Finally, the financial advisor needs to keep a close eye on financial markets and global trends – as this is how the advisor can successfully advise his or her client in financial planning for tomorrow.

Responsibilities & Skills

The financial advisor is responsible for regular financial reviews of their clients' financial portfolios, with review recommendations and consultation with individual clients. Good analytical skills are therefore required. The financial advisor needs to draw up financial programmes and plans for individual clients, and pair the best financial products with the client's needs. Selling financial products are central to the job – good salesperson skills are a must! Financial reporting including the development of financial strategies are two other key responsibilities of the job.
