studios and Holition, experts in advanced 3D digital experiences, once again collaborated to create an innovative and engaging user experience for trade show visitors to the 01 Properties stand at MIPIM. O1 Properties, one of the largest owners and managers of a portfolio of high quality office properties in Moscow, invited visitors to run through its various properties on a 52”screen with a simple hand gesture (very much like the famous scene in Minority Report with Tom Cruise). When approaching the screen the camera detects a human presence and triggers an intro video; by holding a flat hand up and closing it to form a fist the motion activates a range of functions such as viewing images of a property, map or location. Holition has applied the latest technology, usually only found in computer games, and adapted it for the commercial market. With the use of a Creative Senz3D device designed for short range interactions the two lenses of the camera can detect with 3D precision, rather than two dimensionally, the minuscule movements of the hand which allows the visitor to literally ‘wave’ through The O1 Properties’ portfolio. London - Holition, experts in advanced 3D digital retail experiences was approached by MOET to create a virtual celebratory champagne experience for the British Independent Film Awards held in Central London. Guests were invited to hold a bottle of MOET in front of a special Magic Mirror, which they could shake, and spray without getting soaked. When guests shook the Moet Magnum Holition software would track its shape triggering an animation where champagne bubbles erupted from the bottle as if by magic. Bafflement quickly changed to eye-popping bewilderment! Many luminaries from the world of film, including James McAvoy, Stanley Tucci, Myanna Buring, Sting & Trudie Styler, were wowed by the Moet Mirror. The noise and laughter from the booth created long queues as many wanted to experience the virtual bubbles. Holition’s concept brought together the magic of theatre and its 3D digital expertise to create an exciting champagne popping experience. The Moet Magic Mirror is a world first and the BIFA Ceremony provided the perfect setting. Each virtual Moet moment was captured on film for approx. 7 seconds - with over 1000 guests attending the evening some 300 groups of friends posted their virtual champagne experience to Facebook as well as emailing friends. Holition was asked by Moet et Chandon to explore ideas for creating a fun and engaging experience during the After Party at the Awards. Holition’s digital team developed the concept to craft an illusion of champagne erupting from a bottle after it had been popped. Sanj Surati, Experiential Producer at Holition said “champagne is all about celebration and popping corks so it was probably quite easy to come up with the idea of recreating that moment. The difficulty was how to do it virtually. Fortunately our in-house digital craftsmen love a challenge and immediately set about creating an animation that would replicate the champagne spray but also the various angles used when pointing the bottle. It’s also great fun for those people who want to avoid their tuxedos and dresses getting soaked!” -

The property is located in the prestigious south-west district of Moscow with panoramic views over the city. This is the first time O1 Properties, one of the largest owners and managers of a portfolio of high quality office properties in Moscow, has introduced augmented reality to the Expo Real show. Visitors to the exhibition stand will be able to point an iPad at three specially built plinths triggering a series of 3D volumetric representations showing the building and its environs coming to life through a specially designed app using groundbreaking augmented reality technology. The user will be able to view the building in 360 degrees and look through the office windows to see at close quarters the internal airy spacious interior incorporating 19,000 m2 of top quality office space; another 3D app will highlight iCube’s key features including its perfect setting close to main routes with panoramic views over the city; the third will show other 01 Properties developments in and around Moscow. Following Heywood’s own journey from a White Collar boxing match to open heart surgery three years ago at the age of 30, the tale explores his descent from peak fitness to post op recovery in the space of a year after discovering an undiagnosed congenital heart condition. Following the debut of a holographic image of late rapper Tupac Shakur "performing" at the Coachella Festival in California earlier this month, Sanj Surati of Musion Technology, the company that created the Shakur hologram, now has other dead artists in his sights. I had a rather lucky opportunity to work the VIP area of Comic Con London back in Winter 2015. My job was to work as the Creative Director of the filming room of the press one to one area. This was an intimate space overlooking the London Docks in a very cold room. Bringing together the talents of film maker Sanj Surati and writer Guy Heywood, this short video is a visual interpretation of Heywood’s autobiographical work, Free to Choose.

The story is compounded by a life changing decision he had to make about the type of surgery he would choose, which ultimately meant choosing between his quality and quantity of life.
In his story he explores the lack of information available to him and the lack of support options open to a young heart surgery patient, as well as his own journey to discover what life really meant to him, and crucially, how to make what seemed like an impossible decision.
Surati’s video takes extracts of the story and retells them in locations across London, where Heywood was living at the time, bringing a creative visual twist to the thought provoking tale.
Heywood’s story is particularly prevalent given the number of high profile sudden deaths from cardiac arrest and heart failure, notably in football. Such cases have lead to increased awareness of heart conditions in the young.
“You know how you hear about young people dropping down dead? This is why.” Says Heywood’s eminent surgeon, distilling the severity of the tale and Heywood’s lucky escape down to one powerful reminder that sometimes fate, choices and life can change in a moment.

Following the debut of a holographic image of late rapper Tupac Shakur "performing" at the Coachella Festival in California earlier this month, Sanj Surati of Musion Technology, the company that created the Shakur hologram, now has other dead artists in his sights. Surati gave NME his wishlist, saying, "Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, oh, and Michael Jackson would be the ultimate one. Maybe even Whitney Houston." Surati added that putting "Elvis on stage with Justin Bieber would be a cool thing."
The audience at Coachella was stunned two weeks ago when the image of Shakur, who was shot to death in 1996, appeared onstage to sing alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The image even addressed the crowd.
Dre reportedly said that the effect was strictly for Coachella and would not be taken on tour.
Crowd reaction to the hologram was mixed, and its inclusion in the show has launched a discussion about the future of live performance. A handful of artists in Japan have already used holograms in this manner.
Surati called the hologram technology "a historic and exciting initiative."
SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he thought holograms could be used to beam living artists into any festival in the world from wherever they were: "If the technology is available and we can get away with it, that would be awesome. Then you'd have, like, THE POLICE from one part of the world, you have, you know, U2 from another part or you have African bands and all these people playing from different parts of the world on the same stage without being there."

I had a rather lucky opportunity to work the VIP area of Comic Con London back in Winter 2015. My job was to work as the Creative Director of the filming room of the press one to one area.
This was an intimate space overlooking the London Docks in a very cold room. I was helping my friend to introduce the guests to new technologies and to nurture the conversations with the press towards insight into the thoughts of each guests. I wanted the conversations to be natural and raw without the added pressure of promoting a specific film or story. One of those guests was the very talented Edward James Olmos, an actor and director who had worked on some influential culturally relevant film and TV including; Blade Runner, Miami Vice and Battlestar Galactica. I knew about his work and respected him as an actor and director. However, I was truly captivated by him when asking about his thoughts on the craft of acting as an art form.
Some of you know that Blade Runner is one of my favourite all time films (watch it if you haven’t seen it). To me Blade Runner is probably one of the most important pieces of Sci-Fi film ever to be made. It was influential in many ways and was a pivotal shift in how films are made even today from a production point of view, on par to the original Star Wars and 2001: Space Odyssey. I could talk about Blade Runner for years. Its one of the reasons I work in the technology industry.
This short edit is Edward Olmos’s response to what it was like to work with Ridley Scott on Blade Runner. I feel his response gives you an idea of what it is like to work in an artistic environment where you feel truly inspired by what is happening around you. His thoughts on the production value and sound design of the film making process of Blade Runner sound so enchanting. I kind of feel like we captured him in a rare moment of reflection.

March 2014 – Creative Agency Assembly Studios and Holition, experts in advanced 3D digital experiences, once again collaborated to create an innovative and engaging user experience for trade show visitors to the 01 Properties stand at MIPIM.
O1 Properties, one of the largest owners and managers of a portfolio of high quality office properties in Moscow, invited visitors to run through its various properties on a 52”screen with a simple hand gesture (very much like the famous scene in Minority Report with Tom Cruise). When approaching the screen the camera detects a human presence and triggers an intro video; by holding a flat hand up and closing it to form a fist the motion activates a range of functions such as viewing images of a property, map or location.
Holition has applied the latest technology, usually only found in computer games, and adapted it for the commercial market. With the use of a Creative Senz3D device designed for short range interactions the two lenses of the camera can detect with 3D precision, rather than two dimensionally, the minuscule movements of the hand which allows the visitor to literally ‘wave’ through The O1 Properties’ portfolio.
Matt Fairman CEO at Assembly Studios said “We are really thrilled to be partnering with Holition again – the collaboration works on so many levels drawing from our inter-disciplinary teams creativity and sector experience and Holition’s knowledge of emerging technologies from other industries and their ability to re-apply them back to the property sector. London - Holition, experts in advanced 3D digital retail experiences was approached by MOET to create a virtual celebratory champagne experience for the British Independent Film Awards held in Central London.
Guests were invited to hold a bottle of MOET in front of a special Magic Mirror, which they could shake, and spray without getting soaked. When guests shook the Moet Magnum Holition software would track its shape triggering an animation where champagne bubbles erupted from the bottle as if by magic. Bafflement quickly changed to eye-popping bewilderment! Many luminaries from the world of film, including James McAvoy, Stanley Tucci, Myanna Buring, Sting & Trudie Styler, were wowed by the Moet Mirror. The noise and laughter from the booth created long queues as many wanted to experience the virtual bubbles.
Holition’s concept brought together the magic of theatre and its 3D digital expertise to create an exciting champagne popping experience. The Moet Magic Mirror is a world first and the BIFA Ceremony provided the perfect setting. Each virtual Moet moment was captured on film for approx. 7 seconds - with over 1000 guests attending the evening some 300 groups of friends posted their virtual champagne experience to Facebook as well as emailing friends.
Holition was asked by Moet et Chandon to explore ideas for creating a fun and engaging experience during the After Party at the Awards. Holition’s digital team developed the concept to craft an illusion of champagne erupting from a bottle after it had been popped. Sanj Surati, Experiential Producer at Holition said “champagne is all about celebration and popping corks so it was probably quite easy to come up with the idea of recreating that moment. The difficulty was how to do it virtually. Fortunately our in-house digital craftsmen love a challenge and immediately set about creating an animation that would replicate the champagne spray but also the various angles used when pointing the bottle. It’s also great fun for those people who want to avoid their tuxedos and dresses getting soaked!”

London – HOLITION, experts in advanced 3D digital retail experiences, has partnered with Assembly Studios, a provider of quality design and digital solutions, to create a unique and virtual tour of the brand new 11 storey office building in Moscow known as iCUBE. The property is located in the prestigious south-west district of Moscow with panoramic views over the city.
This is the first time O1 Properties, one of the largest owners and managers of a portfolio of high quality office properties in Moscow, has introduced augmented reality to the Expo Real show. Visitors to the exhibition stand will be able to point an iPad at three specially built plinths triggering a series of 3D volumetric representations showing the building and its environs coming to life through a specially designed app using groundbreaking augmented reality technology. The user will be able to view the building in 360 degrees and look through the office windows to see at close quarters the internal airy spacious interior incorporating 19,000 m2 of top quality office space; another 3D app will highlight iCube’s key features including its perfect setting close to main routes with panoramic views over the city; the third will show other 01 Properties developments in and around Moscow.
